Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4

| ─────────────────── |
|
─────────────────── |
This round was one of the few that the boy considered a little strange, since being first, it was Rose who failed to hit the target, consequently being Elsa against his two fellow teammates, but she seemed to fail. Kim, his friend, intended to cast a spell on Hades but he quickly managed to dodge it. Was it him or Gryffindor’s were in serious trouble? It seemed so.
Lea was the only one who was able to perform the spell successfully, assuming that Kim had too little left to continue the duel, after the spells she had been receiving from the Hufflepuff team. His partner succeeded but not by hitting the target, because the girl was able dodge it. Hades in this round, chose to use the Impedimenta. In this round, he remained silent.

In the wake of that minor fiasco of an attempted spell exchange, Hufflepuff was weirdly quiet. Maybe they were distracted by their failures. Maybe, in Hades' case, he just genuinely could not get his body to move fast enough; his attempt at a Finite had failed and the spell just got worse the longer it was left.
Whatever the case, Gryffindor smelled the metaphorical blood in the water. Their opponent was sluggish and vulnerable, so it was only smart to point all three wands at him. Rose dealt the most decisive blow, a Flipendo to the chest he couldn't twist away from fast enough. Hades did manage to move enough to throw off Kim's aim, not that throwing off the aim of someone barely standing was particularly hard or impressive, but the exhausted Gryffindor did finally connect the jinx after numerous attempts, even if it was just a clip. Nicky, on the other hand, seemed to be having some trouble casting. It looked like she was trying to do too much, lacking the power or concentration to produce what she was going for. It wouldn't cost them now, but if she couldn't figure it out, it might soon.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
It went from bad to worse in a snap. Lea was still there, was still present and yet- she hadn't done anything. No spell came to mind as her wand shot forward, no target as it hovered in the space between two of the Gryffindors, no other action to take. She blanked, running only on some instinct that had yet to figure out the full idea. No dodge, no anything. How they all had fumbled, yet Hades would be the only one to suffer from it. The advantage from before quickly slipping through their fingers left Lea pulling back to try and reset for the next round. Surely the Hufflepuffs would be able to sort it out in time.

.where are you going, it is so hard to keep up, you are moving so fast, leaving me behind.────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
![]() | ── | The Hufflepuff members must have been quite shocked at their continuous failures. Even Hades appeared to be taken aback by the sudden turn-around of the tides. As a result, they ended up not being able to do anything against the Gryffindors this round, which allowed the Lions to strike back. Who knew how long that assault would continue but for now things were looking up for them. Kim managed to somehow get out a good Knockback Jinx, despite his unstableness due to both whatever afflicted him and all the hits he'd already taken from the badgers. The spell hit Hades but only just, as Hades was still able to almost dodge the brilliant blue bolt of light coming towards him. On the other hand, Rose managed to land a solid hit on Hades, dealing a lot of damage to him. Elsa once again tried to use spell spread but once again failed twice in a row to land her hits. But it didn't much matter because Kim and Rose had managed to hit and make things a bit more even when it came to their duel, which wasa good thing for the Lions. |

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Rose’s Knockback Jinx hit Hades square, though Kim’s hit him barely. It was impressive that the lion was still going, after all the Hufflepuffs had put him through. Rose didn’t think she’d be able to be so diligent to keep going, but he stayed strong and hit Hades. It was Hades, now, that was looking worse for wear, after taking two Knockback Jinxes and his movements steadily slowing, making him nearly unable to dodge anything that came his way.
Nicky’s spell failed for the second time in a row, probably because of her impressive spellcasting earlier. But a failed spell, in Rose’s opinion, was far better than no spell at all, which was what all three of the Hufflepuffs did. Had they really given up that quickly?

He was still trying to recover, until Gryffindor’s team took their turns, all going towards him. He was abruptly caught his guard off, first being Rose, and then Elsa with a spell she had already used, worth the boy of Hufflepuff who began to speak some improper and rude phrases, only being directed to her because he didn’t like me getting hit by fire at all. Would it be a lack of sportiness? Probably, but if it had been some spell, the thing could be quite different, in his opinion. Hades was not entirely certain, though.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Nicky was generally satisfied with the results of the last round of spells but she knew that everything was far from over and they had to do their absolute best if they wanted to win. She was determined to stay focused and keep going no matter what. Thankfully, Kim was still holding on and Rose seemed to be doing well. And Nicky herself was ready to keep on being awesome.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Julian knew that the only way to find out against their sudden reversal of fortune was to strike decisively against the other team. And yet, instead, he found himself frozen, wand arm extended, trying to figure out what he should be casting and who he should be casting it on. It took him too long to decide whether he should be pressing the advantage or coming to his teammate's rescue, and by the time he settled on any action, it was much too late. The Gryffindors had landed twin spells on Hades and their thin lead was quickly evaporating.

12th May 2024 - Afternoon
Getting over their momentary lapse, Hufflepuff was quick to launch into action. Hades, especially, was quick to throw up a shield between him and the relentless assault. The opposition was determined to leave him hanging on by a thread like Kim was, or better yet, take him out entirely. They would find their attempt thwarted, both Knockback Jinxes fading into nothing on impact. Nicky's spell, perhaps fueled by the frustration of the last two failed spells, survived the impact, but maybe that was worse for her. It flew back at Kim, if not close enough to be a serious threat; Hades may have tried to angle his shield to aim it, but he was still slowed, seconds away from the relief of Julian's counter spell.
His inability to aim under these conditions wouldn't matter, though, because Lea was going to finish this, finally. Kim was been in far more of this duel than Bridget would have expected, but no amount of luck or speed would save him from Lea pulling out one of the nastiest curses they knew at this age. Perhaps annoyed by their repeated failures, she chose a spell that attacked more of an area than a point. The Blasting Curse landed, and Bridget quickly called for a stop.
There'd really been no question of if Kim might withstand that, he'd been looking awful for most of this duel. Hopefully he'd feel better once the Hospital Wing worked its magic, the pain of the duel just a distant memory. But for the rest of them, it was time to finish this, their time winding down. "You can resume."

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Thankfully she had managed to shake off the sluggishness of last round to find her target: the still standing Kim. She needed something that would guarantee him gone- an attack that hurt even if she missed. It would be a struggle to cast, requiring a certain focus with a distracting Gryffindor and the panic of last round's waste, but she would manage, even keeping her wand on target long enough for Kim to feel the full blast as the duel was temporarily called to a halt. Not much longer to make a mark-
