Prank War II

Stephen stayed at the hospital tent, waiting to make sure EmmaLee and Jamie were going to be okay. I mean, he knew they would be okay. Magic would see to that easily enough, but still. The whole prank war had left a very bad taste in his mouth. As he had been sitting there, letting the staff do their magic, quite literally, he had time to think. He was no less angry at Durmstrang, not that they would care, but pursuing anything further with them seemed foolish. Clearly they did not understand this was supposed to be a friendly, good-natured game or they did know it and simply did not care. He wanted to be charitable and give them the benefit of the doubt, but honestly, that had been done in the Spring with the capsizing of their boats upon Ilvermorny's arrival at Hogwarts.
He did agree that they had more than a right to be upset. Hell, he would have been upset as well. But he and 99.9% of the Ilvermorny students the Durmstrang Gang targeted had nothing to do with piloting their ship, so the capsizing was not his fault. It was not Louca's fault either. It was an unfortunate accident, but only one of them seemed interested in believing that, and even she did it very grudgingly.
But their response tonight was over the top. Good on them if that is what they were going for... Durmstrang wins the title of most unreasonable response to glue and bubbles. Having fun was supposed to be the point... besting each other along the way. He looked over to EmmaLee and to Jamie, wondering if they were having fun now? Thinking the answer to that would most likely be a definitive no. The only place left to go after people leave a bludger in a tent occupied by a group of kids who have not even sat through day one of magic school is to ratchet up the hurt. Rather defeats the point of the game which again, was supposed to be fun. Unless, of course, for them, the infliction of pain is the fun and winning was the point. The only point.
Sad if true.
Either way, he wasn't the boss of anyone and it was not his job in life to make people see the world from his point of view. As he saw EmmaLee being released by a nurse, he smiled and stood as she made her way to the exit where he had been waiting.
"No concussion. Really? Oh, that is a relief. I am glad, EmmLee. I'm going to stay here to make certain Jamie is okay, otherwise I would walk back with you. I am pretty sure Miles and Louca have probably rid the tent of the bludger by now, so I bet you can get some rest soon. I will see you back there later, hopefully with Jamie in tow," and he smiled widely at her as he watched her head back towards the tent.

While the bonding campfire after discovering the prank that had taken place had been very enjoyable, Louca was ready to get back at the other tent. The bludger in particular was just a bit too far. And he knew at least one culprit. Sneaking around in the dark, he listened carefully to make sure that no one was inside. Hearing no noise for several minutes he felt confident that it was safe to enter.
Looking around, he chose a bunk that he hoped was Johannes Sauer, and started grabbing items at random. He threw or hid various clothing items in other people's bunk area's, hiding them under the covers, in the pillowcases or glued to the bottom of various surfaces. His original idea had been to freeze the items but he didn't know a spell for that and there wasn't enough time to steal them, freeze them (somehow) and then return. Louca hadn't even thought to ask if any of the older students might have been able to help.
Looking around, he nodded in determination, hoping that he got the right bunk. Deciding that really something larger needed to be done as a finale, he went back and forth between the Bubble-Producing Charm or the Snowflake-Creating Spell. Deciding that snowflakes meant damp, and thus more inconvenience, he took out his wand, quietly saying "Nix Facitur." Satisfied with his night's work, he strolled out confidently , wand secure in his pocket, his hands shoved in them as well, moving back to his own tent.
