Unforeseen Uncertainty
July 15th, 2024 - Tent - @Tommy Patterson
A summer camp... a summer camp?! Why would her mum send here there of all places. 'Things will change for you' she had said, as well as 'This way you can make some friends before boarding school starts' Gee thanks, mum. She wasn't some little kid in need of hand holding or needed some kind of program to make friends. Her mom was likely worried for some reason that this boarding school would kick her out. Perhaps, not so bad of an idea actually. That way she could get her normal life back instead of all this headache inducing stuff about 'Magic is real, yippy skippy' to somewhat quote that god of alcohol wrongly.
Well either way, she was here now, wherever that was. London, somewhere, she supposed at some kind of Quid Itch Stadium, which, she has been told by her father, who had been told by whoever had told them about the boarding school and 'huge opportunity', was some kind of fantastical sport played with cleaning supplies. Short: Boredom pre-programmed. Though Oonagh supposed she could at the very least check it out and get a laugh at them and their stupid antics. She truly had to take a road trip all the way to London so she could 'make friends' which of course, once more her parents stressed would be such a huge opportunity.
Angrily muttering to herself she pulled open the zipper from her suit bag and began to toss some of her stuff onto the sleeping area she had claimed. If it turned out to not be unclaimed before her entrance, she would just spook them away or fight them for it, shouldn't be too hard. From all she knew about magical people they tend to be walking sticks with flashy robes and some kind of knack for speaking in riddles and looking stupid. She was convinced this was all some kind of huge mistake, she had never done anything magical in her life aside from being the best person anyone could have asked for. Either way, if she had to be stuck at this summer camp, she might as well make the best of it, possibly at the expense of others.
Who was she kidding? Definitely at the expense of others...

Summer camp, FINALLY. Tommy had been working out the entire break before summer camp and he finally had some nice muscles to show. 'The ladies will LOVE this. Will they even recognize me anymore?' he thought to himself.
Then something, no someone caught his eye. A girl that appeared to be a first year, Tommy reflected instantly on how confused and overwhelmed he was when he first arrived at Hogwarts. Sure, this was not Hogwarts BUT he was one of the summer camp planners, and he could potentially answer any questions the girl has, or will have in the future. It was hard to tell which school the girl belonged to she did not show any affiliation as far as he could tell. After all, if it wasn't for his one and only friend @Dorion Andersonanswering his questions, he may still be lost in the corridors trying to find his classrooms. He wondered for a moment if they would be attending summer camp?
The thoughts of his one and only friend could wait. For now, he had to approach this girl, who seemed a little disgruntle. "Excuse me, is everything okay? My name is Tommy Patterson, I'm a second year Slytherin... Well, I'm going to be at the start of the school year at least. I'm a summer camp planner, so if you have any questions, please let me know. Are you lost? Can you not find your tent?"
Tommy was genuinely trying to help the girl. He reflected on his lies from last year. He made absolutely no plans to stop. If anything, he planned to lie even more, just in a more convincing manner. He would wait until at least the second sentence at the earliest to lie to someone, no more than one sentence lying. Without a question, the girl would be hearing about how he was a renown seer before this interaction ended but for now: rapport building.
The old Tommy would instantly think the girl could potentially be a mentor, but now he was mature, he knew better. Mentors must be selected carefully as to not make any more mistakes in associating with people who do not deserve to be mentors. Tommy would judge the girl accordingly. Mind you, his standards were not very high. One simple condition was really all that needed to be passed: Do not be a bully. But if you asked Tommy, this new condition was the utmost highest standard and to be taken EXTREMLY seriously.

Being interrupted by a voice as she was tossing her stuff on the bed, made her aggressively snap her head up, the mass of curls looking as out as control as always as she turned to the boy. "Yes, of course, everything is perfect," she snapped sarcastically and rolled her eyes. "This is meant to be a stupid Summer Camp, where is the fucking summer?" She hissed. Her stuff was all suited for summer weather, not whatever ice age this was. Though she was sure that even if it had been a normal summer, she would have found things to complain about. This just made it way easier for her to claw into something.
"Also what do you mean? We are in the tent right now, are you okay?" She tossed back the question and looked at the boy quizzically. "What's your name again?" Before her stood a boy that was, well, looking like a boy... and not much older than her. "Wait did you say you were one of the people planning this? What about summer camp made you think 'I wanna freeze to death' huh?" Was she perhaps ranting a tad much? Not really and if anything it was his fault for talking to her anyway. What about her looked like she wanted to chat right now? Her parents had signed her up for this stupid camp, fine, but that didn't mean she would have to actually find friends here. If anything she would find ways to make this fun and that, in her lingo, meant causing as much trouble as she could possibly fit into one month. Impressions had to be made and souls crushed. She had already put her name on some of the events that promised even an ounce of excitement.
"What's your deal anyway?" she asked as she tossed another pair of shorts onto the bed. Well her clothes wouldn't do much with the cold. How was she supposed to know of such wizard-y tricks? Ridiculous truly...

Tommy was pleased. The girl said everything was perfect. Summer camp was already off to a huge success! At least that is what he thought at first until the girl started calling the camp theme stupid. It was Tommy who suggested the theme.
Tommy began kicking the ground beneath his feet like a defeated child and mumbled, "I know it's summer, but I thought winter would be a cool theme. Sorry you don't like it."
Tommy tried to be a bit more chipper with the girl. He was an organizer of summer camp; he was responsible for cheering students up (at least in his mind). He had to make sure the girl was having a good time. "Oh, I guess we are tent partners. I didn't know I would have any other than Aleks, but I also didn't really pay attention since I was daydreaming about the event I am going to be hosting on July 19th, down hill broom sledding!'
As for the theme, Tommy thought for a more political answer. He knew the girl was clearly not one for politics, but he also had a feeling no matter WHAT he said she would argue. "I thought it would be easier to stay cool and beat the summer heat with the cool cool winter breeze. Pretty ingenious, I know. You're welcome." Tommy puffed out his chest and put on the most smug smile he could.
He would continue going into his much rehearsed monolog about himself. "My deal? I thought you would never ask. I, am THE, Tommy Patterson, renowned seer of Slytherin house. I have made countless predictions about the future. Perhaps if you are lucky enough, I will have a vision pertaining to you and your future. Or, if you would like, I could provide you my autograph. It's not worth much now but in the future I'll be one of Slytherin's greatest beater's of all time." With the last sentence Tommy began to flex his newly acquired massive muscles (Obnoxiously Strong).
Surely the girl would be impressed by him now. "What about you? Who do I have the pleasure of meeting and what is your DEAL?" Tommy emphasised the word dealing, feeling it was some new cool slang he did not know. If it were meant to be aggressive, he of all people, would never pick up on such a thing.

"Yeah yeah, very 'cool' so cool it is absolutely freezing out there... I only packed summer clothes, but good to know you are to blame if I get frostbite!" she huffed and to ensure her corny joke and sarcasm wasn't lost she did the bunny ear thing for the 'cool' part. She checked her bags once more and tossed the clothes in them around and if Tommy was snooping he would see that she had told the truth, that all her stuff was literally summer themed; so there was an abundance of short sleeves and pants that wouldn't even reach her knees and if they were longer were ripped or otherwise broken down fashionably.
"I had no idea about any of this really. I mean I have been to a kid camp before but the tents there were all small and basically toasters. But my mom signed me up for this, to 'make friends before school' and all that crap," In all her bubbly anger and frustration some strands of hair had fallen into her face as she was rummaging through her stuff and trying to blow them away with small gusts of windy breath were to no avail, if anything it frustrated her even more und she threw the clothes she had been holding onto the bed angrily and wiped away the curls so she could actually see the grease-haired fool who had the guts to admit to her to be one of the organizers of this 'summer' camp. "I hope you step on a Lego..." she muttered under her breath, barely audible but mostly for herself anyway, when he further explained his reasoning in a way too cheerful manner, before crossing her arms and looking him over.
"A Seer?", Well apparently he could say things that intrigued her after all. She raised a thin eyebrow and looked at him quizzically. "Well if you really are a Seer, I am sure you don't mind proving it, right?" Unless of course you are a liar and chicken out, or worse, get it wrong," she taunted before unfolding her arms and hiding them behind her back. First however she had to make some things clear. "I'm Oonagh, and if you really are a Seer perhaps I will accept that autograph of yours... actually if you don't get it I will keep it too, to expose you as a fraud!" Now wasn't that a challenge to be terrified of? Mind you she kept her hands behind her back, shielded specifically from his possibly prying, cheating eyes.
"Now, if you are a Seer like you say you are, answer me one simple question: How many fingers am I holding up?"
