Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
Welcome everyone to the second match of our Duelling Beta Test!
A new Duelling System has been in the making for some time now, and starting today we are finally able to show you what the team has been working on. Places as testers have been offered to the top students of the month of May, of which so far all have taken to the task with great ethusiasm.
We will be playing the test duels with the new 6 Stat System, as some of you may already be aware of. This is a Second Year test match, putting the participant's stats to either 35 or 40 points depending on whether the duelists choose to be a special race or not. A minimum of 1 point in Stamina is required, and the maximum amount of points in a single stat is limited to 10. Abilities are not yet included in this test.
Your duellists today are @Scott Alexander from Gryffindor House and @Elena Jones from House Slytherin. Please give a hearty round of applause to them as well as the moderator of this match, our Hufflepuff Head of House @Caradoc Browne !
Both duellists, please post your stats underneath this post so the duel can commence.

THE DUELLING STATS
THE STATS EXPLAINED
For these tests, we will be testing out a new 6 stat system. Please read the details below to understand them.
Stamina: This stat determines a player’s durability. In duels, this will determine a combatants health. This is your health points in a duel.
Evasion: The stat determines a player’s ability to physically react and move quickly. In duels this will determine a combatants chance to dodge an incoming spell. This will help you dodge incoming spells.
Strength: This stat determines a player’s physical ability to hold or lift. This stat is unlikely to be used in duels as the rules don’t allow for physical contact between duellers. This is not currently used in duels.
Wisdom: This determines a player’s skill at spell-casting, accounting for things like correct incantation and wand movement in a duel. This will determine casting success. This will help you successfully cast the spell in the first place.
Arcane Power: A measurement of magical potency. This will determine spell damage. This will determine how much damage your spell does.
Accuracy: A stat which will determine a spell’s chance to make contact with an opponent. This will help you to hit your opponent.
The minimum word count per post is 100 words. You can find your duelling spells here.

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
A swift and final glance at his wrist, as if there had been a magical pocketwatch signaled the professor the time had come. With a steady and somewhat casual pace, he entered the stage. A pair of sunk-in eyes with a deep blue tint to them twinkled between the two opposing students. A reassuring and friendly smile greeted them both before a more stern and gloomy look took over. He drew his wand and pointed it to each as he spoke.
"Mr. Alexander.. Miss Jones.. Remember what you have been taught. As far as I recognise that these things can get ugly, do try to have a nice and clean duel. May the best student win."
With a rapid turn of his foot, the professor dropped off the stage and took position near the center. With both his arms rested on his hips, he seemed to straighten his posture. This time, not a stern but more determined face staring both students down as they greeted and bowed to one another.
Being rather new himself around the castle, he did not recognise either of the two students. Though he knew their respective houses, there was little he could tell about them. Meaning he had to be on guard. Children could easily get infuriated in losing something as simple as a school practice duel. Finally, as the suspense had filled the room, the professor took a deep breath.
"On my mark..."
"Begin!"

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
§
The Hogwarts Duelling Club had started, the only way to think about this, she supposed, was ‘Oh Goody’. There had been a lot of extremely dangerous happenings around the school, so this was either a brilliant idea for the ages, or bound to end in despair,
Elena nodded politely at her opponent, his last name was Alexander but she had heard his name before... Scott, that was it. She went through her mental list of spells and sorta remembered the cabins catching fire due to well placed fire spells. Fire appeared to work particularly well for her.
Elena raised her wand and cut the movements into the air with efficient fluid movements, “Incendio Duo!”
Actions: Cast Incendio Duo

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
Scott hadn’t actually imagined himself signing up for the duelling club when he first heard about it, thought it wouldn’t exactly be his sort of thing, but when the offer came and he couldn’t come up with a reason why not, he accepted anyway. After all, he’d get to use the spells he’d learned these last two years- and it would probably be a lot of fun, even, as long as no one actually got hurt.
It was the new Hufflepuff Head of House, Professor Browne, that was to oversee Scott’s first duel. He gave the man a polite nod and smile as he addressed them, and later turned to face and bow toward his opponent.
”On my mark.... begin!"
Elena, because Scott could remember that that was her name, was fast to her wand. Pointing it to Scott, the Slytherin pronounced these words:
Oh.”Incendio Duo!”
The heat and the flames were present, but there was no time to be shocked now- only to do something about it. Quickly, Scott drew a shield-like formation in the air before him with his wand, and exclaimed “Finite Incantatem!”

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
Caradoc's eyes flared up in the mirrored image of fire extending itself towards the young Gryffindor. The Slytherin girl had been quick to act and seemingly effective. Was that the succesful casting of a counter-spell he heard? The gust of magical energy seemingly escaped the boy's wand as soon as he got hit. Doc would show a pitying smile as the light dimmed.
"Poor lad." He sighed. "Should have remembered that one does not protect him from direct attacks. A for effort though." The professor noted more so to himself than the random student who had found their way next to him. He had no clue who was standing with him, presumably one of his Huffles he guessed. The duel simply demanded his attention. There were no hard feelings, he decided for himself.
Both him and the student could not help but grimace in the anticipation of the boy's pain. Being set on fire did not seem like the right kind of an unforgettable experience. At least it shouldn't be. Doc folded his arms as he readjusted himself on his feet. Miss Jones did well for her first round. Mr. Alexander's robes were still aflame as he stood up straight, having survived the brunt of the attack by now. The scent of charred cloth rapidly spread across the room. Or was that hair he smelled?

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
"Oh... OH!"
Now, Scott had never been particularly "scared" of fire. He liked bonfires. He liked candles... But he had to admit, and this he realised quite immediately, that the case's actually quite different when it's your own robes that are set ablaze. Who would've thought?
Once his feet were under him and his head had stopped spinning, Scott only needed to lift his left arm up to fully understand what had happened, and in less than a second (a second spent darting his green eyes worriedly from Professor Browne to his now deadly foe, Elena) the pain made it... well, painfully obvious:
His eyes stung and his arm flung. It was as if the heat from the fire pushed his face away with an invisible force of air, and as if the light of it tried to attract and blind him at the same time. Scott, as he tried to hold back yells and cries of pain, shook in thought of what to do. He only knew what he wanted to do: id est, to roll on the floor and somehow get these goddamn robes off that his mother had taught him to always button all the way (which he realised now must've been because she secretly wished for her son to be burned alive).
But even as all of these very tempting thoughts crossed his anxious mind, one fear distinguished itself between them: Elena still stood with her wand drawn.
Scott didn't dare let that be the case. So he, forcing his mind to forget about his pain for just a little while longer, pointed to her with his still well wand-arm and yelled out this from behind the wild light she'd conjured:
"Flipendo!"

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
§
The increased power fire spell, worked an absolute treat. Scott was very on fire, but then again he did try to use finite incantatum on them, well at least Elena was reminded that that didn’t work on the fire spells. Time for a new plan, she decided, while facing down the next spell. A flipendo, Elena tried to dodge the flipendo and threw back with her own idea.
The tickling charm, highly distracting, slightly damaging, and damage was the word of the day against better opponents, or just ones who don’t get knocked out easily.
Elena aimed at Scott, “Rictusempra!”
Actions: Dodge Flipendo, Fire Rictusempra

Match 2 - Scott vs. Elena
"AYYYE! THAT'S IT!" Caradoc eyed the student next to him who seemed to have jolted at least 5 feet in the air. "I- I mean.. well done children." He motioned to the stage. "Carry on.."
The fact that the Head of House had been unable to restrain himself from getting excited was all thanks to a brilliant display of wandwork by both students on stage. true to his Gryffindor family, the young man had pushed through the pain and was now showing his teeth. With admirable determination, the young Mr. Alexander had managed to cast a knockback jinx straight at Miss Jones. Fast as the Slytherin girl was, she had seemingly been caught by surprise as she took a full hit from the spell smashing into her chest.
Not that she had left the round open without a fight for the Gryffindor boy though. With expert technique, like a graceful serpent. Miss Jones had managed to cast a tickling charm, hitting her target without much complication. The professor could not help himself applauding loud and clear for both students. The anticipation for what was to come next, rising slowly. He nudged his neighbour student a final time to pay attention instead of staring at his weird behaviour.
