The gate creaks as it swings open. You and you partner proceed north down this path. Instead of the cool weather, cold chilly wind blows and the sudden clear skies loom with dark clouds as if it was going to start pouring thunderous rains any second. Tall trees loom over, shading the path, somehow, making it slightly eerie. The path is littered with leaves as if it was Autumn rather than spring. On the trees are about a dozen crows staring at you with uncanny eyes as you walk as if you were trespassing their territory. Twigs and leaves crunch below your feet. At last, straight ahead you see the summer’s light and green grass. Behind the exit, another gate, similar to the one you entered from. At both sides of the gate, were two apple trees, on each of the trees hung a single eye catching red apple from one of the many branches.
Paracelsus
The Apple, it was the apple of Paracelsus’ eye. The fruit was so perfect, so round and glossy as if begging for him to take a bite. The way the light reflected off its skin was so tempting. At that instant, Paracelsus would find his stomach grumbling, and that he was suddenly famished and that apple, it looked delicious. What if he were simply to pluck it and take a juicy bite? It couldn’t hurt stay a little longer. He was just that hungry after all. It was almost impossible to peel his eyes away from the fruit and there was the feeling that if he looked away for just one second, the beautiful Apple would disappear. Just one bite.
Serena
Serena would feel the place making her skin crawl. She wanted nothing than to get out as soon as possible. The crows were creepy and she was sure that the twigs weren’t twigs but actual bones. The light in front and the green grass was a relief, just a few seconds more and they’d be out of here. However, as she reached the gate, she’d find that Paracelsus abruptly stopped in his tracks and was staring so longingly at the single apple on the Apple tree. Why? It was just an ordinary apple.

Serena blinked as the Gryffindor spoke about petting the random creature that rushed past. That was the last thing on her mind. She may have been a Hufflepuff and the stereotype of them being tree huggers and animal lovers could have been true but it was definitely not what Serena was thinking at this moment in time. "I- I guess," She replied, agreeing with him that they should not be stopping to pet random creatures. Though she could not be bothered to explain her real feelings to him. Well... to be truthful, it was probably more that she was too scared to admit the truth to him. He had already spread rumours about her based on lies. She did not need the whole school to know how she actually felt.
The Hufflepuff stood there, staying at the gate as her heart pounded. It pounded so loudly that she almost missed his words. It took her a minute to register what he was saying, "Wai-" She started, turning on her feet as she reached out to stop him. It was too late. He had already opened the door and made his way through. Serena stood there, hesitating for a moment. She really did not want to walk into the creepy looking door but... staying there alone seemed foolish enough too... Serena looked around. She was safe where she was, it seemed... But she had no idea what was on the other side of the door that Paracelsus had just walked through. Wait.
It dawned on her that the boy had walked through alone. If he was in danger, no one would know. He would be all alone. Serena's breath was audible. She was scared. But she had no choice at this point in time. She muttered something about 'that idiot' under her breath before quickly pushing the door open and following suit.
Her body relaxed a little as her eyes fell onto the Gryffindor. He was safe, at the very least. Serena quickly caught up with him, "Wait up!" She called as she approached, before her eyes looked around the area a bit more. It did not look pleasant... There were dark clouds overhead that looked dangerously close to breaking. Every step made a sound. Looking down, she saw leaves and twigs all over. The twigs were whiter than usual and shaped more like... No... No, they couldn't be bones... Serena blinked. This place gave her the creeps. It felt like... It felt like she was being watched. Serena looked around, spotting a bunch of crows that seemed to be glaring at them.
There was something wrong with this place. It just didn't feel right. "Uh... we should uh, get out of here." She said softly in the direction of the Gryffindor boy, quickening her pace. She spotted the gate, a bright light and fresh green grass on the other side of it. The grass was always greener on the other side, after all. That's where she had to go. "Come, let's g-" Serena started as her eyes fell back onto her partner. He was staring at one of the apple trees. "This isn't time to eat! What are you doing? Come on, let's go!" She called out to him in a quieter voice than usual because she did not want to draw more attention from the crows that she was sure were still watching her. She tried to get Paracelsus to hurry up and leave with her. She did not want to leave him behind but this place was really starting to get to her...

Parcel stepped through the gate without listening to his companion. Everything was normal at first. He could feel the temperature dropping, hear the sound of naked branches moving in the weak wind blowing through. He heard the noise of his boots stepping on the dead leafs. One footstep, the crunching of dead leafs underneath, second step, crunch, another, crunch
"Wait up!" Serena would shout... But there was no need to, Parcel had already stopped moving. “Uh... we should uh, get out of here." The Huffle girl said as she started walking towards what looked like an exit. Perhaps it was her Hufflepuff instinct, or maybe she liked the boy, as she quickly realized he wasn’t following. Parcel was rooted to the ground. A distant look on is face. He was staring towards one of the threes, bearing a single red apple on it.
"Come, let's g-" She said, but stopped as she noticed the apple tree he was looking at. "This isn't time to eat! What are you doing? Come on, let's go!" It happened fast. Parcels hand shot to the holster of his wand. Like a sword drawn from its sheet he pulled the wand out. His eyes was glazed over his expression seemed far away. The apple, the only thing on his mind was the apple.
“Don’t you steal the apple StalkerBadger! I saw it first!” His wand was pointed at Serenas chest, his voice was loud, cold and distant.

Serena had no idea what was going on or how it happened. She stood there, completely stunned as the scene unfolded. It all happened in a flash. Faster than her brain could even process. She did not even have time to say 'wait'. In front of her very eyes, the Gryffindor boy moved to protect the apple that he had been staring at. Serena's eyes widened at the sight in front of her. Her mouth fell open a little and she took a step back out of reflex. She opened her mouth to speak and question the boy, however no words came out.
Paracelsus Adger Myth was standing in front of her, pointing his wand at her and threatening her. Her own wand was in her pocket. She had her hand clutched around it for most of the trip, until this very moment when she was trying to reach out to shake him to stop staring at the apple. Unarmed, he would definitely overpower her. She had no idea how good he was at magic but he definitely had the advantage here.
But her mind barely worked. All she could do was stare at him, shocked. What was going on?
"Para-" She stopped herself from calling him by the names she knew him as. Both Parasite and Paracelsus would only annoy him, "Wha- What- the heck? What are you doing?! I- I don't want your apple!" She asked him, desperation laced in her voice as she was trying to work out what was going on. She was desperate for answers right now. Why was he suddenly threatening her when it came to a dumb apple?! Even if she did take it, that was not really worth attacking her for was it.
He was annoying and awful in her opinion. He spread lies and rumours about her... But she did not think he was aggressive... If anything, he actually seemed more scared of her. Like when he thought she had cooties and was going to devour him or something. Serena thought of him as far more of a coward than an aggressive fighter and yet, here he was, facing her with his wand in his hand.

The two would have a disputed over the apple. The perfectly riped apple on the other hand would come free of its vine and would fall from the tree right above Serena. Serena (agility D20+15=23) would take a step back and the apple would fall onto the dirt in between her and Paracelsus. The fruit’s skin was bruised a little from the fall but to still looking delicious for Paracelsus.

Parcels head was muddled, things where mushy, all he could coherently think of was the apple. And the girl in front of him was after that apple, obviously. Who wouldn’t want that apple? Its the greatest apple, the most delicious succulent apple there is, his mouth started watering just thinking about it… "Wha- What- the heck? What are you doing?! I- I don't want your apple!". He looked back at her, his gaze shifting from her to the apple… She is lying to him to get his guard down? Then she’ll take the apple herself?
“Don’t think i’ll fall for such a stupid attempt to trick me!! You only want me to trust you so you get it! But you won’t, its mine! Only mine! I saw it first!” Parce took a step closer, still pointing the wand at Serena. He would get it, he was going to take it first, and eat it. His mouth was watering again, he was craving the sweet flesh of the apple in his mouth. The succulent white flesh that wa-..
Parcels eyebrows rose in surprise. The apple fell, and rolled towards Serena. That was her plan! She had to have done something! Parcel couldn’t believe she was casting silent magic, and at this age! Was she some kind of monster!?
“NOOO!” Parcel shrieked. “It’s mine!! How dare you take it!?” His arm went into motion first, followed by an incantation. “RICTUSEMPRA!”
He would immobilize her with a tickling charm then get the apple!

The exasperation that Serena was feeling was mostly clouded by confusion. Her face bore a baffled expression, one laced with desperation. The Gryffindor boy claimed that she was lying, that it was a trick of hers. "Paras- Parce..." She said softly, stopping herself from calling him a parasite in this time. She did not want to make matters worse. "I'm not- You can have it, it's yours." She tried to reason with him, wondering what the heck had gotten into him.
If she had spent more than a few seconds in the situation, she might have worked out that he was behaving incredibly obsessively towards this apple and that she should probably prevent him from taking it. She did not know what had happened to him but something was affecting him negatively. If it was the apple, it could have poisoned or harmed him. But the truth was, Serena did not have the time to think about this. Everything happened so quickly. All she wanted to do was convince him that she was not going to steal his stupid apple and to get him to lower his wand.
But alas, it did not work. The apple fell from the tree. Serena quickly took a step back, acting entirely on her reflexes and instinct. She did not want the apple. She did not want anything in this creepy looking maze. It might have been poisoned. Out of instinct, she dodged the falling apple as though it might have been an attack.
The boy did not see it in the same way she did. He thought she took it?! It made no sense to her. How could she 'take' it if she was backing away from it? But she had no time to react. Paracelsus spoke before she could. The familiar sounding incantation of a spell they had learned came from his mouth. Her eyes widened, her mouth opened to tell him to stop. She was unarmed, she was not trying to steal his apple. What was wrong with him?!
Serena quickly tried to dodge, attempting to fall to the side. Her eyes fell onto the apple. He was trying to attack her for a stupid apple?! That apple? Serena quickly tried to duck to the side and dodge his spell. Perhaps she ought to grab the apple too... The thought did cross her mind, mostly because she was annoyed at him and the whole situation.

Paracelsus would cast the tickling spell. The spell, (D20+12=19) would cast successfully. Silver light would shot from his wand (accuracy: D20+10=17) towards the girl, Serena (agility: D20+15=18) who ducked to the side. The spell barely brushed her brown hair, but thankfully had missed her. The apple that remained on the ground would be picked by Paracelsus.

Parcel had fired off a spell. He watched the familiar color protrude from his wand on its way towards its target. And Parcel caught Serena looking at the apple, his apple!
He knew she was after it, it was all so obvious, she had been after it all this time. But she wouldn’t get it, no no no. This was Parcels, and only his. He had never seen anything as beautiful as this, nothing at all. And when he got it he would enjoy its succulent flesh, and Serena would get nothing.
Damn it! The spell had missed! No, not missed, the apple thief had just dodged! That sneaky badger. Parcel had to act fast. He ran forward. Towards Serena and the apple. Stretching out his arms, someone walking in on them would probably find it touching. Serena mid air, maybe a bit afraid, was falling down, and the gentleman Parcel was rushing in to grab her. Maybe even Serena thought he was coming to his senses. Having seen the error of his ways maybe he was rushing in to help her up, or make sure she doesn’t fall to hard and hurts herself, like a prince in a fairy tale.
… Alas, this is no fairy tale. As he gets closer to Serena, his momentum stops. Until his speed stops entirely. Serena hitting the ground didn’t even register as he turns his head away, looking at the ground in front of him. There, there his beautiful apple was resting. He picks it up, a triumphant grin on his face. He brushes away some dirt off its magnificent red skin. Gives out a satisfied chuckle, and bites into its flesh.

Serena did not, for even a second, think the boy was a prince. She may have hoped that he changed his mind and stopped going after the apple, which was clearly having some sort of weird effect on him. But she did not think he was a prince. For starters, she did not believe in fairy tales. Not since the Hufflepuff Camp Out and the week she had after that. Fairy tales were no longer something she believed in. And even if, by some miracle, she did. Paracelsus Adger Myth was definitely not the prince in that story. He had just tried to attack her over an apple. There was no charm left in this. He was just a bully. He had always disliked her. Of course he did. There was no reason for him to spread rumours and lies about her other than to torture her. That was what this was all about. But the Hufflepuff had no idea what she had ever done to him to deserve this, any of this.
Serena scrambled onto her feet, pushing herself towards him. "Wai- don't!" She screamed out, trying to reach out and stop him from making a huge mistake. The Hufflepuff had no idea what the obsession was with this apple but she did not trust it. He needed to make sure it wasn't poisoned or something before he consumed it! She had no problem with him eating it, she just wanted him to think about this whole thing. His behaviour had changed, drastically. He had attacked her over it, despite the fact that she did not actually want it. There was something very wrong and she wanted to make sure that he knew what he was doing.
But it may have been too long. The boy bite into the apple before she could stop him. Her eyes widened, her body stopped abruptly. She held her breathe and stared at him, wondering if he was okay.
