The harsh sound of the train whistle was almost deafening as Primrose made a poor attempt to block out the schreeching with her hands; her mothers fingers carefully laced around the tie she was tying around her daughters neck, seemingly not even caring one bit about the sound. People stared as they walked by, the grey bird on her mothers shoulder causing a bit of an uproar as it wasn't exactly what you'd expect someone to bring along to drop off their kids. Primrose gave her mom a pouted look, removing her hands from her ears and groaning.
''Mum! I'm sure the tie is perfect- please stop? And why did you bring Belmow with you? He is glaring at everyone!'' She whined, the bird that was rather used to loud noises in general simply moving itself to sit on the cart that had her luggage on it.
''Belmow doesn't like being alone, you know that. Now then- what were the rules?'' Her mother straightened her back, Primrose mimicking it with her head held high.
''No bullying, No mean pure-blood elitist friends and only smiles!'' She stated with a grin, her mother smiling a rather sad smile and nodding.
''You are growing up Dove, it's amazing.'' The young girl rolled her eyes but hugged her mother nothing less.
''We will miss you Primmy, write a lot- alright?'' Her father Richards hand left the girls hair, he had been helping her correct the bow in her hair as he was making on and off conversations with Louis to the side.
''Will do, if Louis doesn't make his creepy Owl eat my letters.'' She glared at her cousin who simply shrugged.
''Primrose.'' Her mother warned, carefully giving her back the books she had insisted on carrying with her.

''Louis be a dear and help her with her luggage, please?'' Primrose watched her mother walk over to her older cousin, nothing but love and admiration in her eyes as she hugged the boy. Louis was like a son to her parents and a brother to her, she had been here on his first day of Hogwarts six years ago and now he had to be here on hers. After a few tearful goodbyes and Primrose dropping her books more than once, Belmow tightly sat himself upon her mothers shoulder as the two kids dragged themselves onto the train.
''I love you mum! Dad! Please don't forget to write, or I'll like- floo myself home or something! Don't send any howlers!'' She called out, earning a laugh from her parents and a roll of the eyes from Louis.

The train was packed, her older cousin helping her with her luggage as they passed multiple carts.
''Louis won't you please, please, pleaaasee sit with me?'' She begged, putting on her best puppy eyes as her cousin groaned in annoyance but opened an empty cart.
''Fine, get in Tiny.'' The boy sighed, a hand going through his longer hair as he pushed their luggage to one of the compartments above them. Primrose bolted to the window seat, leaning forward to look outside. The steam was rising from the ground outside and people were all starting to board the train.
''I swear, if one of my mates don't get in here I'll end up in Azkeban at the end of this bloody trip'' Louis stated through clenched teeth, sitting down with his own book and leaning back- his owl perched on his shoulder. A habit her mother had forced him to get used to. Primrose simply stuck her tongue out. Arse.

"Aye we gotta run!" One of Kamryn's brothers yelled as they group of four started on a sprint. The express bellowed out a sharp tune. Everyone's already said their goodbyes to their parents long ago. Mr. and Mrs. Greer not being able to make it to see them off this year. Instead entrusting everyone's safety on the eldest child, Christopher.
The last passenger was just about to get on before the Greer's stopped themselves to get in. The books Kamryn was carrying where heavy. Her brothers offered to store them for her along with everyone else's stuff, but she insisted. Starting to regret that decision. The four of them were extremely unkempt. Crooked ties, torn sleeves from the old hand me down robes, and now they were covered in sweat.

"See now we'd be lucky to be able to nab a car to hol' all us." Leonard snickered as he pushed the massive rolling suit case used to store the families clothes.
"Be a 'ole lot easier if sumone dinny make us late." The youngest brother, Thomas, slumped forward with a huff. "An' I refuse to sit wit Chris's Quidditch buds again."
"'Ey comon, they ain't that bad." The three of them started bickering with one another. Leaving Kamryn out of it. Not that she minded. She was too busy gawking at how well furnished the express was. How magical everything around her was.
Kamryn drowned out the noise of her brothers. Instead finding interest in peaking through the cart windows to see what everyone was up to. There were carts filled with experienced wizards of Hogwarts, catching up and sharing summer stories. There were carts filled with people around her age, giggling and getting to know one another. To think she'd be stuck in one with her loser brothers.

After a long time of snaring at one another, Leonard found them a cart. It was near the end of the Express, with a cart full of first year boys across from it. "Is that Louis, my boy?!" Leonard wailed, pushing their suitcase through the cart door. Kamryn following right behind.
Her brothers quite quickly made themselves at home in the cart. Must of been someone they new that Louis person. Yet there was also a girl, around Kamryn's age, peering out the window that caught her eye. Kamryn took a seat beside the other girl. She seemed much more approachable then Louis. "'Ello, who are you? I'm Kamryn- first year!"

"Is that Louis, my boy?!" The sudden wail caused her to jump, Louis practically throwing his book to the side with a loud laugh.
''Leonard, bloody hell- I thought I'd be stuck with Tiny myself'' Louis stated with a grin, Primrose glaring at him with so much seething range she could manage right now. She smiled brightly at the girl now next to her, reaching out her hand.
''Primrose Edwards, First year as well'' She beamed, happy beyond belief to have someone her own age to get all excited with. Louis was never really excited about anything with Hogwarts anymore.
''Right- Leonard, meet Primrose. Just call her Primmy or Tiny or whatever, my cousin.'' Louis stated nonchalantly, giving a treat to his owl- most likely a dead animal knowing the demon on his shoulder well.

''You are a menace'' She stated with a frown, Louis rolling his eyes at her comment and returning his attention to his friends.
''Don't mind him, call me Prim or Primrose- he is just being an arse'' She sighed, looking at the girl next to her. ''Are you as excited as I am? I could hardly sleep knowing I'd be at the most magical place ever created!'' The excitement was practically radiating off her.

Anyone meeting Primrose for the first time had quite the shock, this was something she knew from experience. With every word of joy she spoke her blonde hair in two pigtails with curls would jump as she gestured or moved wildly and happily, her cardigan with niffler prints on it showing just as much color as her personality currently.
''What house are you hoping to end up in? My mum said she thinks I'll be a Gryffindor but Pa' thinks Ravenclaw for some reason. I think they are just wanting me to end up where they wanted to be or was ya know? Because Pa hated when he got sorted into Slytherin.'' She rambled, not realizing she did so until Louis cleared his throat.
''Let her speak as well Tiny, save your breath for Hogwarts as well.''
''Oh, sorry Kamryn!'' She turned to the girl looking rather horrified. She hadn't meant to ramble on like that!

The sudden and chipper response from the other girl shocked Kamryn back a little. Though the banter between her and Louis. "'Ell it's nice to meetcha, Prim!" She gave a bright smile, settling into her chair. As tempting as it was to call this girl "Tiny," Kamryn didn't want to make this train ride anymore unbearable than it had to be. And knowing a girl that didn't absolutely hate her would be a plus as well.

Kamryn loosened her already messy tie. Oh how she hated how her parents dressed her up so much. It was all stuffy, a pain in the arse. She became more chipper once Primrose started speaking again. She would've hated if she already scared the girl off. Talking to her brothers can be fun, but they all seemed pretty preoccupied with Louis. "I sure am! I've been lookin' fowar to comin' ere as long as I've lived!" Kamryn pushed herself up on the cushioned seat. Straightening up her back and leaning forward evermore as to fully express her joy.
"What house you askin'?" Kamryn's jubilant hopping settled down. Sinking back into her seat and waving her legs back a forth. Her feet could almost touch the floor. Almost.
"I'm thinkin' Gryffindor! My brother's are there too! Well except Thom. It's also ere me mum was and her mum and her mum!" She started putting more energy into every motion. Unphased by the other girl's apology. Be a mess if she got onto someone for something she's by no means innocent from doing.

"So you from a wizard family? You look it." Kamryn got in Primrose's face. Inspecting the other girl's features. She was much better dressed than Kamryn. Embarrassing her slightly, making her go to readjust her tie once again. Eventually it will be right.
"Oi, Kam! 'Ow what typea question be that? Learn some manors, 'eah?" Christopher bopped the back of her head. He was laughing, and so was everyone else, but it was clear he was serious.
"'Ey! I was just curious!" Kamryn covered her head, soothing the goose egg forming on the back of her head.
"'Ell it was rude. You apologize to Tiny now, kay?"
Kamryn moaned, "'Ine, I'm soory, Prim."

''It's not Tiny! It's Primrose'' She whined, leaning back with a groan as she glared at the boys.
''But you are just that sweet cousin, tiny'' Louis hummed, ruffling her curly hair as he reached over Kammryn.
''You are ALL the worst'' Prim huffed, looking at Kamryn with a big smile.
''I'm sorta hoping for Gryffindor! I want to be able to tell mum I know what the common rooms look like as well so we can tease dad together'' She finished her wish off with a giggle. ''I think you are going to become a Gryffindor, because you have that flair about ya!'' The blonde nodded to herself, practically able to hear her cousin roll his eyes.

''And yeah! My pa's one of those pure-bloods, and ma is a half-blood like me.'' She gestured to herself with a thumb and started to swing her legs back and forth slightly. ''Most of my family are stuff like potioneers or Wandmakers, Louis mum is a suuper good potioneer'' She nodded to her cousin who didn't put energy on even acknowledging his family. He didn't like talking about it much, it would be a miracle if he had even told these boys anything other than Primrose being a thing.
''Though- mums a magizoologist and dad is a uh... what was it called again Louis?''
''Just call it wizard copper.'' Her cousin muttered, clearly not too interested to get into the inner workings of her fathers job.
''..Fine- He works within the ministry'' She sneared, looking back at the girl with a smile.
''What about your parents? What do they do?'' She moved closer to Kamryn, excited and curious beyond belief.

Kamryn couldn't help but laugh at the girl's nickname and relationship with Louis. Covering her mouth as she let out a snort. "You say I got 'flair' uh?" She blushed slightly at the... complement? "It'd be cool if we both get Gryffindor!" Kamryn exclaimed a little too loud. Not that the noise wasn't drowned out by the chatter of the four older boys.
"See me mums a pure blood. Real awesome witch yeah! Me dad on the other hand was muggle born. I think he's good with magic but I've no clue." Kamryn looked triumphant. Always glad to flaunt how cool her mum was.

"'Ey, should you really be sayin' all that?"
"Shut up, Thom. See Prim, Thom here's also real into that potion stuff yeah. I think potions are au't lame. Nothing more than mixin' stuff, there's no fun in that!" She snickered. Holding some self validation in off offhandedly insulting the scrawny Ravenclaw who sat in front of her.
"Me mum's doesn't have a job. She used to be a teacher 'er at Hogwarts, but she left that job Christopher's second year." Kamryn gestured to her eldest brother to make sure the other girl knew who she was talking about.
"Me dad on the other hand is a mail-carrier. He say it's all he does but we all know that's a lie. He just won't tell us aboot his wizard-y job, and it's sooooo laaaaaame." Out came an exaggerated sigh followed by the girl's chuckled a snort. "But ee's real cool still."
Suddenly, Kamryn shot up and shook Prim's shoulders. "You say yer dad works wit the Ministry?! Man that's so coooool! I love seein' people toss aroond spells and charms! So much cooler than potions and history." Her eyes sparkled with excitement and joy. She was practically beaming with it.
"I've always wanty to work wit the Ministry! How 'boot you?"

She giggled slightly as her new friend told her brother to shut up, Primrose had always wanted a sibling honestly. Someone to teach the ropes to, even if Louis would try to take that role.
''Yeah can't say I'm much of a potioneer or something- my auntie Evanora loves it but I can't help but feel like it's pretty much just..throwin stuff in a cauldron?'' She laughed nervously, not wanting to be hexed by this Thom.
''My mum actually argues with my dad about his job a lot- because he has to work a lot? Mum says he like, takes down bad guys! It's pretty cool!'' Primrose loved talking about her dad, he was her idol through and through even if she didn't particularly see the charm of his occupation.

"I've always wanty to work wit the Ministry! How 'boot you?"

The question caught her slightly off guard, Primrose had never really thought about what she wanted to do.
''Well, probably what mum does? I'm not much for Ministry work but I do love creatures and my mum says I have a knack for them!'' She quickly stood up, trying to reach her luggage- causing her cousin to laugh at her shortness properly before helping her take it down and getting what she needed out of it; throwing it back up when she was done.
''Look!'' She sat down, opening the journal filled with creature notes and doodles, some written more nicely than others- those were her moms personal tips and notes. ''My mum said I should ask the teacher if I can help him care for the creatures here- but I dunno, I bet it's just lookin at stuff all day rather than actually doing something!''

''Takes a creature to know a creature'' Louis commented, Primrose snapping her head up in the speed of light and glaring at him.
''What did you say?''
''I said yer a beast Tiny, like those nifflers. Small but an absolute menace'' Louis was grinning, Primrose practically red with anger.
''Nifflers, first of all- are a lot more pleasant than your lousy arse! And second, that's a bloody compliment- and third! Don't call em beasts you absolute dungbag!'' After her little anger explosion she sneered some and looked back in her book. ''Bloody mean, he is that one.''

Kamryn leaned forward closer to Primrose. She's always been interested in these magical creatures, but never has she ever had the chance to actually she one. Not even in a book like this. Her father said that they were dangerous and that it was better to stay away from them. She didn't read anything shown to her, only looking at the scribbles of horned houses and tiny pixies. It made her smile.

''Takes a creature to know a creature'' The remark that came from Louis's mouth made Kamryn laugh much more than she probably should've. She shouldn't have laughed at all!
The reaction that Primrose had to the simple joke was shocking to Kamryn. Off putting, yet charming. She made a mental note not to joke about these magical creatures too much.
"I dunno oe's meaner between yi two." Kamryn chuckled. "I'll try and remember not to get on yer bad side." Deep down Kamryn knew she wouldn't actually not mess with this girl. The reaction is too funny to pass up.

Her attention was shifted back to the notebook full of note. It was all so magical. Once page caught her eye the most, though. Kamryn pointed at the messy notes. "What that? I can't read yer Brits handwritin'"

''She's just sore about creatures and all that, she makes Thom and his potion obsession look bloody minuscule'' Louis muttered, his attention shifting to the trolley lady as she appeared in their door for the first time of this trip. ''Four chocolate frogs, for grumpy over there'' He stated, paying the lady for that and some more as he threw the frogs at her, Primrose catching them surprisingly well. She was accurate and a good catcher despite it all.

''That's information about the Augurey, my mums favorite creature. They are birds yeah? Called Grey Pheonixes but I'm pretty sure they aren't related. People thought their calls would signify that death was incoming, but really they just cry out when it's about to rain. Mum has one named Belmow that always sits on her shoulder, glares at everyone as they pass him. Absolute arse of an bird but super cute'' She shrugged, not really aware of how much she had rambled with little to no air.
''Also, Louis is probably the meanest. He put a dungbomb in Leandra Wolfe's luggage a year and had got a howler from my dad. He lost it when he found out at the breakfast table.'' She sent a glare to her cousin who laughed at the memory. ''And he also purposely blows potion lessons up, bloody wanker. I'm an angel reincarnated compared to that one'' She nodded, confirming her own words as she switched the page.
''Does that mean you will become an auror or somethin then? Since ya like charms and spells and stuff?'' She questioned, eyes still focused on the drawn Pheonix in her book. It was beyond her that her very own wand had a feather of these as her core, it took her breath away every time.

"BAHAAA!" The two older brown haired boys lost it at the remark over Thom's unhealthy addiction to potions. Kamryn would've joined them, too, if she wasn't so enthralled with the creatures on the pages in front of her. Snapped out of her trance when four chocolate frogs jumped into view and into Prim's hands. Shooting her head up and towards her eldest brother.

"Aye, Chris can we get something from the trolley?!"

"Did you bring money?"

"I- yer the worst." Kamryn slumped back deep into her seat. Not fully paying mind to the other girl's rambling about Pheonixes and the like until she heard, "Mum has one..." That perked her mood up. Leaning into the other girl's seat, Kamryn got herself a better look as she read the information about the bird.
"So yer sayin' y'all 'ave one these? That's awesome!" She ignored the remark about the bird being an arse. Seemed to be a trend with the people... things in Prim's life.

"Oi now Tiny! I have you know Leandra Wolfe was askin' for it there." Leonard chocked out through his laughing and reminiscing.
"Ye, and the professor would always give us the wrong stuff he's getting looney that man is!" It was obvious these excuses were lies from how hilarious Leonard found them.
Kamryn was unaware of Leonard's adventures in Hogwarts. He was often the one telling the least stories back at home during dinner. Now she sees why.

"Auror? Aye never heard of those." Kamryn stroked her chin jokingly. She's been admitably pretty sheltered when it came to the wizarding world. Unaware of things like Aurors and the like. "But I'd love to know! Tell me 'bout em."
