[quote]What was Marla trying to do? Oh, yeah, help Kyle because he looked like he was dying. What did she get back? A punch in the face.
The girl was honestly expecting Kyle doing something to her, but wasn't exactly ready for it. As she grabbed his arm, he clocked her right in the left side of the face. She heard something crack, and a metallic taste suddenly filled her mouth. Was that blood? The boy hit her so hard that Marla fell back a little, thankfully Lamik was there to stop her from falling completely. Before she knew it, blood from her split cheek and mouth was dripping onto the floor. Marla turned away from the two as she felt tears welling up in her eyes. Holy shit. That hurt. The girl wasn't expecting Kyle to be so strong. She let out a bit too loud of a whimper and felt panic in her gut. Oh god. Did they realize that she was crying? Though that was probably the least of everyone's worries, she was mortified.
"Quin! I’m sorry I...listen I just. I gotta be alone. You’re all better if you stay far away from me." Kyle apologized.
Calm down! Just- you need help. Let me get you help from the nurse in the medical wing. Both of you. Please." Lamik responded frantically. Marla didn't know what to do. She didn't turn around yet, tears dripping down her face along with the blood trickling from her cheek, which she was holding extremely tight because of the pain. But somehow she wasn't angry? More sad than pissed off.
"I’m just...off yeah? I’ll be fine if everyone just...leaves me alone." Marla made a noise that kind of sounded like the word no, but it was hard to understand. She turned around and shook her head.
"Kyle. What's going on?" She asked again, now seriously worried. More worried than angry, actually. The pain was bad, but not so bad that she hated him. There was something really wrong going on with him, and of course, she was a little mad at him, but that could wait. Right now he needed help.

The Abandoned Toilets were normally ideal for solitude.@Lamik Fillestar | mention@Kyle Derook | @Marla Quinlan
Like any other strange child in the school, the half-blood had spent his fair share of time wandering the odd ruins of a bathroom. He had pressed his pale hands to the chipped walls, ran his fingers over shattered glass mirrors, and looked over into run-down toilet bowls. Before, his chief fascination with the place was its ghosts of the past. He had gone searching out Myrtle and Peeves, looking for trouble in the most deadly of places, straining his ears for a moan or laugh.
But this time, he had fled to the Toilets to be alone. He wanted the silence that was stolen from the dormitory by his roommates' snoring, and the silence that seemed so rare in a school where everyone seemed to shout their thoughts to the rooftops.
He ascended the steps to the room. But he was disheartened to find that silence would not greet him. Instead, there was a crack like a bolt of lightning, and a dismayed yell. Isaac's heart pounded in his chest.
Another psycho in the school.
Or, he tried to convince himself, just a bloke with awful anger issues, taking it out on a poor person who was there at the wrong time.
The boy glanced at the stairs with temptation. The Abandoned Toilets clearly would offer no comfort tonight, and it was smart to get out of a mess while he still could. But another part of him made his jaw set and his eyes grow hard.
A student could have been in trouble.
What would he have been, had the professor and his friends abandoned him in the Forbidden Forest? He'd be dead, and no better than a pile of dust. No, he wouldn't cower from this. If the students needed help, then he'd try to help as best as he could.
Gathering up his courage, Isaac pulled out his wand from his uniform pocket, in case he needed to attack. Swiftly, he strode closer to the chamber, hearing words as he neared. Two people, a boy and a girl, spoke in softer tones that grew louder as time passed. The last voice was chilling. As time passed, it was less of a rasp and more of a growl, escaping from whoever they were confronting.
Isaac walked into the room to behold a strange sight. There was Marla, that freckled Gryffindor from the train-ride and Quidditch-game, facing off with a boy who had a feral light in his eye. His knuckles were stained with blood, and Isaac followed the trail to see blood dripping from Marla's face, blemishing her pale skin. Her eyes swam with tears, and she seemed heartbroken.
Like a referee, the third boy, blonde and lithe, was trying to gain control over the match, talking about the infirmary. But it didn't do much good. They were too absorbed in their verbal sparring.
He walked over to the third boy, carefully edging around the other two, feeling more and more like a clueless interloper every second. His wand was still carefully held in his fingers.

She didn't know why the heck she wasn't in the common room reading a book or something. Instead, she wandered around, thinking stuff as if she was in that Explorer's Club, which was nonsense.
She turned into a corridor and found herself in a place she never was before. You couldn't blame yourself for that as it felt like the castle was always changing. So that you could find places. No wonder someone always revived the Explorer's Club.
She came closer to the dirty strange doors, which were not in the best condition and heard a few hollow sounds and voices behind them. Peeking inside just a little she saw Marla, as well not in her best condition, and three boys she didn't know personally. All were Gryffindors.
"What a party!" she thought, but tried to deduce the situation and what was going on.
The two boys were standing in front of another one, who looked like he was already beaten, but prepared to fight further. The other boys seemed untouched, but she couldn't see their faces. The boy, whose face she could see, seemed to be in need of help the most. She didn't know how she could help him, though. But at least she could try getting him to a safer place, just in case the other boys threatened him. Mother told her that Gryffindors made no fewer bullies than Slytherin, so she kind of expected that. And why the heck the wands were out?
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
She pushed the doors forward and stepped right into the toilets, proclaiming loud:
"Ah! Finally! Here you are! I've been looking for you everywhere. The guys are already waiting for you," she addressed the boy, who seemed to be in the worst condition, and she didn't think it all through, so she just improvised, addressing to the rest of the party now, "I'm very sorry to interrupt you guys, but we had an agreement, which this young man decided to ignore, so I need to accompany him to another place, where he is very expected to be."
Then she gave Marla a quick look and saw the blood. Why? Why would Marla want to bully the boy? That thought didn't make sense as Marla seemed more shocked than everyone. She tried to think of other ways to help her and get her out of here. Meenauh's brain was like a steam engine at that moment, looking for all the possible ways to resolve the situation without anyone being hurt more. But there was no way back now.
She turned to the boy, who was so angered that he could explode. She drew her wand out and started to move it right and left in front of his eyes, trying to make him focus on it and calm down. Not her best trick, but still. She wanted to drag him out by hand first, but that would look awful. So she turned away after a couple of seconds, passed the two boys and near the exit she turned back and shouted:
"Come on!"

Kyle looked at Marla, he heard the pain in her voice and saw the tears in his eyes and he was even angrier at himself than before. This is exactly what he had been trying to avoid but they just wouldn’t leave well enough alone. All he needed was some time to breath and decompress. To be away from others, to let himself calm down. He hated they way he got right before the full moon...moving forward he would need to find a better place to hide out from others. For now he just needed to leave
”Take care care of Marla, and stay away from me.”
Then as he turned around he saw another there, yelling about about an old wizards beard...why is it people always yelled about him. But what stood out most was he had his wand out, was this a trap the whole time? Set up by everyone? Then another came in, pointing her wand at him. Adrenalin was pulsing through his veins and he didn’t even register what the latest addition was saying.
His fight or flight instincts were kicking into full gear, and something deep inside told him to fight, to hurt them all for trapping him like this. But Kyle tuned that voice out, he refused to listen to it. Flight was the option here. And he knew just how to do it. He pulled his wand from his back pocket and pointed it at the ceiling, putting his free arm across his eyes.
”Periculum!”
A red ball shot from the tip of his wand and crashed into the ceiling, it would explode into a shower of bright red sparks. Kyle quickly stepped forward, trying to push past the two new people and exit out of the door

Simply put, Lamik was confused. The situation he was in had shifted over the past few seconds to such a degree that somehow it may have been even more possible for he himself to be punched in the face now then it had been before. Here he was, being a good Samaritan and trying to help out two nice strangers (as he assumed that they would try to do for him if the situation was reversed) when for some reason two other kids decided that the best way to defuse a ticking time bomb was by setting it on fire. Who in the world tries to deal with an angry person by pointing a weapon at them? Who does that?
As he opened his mouth to tell them to put their wands away and try to be a bit more rational, Lamik was stopped by Kyle telling him to take care of Marla. Directly after turning around to face the two newcomers though, what Lamik thought would happen did, in fact, happen. Instead of calming down at the stick of mass destruction pointed at his face, the sickly boy decided to take out his own wand, leaving Lamik just enough time to mutter a few words before sending what could only be described as a literal firework into the air: "Here we go again-"
The sparks that emanated from the spell cast by Kyle were blinding in such an enclosed and small space. Unsure of what else to do and not familiar enough with the spell to know whether or not it was harmful, Lamik simply held a bit tighter on the girl and dropped to the ground, trying to pull her to the floor with him so that they could have a chance to avoid any potential burns or injuries.

Maybe it was stupid to get involved in this whole mess in the first place.mention @Kyle Derook | @Marla Quinlan | @Lamik Fillestar | @Meenauh Silmataurea
He wanted to be helpful. Emphasis on the help part of that word. But by holding out his wand for comfort and defense, the other boy had taken it as an invitation to launch an attack. And worse yet, some other girl had begun to get involved, making things even worse.
He almost felt like face-palming at the fellow Gryffindor's words. Did she even know this kid? What if he was unstable or something? And if he was in an Abandoned Bathroom, why would he accompany this girl somewhere else? He clearly cared for Marla more than anyone else in the room. Isaac could tell in an instant that she was pulling this stuff out of nowhere."I'm very sorry to interrupt you guys, but we had an agreement, which this young man decided to ignore, so I need to accompany him to another place, where he is very expected to be."
And then, as if she was trying to cause a fight, she waved her wand in front of the angry boy's face.
She and Isaac were probably the two biggest idiots in this situation. Though, he admitted to himself that her idea was a little dumber.
He recognized the red sparks from an earlier lesson, summoned from the Periculum spell. The glowing ember-colored signal flared suddenly in the air, crashing straight into the ceiling and bouncing off of it. He knew that the sparks didn't do much damage, but plaster crumbled from the ceiling nonetheless, in a stream of rocks.”Periculum!”
"Look out!"
There was likely a reason why this Bathroom was an Abandoned Bathroom.
The feral-looking boy growled beneath his breath, knuckles still shining red with blood. His eyes even appeared almost red in the unnatural light cast from the spell. The kid stared at him with frustration for a few moments before turning away to shove by him.
He wasn't expecting that.
Isaac's reflexes were clumsy, and he could feel the other boy's elbow jab into his stomach as he walked by, tension rippling in the stranger's shoulders. The girl had already been saved by the sickly blonde kid, leaving him as the unfortunate one to get shoved away.
Twisting over, he toppled down, taken aback by the strength in which the boy pushed past. When he slammed against the floor, the breath was knocked out of him and bones were jolted by the impact. He could feel the skin being lightly scraped off of his burns, and sucked in a heavy breath, feeling a terrible sting of pain.
Dammit..
That was so...pathetic.
He thought bitterly, pulling himself back to his feet. The boy was already walking away from the spot, darkness trailing after him. He didn't use a spell on the other kid, only because he figured that then, everything would be terrible. But they couldn't let him escape into the school. What happened if he attacked the other students?

If crying and bleeding in front of two people wasn't completely mortifying enough, guess what? It got worse. Two more people came in, and great. She knew both. One was a boy that she had crossed paths with two times prior, they had ridden the train together to Hogwarts and met again during the quidditch game. The second person was a pretty, tall girl with slick brown hair that she had met in the very beginning of the year at the owlery. Marla was kind of surprised that she recognized her honestly... It had been so long since they had last seen each other. In any normal circumstances, Marla would have been quite glad to have encountered the two, but the last thing that she needed was more people seeing her with tears swimming in her eyes and blood splattered on her face. The first one who walked in was Isaac, who asked exactly,"What in Merlin's beard is going on here?" to which Marla had no answer. How do you explain a tall, feral-seeming boy punching a tiny girl in the face? Exactly. You couldn't. So she just kept silent, biting her lip to hold back the tears that desperately wanted to spill down her face.
But when Meenauh came in... Not to be rude, she liked the girl, but... It made things a whole lot worse. It seemed like she was trying to give Kyle an escape to no avail, so he took things into his own hands.
"Take care of Marla, and stay away from me." Surprisingly, that was the thing that made the redhead's blood boil. Take care of her? He literally just punched her in the face! And she could take care of herself just fine, thanks! Marla wasn't some damsel in distress... And now she felt like everyone thought that, which was equally embarrassing and infuriating.
"I don't need anyone to take care of me! Don't slug me in the damn face next time!" She screamed at him, her fists clenched so tight that all the color was drained from both. Her eyes looked almost crimson, and her teeth were gritting together so aggressively she nearly chipped a tooth. Marla opened her mouth to yell something else, something that she'd probably regret, but before she could, Kyle had yelled an incantation for a spell that she couldn't recognize, until... Red sparks shot throughout the room! Lamik thankfully pulled her down to the ground, an angel, that one was. She curled up on the floor and covered her eyes, because god forbid one of those got stuck in there. The girl'd be blind for at least a week. But Isaac wasn't so lucky. He fell to the floor. Hard. It seemed like all the wind was knocked out of him, even.
Once the spell had died down, Marla wiped off the blood that was now covering a large portion of her face, and approached Isaac, offering him a hand to get up. She then shoved her hand in her pocket quickly as she saw that the boy was getting up on his own, and stepped to the side.
"That fall was brutal. You alright?" She shook her head, still completely livid after what Kyle had done to her, and now Isaac. "He's mad, that one," she said to the remaining three in the room,"We had detention together in here a few months ago, and now? Deranged or summin'. An arse hole too.." She murmured the last part to herself, and scoffed quietly.

The last drop in her brilliant plan, which she never considered a plan, was when she out of nowhere decided to shout at the boy. Which basically triggered him as by the time she stopped shouting the two short words, his hand went up into the air and he shouted a very loud incantation as if the lava was making its way up in a volcano all this time and finally burst.
The moment she noticed the red sparkles appearing at the end of his wand, she realised that if that was harmful, it would be impossible to hide, even though she was pretty close to the exit. She covered her eyes and effectively her whole face with the sleeve of her robe, which from one point of view was a good idea because she didn't want to hurt her eyes or face. But on the other side, she blocked her vision completely, which resulted in herself not realising what hit her so hard that she travelled the distance to the exit door and slightly banged her head at it.
By the moment she got back sitting down, she already realised that it was the boy, who pushed her hard. And one of the remaining two boys was already on his feet. She rubbed the back of her head and addressed the remaining Gryffindors, who were closer to the sparks and in a bit worse position than herself:
"Okay, now that my goal is accomplished, though not according to the plan... though I can't quite call it a plan... Anyway, as the boy is not here, could you please tell me who the heck that was and what the hell was going on with you surrounding the poor boy?" she gazed around as if searching for answers.
She pulled herself up, coming to an understanding that probably it was not the boy, who needed help, as she heard Marla saying the boy was mad. And explained a bit about him, which still didn't make sense, why the other boys were there or what exactly was happening before she entered. She rushed to Marla to help her get up:
"Hey, darling. So he punched you in the face? What about me helping you to go to the hospital wing and see if you're okay?"

Blinking a few times to clear the spots from his vision from the explosion of light, Lamik groaned and rolled off of his side and onto his back. "Yes. I am also alright. Thank you all for the concern." He said, making sure to add in as much sarcasm as possible to his voice as he brushed a lock of hair away from one of his eyes.
The boy really hated what was going on. As in he really hated it. Why can't anything ever go as planned in this stupid, idiotic, room? Why does it even still exist? It is literally an abandoned bathroom! It has no actual purpose! Deciding that he would have time to ponder all of these important life-altering questions later on in the day and satisfied with the levels of sarcasm in his voice, Lamik forced himself onto his feet and looked around the room.
Kyle had left, as evident by the minor detail that he did not seem to be inside of the abandoned bathrooms at that moment. The newcomer who for some reason had barged in claiming that she was looking for someone was already helping the Quin girl, and the second newcomer was also on his feet, though he seemed a bit worse off. "You know... as much as I dislike telling people that the thought isn't what counts- since believe me I've had quite a bit of dumb ideas in the past- what the two of you just did was absolutely insane."

sorry guys, wifi was down yesterday."I'm fine," Isaac insisted, steadying his breathing and glancing towards the door that the aggressive boy had stormed out of. "Seen worse." he added with a shrug. Marla's face was still flushed crimson, and her eyes had a livid spark. He figured that it would be better to downplay it, just so that she didn't snap and start screaming again."That fall was brutal. You alright?" She shook her head, still completely livid after what Kyle had done to her, and now Isaac. "He's mad, that one," she said to the remaining three in the room, "We had detention together in here a few months ago, and now? Deranged or summin'. An arse hole too.." She murmured the last part to herself, and scoffed quietly.
At Marla's comment that she and him had weathered through a detention together, he wondered what on earth they had even gotten detention for in the first place. From his first impression of Marla, he already knew she was stormy with more than a bit of a temper, but he never expected her to be the type to fall in with a boy like that. Perhaps it was over harmless mischief, but then again, he no longer had the same faith in the students he was surrounded by. If this Deathmote bloke could wander around, slicing students up, then what was stopping another unhinged student from doing the same?
It was then that the blonde kid chose to roll himself onto his feet, blinking the lights from his eyes and focusing on the group. Isaac was surprised by the heavy sarcasm laden in his voice when he spoke, expecting something altogether more soft in his tone. The kid did look quite sickly at first. He brushed a few stray locks of hair from his eyes as he began,
"It wasn't that stupid," the Gryffindor muttered defensively before tucking his wand in his pocket. "At least I didn't talk to him, or maybe, jab my wand right at him." His last statement was pointed, and he couldn't help but feel a little exasperated at the brunette girl again."You know... as much as I dislike telling people that the thought isn't what counts- since believe me I've had quite a bit of dumb ideas in the past- what the two of you just did was absolutely insane."
Isaac had a reason. He was just holding his wand for safety.
But then again, he bitterly realized that no one else would understand why he needed to. It circled back to why he wanted to be alone in the first place, to avoid people and avoid questions. Nothing he did seemed rational to anyone anymore. Not even to himself. He hated it.
Lost on this sour train of thought, it was then he felt a stinging sensation searing his right arm. The boy pulled his hand away from it, becoming conscious of the fact that he was scratching his burns again. The reddened patch of skin was dented, and in certain places covered in disgusting congealed blood. At this rate, he'd never heal.
Spite spilled into his next words, and his grey eyes flashed. "Not like you were doing any better, Mr. Lets-Go-To-The-Hospital-Wing. No one even cares about what you say. If he really wanted to hurt us, I bet you'd be dead in a second."
A part of him wanted a fight, or an excuse for one. The helplessness from before when he was pushed was sharpening into misplaced anger. He was sick of being afraid, or shoved aside like he meant nothing.
