To Logan, there was something thrilling about being an animagi. Being able to transform into an animal that seems to match them in some way and even having the ability to speak to those animals when transformed. It was truly magic and a muggle would definitely think you were crazy if you tried to explain it to them. She felt free while having the opportunity to run around the Hogwarts grounds in her Animagus form, a large bay Thoroughbred. The grounds is where the Hufflepuff could be found most mornings, either running laps around the area as herself or testing the limits of her animagi form as she raced and jumped across the grounds.
Like every morning, that is where the girl currently was, slowly finishing her final lap with a snort and a soft wheeze from the humid morning air. It was a rather peaceful morning, early enough that most people were not awake yet but late enough that she was not breaking curfew. The few students that were awake and outside gave the large horse a strange look, while the ones that were frequently out as well just seemed to ignore her at this point. Although who wouldn't be confused by the horse running around the Hogwarts grounds.
With one final sigh, Logan left her Animagus form and now stood in an old pair of running shoes, spandex shorts, and a loose tank top- what she would normally wear to go running if she was not doing it in her Animagus form. "I think I have some extra time today," the girl muttered to herself as she glanced up at the large castle in front of her.

With the weight of her depression finally lifted Emily was out first thing in the morning to bask in this new glow of rebirth. It seemed almost poetic that she would be out parading in the early morning daylight, the very thing to celebrate her finally overcoming the last week's days of darkness.
She already hugged and "shook hands" with every tree that crossed her path, whistling a soft hello to the birds that were waking up and rummaging the grass for food. The leaves accompanied Emily at her feet as they travelled along the gentle current of breeze that wafted in the air. A fine day to leave her hair down just this once. No doubt she's be putting it back up tomorrow with the ribbon she purposefully left back in her dorm room to fully embrace this "new light." A special occasion she believed.
It was then that Emily stumbled upon a horse racing around the Grounds. Emily had seen a lot of things that came out of the blue during her first year at Hogwarts - to think that a wild horse running in circles was the most "normal" it could get but make Emily's eyes widen the most so far. Quite bizarre but she wasn't complaining at all for it was nonetheless a majestic sight to see. The shine of the daylight was caught perfectly in its mane as it moved.
Emily was glued to it as it began to slow down. The urge to just dash over, calm it and pet it was immense. Then another twist happened. It morphed into a girl. Just like that. It went from a gorgeous brown thoroughbred to a brown-haired girl in sporting gear within the blink of an eye.
Eh?!
Was this some kind of magical creature she had read about in her books? No hang on. Not quite. There was a term for something like this. Anam- Ane-... The term would come back to her eventually.
For now Emily was too busy staring off into nothing as she slowly processed what just happened, giving a face that made it seem like she just met God or something.

Morning Chatter
Logan took a deep breath in then blew some loose strands of hair out of her face as she looked around at the grounds. It was so peaceful, even with there being other students awake and outside as well. Things could and would get hectic as Hogwarts so it was nice to have the peaceful mornings to just relax and not have to worry about much at all.
Deciding it was time to do something else, the girl carefully redid her hair, pulling it back up into a ponytail to bring the stray strands out of her face as she made her way a bit closer to the castle. There were more students outside than there had been when she first started her morning run, but she was not too surprised as who really wanted to wake up early in the morning to exercise. One of the students who was outside, Logan thought she recognized a little bit. If she was remembering correctly, they were a first year Hufflepuff and Logan had seen them around the common room a few times over the last year. The older girl could also be completely wrong though as there were so many first years it was difficult to keep track of every single one of them and remember what house they were in.
"Good Morning" she called out softly, hoping to not disturb the quiet morning too much with her greeting.

Giddily Impressed with @Logan Baird
Speech: #cfa120
Emily immediately acknowledged the girl with an eager greeting of her own, waving ecstatically at her. Her mind was a total buzz over what happened literally moments before but she was too impressed to ask questions. With a spring in her stride she approached her. It was only then that Emily realised she was a fellow Hufflepuff like herself. Come to think of it, she could've sworn she had seen her floating about the Common Room from time to time.
"Hi...! Good morning...!" She called out giddily. "That was you, wasn't it? That horse... You were the... And now you're...!"
Her mind was going a mile a second. At this stage in the year transfiguration was quite expansive but there was nothing in its branches that were quite like that. Not with the same feel to it, Emily thought. She had so many questions.
"That was amazing! But... What was...?"
There was a term for it. But what the hell was it? The question was burning in her head like it was making fun of her. The self-proclaimed archivist of knowledge in Hufflepuff was standing there with her toe tapping on the grass, almost looking like she was about to snap her fingers as she searched within herself to find out the name of the dang magic she had just seen. Even at the risk of looking like a hyper-active dog she was determined to remember what it was.

Logan was almost concerned for the younger girl as she stuttered through speaking to Logan, no one had ever really had this reaction before. She hadn't startled the younger girl that much had she? It became apparent that she was a just a bit more surprised than anything though and the older Hufflepuff laughed softly.
"Yes, that was in fact me." Humor present in the girl's voice as she spoke to the first year. Logan had not gotten to talk to as many people outside of her friend's and the Animagi group about actually being an Animagi, so this was definitely a new conversation. "It is call being an Animagus. You should learn about it in your Fifth year, and if you really want to you may even get the chance to become one." It was nice having someone so interested in it.
Turning, Logan spotted an open bench not far from the pair an nodded her head towards it, wanting the girl to follow her over. "My name is Logan, fifth year Hufflepuff." She introduced herself as she sat down on the bench gently, relief flooding through her body at a chance to sit down after going for her morning run.

Animagus Analysis with @Logan Baird
Speech: #cfa120
"Animagus!"
Emily practically nearly jumped as soon as Logan said it but immediately went to cover her mouth when she inadvertently shouted in her ear. She knew it began with an "A"! Emily settled down now that the tedious gnawing of her memory had finally passed. At the bare minimum she was calmed down enough to have a meaningful and civilised conversation with her patient fellow Huffle-pal. Well, for the most part.
Excitement however was still threatening to overtake the youngster as Logan spoke with her though the sake of being a responsible and approachable individual kept her grounded. The words she was taking in had her whole demeanour sparkle.
"You do? Oh...! I didn't realise you could learn as soon as Fifth Year... I always assumed it was something students would learn until at least Seventh Year. Mostly because of how advanced it seems!"
Invested in their little chat, Emily followed Logan to the bench where she joined her side, sitting with her. At Logan's introduction, Emily returned it with one of her own, a friendly smile plastered across her face. "I'm Emily! First Year Hufflepuff...!"
