❂《 ⌜ February 2, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔An opportunity, that’s what this is. Her spell, that tongue-tying curse, her main goal for that was to keep her opponent from hitting her with more spells while she dealt with the annoying bubble that was blocking her view. The sneezes were starting to lessen and eventually coming into a full stop which was a relief for Raizel. It was so hard to focus on spellcasting that it surprised her that she could even manage to do so. Perhaps that’s a result of her own training with her spellcasting.
While it would’ve been better if she used this time to attack her opponent while they were unable to speak, Raizel knew that they would be alert, having no choice but to observe their opponent and what they would do, ready to avoid anything that comes their way. She would’ve taken a gamble, test out her horrible luck to see if she could still catch them off guard but she’d rather try to take out that bubble first in which she successfully did.
The view was clear once more, her opponent’s figure just in front of her. “That’s a lot better.” She uttered. She was able to catch her breath from all that sneezing thanks to her spell but after hearing Sere being able to speak once more was enough to tell her that it had worn off. Well, that’s a bummer.

Raizel vs Sere
ReducioRaizel casts Obscuro at Sere.
Wisdom DC: 10
Wisdom Check: [d20: 11] + 8 = 19 > 10 → Success
Accuracy Check: [d20: 19] + 8 = 27
Evasion Check: [d20: 2] + 4 = 6
27 > 6 → Hit
Effect: Evasion and Accuracy stats are equal to 0 as long as the target is blindfolded. Target must remove blindfold manually (requires action).
Sere vs Raizel
ReducioSere casts Flipendo at Raizel.
Wisdom DC: 9
Wisdom Check: [d20: 2] + 8 = 10 > 9 → Success
Accuracy Check: [d20: 16] + 7 = 23
Evasion Check: [d20: 10] + 7 = 17
23 > 17 → Hit
Damage: 100 + 7 (AP) × 15 = 205 HP
It seemed both enjoyed their momentary recovery, but it certainly wouldn't last for long. Almost immediately after the previous spell effects faded were wands pointed across the block to train themselves on the other. Sere would follow Raizel's previous action of Flipendo, but rather than hitting an object they would find the other Gryffindor. The casting seemed a little shaky, the spell starting a little too early as her tongue remained slightly twisted, slightly strange from the spell before. But it wouldn't be enough to stop the spell from shooting forth with full force towards the older student. Nor would be beginning hiccup be enough of a warning for Raizel as Sere's spell found its target swiftly and quickly. The blow would almost feel like a punch to the chest, forcing her a few steps back as she worked on casting her own spell.
Raizel's retaliation would hold the same ferocity as the previous attack, less of a struggle in the original cast though as that itching sensation died and Rai's nose calmed down. Their focus would be precise, the incantation clear and accuracy sharp and quick. It was almost a challenge for Lea to see the spell whizz by and it would be even harder for Sere to see it, less experienced and seeming to be preoccupied with something else at the current moment. Perhaps she had tripped? Regardless, Sere would unfortunately stand little chance as the spell squarely hit, a cloth forming in midair before swiftly wrapping around the head of the younger Gryffindor. She'd find her view of the Duelling Club now black as no light peeked past the wrapped cloth. Raizel was looking a little worse for wear than Sere now, but the other was in a more dangerous position as a significant sense had been blocked off.

Sere tried another new spell, the offensive one that she had actually just learned -few days ago- after the Winter Games. The spell which Raizel had previously chosen as her starter spell. She thought that the Knockback Jinx was too strong for just a practice session, but sooner or later this Gryffindor girl felt like she would definitely use it, and that was right: She decided to cast this spell now. The spell worked well according to her expectations. Sere raised her head optimistically, but that confidence didn't last long.
The British-Korean girl heard a spell that was, again, so new. Obs---Secure? Cure? What was the incantation? Is it some kind of protective spell you can cast to yourself? Sere squinted to see what Raizel was doing when suddenly her vision blocked by darkness. "What is this again?" Sere touched her eyes with her left hand only to realize that there is a cloth wrapped around her eyes, the reason behind her pitch black's vision.
So, that wasn't a curing spell? That was an obscuring spell! What should I do now? Sere didn't expect this kind of spell is coming on her way. I can see nothing! How could I continue the duel in this condition? Should I throw my spells to random directions? Isn't there any way to avoid this kind of debuff in the future? I hate this! Sere's mind speaking so many things, too much than what she needed it for right now: to find an exact solution to the cloth covering her eyes.

❂《 ⌜ February 2, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Oh, that hurts… so much. By now, she should be used to getting hit by countless spells, the pain from them being a familiar feeling that her pain tolerance should be a lot higher by now. She had been the last one standing in her first duel, enduring the pain and even managing to take out someone despite the exhaustion. She has her only teammate who could focus in that duel to thank for and perhaps her own willpower to stay conscious. Plot Twist, they still lost. Still, Sere’s Flipendo packs a punch but that didn’t stop her from casting her own spell as a retaliation.
“Obscuro!” Despite her short time as an official duellist, she had been doing some unofficial duels since first year and those should give her enough experience to level up her spellcasting although it still seems like not a lot had changed, skill-wise, nothing that she could see at least. Raizel sees herself as still the same as when she first started duelling, no improvement whatsoever but that doesn’t seem to be the case when she quickly whipped out that spell and even hit her opponent.
She kept herself from falling over due to exhaustion, her breathing was getting heavier the more time passes but she can still keep going. She grinned, bearing the pain, hand curled tightly around her wand. She is still in this game and she’s not stopping until she falls unconscious despite how tough it is starting to look for her. Losing to another first year? The thought was enough to make her chuckle at her pathetic self. She can see it happening but who knows, perhaps she can change her fate.

Sere
ReducioSere removes blindfold.
Sere would be put in a difficult situation as they realized the spell that had been cast. Lea had half a mind to answer her question, but ultimately decided that that might have been a little harsh to unknown spells as she opted for a quirked eyebrow and smile that the younger Gryffindor wouldn't be able to see. While throwing spells around randomly was certainly a thought, Sere would go with the simplest solution of taking the blindfold off. The only issue would be not giving Raizel enough time to cast any spell in her direction- more of a challenge when resolving a new spell.
Her struggling with the knot would give the older Gryffindor enough time to set a blaze in her direction. Raizel would be able to take her time as she almost perfected the wand movement and incantation, sending forth the blast of flame that twisted yet kept on path. Lea's attention followed the plume entirely expecting a fully scorched Sere, finding instead that the younger Gryffindor had managed to anticipate the spell coming towards her and slide out of the way. Maybe it was the heat from the flames, but Sere would only suffer a glancing burn as she released the cloth from around her head. The flames fought for survival, not yet extinguished, their power painful yet decreased. The scales tilted back in Raizel's favor, but the blows were close as the round closed and another one began.

Good Practice, Rather than Best Practice
Date : February 2nd, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said The only option for Sere in this situation, where a cloth was covering her eyes, is obviously removing it. With a great effort she tried to untangle the knot that was tied perfectly.
One thing that crossed her mind is... What would Raizel do? What spell would the girl cast on this round? Anticipating on what the second-year is going to do, Sere's other senses strengthened, replacing her vision which still completely black out at the moment. The girl who's still trying to remove her blindfold take a breath to calm herself down, and only a second after that she hears a half-unfamiliar spell being casted, and the voice is clearly Raizel's.
Incendio? But with the duo at its disposal? What was that? A stronger version of Incendio? Sere's fingers rushed to untie the last knot of the blindfold. She doesn't want another robe to be burned in magical flames. Her clothing bill will bloated!
Just as the blindfold cloth fell off her face, the light from Raizel's Incendio Duo was already right in front of her face. Sere could only dodge a little and had to let herself be hit by some of the flaming effects. Okay, this is getting serious right when she burned my robe. Sere raised her wand with fiery eyes, preparing herself to cast the next spell.WC : 222/200

❂《 ⌜ February 2, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔“Tch.” You know what’s more annoying than missing your target? Missing them while they are blindfolded, vulnerable to attacks. While she didn’t exactly miss her target, she might as well have with how her Incendio Duo only grazed her opponent despite having her vision blocked. Pathetic, really pathetic, will she ever do things right?
As much as she wanted to beat herself up due to her pathetic performance, she can’t lose her cool just yet as the duel is still ongoing, her opponent still standing. She was getting tired, not just from her continuous casting and her own bruises from Sere’s spell, but from her overall performance as well, finding it quite horrible.
Stay cool, clear your mind…
The more she thinks about this, the more it’ll make things worse. Look, it’s not that bad, her opponent is just as tired as she is. Sure, her aim is kind of horrible at the moment with how she almost missed Sere despite the younger Gryffindor being blindfolded but it still hit her, way better than when she kept failing controlling her spells during the last match and ending up almost hitting her own teammates. Not to mention, she did manage to set Sere on fire. She would’ve felt bad but this is a duel.

Effect: The target suffers –2 Accuracy and losing 25 HP per round for 3 rounds. General Counter-Spell removes the whole effect and stat loss.
Sere vs Raizel
ReducioSere casts Flipendo at Raizel.
Wisdom DC: 9
Wisdom Check: [d20: 18] + 8 = 26 > 9 → Success
Accuracy Check: [d20: 9] + 7 = 16
Evasion Check: [d20: 11] + 7 = 18
16 < 18 → Miss
It seemed as though Sere had quite not yet adjusted to having her vision returned. Or perhaps the dwindling flame on her sleeve was causing quite the distraction but while Sere would successfully cast the Flipendo spell again, the mark would be off. A nearly perfect cast and yet it would crash into the air behind Raizel, neither the accuracy nor dodge attempt anything special except that the older gryffindor had kept fully out of the way. While the first year had kept up with the second year for most of the year, it seemed perhaps her energy was dwindling. Duels were quite a bit of effort after all.
Raizel's spell wouldn't help that tiredness- but perhaps it would bring some laughter. Had Raizel used a spell multiple times? It would be the Tickling Charm this time around, taking Sere's miss as ample opportunity to cast while keeping their focus on the target. It seemed her frustration might have helped in the moment, as the attack struck true with a speed that Sere couldn't predict or escape. The initial attack would hit before the tickling actually started, scratching almost painfully even as forced laughter bubbled up from the girl. Aiming would become even trickier, yet if Sere would decide to escape it or fight through it would soon be discovered. An unfortunate predicament, Lea wasn't too sure what she would have done as she begins to bring out her own wand- just in case. There wasn't much time left in the duel.

Good Practice, Rather than Best Practice
Date : February 2nd, 2024 Color code : Written|Thought|Said Another missed spell and Sere was starting to get tired. The heat from the flaming effect of Incendio Duo had not completely disappeared and the Gryffindor girl was panting. Sere was no longer as strategic as she had been at the beginning of the match. Now all she is gonna do is trying to survive and keep her eyes open. In her turn, a spell was thrown carelessly without a lot of thinking, "Flipendo!"
The Knockback Jinx was easily avoided by Raizel. Sere clenched her teeth once again. "This is getting worse." She muttered to herself. Raizel is indeed that good in this sport. Who was convinced her to step away from duel? Herself? Then Gryffindor will definitely lose one point.
Just a few moments after the flaming effect fully subsided, Sere was hit by another spell that came out of Raizel's wand. Oh my God! I know this one! This spell was the one that made me pass out in my first official duel! Sere started to laugh forcefully. The worse thing is this spell always brought out tears that usually didn't come out easily. Sere fell on her knees and winced in pain. What should I do now? This girl couldn't think about all the complicated options in this situation. She raised her face. This could possibly be her final attack on her senior in this duel. Well, this is literally a good practice, rather than best practice.

❂《 ⌜ February 2, 2024 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Eyes on your opponent, watch what they do. Stay calm and don’t let that frustration get to you, not now at least. With those in mind, Raizel had successfully anticipated her opponent’s moves, her casting and her aim. She was prepared for whatever she threw at her this time, feeling like her surroundings had slowed down as that almost perfectly casted Flipendo tore through the air. She didn’t move from where she is just yet, and only did so once she knew where exactly it was heading for, completely avoiding it without any troubles at all this time. That was the first time she had ever avoided an attack since the beginning of this duel. Guess having a clear mind helps so much.
There was no time to celebrate however. That will wait once this duel is finished as she needs to counter, not waste this opportunity to get a clean hit on her opponent. She’ll hit her this time, she’s not gonna let something like earlier happen again. “Rictusempra!” Quick, precise, much like what she had learned during her quest in getting better at spellcasting, her frustration channeled into it.
It hit, her opponent was hit. Sere was sent into a fit of uncontrollable laughter from the tickling sensation that came with the spell. Raizel watched the scene before her and while she was glad that the spell hit, there wasn’t a smile on her face as this isn’t over yet, not until one of them is down and couldn’t continue. Duelling can be ruthless and the older Gryffindor is ready to embrace that. “The show must go on…” her hold on her wand grew tighter as she whispered those words. Does she feel bad for Sere for making her go through all of these? For those spells that she got hit with it? Perhaps just a bit. This is a duel after all and it is their job to knock each other out until one is rendered unconscious.
No stopping till then, keep fighting. Again, Duelling can be ruthless.
