Detention Blood Scrubbing

This is a detention thread for @Kyle Derook and @Marla Quinlan to serve their punishment for stealing from the potions classroom and sneaking out past curfew.

It was the weekend and Aurelia had reluctantly dragged herself out of bed that morning when the rays of morning sun barely seeped through the windows. The Gryffindor had awoken that early just to deliver a detention session for a few shenanigans she had caught a few days ago. The girl select a good five minutes brushing her teeth, hair and changing up before trotting down the stairs of the Gryffindor common room. As expected, the other students were still asleep and there was barely a soul in the hallways.

The mere sight of the old door of the abandoned bathroom gave her chills. The last time she entered that place, she had encountered Kaegen Deathmoron who had went on a stabbing rampage shortly afterwards. The sharp stench of blood hit her as soon as she stepped into the area. Her blood and a few others. Aurelia had asked a house elf to leave a few cleaning materials in the bathroom and now found a metal bucket filled with cloths, brushes and gloves sitting atop of one of the broken sinks. The students had some nasty cleaning to do.

All she had to do now was wait for the two Gryffindors to make their entrance. This detention session was not going to be pleasant. But when Aurelia came to think of it, was any session ever pleasant?

Detention Blood Scrubbing
[quote]As Marla rolled out of bed (literally), she remarked to herself that this would be the first time, ever, that she wasn't looking forward to going to the abandoned toilets. The girl honestly didn't know what was in store for her and Kyle, but she knew it wasn't going to be good. Probably cleaning of some sorts. It was the abandoned bathroom after all, and it was a mess after that weird Keith Deathnote whatshisface bombed the place up and... No. No. No. Did they have to clean that up? As Marla shot up out of her bed, her jaw dropped, developing an even stronger loathing for the prefect that had given them detention. What kind of sick person would make them do this? Ugh. It wasn't even like she could punch the girl in the face. Well, she could, but it would turn out in a complete utter disaster.

And so, Marla reluctantly got dressed. You could tell that she was not excited for what was to come by just taking a small glance at her. The girl's hair was tied up in the messiest low-ponytail monstrosity possible. It wasn't even brushed. Marla didn't care about appearance, but she wasn't so out of the loop that she kept her hair looking knotty and a complete mess. But today was a different story. Batman pajama pants and a bright red sweatshirt that made the girl look like an absolute mess kept the 'I am not glad to be here, nor will I ever be' vibe that she was going for.

The Gryffindor made her way down the steps of the fifth floor as slowly as possible, savoring every last moment of freedom that she currently had. Soon she'd be locked in that stupid, smelly (and not to mention haunted) toilet alone with Kyle, to clean up a mess of glass porcelain all over the floor. A nice boy, but also an overbearing one. So this would be fun. Totally not being sarcastic. Ha.

Sadly, Marla eventually made it down to the second floor, pushing the thick door for the abandoned bathrooms open to see a familiar prefect in front of her. The redhead gave the prefect the stink eye, she couldn't punch the girl in the face but Marla might as well let her know that she wanted to. What a nerve this girl had. Making the young Gryffindor get up so early on a weekend...

"Can we get this over with?" She asked cooly, her eyes that usually resemble a warm hearth now were more like shards of ice trying to pierce through the prefect's soul. It probably wasn't working though. Marla was much too small to intimidate anyone.

Kyle woke up with a loud yawn and sat up slowly and scratched the back of his head and throw his legs over the edge of his bed. He sits there for a few minutes waking up, he knew he had detention to report to but he couldn’t help but push his luck and take his time. Kyle would slip on a pair of his more ratty jeans and a drop kick Murphy t-shirt, and top it off threw on a pair of sneakers and didn’t bother to tie them.

Kyle stepped out of the common room and began to make his way towards where he was supposed to go to for detention. The abandoned toilets. Of all places why would they go there? Sure it was haunted but it’s not like the students could get rid of the ghost. Maybe some ectoplasm was building up? Maybe they just wanted him and Quin to scrub the unused toilets? Who knows.

Without taking his hands from his pockets Kyle pushes the door open and steps into the bathroom and sees both the Prefect and his partner in crime ”top o the mornin’ ladies. Not the place I’d pick for a party but to each their own I suppose”

He offered his usual cocky smirk and looked between the two before looking around the room. He shrugs and looks back to the prefect, she looked like she didn’t want to be here either. So why bother busting them? ”gotta agree with Quin here badge. Let’s get things moving yeah?”

Surprisingly, the girl Marla had entered through the doors of the abandoned bathrooms just in time. The red head stormed in with a scowl on her face, making it clear that she was not the very least pleased that Aurelia had given her a detention. The Gryffindor prefect simply ignored the first year. When Aurelia had gotten her second detention which was far less pleasant than the first, it had been overseen by Alexx Helm, she had given the Slytherin an attitude. The door slamming, eye rolling, silent treatment type of attitude. So Marla’s attitude at the moment compare to hers then, was not as bad.

The boy on the other hand, had entered with a much livelier brisk in his step. Aurelia ignored the snarky, almost flirtatious grin he threw. “Good morning to you too, Mr Derook and Ms Quinlan. Yes, we shall both of you shall get started on cleaning this mess.” she said pointing with her thumb to the bloodied floor behind her near the cubicles.

There was a... an incident that happened a few months ago. Not to worry, nobody died on that floor. You two are to clean the blood off, scrap, scrub, whatever that is required. Use the gloves in the bucket especially when picking the shards of toilet bowl.” she said as she gestured at the bucket before waving them off to serve their detention.

[quote]Thank god that Kyle eventually showed up. If he didn't, things would be way more awkward for her. Aurelia and Marla had to sit in painful silence for quite a long amount of time before he had joined the two.
"Top o the mornin’ ladies. Not the place I’d pick for a party but to each their own, I suppose." The boy joked as soon as he walked in, which Marla wasn't very surprised about. This was either going to seem extremely long or extremely short, depending on how obnoxious Kyle would be today. In this case, she hoped it wouldn't be the latter...

But as soon as Marla crossed her arms and demanded that the two get the detention task over with, Kyle completely agreed. Okay. Maybe this wouldn't be so terrible. If both of them stayed on task, they'd probably be out within sixty to ninety minutes... Probably. Well then again, she didn't even know what they had to do. But it was pretty obvious. There was blood and glass on the floor and a sudsy bucket of water, which was all pointing to cleaning. Greeaat.
"Good morning to you too, Mr. Derook and Ms. Quinlan. Yes, we shall both of you shall get started on cleaning this mess." Aurelia had responded, in a surprisingly calm manner. Marla let out a small scoff and rolled her eyes. Of course. Yay. They had to clean up someone else's bodily fluids. Wasn't that just spectacular?
“There was a... an incident that happened a few months ago. Not to worry, nobody died on that floor. You two are to clean the blood off, scrap, scrub, whatever that is required. Use the gloves in the bucket especially when picking the shards of toilet bowl.” She explained, nodding towards the water.
"Thanks captain obvious. I'm gonna get started if y' don't mind, so off you go now." Marla said to the prefect with an evidently fake smile, kind of a silent 'screw you'. Then again, the prefect was just doing her job. She had found Marla and Kyle breaking the rules fair and square, it made sense that she was going to give them detention. That didn't make it any less annoying though.

The girl reluctantly made her way towards the bucket of water and dunked a nearby sponge into the water, immediately beginning to scrub away the blood stains. Might as well start with the worst, right?

Kyle couldn’t help but let out a laugh. This was their detention? That’s it? Kyle has cleaned up blood more than once, and once you get over the strange feelings most people get around blood it was actually really easy. Obviously wood drinks it and carpet stains really bad but this was stone. Stone was the absolute easiest thing to clean blood off of, assuming you knew what you were doing. The common mistake was to use hot water but that will just assist in making the blood stain.

Kyle shakes his head and walks over to the sink and turns the cold water handle and lets it run until it’s as cold as it’s going to get ”Alright Quin” he grabs her arm to stop her from using the warm water in the bucket ”wring the sponge out and run it under the cold water. Little bit of oomph will get the blood up super easy.” he shoots her a quick wink and lets go over her arm and grabs some gloves of his own.

While Marla got started on the blood Kyle went into the stall and began to collect every broken shard of the toilet, even going to other stalls and around the entire bathroom to grab even the smallest of shards that had broken off and scattered all over the room and he dumped all of it into the trash bin. Once that was done he grabbed a sponge of his own and soaked it in the cold water and moved to his own spot. Before he began to wipe up the blood he leaned down and smelled the blood. Something about the scent was familiar. Hm. With a shrug he started to scrub as well ”gotta say Quin. I like your style, might have to include you in more of my fun down the road”

[quote]A laugh protruded from Kyle's mouth as he began to clean. Was he actually entertained by this? It was detention. Detention where they had to mop up blood, nonetheless. How could he have the energy to laugh? She audibly scoffed and shook her head, and jumped as she felt a hand on her arm. She spun around to see a familiar pair of blue eyes, feeling a bit more at ease knowing it was just Kyle.
"Wring the sponge out and run it under the cold water. Little bit of oomph will get the blood up super easy." He explained, making Marla give him a small smile as a silent 'thank you'.
"How do you even know how to clean up blood so well? You're twelve. Or eleven. Dunno. But still. Just a bit concerning.." She half joked, but was genuinely concerned about Kyle with the knowing-how-to-clean-up-blood deal. Has he had to do that before? In less fortunate circumstances? Marla most definitely hoped not. Kyle was.. Interesting, to say the least, but he was nice. Nice enough that she knew he didn't deserve to endure something like that. But she was probably overthinking it. Even then, the girl couldn't help but let it linger over her head...

Following Kyle's instructions, Marla used cold water instead of warm to scrub on the surface of the stone. And what do you know– it worked. She smiled, relieved at the thought that she'd be out of this dump in no time. The redhead silently hoped to herself that this agonizingly dull detention wouldn't ruin her future experiences at the abandoned bathrooms. This was her go-to place for pretty much everything. Whether it was rule breaking, reading, painting even... The abandoned toilets were the first location that came to mind. Never once had she gotten sick of this place, and Marla would honestly never forgive herself if she had started to become sick of it now.

"Gotta say Quin. I like your style, might have to include you in more of my fun down the road,” Kyle had mentioned out of nowhere. She let out a laugh. Sneaking out at night was quite fun, she had to admit. Getting caught? Not so much... But it was a learning experience for sure, and she definitely wouldn't mind scheming something with Kyle again soon. Just next time they'd have to be a lot more careful.

Kyle rubs the back of hand across his forehead and looks over at Marla. Why did he know how to clean up blood? Obviously the real answer would freak her out and out his secret so he wouldn’t be going down that route. Thankfully if Kyle was good at anything it was thinking on his feet. Without missing a beat he offers Marla a shrug and answers with his usual cadence ”lotta bloody noses, cuts a scrapes. One of my favorite places to hangout is the scrap yard in town and there’s lots of sharp metal edges

Kyle continues to scrub, occasionally smacking Marla with his sponge, or dripping it on her after he runs it under the sink to get it wet again. After all, time goes a lot faster if you are having fun and Kyle refuses to let this detention get them down. Getting caught wasn’t a failure, it meant their plan went perfectly. Atleast in his eyes it did. This was just a part of the game to him.

"I could say the same for you. Plan our next heist more carefully next time, yeah? Marla says in response to including her in more of his fun down the road.

He grinned at her response. So She was just as interested in solidifying the friendship as he was. This was good, he meant it when he said he liked her style. He let out a chuckle as he finished scrubbing up her area of blood ”You got yourself a Deal Quin”

[quote]A wave of relief washed over Marla as the boy explained that the blood wasn't because he was a serial killer or something. She laughed to herself quietly. How could a lighthearted boy like that be capable of killing someone? Well, maybe he was, because the boy kept on smacking Marla in the face with his sponge, or dripping some of the dirty water on her head. If he wanted a sponge war-battle thing, it was on. Occasionally, she would wander around the bathroom and then throw bits of her sponge at Kyle, sometimes squeezing water over his head. When she thought about it, the water part was kind of gross. It was like throwing diluted blood at somebody. Well, not like. It just was. But if you didn't think about that part, it was fun!

"Pretty sure I'm winning." She joked, scrubbing off bits of red stains from the cold stone. Thank god that Kyle had a lot of bloody noses, without the tip about cold water, they'd probably be there for another hour or two. Marla already cleaned off almost all of the mess, which was quite relieving. There was still quite the amount of porcelain on the floor, but that could easily be picked up, since Kyle had taken care of all the small pieces.

As Marla mentioned being careful at their next heist, Kyle smiled and said that she had herself a deal. She returned his grin and realized that the two were practically done, and stood up.
"Well, I think we're done here," She said with a trace of relief in her voice,"Should we ask the prissy prefect what she thinks?"
