Mari was quite pleased that the other girl, now identified as Marla, backed up her plan, even though Mari herself had declared it was stupid. Alan, though not unkindly, did not seem too keen on the plan, however. He seemed even more embarrassed that Mari had referred to him as sir. It was quite a strange phrase, but he was older...so it was not the most ridiculous thing to say, was it?

Flushing with embarrassment, Mari smiled softly at the two. Though Alan seemed to think it wouldn't be a bother for her to stop by the Care of Magical Creature professor's door, she knew she never would. Mari Haynes was many things, but "meek" and "fearful" were perhaps two of the most obvious traits of hers. She wouldn't dare.

Both the students were quite pleasant, but given that Alan asked if he'd see them around and Mari's growing embarrassment of the conversation, she decided it would be the best to just leave. "Erm, yeah, sure," she meekly to Alan's suggestion of paying Griffith a visit. Then, with a smile, she added, "And of course, see you both around. It was a pleasure to meet you two."

As her cheeks reddened further, Mari turned on her heels and walked away as quickly as her short legs could take her. She would write Marla an owl later thanking her for backing her up about seeing Griffith. As for Alan? She wondered if she would be less awkward the next time she saw him. Only time would tell, of course. Time, and perhaps a magic boost of confidence.

What was worse than her worries about Professor Griffith was her urge to cringe at the awkward situation that had unfolded when Mari called Alan 'Sir'. Oh, yikes. The second-year Gryffindor's face went red and he had to explain to the girl that she could call him Alan. Not to be rude, but why would anyone call him sir? The boy was barely a year older than the girls, and although he was nice, Marla saw him more as an acquaintance than a 'sir'. But the small Gryffindor felt a twinge of guilt in her gut as she saw Mari's face, even redder than Alan's, she looked mortified.

The conversation took a turn Alan said that he'd see the two around, which Marla hoped was true. She found him to be one of the nicer people at Hogwarts, something that you don't see a lot. Wizards and witches were surprisingly mean. He then suggested that they should give Professor Griffith a visit, which Marla was definitely planning on doing! She found the R.O.A.M club that Alan mentioned before extremely interesting and would love to join, so that would mean that she had to talk to Griffith sometime..
"I definitely will, and I'll also check out R.O.A.M. It seems really cool." Marla remarked with a smile, hoping that all the spots on the club weren't filled yet. And soon enough, Mari was rushing to say goodbye to the two students and sped out of the small hall as if her life depended on it. Huh, she must have been really embarrassed..

Marla gave a silent wave to Alan and Mari, even though the Hufflepuff couldn't see her. She walked towards the Great Hall, a smile on her face as she thought about R.O.A.M. The girl never got to experience meeting magical creatures, or at least not yet. It would be amazing if she had the opportunity to do so.. She silently thanked Alan in her head for introducing her to the club, and thought about meeting the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor again. Their conversation was quite brief, but Marla was sure that the two were extremely nice people, and was eager to cross paths with them again.
