Eun-ji winced when her clothes caught aflame precisely at the moment she thought of how much she hated the fire-making spell. Still, it was nothing new and after several years of duelling, one got used to the burning sensation. She was far more invested in the fact that her whole team hit this round and Slytherin wasn’t doing so well. That one, she was definitely glad for, considering they clearly aimed to get rid of her specifically.

“Good job.” The witch nodded at her teammates. They all went to this duel quite wary of their opponents but so far, they were doing okay. They failed miserably here and there but always managed to pick themselves up. Even if they were to lose in the end, nobody could say they went down without the fight. Once again, she was glad to be on the Ravenclaw team. Not just because of their skills but also because of their mentality. Seeing the snakes spiting venom at each other for not doing well was nothing new but Eun-ji never understood it. She had witnessed animosity within the Slytherin team several times and it hardly ever seemed helpful.

The more fog was on the stage, the hard it was to see. What she was sure of was that the whole Slytherin repariforsed in their trackable habit. But this time there were at least 5 effects produced by 3 duellists. Impressive. Effective.

Cassius didn't want to keep it that way, so he repeated the Crackers and missed everyone but Dmitri, who was bleeding again. What was that with Cassius' spells that made them so — it was a secret for Meenauh. But that was it. Eun-ji failed to hit with not a bad Ventus, and Damion tried to help Eun-ji, but somehow that Extinguo was too hard at this point of the duel.

Dmitri breathed deeply as the soothing warmth of the Reparifors sunk into his bones. At this point in the duel, countless number of spells would have already been cast, and this could be seen in the faces of the competitors.

Maybe not so much on him, though. In the years that he has performed in this sport (this duel being his last), he knew where his limits lay.

And he was clearly still far from it.

For a minute in the fog, it was almost peaceful. It was still a duel with incantations and the pop of crackers and the glow of spells, but the only spell that touched her was the soothing boost of healing—not just her own spell, but from her teammates, too. The fatigue was swiftly pushed aside.

In the fog, however, she couldn’t see her opponents anywhere near well enough. Bridget was still ever aware that they were running out of time, and they’d had more missteps and missed opportunities this duel than they could feel secure in. They would have to finish this well.

When in doubt, try try again. Or something like that. The cracker jinx was a good spell. Effective, even if much of its effect in this instance had been wasted. Still, it had not backfired on him as Damion's spell had. Again.

Cassius knew better than to scold his fellow team captain. Mistakes happened and while they were incredibly frustrating mistakes, he already knew his teammate would learn from it. Or so Cassius hoped. He hoped he had instilled in his team the kind of dedication and focus he had put into it. Cassius did not know how the other duels fared but they were so close to another championship he could feel it. Though the odds were stacked against them, he was going to do his part to see them through to the end.

Well…it would appear their luck from last round had run out. Eun-ji was hoping to at least get rid of the flames but although Damion did try to help her, his spell failed him once more. Perhaps distracted by the burning sensation, she did manage to cast her ventus but it never reached her target. At least Cass succeeded albeit only partially. Well…at least none of us managed to hurt ourselves.

The mass healing from the Slytherin side was both frustrating and a relief. Relief because there was no damage coming from their side in this unlucky round yet frustrating because they looked so much better now, which was never a good sign.

Well-protected by her own unintentional nebulus, a great wave of healing swept over the Slytherin team. Astrea— who had been otherwise spared the unorthodox bloodshed of her teammates— was by now an old hand at Reparifors, casting it over both herself and her teammates with little worry for the spells striking at her feet. It was only due to Ravenclaw’s peculiar that the simple cracker jinxes hadn’t been more destructive— indeed, a few well-aimed confringo splinters would have been more difficult to dodge.

Only a few rounds remained and they were far from finished, yet it seemed that all duellists upon the piste were simply making up for their mistakes. How inglorious of their record, to fight the battle well-fought with mutual mistakes rather than plain casting… But it was no defining matter, for Astrea was not one to take disadvantage lightly. The end was near.

While the fog was still going, the healing continued. Bridget healed herself, and then Astrea helped her as well. It seemed Bridget was really not in the shape by that point in the duel, so she needed something to shake things up.

Eun-ji conjured a shield, but it wasn't needed, because Dmitri went for Damion with nothing else but Confringo. The edge of the explosion got his arm, but the pain was real nevertheless. Damion tried to reply with an Expelliarmus, but Dmitri dodged it without even looking at it. But what he didn't dodge was a simple Flipendo from Cassius, which hit him in the nose, causing more bleeding. Now, Meenauh definitely knew something was up with his wand or whatever. They would need to talk after the duel.

Casting Confringo always put Dmitri in a good mood, evidenced by a little smirk on the corner of his lips even as his spell only grazed its target. There's something he'll miss about all this—the explosions, the sparks, the sounds, the bangs, the thrill... It's something he feels he'll be searching for even after his time in Hogwarts came to an end this year.

"Let's make this count." He'd say more to himself than his teammates.
