Primrose curiously looked into the cauldron to see the rather icky looking green liquid swirl around, her scrunched up face showing exactly what she thought about the thing. The only thing left was to put a few drops of Boom Berry Juice. She had to admit that making Wiggenweld Potions wasn't that fun, the salamander blood made her skin crawl and seriously, flobberworm mucus? Ew.
The young Hufflepuff nervously read the ingredients once more in her book, trying to not let it show to the professor that she ha absolutely no idea what 'a few drops' could even mean. Two? Four? A sigh escaped her as she took some notes, reminding herself to ask this after she was done with class.

Potions wasn't her subject by any means, her mother was a prodigy in it and had excelled beyond what people thought she would; nothing new from the Edwards family. The house of wand makers and Potioneers left and right. A groan escaped the girl, slightly panicked as she tried her best to move her cloak sleeves up once more, choosing to simply remove it in the end with a huff. With sleeves rolled up she stuck her tongue out, lifting the Boom Berry Juice with careful and shaky hands- moving back slightly just in case. And it was a good thing she did, another student shoving their elbow into her back by accident, causing the entire glass of Boom Berry Juice to enter the Cauldron, the turquoise color slowly starting to change color- a haunting muddy purple forming as the student behind her let out a soft 'oops'. Primrose falling back slightly from the shock and causing the Gryffindor boy next to her to get hit slightly with her arm; causing lord knows what reaction as her cauldron started bubbling.

''Uh- Professor Nagal?'' She called out in a broken terrified voice as other students took notice to the chaos, quickly backing away as a reaction caused a medium explosion; purple liquid being splashed across the room and onto Primrose uniform, as well as the poor Gryffindor forced to share a table with her. It was silent before she slowly moved to look at the boy.
''Oh god- I am SO sorry'' Primrose shrieked with a horrified wail, his entire face had traces of the purple liquid as she herself also had. Why did it always have to be Gryffindor students she clumsily brought down with her? Her own potion had fallen into the other students potion as well, causing a similar reaction with that as well. Oh yeah they were so going to have to clean all of this up, weren't they?

Potions class. To be perfectly honest, he was always excited to test out a couple of potions. He figured it would be a lot like the basic mixing he'd done in science class - like pepsi and mentos - but on a much larger scale, and of course, with magic involved.

With the rest of the group of chattering first-years, he walked into the room, bookbag slung over his shoulder. His stride was confident despite the harsh look on the teacher's face, and while the other students were talking, he took the time to survey the room.

It was what Isaac expected from a dungeon. Slightly damp, smelling overwhelmingly of dust, rock, blood and a tangle of strong scents, likely from ingredients. The professor himself, Mr. Nagal, was entirely unfazed by the aroma. There was not a single spot of sunlight, and the black chalkboard at the head of the room almost reminded him of a detention center he had been to once.

Inside his bag lay a variety of books, and a very crumpled copy of Magical Drafts and Potions. He didn't have much interest in the book, and was much more interested in what their professor, Mr. Nagal, would be teaching them that day. Hands-on experience was the always best experience. Raring ahead, he pulled the book out on the table, but cast glances towards the ingredients all the while - missing the professor's droning lecture about the rules of potions or whatever those were.

As the Gryffindor looked into his own cauldron, swirling with a shimmering liquid, he wondered how on earth to start this. Maybe he should've listened to some of those instructions.

Add salamander blood until the potion turns red...huh...

Frowning, Isaac picked up a bottle of the blood. It sloshed about in the glass vial, and was a deeper crimson than he imagined. Shrugging, he began to pour some of the blood into the cauldron. It rushed out in a steady stream, dripping to the bottom.

He still held the glass vial in his hand when out of nowhere, an elbow poked into his side. Clumsily, the vial slipped from his fingers, shattering onto the floor. He immediately rushed to try to kick the glass beneath the table before Mr. Nagal saw. The last thing he wanted was to be spotted by a professor for no reason.

Figuring that it must've been an accident, he decided to concentrate on the potion again. In truth, Isaac had no clue exactly what Arsenius Jigger meant about "turning red." The potion already was just blood - meaning it was red. Was there some sort of red that wizards could especially see? Or was the potioneer just a loon?

He tugged on one of his curls in slight frustration. This was not good.

At that moment, there was a loud bubbling coming from his left. He tried to tune out the noise, still occupied with how exactly a 'Wiggenweld' Potion could even be brewed, until he realized that it might've been important. Maybe the girl next to him could give him a pointer or two.

Turning to speak to her, he was completely ignorant of the danger.

Purple liquid erupted in jets from her cauldron, and a jet smacked him straight in the face, sending him falling to the ground in surprise. Sprawled on the floor, Isaac heard the unclear yells of students, along with the girl's horrified yells.
''Oh god- I am SO sorry'.'
He spat out some of the foul purple liquid, wiping it from his eyes. It was all over his uniform, but worse yet, splattered around the classroom. Splashes of purple fanned out from their table, even reaching the far off-chalkboard.

From his spot on the cobblestone floor, he saw the second horrifying event happen with complete clarity. The blue thing that the girl had added to her potion, had now toppled into his. Hissing began as the blood mixed with the liquid, along with the crackling of glass, and the telltale bubble of a cauldron.

"Get out of the way!"

Here we go again.

In seconds, another explosion filled the room with purple gases, and the potion's contents flew out all over the students. A second wave of purple rained down on him, as well as the unfortunate girl. If the classroom was a mess before, it was absolutely ruined now.

Wiping his eyes clean for the second time, he staggered to his feet, dazed. This was not how he imagined Potions. Not for an instant.

The Hufflepuff girl was looking distraught, her curled blonde hair so soaked that it appeared brownish. "It's fine," he assured the girl, wringing some potion from his sleeve. "It could be worse."

And the second he said that, he ended up slipping for the third time over a stray puddle, landing flat on his face. He really shouldn't have opened his mouth.

The second dose of the potion felt a bit like karma, the substance getting into her clothes surprisingly quick and she tried to ignore the fact that Salamander blood and a variety of other disgusting ingredients were now one with her hair and skin.
"It's fine," The boy assured "It could be worse.".
Primrose was just about to tell him to not jinx it, because she was Primrose Edwards and her entire existence could very well be a curse upon this classroom, and that's when he slipped.
The Hufflepuff brought her hands to her face, covering her mouth in shock as the room silenced. A student could be heard snickering as Primrose quickly helped the boy up, holding onto him so he wouldn't have to fall yet another time- that time it would most certainly break something. She quickly inspected his face, placing her hands on his cheeks as she moved it from left to right.
''Nothing is broken, though it's hard to see under all this uh- potion? If you are bleeding'' She nervously muttered, looking at the professor wading through the crowd of students.
''I believe it would be best if we take a break from todays assignment, everyone go clean up- except for Miss Edwards and Mr.Ambrose''

She knew what that meant, while they in no way had done this on purpose; cleaning it up would ensure that just in case they did- they wouldn't do it twice. Her eyes scanned over the room, purple dripping from the roof and she didn't even want to look at the book on the Professors desk.
''I would like you two to clean this mess up'' With a flick of the teachers wand the two students didn't look near as dreadful as before, the liquid moving back into the cauldron and leaving them looking just a little bit like soaked cats and not drowned ones.
''Whether you do this before or after getting changed is up to you two, but I want this place just as spotless as it was before.'' A harsh look was sent to the two, as the Professor left the room. It was completely silent as the few students left had now grabbed their things and quickly evacuated, just in case another explosion was doomed to happen.

Primrose let go of the boys face, probably should have done that before- and pulled slightly on her hair with a disgusted frown.
''I'm sorry I got you involved in this.. Professor Nagal is tired of me causing accidents I assume and since your potion also ended up all over..I guess you're going down with me'' There was nothing but regret on her face as she looked the boy over, he was just as much of a mess that she was.
''Does your face hurt anywhere? I've fallen face first here a few times myself, it's always a different result in pain''

As he did any other time that someone touched him, he flinched as the Hufflepuff placed her hands on his face, tilting it side to side to check for damage. He tried to pull himself free from the girl's grasp, not to be rude, but because the discomfort was almost too much.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." he stubbornly insisted, waving his hands. Touching his face briefly, he was relieved that he didn't have a broken nose again. His nose was already a tiny bit crooked from the last time he'd faceplanted, hiding out in the Rehearsal Room.
''Whether you do this before or after getting changed is up to you two, but I want this place just as spotless as it was before.'' A harsh look was sent to the two, as the Professor left the room.
Isaac scowled as Mr. Nagal glided away, leaving the two students with what felt like a monumental task. The other students skittered away like dogs with their tails between their legs, dragging their stuff with them. No doubt they didn't want to be involved in any of this. The dungeon already stank badly, and with time, would smell even more strongly of salamander blood and herbs.

Looking at the room, he felt even more fury towards the professor. Glass still lay all over the floor, and some of the purple liquid was still dripping from hard-to-reach places, like the ceiling.

"I'd be easier to do something like this if we knew real magic," he muttered, casting a rueful glance to where the potioneer had retreated.

Where on earth was that instant-spell that cleaned everything?

The boy turned to his left as the girl pulled her hair, sounding apologetic.
''I'm sorry I got you involved in this.. Professor Nagal is tired of me causing accidents I assume and since your potion also ended up all over..I guess you're going down with me.''
"It's fine," he offered the blonde with a shrug. "Nagal's a git with a stick up his rear anyway. Besides, those instructions didn't even make sense. I bet if we work together, we can finish this in no time."

Maybe even cheat our way out of this somehow, he thought crookedly, unable to stop the smile that was growing on his face. It was a good prospect for both of them. Imagine the look on that tosser's face...
''Does your face hurt anywhere? I've fallen face first here a few times myself, it's always a different result in pain.''
"Doesn't hurt much. Maybe a bit around the nose," he admitted, "but nothing too bad."

It was a bit concerning that she was a falling expert, but then again, Hogwarts was full of towering rooms and slipping staircases.

Offering a hand sopping with purple liquid, he turned up his smile from sun-bright to electric and blinding.

"The name's Isaac. Nice to meet you by the way."

"Nagal's a git with a stick up his rear anyway. Besides, those instructions didn't even make sense. I bet if we work together, we can finish this in no time."
Primrose let out a laugh, she liked this one- quite a lot so far.
''You will be happy to know we are getting a new Potions professor soon then'' She smiled, removing her outer shirt so that only the dress-shirt underneath was worn. If she was going to clean she might as well be dressed for the occasion. Her hand going onto her coat pocket, luckily her Hufflepuff Overcoat had gotten spared- sort of; the yellow scrunchie being a happy find as she tried her best to put up her curly her that was an absolute mess.

He had a nice smile, she decided in her mind as the boy smiled and assured her that he was okay, causing her to nod slightly; smiling just as brightly.

"The name's Isaac. Nice to meet you by the way."
''Pleasure to meet you, Isaac! I'm Primrose- Primrose Edwards'' She was honestly sort of excited, a new friend was almost always a good thing-even if she somehow always met her mates through chaos and destruction but still.
''So, where do we even start with this..we haven't even been taught any spells to like..clean- are we supposed to do this by hand?'' She whined, kicking some of the potion and groaning as she walked around and assessed the chaos. ''My clumsiness will lead to my death, I'm telling you''
She cringed as she saw one of the books had gotten completely covered, hopefully it wouldn't be too damaged after being clean- otherwise her mum would be sending her an howler within the week.

''You will be happy to know we are getting a new Potions professor soon then''
"Good riddance," he said, cheering up immediately. The second that Nagal was gone, he'd have his own party in celebration. Or maybe...the last day before the professor left, he'd raid the Potions storage room and take some ingredients to twist his knickers.

He slipped off his outer black work robes, pulling them over his head. The things were soaked terribly, and he walked over to a corner of the room to put them down. He'd deal with that much, much later.

Beneath his robes, Isaac wore the standard white button up-shirt with the Gryffindor crest, a red and yellow house tie, and plain grey trousers. Eyes sparking, he rolled up the sleeves of his shirt right away, which, unnoticed to him was buttoned up unevenly.
''Pleasure to meet you, Isaac! I'm Primrose- Primrose Edwards''
He nodded, taking in this new fact in stride. Primrose certainly didn't seem that bad so far, and she had a lot of promise of getting into mischief. Well, not that they'd be doing that right away, considering their punishment for the exploding cauldron incident.
''So, where do we even start with this..we haven't even been taught any spells to like..clean- are we supposed to do this by hand?''
"That's what he would say," Isaac muttered, squinting as he thought about the odious teacher. "But that's not what we're going to do. We're wizards aren't we? There's a spell for this, I'm sure of it."

He picked up a soggy book, and dumped it unceremoniously on the table. Opening up the squishy cover, he tried his best to flip through the pages. But all it talked about was a bunch of boring potions ingredients.

Eyes skimming the pages, he asked Primrose in the meanwhile, "Did you take any notes from Charms? I didn't really bother, but old Henley or Arty might've mentioned some cleaning charms the other day."

If she didn't remember, it was all a-ok. They could try to escape the classroom and steal something from the library.

Thinking of it reminded him of his old Library Heist, and he felt a twinge of unexpected sorrow. But he ignored it. It was useless to feel disappointed over.

]"But that's not what we're going to do. We're wizards aren't we? There's a spell for this, I'm sure of it."
Primrose couldn't help but let a smile form on her face as Isaac said those words, her sleeves rolled up; she was ready for awful chores. Then again, Louis most likely had to suffer this stuff daily so maybe it'd build character? Or allow her to practice something cool, who knows!
"Did you take any notes from Charms? I didn't really bother, but old Henley or Arty might've mentioned some cleaning charms the other day." Primrose stod in her place for a while, the cogs turning in her head as she suddenly made a rather inhuman sound of exclamation, of course!
''Well- It's not from charms but I have something!'' She called out, running over to the books she had dragged with her to her class so she could spend her break outside, not looking for books- the irony of the situation. She practically threw her transfiguration book to the side as well as her astronomy book when she raised a journal like book in the air.
''Ta-da~''

Primrose walked over to Isaac, moving some of the equipment and uh- cleaning some potion from the table and putting it down.
''I've never used the spell but my mum explained it to me before I left, soft of like a fun thing to learn- yeah?'' She started flipping through the pages, stopping on a page.
''I think it's going to be taught to us in ..fourth year or something, I don't know. But it's the scouring charm? It could work?'' She looked at her new friend with excitement, sure this could end awfully. Broken glass everywhere or soap in their mouths but it as exciting all the same, something new and nothing like what they had done before in school. Sure a bit advanced for the two, but it was a learning curve- right?
''There is a cleaning spell that is similar, but I have no idea how it works- though I'm sure there should be books in the library on it'' If they could make Professor Nagal's face drop as he returned to a surprisingly and disgustingly clean Potions room? she would honestly break into the forbidden section. It was to help people, sort of. So it wasn't entirely wrong.

really sorry for the delay. I wasn't subscribed to this rp at all and hadn't bookmarked it. I promise I'll reply promptly next time
''Ta-da~''
He was immediately fascinated as she hoisted a journal up into the air. Was it him, or did Hogwarts students tend to carry journals of some kind everywhere? There had been Emile, from Gryffindor, and Kona, from Ravenclaw, and now Primrose.

The pages shone like snow in the gloom, and she flipped through them rapidly. Lines of neat text were printed across each page, and he wondered exactly how much time she had spent simply writing in it.
''I've never used the spell but my mum explained it to me before I left, soft of like a fun thing to learn- yeah?''
He wouldn't call learning a cleaning spell fun in any way. If he knew cleaning, it was grueling and annoying work. The time that the sauce stains from a busted pot of spaghetti had flown everywhere, it had taken hours to scrub away. But who knew? Maybe magic had an exciting way of making things all tidy. And from the way she spoke of her mom, he figured that she must've been an experienced witch.
''I think it's going to be taught to us in ..fourth year or something, I don't know. But it's the scouring charm? It could work?''
Fourth year?

Are the teachers bloody crazy?

Why on earth would they learn something plain like cleaning in fourth year! By then, they'd already be old enough to be doing the most daring things, off on insane adventures, fighting dragons and trolls. To learn a mundane thing like cleaning would be the bane of his existence. He could already imagine it. The calm face of the Charms teacher as she went on and on about how to say a cleaning spell, holed up in a room. Awful.

Isaac thought about what Primrose had suggested. A scouring charm sounded like it might work. It sounded like it'd clean the place deep enough so they wouldn't have to lift a finger. And that was good enough for him.

Mirroring Primrose's look of excitement, he was right about ready to try it out.
''There is a cleaning spell that is similar, but I have no idea how it works- though I'm sure there should be books in the library on it.''
Another cleaning spell? That was unexpected.

Why can't they just have one spell for one thing, he thought in slight exasperation. Of all the actions to have two spells for, Isaac never would have thought cleaning was one of them. Wizards. He would've thought that they were cooler than this.

Oh well.

Feeling the call to action, he gave Primrose a determined glance. "Okay, here's the plan. We try the scouring charm out first. If it's bollocks, we go on and 'borrow' something from the Library, just for a little. The librarian won't even notice a thing. Then, we try out another spell - the even more advanced one."

There was no mention of detention, because in truth, he didn't really care. This punishment from Nagal was already a detention in itself, and he knew he and the Hufflepuff would find a way out.

Primrose nodded curiously, this boy sure had no intention to follow rules- not that she could complain. Primrose may be a Hufflepuff but she had gotten into her fair share of trouble since joining the school.
She looked down on the page, putting her wand behind her ear for the time being; it was a lot easier to remember where it was that way- and it actually never fell of somehow.
''Scourgify, movement is like an S. Oh sweet- it can clear out small infestations of Bundimun.''
She looked surprised at the fact but simply shrugged slightly and kept reading, mumbling under her breath.
''So, I think it's limited to certain objects- so we may have to uh, use it multiple times? Good Practice I suppose.'' Primrose hummed slightly as she secured her sleeves once more and nervously removed her wand from behind her ear.

''Lord have mercy on me'' She whispered as she cleared her throat, carefully memorizing the movement as best she could.
''Scourigfy'' She stated carefully, no effect. She frowned at the dirty cauldron- well, she wasn't too surprised even if it was a bit embarrassing.
''You wanna give it a go?'' She looked at Isaac, clearly a bit bitter.

Primrose looked back at her notes, did she miss something? In the end she was hardly an expert at charms even if her grades may say diffferently.

''Scourgify, movement is like an S. Oh sweet- it can clear out small infestations of Bundimun.''
Isaac held back from cracking up over her words. 'Bundimun'? What on earth was a bundimun? That was a magical creature, really? The magic government couldn't have come up with a better name? Well, if Bundimuns needed a cleaning charm, they must've been dirty creatures then.

Primrose serious surprise made it even funnier to him. He snickered beneath his breath.
''So, I think it's limited to certain objects- so we may have to uh, use it multiple times? Good Practice I suppose.''
It was not only disappointing that wizards had an advanced cleaning spell, but doubly as disappointing that you had to use it multiple times to even work. Wasn't magic supposed to make things easy?

Primrose seemed nervous. The Hufflepuff had tucked her wand behind her ear, blonde hair frizzy and sleeves rolled up.
''Lord have mercy on me'' She whispered as she cleared her throat, carefully memorizing the movement as best she could.
Lord let Bundimuns stay away, he thought, hoping that Primrose would succeed.

She waved her wand in an 'S' shape, saying the incantation carefully and perfectly.
"Scourgify."
But the cauldron stayed filthy, full of salamander blood and weird blue liquid, mixed together into purple slop. Not a single speck of liquid had disappeared.

The Hufflepuff stepped back, looking crestfallen. He felt equally as miffed. What kind of spell was this? It didn't even work for a simple cauldron, and they needed an entire room cleaned before sundown.

Whoever wrote this book was a git, he firmly concluded, a barmy git who didn't know his head from his rear.
With that unsavory idea, Primrose tucked her wand away. ''You wanna give it a go?'' She looked at Isaac, clearly a bit bitter.
"Sure." he said with a shrug. Pulling his wand out of his pocket and twirling it in his fingers, he held the stick firmly. Ollivander's words returned to him - his wand was perfect for healing, not anything useful, just healing.

Well, that didn't mean he could try the spell. Making the arc of an 's' in the air, he pointed straight at the cauldron. "Scourgify."

Like expected, nothing happened. The cauldron remained infuriatingly dirty, and was it his imagination, or was it beginning to smell even worse than before?

He stuffed his wand back in his pocket, before turning to Primrose. "No need to be sad. We'll just go to Plan B."

At Plan B, he already looked more lively. Mischief twinkled in his gaze. "Restricted section, here we come. I've already been coming up with a plan, a good old diversion. Do you want to be the bait, or should I be the bait?"
