With big blue eyes and delicate features, one might mistake Lexie for a porcelain doll at first glance, but her lively nature and loud American voice quickly puts a stop to any first impressions of fragility. Lexie is always moving, and as a result her hair and clothes always appear slightly windswept or askew, perhaps a button missing, or a thread coming loose from a sleeve. Admittedly, she is quite vain, but her self-conceited ideals about her appearance are hardly misplaced; she's a very pretty girl, and there's just something about her that seems to stick with people. Standing at a petite 137cm, Lexie is slightly shorter than most girls her age, but she carries herself with enough confidence to make up for it, and although not particularly strong, she's a fast runner and her reflexes are quicker than lightning. Her restlessness and sense of adventure means she's often getting herself into all sorts of scrapes, but years of ballet have left her with a slender, graceful figure, and there's no denying that there's a certain distinguished air to her every move, speaking to her wealthy upbringing and social class. Lexie's sense of fashion is quite feminine, and as she's grown up with mostly the Muggle side of her family, she tends to favour Muggle trends over wizarding ones.

Lexie is a force to be reckoned with. She is very temperamental, with her moods often swinging from one extreme to another at the drop of a hat, and her feelings are often felt intensely, as her parents could probably tell you from the number of tantrums she threw as a toddler. However, contrary to what one might think, it is not easy to take advantage of Lexie’s emotions, as she is quite intelligent and has no qualms about manipulating others to get what she wants. While she is unafraid to speak her mind, Lexie is far from honest and is quite a good liar, although she will not lie without reason. Growing up with money and privilege has given Lexie the impression that she can do or say literally anything, and everything in life will still go her way. It has made her stubborn, forceful, and impatient - in short, she’s a bit of a precocious primadonna; if she wants something, she’ll get it no matter what it takes. Lexie has an independent, fiercely competitive spirit and does not like to ask for help, nor does she typically offer it to others. Although she does very well in school, she often clashes with teachers as she holds next to no respect for authority figures. Still, in spite of her many flaws, Lexie truly means well, and strangely enough, she seems to find friends wherever she goes. At her core, Lexie is an outgoing extrovert, and her boldness and self-assuredness, which are headache-inducing for most of her teachers, only make her more likeable and magnetic to her peers. If you're in her good books, her quick, sarcastic wit and impulsive behaviour make her extremely fun to be around, and she’s always thinking of new things to do and try with her friends. Lexie is deeply loyal and protective of her loved ones, and she has a strong personal moral code that she will not deviate from without good reason.

Lexie’s parents, and her family as a whole, were no ordinary people. Her father, Arthur Lovelace, was the second son of an old, wealthy, Muggle family from England, and had moved to California shortly after graduating high school to become a photographer. Similarly, her mother, Corinne Fitzroy, came from a prestigious pureblood family in America, and surprised everyone when she decided to start a new life as a singer in LA. They'd fallen in love when they were both first starting out, and the discovery of magic did not surprise him as much as she thought it would; it turned out that coincidentally, Arthur had a cousin back home who had attended Hogwarts named Alexandra Prince, who had her own daughter, Dealla. As their careers took off, they became a power couple of sorts, with Arthur known for his stunning concert photography and Corinne's beautiful voice securing record deals and fans’ hearts. When she discovered she was pregnant, it only made sense for them to get married quickly and begin to start a life together. Lexie, full name Alexandria Charlotte Lovelace, was born 3 minutes earlier than her twin sister, Juliette. She was the first of their four children, and she would spend the first seven years of her life in Los Angeles. Her parents took great care to ensure that their kids’ lives remained private, and due to Corinne's family’s magical background, the Lovelaces’ privacy was even more important. Hence, in spite of growing up with privilege and her parents’ fame, Lexie's childhood was fairly ordinary and largely unaffected from the negative parts of Hollywood, and she could not be considered famous or recognisable in neither the Muggle nor magical world. Speaking of which, both worlds, and both sides of the family, were certainly present and involved in her life. Lexie grew up learning about mathematics and science at school and then magical history and herbology at home; she played equal amounts of soccer as she did quidditch. She was a likeable child, if not a little stubborn, and she was never lonely - there was always a cousin to play and talk with, and of course, Juliette, with whom she was practically attached at the hip. In short, Lexie was happy - how could she not be? In her eyes, her life was perfect. However, in actuality, things were far from it. Arthur and Corinne's marriage had grown increasingly tense throughout the years. The truth was that they had simply fallen out of love with each other - they’d gotten married young and in a hurry, and the stress and pressure of their jobs didn’t exactly help. Additionally, the differences between their upbringings, backgrounds, and lifestyles (magical vs Muggle) caused them both to feel isolated from each other - there were things that they just couldn’t understand about each other. Although they kept up appearances of being in love in public and in front of their family, Arthur and Corinne were constantly moments away from snapping. In January of 2020, Arthur received news from England that his older brother Charles had died in a sailing accident. The entire family travelled to attend the funeral, where Arthur would be urged and convinced to stay in England - with Charlie gone, he was now heir to the Lovelace title and inheritance, and more importantly, his parents wanted him close in the wake of the tragedy. Arthur agreed without a second thought. But he had forgotten about Corinne. What of her career, her family, her life in Los Angeles? For her, this was the breaking point. Unwilling to give up everything for a marriage she didn’t want anymore, Corinne packed her bags quietly in the middle of the night and returned home to California alone, leaving only a note explaining her departure. In the next few months, the divorce papers were signed quietly, and after eight years of marriage, Arthur and Corinne split. For Lexie and her siblings, it would be an understatement to say that this was an incredibly challenging and confusing time for them all. Arthur sent them to boarding school in the countryside, with the logic that they would be better off surrounded by kids their own age rather than the grief and messy situation at home. Furthermore, although they were quite a distance from the American press, Arthur was still bombarded quite a bit with questions about the divorce, and he did not want to risk ruining the privacy he and Corinne had built up for the children. However, things did not go particularly well at boarding school - at least not for Lexie. While her siblings seemed to settle in rather well, Lexie's forceful nature clashed with her teachers. She made friends easily enough, and she was incredibly smart, but she was unwilling to listen and respect any authoritative figures; it was only the Lovelace family’s long history with the school that kept her enrolled. It was at boarding school that Lexie's first instance of accidental magic occurred. In her second month at the school, she had been skipping class and had climbed a tree on the edge of the grounds to avoid being found by anyone. Without warning, the branch she was sitting on had snapped and Lexie found herself falling to the ground. She shut her eyes to brace herself for the landing and the pain of potentially broken bones, but when she opened them, she found that she was completely fine and unhurt. She was eight at the time. Unbeknownst to her, this was the event that would earn Lexie the acceptance letter to Hogwarts, which arrived on her 11th birthday. By this time, while she and her siblings were still very much aware of magic, their day-to-day exposure of it was pretty much next to nothing. Being in boarding school most of the time meant that they saw their family members, both magical and Muggle, only on the holidays, and so their knowledge and experience with magic had faded greatly. Still, Lexie had always assumed she would attend Ilvermorny like her mother if she turned out to be magical, but she was eager to leave her current school, where the teachers hated her. So on the 1st of September, 2024, she stepped onto the Hogwarts Express with Juliette, and her journey began.

Reducio house lovelace. the lovelaces are an old, wealthy muggle family originating from and mostly living in england. a relatively private family, they prefer not to get directly involved in politics; instead, lovelaces have always been scholars, journalists, and writers. as a result, they now hold a relatively significant amount of power over the muggle press in the uk, owning a successful network of newspapers. lovelace children are brought up to be quick-witted and astute; intelligence and ambition are highly valued traits amongst the family, and anything less than perfection when it comes to academics is unacceptable.
cousins and grandparents coming soon! Reducio house fitzroy. the fitzroys are an old pureblood line from the usa, and are perhaps best known for their manufactoring of luxurious flying carriages under the family business, fitzroy coachwork. certainly on the more progressive side of pureblood families, the fitzroys move with the times, and their opinion on blood purity is that it doesn't matter. there is also a significant focus on beauty and the general aesthetics of life. academic excellence is still important, but experience with the arts is also seen as crucial, and as a result, fitzroys learn a variety of performing and visual arts from childhood.
