With the use of their last potions, the battle continued. Although, all the murtlap potion seemed to have done was prolong the suffering of both David and Colin as the flames on their bodies continued to echo and roar consuming what little stamina they had left. Colin's flames had appeared first, and it seemed enough time of exposure and a swift dodge of David's flipendo had put the last of the flames out for the boy. The same couldn't be said for David as the flames continued to increase in heat on his body, potentially being the cause of him missing his attack as the pain was most likely overbearing to endure. Hunter certainly had to hand it to the two of them for holding up for so long. They had been the main targets of their entire duel, and the fact they both were still standing this deep into it was a sign of just how strong they both were. Still, Hunter could recognize the signs of exhaustion, adrenaline, and pain that were surging through the two of them. It seemed inevitable as David eventually fell to the ground, back upon his back as if he never left the position Colin had placed him in with a previous flipdeno. Hunter took out his pocketwatch and used the incantation for the only untransfiguartion spell he knew "Reparifarge." Within an instant, the watch turned back to its actual original form, a whistle.
Hunter blew hard into the item, an echoing sound to gain the attention of all players involved. Yet, stopping or pausing a match where flames were involved seemed extremely difficult for everyone. Luckily everyone seemed to react quite well to his whistle blow, and Hunter was able to reach David in quick succession: "Mostly first and second-degree burns... no third luckily." Hunter inspected David's arm, taking note of the boy's injuries, "breathing is a little faint but luckily-" Hunter was soon cut off. He was to focused on David's injuries that he forgot the duel was still in progress. The flames on Colin had diminished, but it was the ending finale of Pax's fiery breath that couldn't be placed on a wait timer. Hunter heard the belch, and looking up he could see the flames heading in their direction. With as much strength as he had (which is very little) Hunter dragged David off the battlefield and into the stadium with the rest of the spectators. Heavy breathing came from the boy, exhausted from the amount of trouble his own potions were causing.
Pax's final belch of fire had flown directly at Avery having been mistaken for being aimed at Hunter or David. Possibly the heat of the moment, but Avery reacted to the sound as if he was expecting it or possibly frightened. A blindfold shot from the tip of his wand, heading toward the fiery inferno as if it were to be a shield. The poor blindfold would never reach its target and serve its purpose. The flames overwhelmed the blindfold turning it into nothing but soot; however, the flames were not done. To Hunter it seemed Avery's brain pushed into hyperdrive, dodging the flame... well, almost. Part of the boy's arm was bright red with trickles of flames on his robes, as if he had shoved it deep into a broiling oven or perhaps a pot of boiling water. It certainly looked painful, but Hunter still wondered if pouring the actual potion on someone's arm would have been worse.
He looked at David, unconscious and badly injured. Hunter might have considered it, but he wasn't that cruel of a student. Or perhaps it was the fact they were out in the open. Eventually, he looked towards the crowd, requesting if anyone could be kind enough and strong enough to carry David to the Hospital Wing as Hunter would continue to moderate the duel.

A Brawl is Brewing
They/ShePermission to god-mod Colin slightly granted by Colin.A sharp blow from a whistle alerted Pax to stop, though the flames weren't exactly willing to obey. Doing the best they could, they watched David fall to the ground. Eyes widening, they tried to push that aside. It was like quidditch. People were gonna get hurt. it was part of the game.
Didn't stop them from feeling bad about it though.
Instead, they focused back on their only standing target. The fire erupted from them once more and this time with a loud scathing roar, but with their focus still partially on David and Hunter lying there, it only skimmed Avery. At least they managed to hit him somewhat. In the midst of the flames, what seemed to be a thin cloth had shot from Avery's wand, but been burnt in the crossfire.
The flames began to fizzle out in the back of Pax's throat and one final burp of smoke would be the end of Pax the Dragon. Happy to now approach Colin without the worry of frying him to a crisp, they sidled up to him with their wand ready and extended.
"You thinking what I'm thinking Col?"
Colin howled in response to Pax, both of them grinning as they did a little fist-bump before Pax took a playful but gentle swipe at his wand with their own. After a 30-second mini-battle, Pax aimed their wand back at Avery, head tilted slightly to the side as they readied to cast.Reducio

Colin's smirk broadened as his flipendo hit home. Whoa!! Dave ended up flat on his back again!
Fortunately, the flames died down and went out on Colin's body. But he could still feel the effects inside, a weariness, like he wanted to take a nap. Right now he was operating on sheer will power and adrenaline! It was enough --- Colin really felt a boost as his opponent went down. He didn't know if this was normal in a duel, but Hunter untransfigured his stopwatch --- Huh! It's actually a whistle! Colin knew how to do both the transfiguation and the reversal, but didn't have a whistle to try it on! Hm. Might have to get us a whistle, lad!
He blew it. Colin perked up and turned towards Hunter as the high pitched blast filled the duelling club room. What did that mean? And why did Colin just react so strongly to a whistle? His eyes widened. Memories of seeing herders and their sheepdogs working with whistles came into mind. Oh, wow! He wondered what would happen if Clair whistled to him --- would he turn towards her and instantly run to her side? Colin smiled at the thought.
But whatever the whistle was meant to convey, nothing could stop DragonPax from releasing her pent up fire! And it looked like Avery didn't pay any attention to the whistle at all. He cast what looked like a blindfold towards Pax. Smart move! Colin thought, but unfortunately for Avery, the dragonfire burnt the blindfold to a crisp.
Colin looked down at his own shirtless body. How well he knew the effects of magical fire upon ordinary cloth! He watched as Avery, or at least a part of him, light up with Pax's fire; and he saw Hunter drag Dave off the piste. And after that last roaring gout of flame, the fire of dragondom seemed to die in Pax's throat and they were his demisister again and no impressively roaring dragon.
Colin smiled when Pax turned towards him. He was impressed by Dave's duelling, but truly, he was struck by Pax's prowess. She sidled up to him and Colin gave her a grin. He'd love to duel her one on one --- even though they'd most likely trounce him!
"You thinking what I'm thinking Col?" Pax's wand was extended and Colin returned their question with a howl!
"OWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
They grinned at each other and fistbumped. Colin felt energised again! He and Pax clacked their wands together as they were swords and he shook his head at her like a dog. As one, Pax and Colin turned towards Avery, ready to continue the battle.

Mutual godmodding permission granted!

Well that sucked. But it wasn’t the worst of my problems however, because apart from my spell missing it’s target, I also got hit with the Flipendo said target cast on me. The blue ball of energy hit me and I was sent flying into the air before somehow, managing to land on my feet. But I realized that the damage from today’s duel had taken it’s toll on me because now, I couldn’t even concentrate on a spell properly and as much as I wanted to cast another Flipendo at Colin to knock him out, I decided not to because at this point, there was a huge chance that the spell would malfunction in some way if I cast it. And then there was the fact that my vision was becoming more and more blurry with each passing second and I could only vaguely make out where he was, so even if I did cast the spell successfully, it would most likely miss my intended target. And as if blurry vision wasn’t enough, my body gave way and I collapsed on the ground before rolling onto my back. “David! Are you okay?” I heard Avery shout from my right. “No, I’m pretty much dead here. You’re on your own from here on out mate.” I was tired, exhausted, and still on fire which for some reason didn't hurt as much now except for the edges to which it had spread, probably because it had burnt up my nerve endings. “Good luck Avery.” I said weakly, and just before I passed out on the dueling piste, I heard him say “Hang in there, David! I got this!”. And then, all went black.Avery - #922724

"David! Are you okay?" he called out to his partner as a Knockback Jinx hit him. He watched as his partner stumbled back, and then fell onto the floor of the dueling piste. It seemed it was the last hit he could take today.
“Good luck Avery,” David managed to say weakly. "Hang in there, David! I got this!" he would say determinedly. Hopefully, David would hear him and find some reassurance before losing consciousness. Hunter's sharp whistle tore through the duel and brought it to a halt. Avery lowered his wand and watched as Hunter observed David's 'second-degree burns', as if he were a scientist examining his experiment or a doctor taking notes. A bit strange, wasn't he? -- similar to Vale, as both were very passionate about herbs and potions and such, but Avery wondered if it would be off-putting to be the subject of Hunter's experiments? Actually, were they Hunter's experiments right now, as human subjects to his potions under the guise of a duel?
Avery shook the thought from his mind as his energetic, boyish tendencies took the helm once more. Nah, whatever! Drinking and smashing potions was hella cool!
He watched as Pax and Colin fist-bumped each other. It was two against one from this point on! Was he discouraged? He put on a brave face and raised his wand. "Don't get your hopes up, guys! Two against one won't be so easy against me!" he responded, filled with over-confidence.

Upon David's removal from the stage to be given proper treatment, Hunter prepared his whistle once more as he expected Colin to soon give out. Something caught the boy's eye as he could have sworn he saw some interesting marks or scars due to the exposure of his upper torso from the flames that burned away patches of clothing. It was hard to see, but Hunter couldn't tell from the distance he was at. He was expecting to know his answer soon, but the flurry of spells from all three duelists would never meet their targets.
First, there was Avery, who despite being on fire was capable of moving swiftly across the field to dodge both Pax and Colin's attacks. His movements were a bit sloppy but quick in fashion to cause the flames that stuck to him to dance with him in a painful duet. Despite the cool flickering of lights that came off of his robes, it was clear the flames were still an issue rather than a benefit. As he attempted to cast his own spell, he made a clear wincing look, an indication of pain. Flames were still flames no matter how they were formed. Even as they were slowly dying out, they continued to be a nuisance for the young Slytherin boy; his shot had missed Colin. Honestly, though, Hunter was impressed by how everyone who had been caught on fire had decided to endure the flames instead of putting them out.
Then there were Pax and Colin, a powerful duo and their synergy were clearly on point with one another as Davi's downfall seemed to be the call for their victory. Yet, perhaps their early celebration and slight hubris were going to be their downfall. Were they just being too overconfident, or were they feeling merciful for their friend? Or perhaps the flames on Avery were distracting to the eye? It was hard to tell, and even Hunter was unsure if it was their own mistakes or if Avery was secretly an acrobatic capable of dodging almost anything in dire situations; both of Colin and Pax's spells had missed and nothing came upon this round of fighting.
Hunter sighed, as the duel continued with just dodges and words of encouragement, he wondered if he could be friends with the three of them. He was unsure, he typically kept a distance from others and considered Avery more of an acquaintance. He held onto his whistle, waiting for Colin to fall as it was clear exhaustion was taking over the boy.

They/SheThe disappointment and annoyance was clear on Pax's face as they saw Avery move out of the way of both their spell and Colin's spell. Damn that Slytherin and his nimbleness. However, there was little time to waste as a spell was aimed at what was presumed Colin, but headed towards the both of them pretty quickly.
"Col, watch out!" Pax pushed Colin to one side as they ducked to the other, away from the spell that flew past.
When they looked up, the spell had luckily soared right past the both of them. Pax carefully moved back towards Colin, keeping a close eye on Avery at all times. He may have missed this round, but he'd hit successfully before and surely he'd be more on guard given that David was down.
"Careful," they warned Colin quietly. "I can't have you dying right now and leaving me alone against him. I mean, sure, I could probably take him down, but I'd hate for nobody to be cheering my -no- our success."
Straightening, they adjusted their wand in their hand and readied it once again, moving the hair out of their face to get a clearer shot. Surely they'd manage to hit Avery this time.Reducio

"Aw, man!" Colin said in dismay as both his and Pax's spells slipped by their snakey foe!
Fortunately, Avery's spell hit neither himself nor Pax! He wasn't sure who it was aimed at, or if Avery were trying to hit them both, but Pax bumped him to the side with a warning cry as they dove to the other direction! "Careful," Pax said; "I can't have you dying right now and leaving me alone against him. I mean, sure, I could probably take him down, but I'd hate for nobody to be cheering my -no- our success."
Colin had to admit that his Slytherin friend was quite agile, perhaps even more than himself! Disheartening as it was in the moment, Colin recognised skill when he saw it! But also, Pax's warning and quick shove reminded Colin that he himself was nowhere close to 100 percent right now. The hits he'd taken were hard on his body and he didn't know how much longer he could last.
Pax was right. Colin nodded to her: "Right you are demisis! You've totally got this! --- We've got this!"
Turning back towards Avery, he just wasn't going to congratulate his friend for his skillful dodge! Not yet anyway!
His body might be tired, but his mind was still quick, and he'd get in a last jab at Avery at the least: "That's some fancy footwork, Avery! Did you cast tarantallegra on yourself when no one was looking? Or are you taking dancing lessons?"

A Brawl is Brewing

Easy peasy. He saw the flashes of light coming his way, but none of them were able to land a hit. "Ha! You guys need to try harder if you want to hit me!" he taunted with a little smile, but the cheeky grin was soon interrupted by a painful wince as the flames continued to sear. His own spell went awry. Oops.
Holy crap! It actually burned so much! Was he gonna cry? No, he wasn't gonna cry, not here in front of Pax and Colin. (Hunter had probably seen the tears in his eyes as both of them got smacked down there by Hildegard's cane that fateful day.) He blinked back the pain.
He huffed at Colin's remark. "I bet you're just jealous you don't have moves on the dance floor like me!" he retorted. "Can't be a true fiddler if you can't dance, y'know?" he gave his fellow violinist a wink. "I can give you lessons if you'd like! I'm sure all the girls would love a dancer in you! Especially if you learn it from the pro himself."
Pro? Bahaha, who was he kidding? Avery laughed at himself and his own joke, through the pain of the burns. The musician merely felt the rhythm whenever it hit him, and let it take him where it so pleased, whether those sidesteps or dance steps looked good or not. His breakdancing was just a few rolls and tumbles on the floor.

Finally, something had occurred, but it was the least of what Hunter had expected. Honestly, at this rate, the young Ravenclaw boy was considering that perhaps Colin had taken a sip of Felix Felicis based on how lucky the boy was. Within seconds of being close to fainting, he somehow kept finding surges of energy to push himself just slightly past Avery's shots. It certainly piqued Hunter's curiosity, and the scars he could barely see only made him a bit more curious. If Avery wasn't capable of downing Colin soon, then Hunter himself may step in for his own reasons.
As for Avery, his luck was about done and gone. Twice in a row, he had missed his shot on Colin, and it was possible that the flames on his body were being more of a pest in distracting his concentration than he would have originally expected. Perhaps his luck was just making a turn though, as the flames had already diminished but only because the flipendo he endured from Pax had pushed the wind out of him and the flames, but it also pushed him a bit out of the way from Colin's own spell of mimblewimble. Had it successfully landed, Avery would have ended up back in an almost similar position as he was with the muffling draught which most likely would have been the end of him.
Hunter still held tightly onto his whistle waiting patiently, no longer recording in his journal as the duel was granting less new information about each duelist. Sure there were a couple of surprises, but they were more tedious than surprising. To Hunter, time was a great importance.
