Colin had originally been exploring the quiet corridors of Hogwarts, but now he was just lost. His shoeless feet made a sound that resounded through the empty hallways. Colin shivered as a slight draft made the short hairs on his neck rise. God it's freezing in here, Colin thought to himself.I shouldn't have gone exploring, no matter how much I wanted to look for a beautiful view to draw. Colin searched for some sort of door or staircase that led out of the corridor, but he hadn't found anything so far.

After what had seemed like useless searching he finally found a doorway that would hopefully lead him out of here. The doorway was constructed of a rough sort of stone that Colin couldn't have recognized even if he tried. He ran his fingers along the corner of it, but jerked his hand back. Touching the stone was like touching a block of ice, it was freezing.

Colin's teeth were chattering, he needed to find a way out of here and quickly. During one of the summers his father had actually spent time with him, he had taught him how to survive in freezing environments. Any other child might have complained about having to learn something that obviously wouldn't be important in the future, but Colin didn't. He didn't get to spend much time with his father, so he listened to the entire lesson without uttering a word of complaint.

Colin was broken out of his reverie because he heard people talking. He walked through the doorway to see who was talking. He saw a Gryffindor prefect, and three students he was pretty sure were first years. He started to back away slowly, hoping that he wouldn't alert the prefect. He may not have known much about Hogwarts, but he knew that if the prefect learned that he had been out of bed after hours that he would probably end up with detention. But his plan backfired and he slipped and fell on his back. Him falling had created a loud sound that had definite alerted to other students to his presence. He visibly swallowed and hoped that his punishment wouldn't be to bad.

I gave Kyle his cloak back and accept Grayson’s reluctantly. “She’s gonna know I skipped out on taking my medicine.” I mutter. I’d fought tall guys and seventh year boys and won before so I considered knocking Grayson out and making a run for it but I knew it would end with me getting caught in the morning anyways. I sigh, following Grayson. I glance back at Kyle and Lucian before exiting the bathroom. I keep my head down, waiting on the others to leave and Grayson to start moving. I watch the heavy snow falling outside in white sheets. Down the hall is pitch black but outside, the white snow almost seems blinding. I glance at the door as the other two exit. “Being feisty is normal for me by the way. I’m a slytherin. I fight the guys all the time and I normally win. Half the time it’s out of boredom, the other half... probably because they were nosy and got into something they shouldn’t have.” I say with a quiet laugh. I wave goodbye to the other two, really not wanting to leave at all, and they start to make their way back to their common rooms; I think that they probably won’t go back to their common rooms immediately but I don’t say anything. When Grayson stops and stares at a kid who’d fallen on the ground, I laugh, leaning against the wall and waiting on his story and excuse to get out of this situation.

Kyle blinks and looks at the kid who just showed up and fell over as he takes his cloak back from the Slytherin girl. If she game her name he already forgot it. Between more people showing up and the Slytherin not knowing how to quit while they were ahead he knew it was only a matter of time before they all got detention. He slips his cloak on and and offers a slight half way to every present

”as fun as this has been gang. I have a dorm to get back to. And by get back to, I mean I never left. And I didn’t see any of you tonight. Because I was in my bed. Asleep”

He nods to the prefect, appreciating being let off the hook, but he didn’t want to over stay his welcome so he slid his hands into his pockets and walked away from the bath room, and past the kid on the grounds ”bad timing pal” he says simply and shakes his head.

Without stopping to help up the new comer he continued to head off, as he was instructed. The quicker he was back in the dorm the sooner he was safe from a professor finding them and getting the lot of them busted

Colin glanced at the boy passing him and loked back at the prefect. He at the girl standing next to him. She was smirking, he had never really been looked at before at school so the staring made him uncomfortable. He avoided the girl's eye contact and looked back at the prefect, thinking of an excuse, but in the end just deciding to tell the truth.

"I'm sorry that i'm out of bed after hours, Sir. Bit let me explain myself, I was exploring Hogwarts, looking for a good view. I needed to find a good view because I like to draw and i've already drawn the view from the boys dormitory several times. But instead I got lost in these corridors and I was just trying to find a way out. I'm sorry. I'll accept any punishment you give me," After the last sentence Colin stood up and brushed dust off his thighs. He looked down at his feet and twidled his fingers waiting for the prefects reply. He hoped that his fathers lesson on calling people who were older than hi, or had leadership positions sir and ma'am would help diminish his sentence. He said a silent prayer and hoped that the detention at Hogwarts wasn't too bad.

Grayson jumped at the falling behind him, confused and slightly concerned. For a split second he had thought it was a higher staff, in which case Grayson would walk the students down to their common rooms without a word. Though, to his surprise, it was another student out late. He watched Kyle leave and nodded him a goodbye. The newcomer had seemed over-whelmed, so he had helped the boy up, raising his hand for the boy to stop rambling.

Grayson then pressed a finger to his lips, indicating that he needed to go straight back to his dorm. "Go back to your dorm immediately. All of us need to go back to sleep and forget about this mess. I won't tell that you were out, you just have to do as I say for the sake of everyone else." Grayson shook his head, done with this entire night. All he wanted to do was go to sleep and not worry about prefect duties.

As he looked back at Amber, he walked out with her and escorted her to the hospital wing. Not once did he stop anywhere on his way back to the common room, as he was just eager to rest. When he had repeated the password to the painting, he walked inside his dorm and threw himself on his bed, falling asleep almost instantly.

Colin nodded, agreeing to head back to his dorm. After the prefect and the girl exited through the doorway he sighed shakily and headed out. He rubbed his upper hands with his arm creating sorely needed warmth for his body.

Walking down the hallway gave him some much needed space from the smirking girl and the prefect. But especially the boy who passed by him without helping him up, he reminded him of the people who passed him while he was being cornered by the bullies. He didn't know why, he just did. It didn't matter to Colin though, he probably wouldn't ever see him again anyway.

Near the end of the hallway Colin saw a bright light. He walked toward it staring at the light that was streaming through the window. His jaw dropped, this was exactly the view he had been looking for. The sun was rising and the dew that dripped on the trees and the grass intensified the light. He needed to come back up here with his art supplies and draw the view.

Then his neck twitched and he shivered again. He added find out why this corridor is so cold to his list of reasons to come back up here. When he did come back here, he would be prepared.

Lucian watched everything unfold, her crew neck warm around her shoulders, as she made eye contact with the Prefect; his eyes flashed at her, as if he knew something, and she realized she'd recognized him throughout the halls. She didn't go out of her way to impress the Prefects, although she didnt attempt to be bothersome either. Perhaps she should grow closer with them however; power was always something she kept an eye out for. She made a mental note to introupe herself properly to the boy later, and left the bathroom with the two others boys, one of whom had just joined the party.
She left without saying another word, unaware of the falling boy, or the other Gryffindor who had offered up his cloak; she was sure she would see him around. Besides, now was not the time for introductions or chit-chat, she needed to get into bed before anyone found her out and about. She had known leaving the dorm was a bad idea, but it was just so difficult to stay up there. She often felt as if she were suffocating, the velvety red curtains and golden accents wrapping themselves around her neck and strangling her. She wasn't sure she'd ever grow used to it.

Colin rubbed his eyes and slung a leather bag on to his shoulders. The bag he had slung on his shoulders was full of art supplies. He had charcoal pencils, water color, acryllic paint, a sketch book, and a small canvas. He was going back to that cold hall to find that perfect view, he had been waiting for this opportunity since he'd come to Hogwarts. His eyes had glazed over the castle and thought of the endless windows which might hold the perfect view that he had been looking for since his Aunt Margret had taught him how to draw.

Colin had decided that he would come back up here when he found a repreive from his school work. He needed to finish his homework, no matter how odious it was to him. It had taken him a long and grueling week to finally get up here, but it was worth it.

He walked down the hallway, it was still cold for some reason. The temperature wasn't going to stop him from drawing that view though. He was excited to send the picture to his Aunt, to tell her that he had finally found that perfect view.

When he arrived at the window the sun was still rising, it was the same view he had seen that night. The dew glistened over the green grass and dripped off the pine trees. It was just a beautiful as before, if not more. He was ready, ready to draw the perefect view.

I was sitting in a nearby window, my folded up wheelchair leaning against the wall and my hands wrapped in bandages from the frost bite. I hadn’t noticed Mr. Marwen entering the corridor. Suddenly, I hear footsteps and I peek around the corner of the window sill I’m siting in and see Mr. Marwen with his art supplies. “You like to draw, Mr Marwen?” I ask, having known your name by asking around.
I stumble out of the window sill, pulling my wheelchair towards me and sliding into it. “Sorry if I startled you. I have a passion for art as well. Though, I’m more for black and white art. How classic? Since so many people believe Slytherins are evil.” I mutter, my hair in my face, hiding my black eye. I had been fighting all week and it’s ended with me in a wheelchair.

“You probably want to draw, most people like the silence when they draw. I might as well leave since you barely know me.” I say, sliding my arms into my Jumper. I sigh, turning my wheelchair towards the exit of the corridor and rolling towards it, putting my backpack on the back of my chair. “And if you have to ask how I move this thing down the stairs, I don’t. I stay on this floor. I asked to, and they agreed. I only go downstairs to get to my dorm. My friends bring me my homework and leave me alone most of the time unless they want to read to me. By the way, I’m set to have my right leg, knee down, amputated. It’s a long story, I just wanted to let you know... I’m terrified.” I say before rolling away.

Lucian was making her way down towards the Abandoned Toilets in a last ditch effort to get some peace and quiet to write to her family about her Sorting. By now, she had been at Hogwarts for about a week, and was sure her family had heard by now and just didn't feel like speaking to her; nevertheless, she felt inclined to write to them, and have them hear her plight from her. Typically she did most of her writing in the dormitories, the Library, or the Owlery; however, all of her typical places had been uncharacteristically full lately, and she didn't feel quite as protected writing to her family about the mishap in her sorting without some sort of element of privacy. She figured the Abandoned Toilets would be able to provide this for her, despite their frigid temperatures and dank smell, and knew she valued her privacy over her comfort.
As she entered the hall to the Toilets, she spotted two people she recognized; the girl who had nearly frozen last night, now in a wheelchair, and the boy who had just entered as they had been leaving, the one who had fallen. Lucian shook her head, and considered turning around; the last thing she wanted was to talk to these two again. Something about the girl, especially, had really bothered her. The way she acted as if she had been better than everything else, even the Prefect, when she was freezing, had made Lucian chuckle. Although some would have been impressed with the girl's feist and fearlessness, Lucian thought her to be quite foolish. She had always been taught how to pick her battles, something this small girl obviously had not had the courtesy of. People who fought for fun, for kicks, were cowardly to Lucian, and in all honesty, quite dull. The boy seemed alright, but not the type of person Lucian needed on her team either.
