More than happy to get away from the schools hurries, Airlia made her way to the grounds of Hogwarts. Just a day earlier she'd noticed that there was a meadow at the grounds, blooming with natural flowers that seemed to be flowing out of a brighter part of the forbidden forest and spreading slowly but steadily along the edge of the forest.

More a patch of natural colorful flowers than a meadow actually, but still Airlia made her way over and with a basket in hand started picking out the flowers she liked the most.

Her favorite flowers were forget-me-not flowers, but they were too small and delicate to create the kind of big flower bouquet effect she was going for.

Her second favorites were lupines. They reminded her of home since during the brief summer months at Finland they took over the fields and roadsides, painting them lilac and light pink with a flourish of color. She loved watching them grow and finding the rare white lupines that she didn't dare wrench up from the ground for bouquets, in fear that they might not grow back the next year.

Airlia wondered about the color scheme. There were a lot of lilacs, blues, yellows and whites displayed in the meadow of flowers. She didn't want to have everything in the bouquet in fear of making it too flashy and as such, sat by the edge of the flowers planning her bouquet as she started lacing daisies together, making a flower crown.

With a sigh, Airlia planted it on her head and wondered what was the favorite color of her new head of house. She didn't really know but thought that as Hufflepuffs, yellow would be the oblivious choice.

But did she want to do the oblivious? Or make a lasting impression? Maybe going the safe way for the beginning would be the right choice.

She got up and heard steps behind her. She recognized the approaching girl as a housemate of hers since she'd seen the girl around the common room.

"Hello." Airlia greeted. "Wanna help me make a bouquet for our new head of house?"

The longer she walks through the school grounds the closer she gets to finishing off the soft sugar cookie that she's slowly chipping away at. But Eventually she's forced to concede that it won't last forever, the last bite's- barely half an inch in diameter- set on her tongue. It's sucked on as she brushes the little crumbs out of her clothing. With a final flick of her wrist there's nothing left to show for her previous snack.

Evelyn's hands wind around each end of her furry foxlike scarf. It's bright golden and black fuzz are close enough to her house's colors that it doesn't mesh with the tie dangling loosely from her upturned collar. Her dark chocolate colored hair spills around around the bundle of too long fabric as she buries her face in the sun soaked fabric; idly she winds around the meadow, her sleepy hazel eyes watching as the vibrant petals sway with the slight evening wind. With her eyes on the ground the first thing she notices about this person is their basket and back. Luckily she pauses in time to avoid knocking into them. Progress! Evelyn mentally crows.

As her gaze wonders up their spine they turn around; facing her with a flower crown sitting on their crown. It's only when they bring up their own house that she recognizes them as a fellow classmate. A smile turns her lips upwards, she tilts her head to the side and stretches her mouth out into a grin. Ah, a fellow hufflepuff! What're the chances that she'd meet another one here?

"Hello! Sure i'll help, why the heck not! It'll be fun. Though, Is he allergic to any types of flowers?-" She makes the assumption that he's a male based off the fact that their previous head of house was a male and it's easier then switching between the two until she's told. "-and do you have a scheme in mind? For the bouquet, not to take over the world- unless you do, then sure, that would be a tad strange to present to our head of house, but I'm all ears. Though I was thinking more of a color scheme or a certain type of flower you have in mind."

During the whole thing voice was muffled by the fluffy faux furr folds of her neck wear. While she didn't consider at all through her slight ramble afterwards she likes to think that she got her questions across regardless.

And though she still has plenty she wants to say she refrains, even if it's only to release her strangling grip on her scarf, loosen it's hold around her neck, and gesture towards the wild flowers twisting out of the ground around them. Now, with her mouth peaking over the folds of enchanted fox furr, the grin pulling at her lips could be seen. It doesn't reach her eyes, but that's normal.

The girl agreeing to help her and bringing up loads of important unanswered questions they would have to figure out had long brown hair. Her hair seemed a little tousled or maybe she just had the more choppy type of natural curls in her hair. She had light skin and brown eyes. She looked like one of those girls you'd meet at a muggle school. Those bright and joyous types.

The girl's voice was rather muffled behind some fox fur but Airlia understood most of what she was saying.

"I don't know about his allergies but I'm sure there's a spell he can use to stop the effects right? For the colorscheme, I was thinking of going with traditional yellow. Yellow flowers represent trust, respect and the bonds of friendship. And maybe add in some white? White flowers mean purity and honesty since we do wish to start with a base of trust. Anyway, I love yellow and white daisies. The yellow ones mean happiness, joy, and friendship and the white ones represent new beginnings. Rather fitting, don't you agree?"

Airlia smiled at the girl and picked the first daisy, placing it in her basket. "Would you like to collect the yellow or the white ones? And is there a flower you'd like to add? I mean there are more than enough of them here for the taking."

Airlia thinks that the girl seems more than nice. Joining in, just like that and ready to make the day of their new head of the house. Airlia thought that this was the least they could do since new students had each other to lean on when they were unsure of what to do, while new teachers jumped into a new job that some of their colleagues had been at for years.

Airlia thought that a professor's work already seemed really challenging but also stepping into a new world like this must have been extremely hard if you had to do it on your own.

Airlia wanted her head of house to be someone she could rely on for help and as such really wished that Mr. Browne would be nice.

"Perhaps. If he does have that kind of allergies he probably knows it." Evelyn accepts their reasoning with a dip of her head. "Red could be nice. But i'll collect Yellow." She mutters, her dull eyes drifting along the flowers to catch a spark of crimson among the sea of yellow and white. But she doesn't specify more than that or even ask if they mind her claiming the yellows for herself. She doesn't know much about these flower meanings in general.

Her random factoids tend to center more around potion ingredients, well known meanings, or historically important flowers like... she stills for a second as she tries to recall one... Alstroemeria. Yeah those. They might actually be nice speckled in among the pollen heavy goldenrod or the probably not appropriate for a bouquet nettle. For exactly those reasons she doesn't mention any of her ideas.

Instead she plops down onto the ground at their feet and adjusts her scarf so that it hangs loosely around her shoulders. The winding fabric's much too long for her small stature, It practically swallows her up whole. Her equally oversized jacket spills over the edges of her hands. She idly rolls them up as she glances back up at them. Once she thinks her sleeves are properly situated she runs her hands down her arms in order to help them situate to the change it temperature.

After a couple of passes she looks away from the other hufflepuff in order to begin plucking at flowers. While she seperates the soft green stems from the ground she mutters; more to herself than to the other. She keeps tucking her uneven bangs out of the way so that they don't get caught in her constantly moving mouth.

"Perhaps some lilies may go nice with this. I don't believe he'd take their connotations as a threat since they're coming from students, unless they are a threat, than he probably wouldn't take it seriously. It could also be as a- I hope we don't die but just in case you do here's some lilies ahead of time, welcome to the position!"

She stalls, a yellow buttercup dangling from her fingers as she cocks her head and actually considers it. But than she shakes her head, accidentally snapping the flower's stem with the sudden tensing of her hand. Instead of throwing it aside she tucks it into the folds of her scarf and continues on with carding through any flowers within her reach to find some good ones.

Airlia picked white flowers. She made sure not to take all the daisies from the same spot so it wouldn't be left fully bare. She hummed a tune of a song from home and help onto her summer hat that cast shadows on her face when it almost flew away with a sudden breeze.

Airlia isn't used to heat. It wasn't a hot day per se, but the sun was on the sky and it beamed down on them making the air warm with an occasional gust of wind. Without her hat, Airlia's cheeks and shoulders surely would have already burnt.

Feeling rather unsure why the other girl even had a scarf she shrugged and kept choosing the prettiest white daisies from the little meadow.

Airlia loved the smell of grass in the morning dew. The faint smell of morning lingered in the air even now, far after breakfast was over.

"I'm Airlia." She said when she realized they hadn't really greeted each other yet. "It's nice of you to join me in flower picking. I'm sure Mr. Browne will appreciate the warm welcome we'll be giving him."

Airlia smiled and hoped that she would be cascading a nice presence. Se didn't want the other girl to change her mind about joining her.

To Airlia friends were important. She valued friends more than power or gold.

To think of it, Airlia should have always known she would be a Hufflepuff. It was after all rather oblivious that it was the right house for her.

Slowly the number of flowers in her basket was climbing up and she felt as though the bouquet couldn't handle much more or there wouldn't be a vase big enough for it anywhere.

A soft- nearly inaudible- hum dances in her throat, the tune not particularily good or inventive but instead faltering in some places and leaping off key in others. But it shouldn't be loud enough for the other to be distracted by if they so wished to ignore it. Evelyn herself's distracted by her own thoughts of flowers to notice the sound she's producing.

And she also doesn't pay the same attention her partner has to their surroundings. Instead she stops only once she thinks she's selected the prettiest of flowers. With every stem she breaks too short she pushes it into her scarf, leaving the sun yellow daises entwined in the furry folds of the fabric.

Once she has a bundle of flowers dangling from her finger she swivels around on her knees and replies while she speckles her own flowers through the ones that Airlia already put into the wood woven basket. "'m Evelyn, it's nice of you to be so welcoming to him." She mutters; a satisfied smile pulls back her lips but doesn't reveal her perfectly straight teeth.

"That, seems like enough. Right?" She doesn't seem bothered by the heat, though the back of her neck's flushed a soft red from the warmth in the air. If you where to touch her thick brunette mane it'd be pleasantly hot. Her hand rises to touch said locks; twining the uneven strands around her fingers as she tucks her bangs behind her ears to the best of her ability. It doesn't work well but it keeps her dull- almost strangely bored- gaze from being obscured.

Despite her somewhat dead eyes she's still smiling; her stare slipping away from the other to glance at the beautiful sight around them. Wind plays with the wild flowers, slowly turning the petals around and around before they fall back into place with a single sway.

She herself raises to her feet in a single movement; her hands catching at the ends of her scarf and tugging it tighter around her neck in way that borders on uncomfortable. But she doesn't seem to mind, her fingers loosen their grip on the fluffy fabric in order to dash across her pants. Bits of torn grass and speckles of dirt fall away from her robes, leaving them a tad cleaner then before as she holds out her hand-almost hesitantly- towards them.

The last digits of her fingers crook inwards somewhat; obscuring her palm from touch while leaving some room for the long digits to be held. Her body folds into itself a little, but she masks her discomfort of offering her hand well. Evelyn's need to be polite and helpful outweighs her wish to keep her hands free of touch. The spectral fingers of the afternoon breeze glide across her hair, pulling it to the right as if held up by invisible strings for a few heartbeats.

Airlia heard the other girl start whistling. When she caught on with the song Airlia joined in. The whistling mingled with the sounds of the forest beautifully. Joining birds in their songs as they flew into and out of the forest, flying just above the two girls of high up in the air.

Airlia picked flowers and admired their beauty. The petals had a gorgeous dewy look and the flowers looked so fresh and gorgeous. Airlia couldn't help but notice that her nails had grown to the perfect length but her usually perfect clear nail polish didn't reach the tip of her nails. She'd have to refresh that later and she added it to her to do list.

When the other girl looked like she was done with picking flowers, Airlia smiled at her. She felt an immense need to get inside. She couldn't handle the hot sun at all. She felt like her skin might burn in a matter of minutes and wanted nothing more than a shadowy spot to lay in at that moment. She wasn't used to heat, but knew she would have to learn to live with it if she wanted to spend any time outside at all.

"I'm Airlia." She smiled when the girl introduced herself: "Evelyn is such a nice name. We have it too in Finland, but with a slightly different version: Eveliina. It's quite a popular name in my country."

"I agree. We have enough." Airlia nodded and let out a giggle at the thought of picking more flowers and having a bouquet the size of a pillow. It would be priceless to see the face of their new head of house when they would carry in a bouquet that barely fit in through the door.

But going simple and small was probably better at that moment.

"If we add in more flowers we'll need to hands to hold the bouquet." Airlia smiled. "C'mon Evelyn. Let's go take this to mister Browne straight away."

The two girls started walking towards the castle. "I'm quite frankly a little embarrassed that I haven't gone welcome the new head of house sooner. But I'm glad I get to do it now." Airlia smiled just as they stepped inside the castle and started looking for the office of one Caradoc Browne.
