Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Surely third time was the charm- Kim couldn't dodge them all right? Lea was partially right, but the one hit by Hades was still not enough to bring the Gryffindor down. Her own Flipendo would go veering off into the nothingness, a grimace at what seemed like the perfect aim instead vanishing into the distance. She had underestimated him- how well he was staying up for someone who looked to be quite miserable.

![]() | ── | At long last, there was a small measure of relief when the urge to kiss everyone around him disappeared for a time. Kim still felt sick and his mind was whirling but he could stand on his own two feet and focus long enough to somehow dodge both Julian and Lea's spells coming at him. Quite a feat. Yet he still couldn't manage to land a hit with the spell he'd cast. But that was understandable, considering his current situation. At least his teammates were doing better, even though it was a little late. Rose had managed to hit Hades and Elsa's spell spread fire spell had managed to simultaneously take out both her targets. However, Kim's cousin Hades was doing very well this time. He kept managing to hit him every time. But Kim didn't hold it against him. Hell, Kim was even hoping in the deepest recesses of his mind that he'd get knocked out and never wake up again. Not that he'd ever say those words out loud. It was kind of poetic that he'd get knocked out by his namesake. The Flipendo Prince taken out by a Flipendo. Heh. Fun. |

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Four Knockback Jinxes shot across the podium- three at Kim and only one at the Hufflepuffs. He seemed to be holding on, even though he seemed on the verge of passing out. Rose was fairly sure her healing spell had worked, but she directed her focus elsewhere for this round.
“Impedimenta,” she murmured, the spell shooting towards Hades and hitting him. A small rush of victory ran through her body. Elsa also hit, somehow, Julian and Hades at the same time. Both of them burst aflame. “Nice, Elsa!” Rose encouraged her teammate. She never knew how anybody did that, since she had seen it a couple of times, but she always found it impressive when a spell was so big it hit two people.
They had finally hit somebody, and done some damage. The Gryffindors were back in the game.

After the last round, Hades didn’t expect everyone to go after him. Being first Rose with a spell that reduced the speed of movements, and the next was Elsa who divided the spell towards him and his teammate Julian. The boy dedicated a gesture as vulgar as uneducated, but did not mind — ironically, he considered it unacceptable despite having used it on other people.
The last one was Kim, his spell also directed at him. Despite trying to eliminate the fire, the boy was fast enough to dodge. Once he looked at Kim, he gave him a mocking smile “Bad luck, don’t you think?” he replied with a certain glee. After his teammates, Hades was the only one who managed to perform the spell, hitting Kim and raising his head sufficiently.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
It seemed that regression to the mean had struck again. Julian's dad had once explained that concept to him and, even though it didn't probably apply in a skill based sport, like duelling, Julian couldn't help but think about it in light of the fact that their initial success had mostly evaporated in favour of a much more even match with the Gryffindors. Their entire team had once again pointed all their wands at Kim, and had mostly missed. Meanwhile, the Gryffindors were starting to land spells of their own. Notabley Veronica had just set Julian a slight bit on fire.
"Bloody --" He muttered at the sudden smarting psain, trying to put out the little flame that had sprouted on his sleeve before it could do more damage.

12th May 2024 - Afternoon
The duel had been slower going but with generally decent performances across the board, which was why Bridget was shocked to see how quickly it broke down. They all geared up in the ways she expected them to: more attempts by Hufflepuff to finish Kim off, Rose and Elsa holding up their offensive, Hades trying to deal with the Impedimenta, Kim still very set on hitting Hades. But then things became much harder to follow.
Rose's spell went... Bridget wasn't even sure where, honestly. It was perhaps closer to Nicky than anyone else, but Nicky didn't even need to move to avoid it. At the same time, Nicky was dealing with a spell that sputtered out on her, the exhale of her breath being the closest thing she got to the torrent she'd imagined. Kim and Julian were the only ones to miss in unspectacular fashion, even if Julian looked like he'd had a little trouble with the spell, while Lea fumbled one of the last spells you wanted to fumble. Confringo was much more brutal than Flipendo, harder to cast but it didn't need to be as carefully aimed. She probably should have been more careful, though; it struck the ground near Hades, sending a shower of splinters into him while his counter spell fizzled out.
Not that much had changed, ultimately. Kim was somehow still standing. There was probably a bit more embarrassment in the air now, though.

Nicky gritted her teeth, her eyes boring into the opposing team. This time she didn't succeed but it didn't mean anything. She wouldn't let a failed attempt bring her spirits down and make her lose focus. She was going to keep going and fight this like the brave lion she was.

Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff: Match 4
Though a lot seemed to happen, nothing really… happened. No one was hit, at least, except for Kim, who was unable to dodge a blasting curse from Lea. Rose, intending to shoot a pressurized water charm towards Julian, somehow missed so bad it almost went towards Nicky, but it was also way off target of her. Either way, the aim was terrible, and hit nobody. Nicky didn't do too much better, her spell failing before it reached the other end of the stage, probably because of how big her spell was the last time.
Rose dodged a spell from Julian, and Hades tried to stop her spell with what seemed to be a counter-spell, but it didn't work, as his movements were slowing more and more.

Lea blinked. Stood there on the piste and blinked.
That was probably the worst round for both teams that she had experienced. No one seemed quite sure who their target was or how to even cast spells from the looks of Hades and Elsa. Her success was rather unfortunate, realizing à little too late where the spell had gone as shards peppered her teammate.
"Ah uhm- can we pretend this whole round just... didn't happen?"

![]() | ── | Somehow Kim was still hanging in there, even though by all rights he should be dead by now. But at least he wasn't feeling as if his whole world was tumbling around and giving him vertigo. At least not right now. Rose's spell went haywire this time around and veered off towards Elsa. Thankfully, it was pretty obvious where it was going and Elsa had way more than enough time to dodge it. No harm done. Elsa tried to do another spell spread but failed completely. Kim tried to shoot off another Knockback Jinx at Hades but also failed again. However, his spell came the closest to hitting the target out of all three Lions. Go figure. Lea tried casting the Blasting Curse at him but Kim was able to easily dodge it, despite his current condition. Instead, the Blasting Curse headed towards Hades, who also dodged it. Julian tried to cast the Blindfolding Spell on Rose but also missed. Hades tried casting a counter-curse but also failed. Oddly enough, everyone had failed in this particular round. Kim couldn't help but feel like laughing at this. |
