Tent Description

On the outside, the tent is patterned with beautifully embroidered ocean waves in various shades of blue, ranging from the deepest navy to the brightest cerulean. An odd warmth radiates from this tent, and it seems to glow slightly, almost like the sun itself. It's a little slice of true summer in the midst of a July-and-August winter, and those who pull the tent flaps to open them will find them to be warm to the touch, like the tent has been sitting in the hot sun all day.

Upon stepping inside, one will be hit with a blast of pleasantly warm, salt-scented air and humidity. Curly hair, beware! Take off your shoes at the entrance and feel the sandy floor beneath your toes. The tent is much taller than it is wide, and through the far wall, you can even see the ocean lapping against an enchanted shore, the sun shining brightly down on the salty waves. Maybe one of these windows swings open and you can find a way to go swimming...

A three-story wall of blue-and-white-striped beds lines one side of the tent, and residents can choose to either climb the stairs or the ladder to get into their bunks for the night. Don't worry, the sheets are charmed to repel sand and water so you'll stay comfortable and dry all night! Some tables and comfortable wicker chairs line the other wall for seating purposes, and these are always stocked with refilling platters of sandwiches, soft drinks, and other summery snacks. Welcome to the beach!

This tent may require mild moderation. If you are interested in the Southern Hemisphere tent, please contact Aly Salinger for more information.

Ah, summer camp. This time with time at home sandwiched before and after which was nice. Though, their parents preferred the full 4 weeks with them. It was really the hardest part of boarding school, being away from them for so much out of the year. Especially the two years where they didn't go home for any breaks because they were having several breakdowns stacked on top of each other. But, they knew this was part of the deal and all of them frequently sent letters and gifts to make sure that they stayed updated on each other's lives, such as Dori's dad receiving a promotion right before they came home. It was incredibly exciting and they celebrated with a day out in London.

They were walking hand in hand with their boyfriend, Elsi, as they entered the Quidditch Stadium. Dori couldn't help but have an involuntary shudder at the memory last time they were here and the match that made them quit Quidditch when they returned to school. They squeezed Elsi's hand for their own personal reassurance, earning them a concerned glance from the boy which they waved off. "I'll tell you later. Oh, it's one of my captains! Alyssea!" They tugged Elsi towards her, where the conversation led them to being in a tent together. Which- Dori was happy to do as they had no other plans. "We'll go get unpacked then, I'll see you in there whenever you get there." They smiled and gave the girl a hug if she accepted before heading towards their Southern Hemisphere themed tent. The summer camp seemed to have a winter theme which was- unconventional, and they appreciated that.

Immediately upon walking in they gaped, stunned at what wizardry could do at such advanced levels. "Elsi- so help me Goddess if you try and break into the ocean I'll suspend affection for a week." They gave him a pointed look, but knew that when it came down to it the threat was meaningless and he would definitely try and break in through the windows. "Oh! There's sandwiches!" Quickly they abandoned their shoes and socks near the bed on the bottom row next to the tent flaps before running over to the food, which of course was magically refilling. "You know my hyper vigilance at this point- I'm grabbing the bed next to the door if you want to grab the one next to me." They were already gazing around the room, what was flammable, could the water put out a fire, if an intruder came in through the tent flaps would they wake up to it?

With a heavy breath they tried to discard the thought and walked over finishing a second sandwich half and starting to unpack. Quickly realizing that any sand that got onto the bed rolled right off. "Magic is so cool. Also, my love, if you forgot anything there's a good chance I probably packed it for you so feel free to search through my bags once you realize that you have forgotten something." They smiled at him, not a teasing tone in their voice but one that was genuine about knowing their boyfriend's forgetful habits. All there was to do now was wait for the other occupants.

Summer camp last year had been an awkward time for Alyssea. Yeah, she met a few people and talked to some of her cabinmates, but otherwise they were roommates. They hadn't really made enough connections to continue talking past that camp. Alyssea could only wonder what happened to the Koldovstoretz girl she met one morning by the campfire, or the rude guy from Durmstrang that didn't give this other guy a chance to voice his preferences on bunkmates.

This year's summer camp was frosty but only in a literal sense. She had a chance to pick who to camp with for the next four weeks and she could pick a tent theme. In a way, it was more intimate. Most of them had followed the camp's winter vibe (despite being a 'summer' camp), save for the Southern Hemisphere tent which radiated heat upon a single touch. The thought of it being called 'Southern Hemisphere' when the actual southern hemisphere was currently in the middle of winter amused Alyssea, but she still put her heart on it. She missed Australia; she missed the beach; she missed the sound of the water crashing on the shore. Even if the only thing the tent could offer was heat, Alyssea would take it.

At the tent sign-ups, she grabbed whoever she saw first and asked (more like demanded, but it wasn't important) them to make a little group. Alyssea knew Landon would be nervous during these kinds of situations, so she made sure to grab him and offer her companionship. Next was her best-friend-turned-cousin Raizel just for familiarity's sake. Then came Dorion, one of the broom racers Alyssea had captained for the last year, and their partner. Though Dorion's partner wasn't familiar to her, she figured it wouldn't hurt to meet a new person. That was the point of summer camp, anyway!

After them, Alyssea accepted Dorion's hug and let the Fates decide the rest of their tent-mates. Whether the rest would come up and ask her to join the group or just stumble upon the tent and make it their home was something Alyssea would welcome.

"Right, I'm gonna unpack everything and settle into a bed," Alyssea said to Landon and Raizel, "You guys coming?"

Whether or not they followed, Alyssea let herself be enveloped by the hot air. What she didn't expect, however, was the sea salt on her tongue and sand at her feet. They really brought the beach into a tent! Her excitement couldn't be contained at that point, with Alyssea kicking off her sneakers and digging her toes into the grainy sand. The stress of figuring out which bunk she would take flew out the window and- pause, was that an actual beach outside the windows?!

Her bags were long forgotten by the door and she ran towards the windows. "No way! Oh my gosh, is that just a projected view of the beach or an actual beach?" Alyssea let the sun rays soak on her skin. She wouldn't know what to do with herself if there was an actual chance at going down to the beach and... listening to the water. Maybe dipping her feet into the sea?

(Why was it so hard to start swimming again? This wasn't the Great Lake; they were nowhere near that watery hellhole. You can't find grindylows at a beach. What was Alyssea scared of at a beach? Besides, it happened almost a year ago, so it shouldn't even bother her now. She even successfully did a swimming errand at school and came out barely fine. If she could swim then, why couldn't she swim now?)

Alyssea briefly turned to the three-storey bunk layout and hummed. "Anyone got preferences? I'll sleep anywhere."

“I hope she'll be a fool — that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.”

❂ ⌜ A Summer Camp Tale: Adoption is Stressful ⌟ ❂
Summer Camp --:--
▪ ◚ ◚ ◚ ◚ ◚ ◚ ▪
Summer Camp. For some reason, the last one didn’t give her any long lasting memories that even the people she met during that time in the crowded cabin had become a blur in her mind. It was the reason why she was hesitant to participate in this year’s Summer Camp but Raizel figured that she could give it one more chance. The Gryffindor was in awe the moment she had arrived where it was taking place. It wasn't just the fact that this was her first time entering the London Quidditch Stadium but rather because of the winter wonderland theme that it has. Magic truly was amazing for being able to create such a winter atmosphere despite it being summer. Good thing that she was wearing something a bit warm so the cold wasn't bothering her as she made her way to the sign up area.

She was hoping that this time she gets to choose where to stay as opposed to last year where they were assigned to random cabins. Maybe she'll get lucky to see people that she already knows and get to tent with them. That was indeed the case when a familiar person approached her just as she was checking the list of tents available. One of her closest friends who also turned out to be one of her cousins, Alyssea Brown asked if they could tent together. Of course, Raizel wouldn't say no to that, especially from her cousin. There were others there, a boy that she probably saw once or so, she can't recall, even his name. The other was someone from the broom racing team? Basing it with how they addressed Alyssea as one of their captains.

And then there's Elsian Cox. Yes, the same older Gryffindor that gave them the idea of walking on a tightrope over the great lake with it tied on two brooms. Did that go well? Not really as they found themselves plummeting towards the water with her almost drowning. Thank god for the pool noodle though as it saved her life. Anyway, she was surprised to see him with the Hufflepuff Broom Racer, the one that she doesn't know the name of just yet but they look happy together, enough to bring a smile to her face just watching them run off.

“O-Oh, yeah, I'm coming.” Raizel responded to Alyssea after snapping out of her trance, trekking down the snowy path until they reached the tent that radiates warmth and the spirit of summer and its look on the outside had somehow gave an idea of what the theme is for this one even if she doesn't know the name of it. Yes, she wasn't paying attention to it when they signed up for the tent. Upon stepping inside, they were met with warmth, the salty sea breeze and a sandy shore. Yeah, magic is amazing. It's times like this that Raizel feels alive again after all the doom and gloom episodes that she’s been having since February. With the way that she was eyeing that window that divides the tent’s main area and the beach, one would be able to tell that she was already wondering if it was possible to exit through there, if there are spells in her arsenal that could possibly help her in doing so.

Speaking of spells, this would be the best opportunity to learn some spells that she had researched. She has all summer to practice them, find a nice spot somewhere and just train all day. Studying? Nah, spells are much more fun than sticking your nose between boring binded papers unless they are related to spells, especially Charms.

Raizel turned her head towards the bunk beds, seeing how they were split into three levels with stairs and ladders to get to the higher levels. “I’ll take the top bunk.” She said to Alyssea before making her way up the stairs and picking the one on the third level that’s slightly close to the window, settling her things wherever she could, especially her broom. She doesn’t know why but she just felt compelled to bring that with her to Summer Camp. She found herself flopping onto the bed, burying her face on the pillow and letting herself relax and rest before she figure out what she wanted to do, whether to get a snack from their infinite supply of sandwiches and drinks or to find a way to get to the beach side of their tent.

─────Last year, Landon had chosen not to participate in the summer camp. He had gone home to his family and stayed there for the entire summer vacation, but he wanted to make more friends and get closer to the ones he already had. He didn't really know which friends would be coming to the camp, but he wanted to see them. Landon had found that his second year was much more social than his first. Landon came into the camp, looking around with wide blue eyes. His family had never been huge on Quidditch matches, so he had never attended any games here before, but now that Landon was playing Quidditch on the Hufflepuff team, his parents were more interested in taking Landon to see some professional games.

But as of right now, Landon hadn't seen one, and this was his first time at the London Quidditch Pitch. He grinned as he looked around the pitch, trying to see if he could find anyone he knew well enough to want to talk to them. He felt a little lonely; his twin had chosen to stay home because she couldn't "stand being trapped with idiots" during a time when they had a vacation from everyone. Landon was lost in his thoughts, unsure of what tent he would choose to stay in for camp. He jumped a little before a smile spread on his face as he saw that Alyssea had approached him. He relaxed, knowing that Alyssea wasn't going to abandon him now that she knew he was there, and expressed his affirmation that he would gladly share a tent with her.

He followed her to the tent sign-ups and signed up for the one that she indicated. He had looked at the tent options, but he hadn't felt that strongly about any of them, so he was willing to join the Southern Hemisphere tent. It was one of the few that weren't winter-themed and, while Landon liked winter well enough, he was somewhat grateful to have one that felt more like summer. Landon dragged his luggage behind him as they approached the tent, watching as Alyssea gathered others to join them. He didn't really know any of them, though he recognized Dorion because they were in the same Hogwarts house as he was.

Landon walked into the tent, his eyes wide as he took in the decor. There was sand and it was warm. It even smelled like a beach. Landon smiled and set his luggage to the side as he watched Alyssea kick off her shoes and sink her toes into the sand. "It's lovely," he said with a smile. He looked around, scanning the beds. He didn't have a preference for where he would be sleeping. He figured it would be better if he was willing to sleep wherever other people hadn't chosen. He continued to walk around the tent, eyeing the windows that let them see the beach... or the magical view of a beach. He wasn't exactly sure how it worked. Part of him was intensely curious about it, but he didn't want to poke into things that could cause them trouble later on.

"I'll sleep wherever," he said with a smile. He was always pretty easy-going in general. "In fact, everyone can choose their beds and I'll take the one that is left over," he offered. He was happy to let everyone have their pick. Part of him hoped that he would get to sleep near Alyssea in a purely platonic sort of way. He knew her better than anyone else in the tent and he felt most comfortable around her. He was always so grateful for the fact that Alyssea always went out of her way to include him.

Outfit: The LaRue: Lemmy's go to threads! White button up shirt, sleeves rolled to the elbows. Brown linen slacks held up by suspenders, rolled up to mid calf exposing white knee high socks. Brown and beige oxfords complete the drip.
Little Lemmy had wandered around the camp for what had felt like hours. It was more like fifteen minutes, but his perception of time is as dramatic as the rest of him. What a sight it had been to visit the London Quidditch Stadium. He had seen the Holyhead Harpies play back home plenty of times, but this venue was something else! The sight of snow during the peak of summer had seen him into a tizzy as he spent even more minutes debating with himself what he should do first with it. Snowman? Snow angels? Snowball fight? Did anyone have a sled?! By the time he made it to the sign up sheet his cheeks were jolly red and his eyes wide with wonder.

A Southern Hemisphere tent?! Lemmy eyed the witch keeping track with excited skepticism. It had again taken him forever to make a decision as there were just too many options that all sounded so wonderful, but the hope for something tropical and the urgency in the adults voice finally had him setting off towards his assigned tent. His little legs stomped through the snow as he dragged his pack behind him. A gray rat sat atop his shoulder, her pink nose sniffing at the air. Lemmy had no doubt what tent was his as the many shades of blue waves covered the outside. Much to his delight the tent itself seemed to be heated! “Alright, Craaka! Nice a warm for you my sweets!” Lemmy reassured his rat before walking in.

“Oh my word! How marvelous!” The part-Goblin dropped his pack with a thud and cradle both cheeks within his large hands. The warm sandy floor, the beachy beds and the large window with ocean views left him rooted in place. In that moment he was oblivious to those around him as he began to wander. Little legs would scamper towards the refreshment table adorned with a sandwich platter, snacks and plenty of soft drinks. “Excellent. Yes, good. Oh! Must have one.” Lemmy spoke his thoughts aloud as he began to shove food items into his pockets. When he grabbed a half sandwich it was immediately and magically replaced. A fact that left him giggling like mad as he picked up two more. “One for you too, Craaka!” He nearly shouted with glee.

When Lemmy finally turned from the table he would see the others. “Oh! My manners! Forgive me. Lemmy LaRue. Pleasure to meet you all.” Crumbs would fly from his mouth as he spoke through a beaming smile. The little goblin tried, but he was often a slow learner to Grandmama’s etiquette lessons. “These sandwiches are fantastic! You should all have some. They seem unlimited! Who’s even making all of them? Its wild! It’d take me all day to make this many.” Lemmy’s thoughts came quickly and he often lacked the filter to keep them internal. Yet his eyes would drift to the beds as the others had begun to unpack. “I’ll stay there.” A long index finger pointed to the bed closest to the window. Now where did he set down that pack??

Summer had already been off to a good start.

For the most part…

The heat had been killer at first but nothing a trip to the lake couldn’t fix. Kitty hadn’t been able to get into the kitchen cabinets once since they’d returned home for the break, and he’d even gotten to sleep for a few hours with Kitty on the roof without his dad finding out! So yes, summer was off to a good start.

That good start, however, had almost slowed down to a ‘this is fine but I’m confused’ start because he was in the middle of a winter wonderland. In July.

Elsian blinked. Then blinked again, rubbing at his eyes before looking back up in disbelief- and nope, still there. Still snow as far as the eye can see, looking like some winter expedition and he shivered lightly, suddenly thankful for the few warmer layers he’d been nagged into packing ‘just in case’. Just in case indeed.

It wasn’t bad. He’d dare say it was an exciting twist! But it had been unexpected.

Is this…normal for camp?” He’d asked Dorion as they walked, curious, because they’d actually been to camp before unlike him. “Cause I don’t remember anyone ever talking about the snowball fights after break.” Briefly pausing in their walk he’d taken a moment to scoop up a handful of snow, packing it into a snowball to play with as they wandered before holding Dorions hand again with freshly ice cold fingers. There’d been no answer, at least not immediately, and the lack of response save for a shiver had the boy giving Dori a pinched look of worry.

Hey, Creampuff,” he bumped into them slightly, “you okay?” Concern shrugged off he simply hummed, returning the squeeze.

He didn’t know Alyssea but he didn’t know most people, so he let himself get dragged along. Begrudgingly letting go of Dorions hand to let them hug their friend he offered a small wave. The other 2 were just as unfamiliar, or so he thought at first glance. Raizel looked familiar, if a little different, older maybe? And it had Elsian struggling to place how he knew the other as he and Dorion both walked off to the tent.

Thought still nagging the back of his brain he swept into the tent right after Dorion eager to put down his back pack and relax. “I swear I kno-” He silently gaped at the tent, looking down at the sandy ground his shoes had kicked up upon entering, “woah…” It was so warm there, like perfect napping conditions, he would already tell the snowball he still had was not going to last in here; he grinned, kicking off his shoes wanting to feel the warm sand. Green eyes wandered as he worked, taking in the beds, the table, the ocean… “do you think we can-

"Elsi- so help me Goddess if you try and break into the ocean I'll suspend affection for a week." Dorion threatened, and it was enough to make the boy crumble into playful dramatics.

What!?” he squawked, abandoning his shoes and socks in a corner as he whipped around to face Dorion. “That's not fair! You can’t do that to me!

Of course, he got no response. Because sandwiches were serious business but Elsian had never been a quitter.

Doriiii!” He whined after them, louder this time. Gently he put his enchanted backpack on the ground, taking extra care to not jostle the small attached carrier Kitty was in as he undid the hook. Plopping it safely on the ground by his bag.

No response. Save for mentions of Dori claiming one of the beds.

Wordlessly dramatic he plopped Kittys carrier and his bag on the bed next to the one Dorion took as a claim of his own, alongside the slightly melting snowball he’d brought inside, before flopping to the sandy ground face first with a miserable, garbled, groan. This was the first impression the others would see of him as they walked in, sprawled out, face down in the sand because his boyfriend was endlessly cruel. He didn’t care if he was being embarrassing in front of the others, Dori couldn’t do this to him! “You don’t love me anymore.” He said whined into the sand, sounding more like a pitiful, ‘ou don ov e anore’.

Slowly, oh so slowly he turned around to flop on his back, staring up at Dori from the floor as they smiled at him. “I didn’t forget anything,” he huffed confidently, tipping up his chin as much as he could with his head digging into the sandy ground, “I used the list you gave me.” One hand going to his pants pockets he dragged out the crumpled up note, sitting up to slam it on the bed in a fake, proud manner. “I even packed double-

Leaning over he dragged himself to sit on the bed, pulling his bag into his lap. Digging through it he smoothed out the note between his and Doris beds, pointing out the written item with the most circles and underlines under it. Toothbrush.

He pulled something…not quite the right size out. “See? I even-” he pulled out a 2nd identical item, looking down at it with a pause. Hair brush. 2 hair brushes.

Silently he checked the pockets on the bag. He checked again, double checked-

And promptly buried his face into his hands in disbelief.

...hand the bag over.” He sighed, one hand held out in a silent plea for extras he knew his partner had packed. Forgetful habits indeed…

For what was supposed to be a Summer camp, the organizers had chosen an interesting overall theme. The London Quidditch Stadium had been covered entirely with snow, because apparently some people needed to invest in a calendar. Maybe Renelle was old-fashioned, but she much preferred it being hot in the summer and cold in the winter, as nature had intended.

It wasn’t like she could do much about it however, and no way was she going to let a little bit of frostbite get in the way of an awesome time. Besides, the place did have a sort of Antarctical charm to it. First time attending this event, and she was pumped to see what they had in store!

The stadium was big. Luckily, the map helped. Not much thought, and pretty soon Renelle was wandering and weaving around the seemingly endless clutters of tents, feeling slightly distorted. She stopped for a moment. Right, step one. Find a tent.

Astra was not with her this time, which meant she didn’t really have anyone certain in mind to share a tent with. Actually, now that she thought about it, she really ought to spend more time with her best friend. It was like they hardly even spoke the last few months of the school year.

Pushing that depressing thought to the back of her mind, Renelle pulled out the itinerary a planning committee member had gifted her at the front gate. Hmm. She supposed she would see if anything on the schedule actually turned out to be enjoyable soon enough.

True to the whole winter wonderland theme, most of the tents seemed to be varying degrees of cold and white. There were fortunately a few which fell outside the mold, and those were the ones Renelle planned to have. She would have enough of freezing on this trip without purposefully subjecting herself to even more.

Renelle somehow found herself in a very southern hemisphere vibed tent. The sand, seashells, beach. Her kinda place. It was pretty full already, but a simple head count revealed that yes, there would be a spot for her. She didn’t think she recognized anyone here, but maybe that would be for the better.

One of Atlas's all time favorite season was summer. The young boy looked forward to the summer as is one of the most enjoyable seasons. He was looked forward to his father getting him ice cream and bathing in the pleasant sunny weather every summer. But this time, things were different.

The young boy knew nothing about magic or his heritage before getting admission to Hogwarts. Now that he was at Hogwarts, he had not yet discovered the majority of the things, and time seemed to have passed by quickly. Unexpectedly, he was chosen to be a Slytherin Prefect on his first year and he was one of the top pupils. What a time to be alive.

It was announced that the Summer Camp will be held at the London Quidditch Stadium this year. Atlas was looking forward to the summer camp event and interested about what would happen.

After giving things some serious thought he found himself entering the Southern Hemisphere tent. He was a bit anxious about who will he meet when he arrived and it appeared that people were already inside the tent.

He entered the camp and greeted anxiously, "hello there, everyone!" . The young prefect grinned at everyone while admiring the scenery. He wasn't very shy about meeting new people and the tent hr chose seemed interesting and it appeared to be comfortable.

Dori groaned at Elsi's expected eagerness at getting to the ocean, sensing disaster in the air with the spells that he had in his arsenal. His pitiful whining into the sand finally got their attention, mostly because they didn't want him eating sand. Which he would continue to do if Dori didn't help end his protest. "Fine, but only if everyone else agrees that they wouldn't try. Wouldn't be very nice if we got them in trouble by accident." They gave him a quick kiss before other students entered, "And of course I still love you, for that to stop the world would simply have to end." A light blush colored their cheeks as they ruffled his hair playfully to diffuse the lovey energy before returning to unpacking.

Items slowly moved into the spots that Dori seemed fit for them, wondering how their toothbrush would remain sand-free. Was there a repelling sand charm they knew? They knew a lot of spells to turn sand into something, but no so much how to keep it at bay. They hummed a sort of noise that communicated 'Of course you didn't forget anything', they loved him so much. Which also meant they knew sometimes- even with help- things went awry. They looked up, not moving from their own items, hands paused wondering what item they could fascinate him with by pulling out extra of.

"I- Elsi, you barely even brush your hair. How did you- you know, you astound me in every way possible." They couldn't help the sunshine-y giggle that came out as they dug through the bag and tossed him the extra toothbrush and toothpaste still in their packaging, a little hello written on the back from Dori's parents to Elsi. "You can go through my stuff once I'm done with everything I need. And if you're going to take my clothes you have to ask first, you haven't returned half of my cute sweaters." They fake pouted in his direction, and doing so they realized they were so invested in their lion boy that people had come in without their noticing.

It seemed like Alyssea was also into the beach, which made Dori's heart flutter in a way that they couldn't tell if it was good or bad. Beach? Good. Possibly getting in trouble? Not great. "I think it's an actual beach. Me and Elsi have set up, but we can always move if someone really wants this spot." With Alyssea came a younger girl, her hair was incredibly long, and for a moment Dori missed their long hair. The other was someone Dori recognized from their own house, though a few years younger. "Hey, Landon right?" They gave him a small wave, finally deciding to sit on the bed that they had claimed for now. Their cat, which had definitely been here the whole time if anyone asked, curled up next to the window already taking in the sun.

Next- was perhaps one of the most joyful first years Dori had ever met, a boy named Lemmy. Dori vowed that he was one that Dori would protect in an instant should anything happen. He must be a first year, so young and full of life and sparkle, which meant he had no spells. Which meant he would be an easy target. Next was Renelle, a girl Dori only knew from the last brutal Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor Quidditch match that left Elsian as the last one on the pitch. Ugh, that had been brutal. But she was probably sweet. To round it out, A prefect from Slytherin, and their heart seemed to ease. Well, if they got the prefect on the beach side everything would be fine.

But Dori- had a moment looking around. None of these people... were sixth years. Or seventh years. Or fifth years. Or- oh Goddess, were any of them even fourth years? They looked so young, and Dori couldn't remember any of them earlier than- 2 or 3 years ago. Dori suddenly blanched pale white. If anything attacked them at Summer Camp, Dori and Elsi were now responsible for SIX little babies that had not seen the horrors in the early years of their school. Were there emergency exits in here? Maybe they would need the beach to escape. Maybe this would be fine. This would probably be fine- right?

They quickly jumped up off their bed, "Uh- hello, for everyone that doesn't know me, I'm Dorion, you can call me Dori. I use they/them pronouns. I'm a fifth- ah, sixth year now I suppose. I know an incredible amount of spells. Please let me know if you're ever in danger and I will come help." Was that too ominous? Too late to really wonder. They walked over to Elsi, hopping up on his bed since they were a tad bit shorter than him to whisper in his ear. "Brownie bite, we're in a tent with babies. Should anything happen we're the first line of protection, what if they get seriously maimed?" Only one person had died to their knowledge at Hogwarts, but he was at the last ball alive. So they didn't really know what that deal was. But still, the stress pounded in their chest, and they were looking for reassurance from Elsi. They swore they could feel the giant circle scar on their leg from the sting of a mosp during 2nd year pulse with pain. But that was definitely fueled by paranoia. It is visible, they are wearing shorts. So it is an open option for interaction should anyone feel inclined.

The bottom row was quickly occupied by Dorion, Dorion's partner, and Lemmy. Lemmy was a completely new name and the boy was, surprisingly, very short. Clark (the name didn't roll off her tongue easily, anymore) had also been quite short despite being in the same year group as her, so whatever he had, Lemmy must've had, too. It suddenly dawned on Alyssea where she had seen Dorion's partner before; they were the one with the sparkly sign trying to bribe people to take down Finnegan way back when. Elsi. Elsi someone, whatever their full name was, wasn't a total stranger to Alyssea, at least.

Raizel took one of the two top bunks, leaving one more and then three beds in the middle row. Humming, she took her bags from the entrance, jogged up the stairs and circled to the bed underneath Raizel's in the middle row. "I'll sleep here!" Top bunks weren't exactly Alyssea's cup of tea, having gone on Muggle camping trips and waking up to spiders on the ceiling.

As she opened her bag to assess what should be taken out and sorted, she yelped as Raizel jumped down onto her bed. Little Rusty, who had been resting on one of Alyssea's duffle bags until she picked her bed, sprinted towards the headboard at the sudden greeting. Alyssea chuckled and pet the fiery feline. "Well, hello to you, too, Rai." permission by Rai to say this has been granted

Head count! Raizel, Landon, Dorion, Elsi, Lemmy, and Renelle made for six people she knew the names of, for one reason or another. The last person that came in was a partial stranger to Alyssea; he was on the Slytherin Quidditch team that beat Hufflepuff in the final stage of the year. What position did he play? No idea because he never left the bench.

Dorion introducing themselves had Alyssea questioning if she should also do the same. When she did her head count again, she figured it wouldn't hurt to make her name known. "My name's Alyssea Brown! I'm a... Third year, now, and I use she/her pronouns." She clapped.

"Oh! And don't be scared of this one." She picked up Rusty and let the boy hang out on her shoulder like he always did. "This is my cat, Rusty. He's a bit shy but very affectionate once he's gotten to know you. He won't scratch anyone's clothes or sheets, promise."

She gave him a little scratch behind the ears before prying him off her shoulder and putting him down on the bed again. Once all the introductions were done and dusted, she resumed unpacking her stuff from her bags. She had packed a month's worth of clothes, mostly in closet staples and basics, toiletries, and other necessities like Rusty's toys. He always slept in her bed, so she hadn't brought his. The only books she brought with her were the worn Percy Jackson and the Olympians set (courtesy of her brother's bookshelf), The Secret Garden, and smaller stories that had been hole-punched and tied with string by her mother. It was unlikely she would read every single one but at least she had an option for entertainment outside of the camp activities.

When she deemed everything perfect, Alyssea climbed down the ladder closest to the windows. As she came down, her eyes were glued to the shoreline rather than on her own hands on the ladder. If there was a chance they could go to the beach, then surely one of these windows was the entryway?
