Quickly Dori seized the next clue, barely taking a second to look at the fireworks though they were a lovely touch to this already incredible hunt. The competition was fierce, and Dori was fiercely competitive. They mumbled to themselves, trying to read through quickly as others were already heading out. "Snacks... snacks... Snacks!" They bolted, with their stomach grumbling too. Snacks actually would be nice.⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛ ⁛
Well- if the concessions was open, there would be snacks. They frowned, looking for food anywhere along the stand and coming up short. "Ugh, bummer." Finally they turned to the three piles of items, accessories. Bow-ties, scarves, and beautiful necklaces. Dori was drawn to the necklaces, thumbing through them and looking at all the colors and designs. But what did the clue say? Don't be fooled by fanciful things, ah that's right. Top hats and beautiful necklaces were saved for beautiful occasions. Finally they pulled through the scarves among fellow students, wanting one that was cute if they were allowed to keep the items at the end.
Finally, they found a beautiful pale pink scarf and wrapped it around their neck, beginning their next set of waiting until the fireworks and the next clue arrived. They thought briefly about how this would be judged, how they could come out on top. After picking up sticks, learning the new riddle and hearing a strange blond girl’s @Oonagh Brown small outburst, Cyrus had a slight fondness in his heart as he left the scoreboard and headed towards the only area he imagined might fit the riddle: the concessions area.
He loved snacks, after all.
He arrived late, having gotten distracted by the snow in his Crocs, among other things, during his trek across the stadium. After hurrying to shake the snow from his shoes, the problem became worse, and with every step he took, more icy cold horror accumulated near his toes. Eventually, he gave up, and he continued his way to the concessions.
When he arrived, he eyed the piles with scrutiny. The riddle had warned against the flashier things, saying something about the humble… but to him, clothing could hardly be outrageous or flippant. All sorts of clothing were humble to him. A necklace was not by nature humbler than a scarf or more opulent than a bow tie!
Nonetheless, despite his tendency to be anything but pragmatic, logic pulled Cyrus into its cold embrace just this once. He inched towards the pile of scarves and felt the warm, comforting fabric against his skin. In this, the scarf held a quality the necklaces and ties couldn’t dream of mirroring: the illusion of warmth, of preparation for the weather, of readiness for whatever lay ahead.

Pyxis walked up to the concessions stand just a few minutes later and finally understood why accessories was hinted at in the clue. The items the students had to pick from were all adornments to outfits. Of course! The last part of riddle helped him with his choice, though for a privileged young man, it was not obvious at first. He'd seen many necklaces, bowties, and scarves at the galas his parents made him attend. Which one is humble? But, taking a step back mentally, he noted that necklaces and bowties screamed wealth. Scarves, not as much.Action: Picking up a scarf.

time⠀morning⠀ date⠀30/07/24⠀ dialogue⠀#c992a0⠀ interacting⠀open to interactions!Before she even had the chance to pick up the stick, a sudden burst of fireworks had erupted from behind the scoreboard, replacing the darkness with mesmerising golden embers that lighted up the whole stadium. But in a spilt second it had disappered again, with only the flittering remnants slowly fading from the dark night sky.
Welp. It seemed like she was just a tad bit late in figuring out the clue.
She hastily snatched a scroll from the pile, skimming through it as fast as she could before stopping at the word “Snacks?” She thought out loud. It sounded promising. Memories of the bright red booths and pumpkin pasties flashed in her mind as she bolted towards the Concessions.
Unfortunately, once the excited girl arrived she was not greeted by plenty of snacks as the riddle had said but another three mounds of random objects. Ugh. Fiddling idly with a loose string on the end of her scarf, Charisse bit her lip in subconciousness as she tried to figure out the answer. Don't be fooled by fanciful things. With a hard tug she finally pulled the string out. The true prize is far more humble...
Humble. And then it hit her - Scarves.going to the concessions and taking a pink scarf⠀actions

The Scavenger Hunt
THE THIRD RIDDLE HAS APPEARED!
Those who travelled second to the Concessions would find themselves congratulated by a short display of golden fireworks and the appearance of yet another stack of scrolls on the wooden countertop of the snack booths, though to the chagrin of many, they were not accompanied by any sweets. Each participant could take a scroll and open it to reveal the third riddle of the Scavenger Hunt:
Now that your neck is covered
And you feel stylish and new,
Why not attempt to play the field
And score a point or two?
While doing so, you may just find
Some smaller, dainty things.
Choose that which is most day-to-day

 | ── | Once again, the short display of fireworks was seen at the chosen location and Tone smiled. Okay, this was getting to be a good pattern for him. He could do this! It was also helping keep his mind off a certain fox-faced dark haired soon to be sixth year, currently one inch taller than him. Stuffing the dark blue scarf into his enchanted backpack, Tone grasped the handle of his broom again. So far he hadn't seen any sign of Ginyami around the area. It was safe to assume he wasn't participating in this particular event. Or he would have caught sight of him by now. Not that he was looking around for him. Of course not. He wasn't someone to stalk someone and he definitely hadn't done it before... Upon reaching the wooden countertop of the snack booths, he picked up a scroll right around the same time as Zophyr. After scanning the riddle inside, Tone quickly picked up on where to go next and glanced down at the younger one. "You want a ride?" He asked and upon getting confirmation that she didn't mind hitching one with him, Tone scooted up a bit to make some room on the broom and then took off after making sure Zophyr had gotten settled with him. Next stop for them, the Goal Hoops! |
