Hey everyone, if you use a spell that isn't in the list of duelling spells like Alohomora in an rp then can you just go ahead and use it or is there something specific you need to do?

if u dont have it in ur trunk then u cant use it iirc, but ur a second year and alohomora is a first year spell so u should have it anyway from graduation :]

I would just ask your partner whether you want to roll for its success or not, however if it’s someplace like, say, the headmasters office, you could ask her whether she wants you to roll for spell success.
