WC: 436~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As we stood contemplating about the broken ward with a flower-like design carved on it, I turned around towards the place where the Headmaster was seated. To my surprise, he wasn't there. What! Where's Headmaster Lear. Isn't he supposed to be watching us. It seems unlike him to just leave us here unsupervised. Just then, I heard a few screams, and felt chaos upsurging. Paul poked my side and pointed towards the trees, Fire. Fire... Fire! Oh my goodness! And it's spreading, fast.
Just then I noticed a few students running. I was plunged in dread when I saw what was chasing them. Spiders... Giant spiders. I spoke as i stumbled back, "Sp... sp... spiders..." I shrieked, "Ahh!! Acromantulas!" I was horrified by their presence. I couldn't think, I couldn't move. I stood frozen at the spot. For a split second all sound was drained out from my surroundings. Suddenly, it all came back to me as I realised, We're alone now, no adults to help us. Hence, it's up to us to fix this, we must save our fellow wizards. We have to do something.
The first thing that came to my mind was to put out the fire. I took at my wand and pointed it at the spreading flames, "Extinguo" I thought, What're we going to do about the acromantulas? Maybe if we put out the fire, they'd go back into the woods. I felt terrible, many of the students were running for their lives, some of them were hurt and bleeding; and me, I was standing here unsure of what to do, of how to fix this mess.
I then heard Paul say, "Dammit... we must repair the wards, so that the spiders and other vermin don't get to the castle. It's either that, or burning to the ground thanks to our... not so intelligent mates, or being eaten by those scary spiders." and I agreed with every single word. We had to something, but I wasn't sure if repairing a ward would be that easy, but if was definitely worth a try, and I certainly wasn't interested in dying out here. I said, "We should also try putting out the fire, then atleast we could try to send the acromantulas back."
I looked at Ophelia, worry etched all over her face. She too like us seemed to be contemplating what to do. She asked, "Should we help them", and without wasting a second started running towards the flames. I called out to her, "Ophelia... wait! Don't run towards the fire!" In a moment of crisis, that was exactly what one shouldn't do. Did that stop me from doing the same thing, no, no it didn't. I ran after her, finally catching up when once she stopped near a slytherin girl. I spoke, my breath hitching, "Guys, we really shouldn't be this close to the fire."Action: Casting Extinguo on the burning trees.

date place tags wc speech outfits 2026 June Grounds @Zach Zaphiere, @Damien Dragonclaw, @Mamori Anezaki 292/200 #36563c xxxThe young Gryffindor didn’t really grasp the ideas of what they were supposed to do in this detention. Not only because it was her first time being punished, but also the sudden erupted chaos made her stop thinking in a brief moment. Her mind went blank. Her pretty blue eyes widened.
Prior to all the Acromantulas and fires, the members of their temporary detention squad had all agreed on checking out the mysterious man whom Damien had seen. There was an old saying, "Curiosity killed the cat." Perhaps curiosity wouldn’t kill the witches and wizards. She sincerely hoped so.
As she decided to follow others’ lead, taking her first step toward the now-disappearing man - Although technically she never saw him, they’d need Damien to point him out - the smoke irritated her nose and eyes. A reflex tear dripped down from her eyes. She wiped it away with her slender fingers and glanced around. Fires. Wow, why was this semester full of fire incidents? The sound of horror began again. The acromantulas crawled out from the forest. Rosaline almost screamed like other fellow students out of fear. She covered her mouth. It wasn’t ideal to create more sounds in this scenario. Her instinct told her to run. Run as far as she could. But her legs were frozen like a rooted tree. “Merlin… I have never seen something like this happen before.”
Mamori acted. He pushed them all out of the hazardous area. Her stiff legs finally functioned. Rosaline was glad she had worn the gloves before. Nonetheless, it was a protection. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she moved quickly with them.
At least for now, it was safer to chase down that man with her groupmates. She hoped so.
Action: Follows Zach, Damien, and Mamori to investigate the mysterious man.

It was unlike Amethyst to put trust in someone. But Elisa, on the other hand, received her blind faith in one of the most vital moments. The vial that Elisa had handed her could have contained practically anything, from an antidote to a poison. It could have potentially made her condition worse. Now when the dizziness and pain were abating, Amethyst found herself thinking clearly. She realised the potion Elisa had offered was taken without much thought. Even in deadly peril, Amethyst was taught that she should think twice before accepting or offering help. Somehow, she trusted Elisa Shakestra, a girl she barely knew. Given how Amethyst had approached Elisa when the detention started, the claim that she barely knew her detention partner sounded rather exaggerated. But they had only truly interacted on the younger girl's birthday and never again. Perhaps because Amethyst found it embarrassing to do so. The older Slytherin was anything but polite, but something about her felt so settling. They had never named each other friends, but Amethyst looked up to her as an elder sister, though it was not something she could let on. It was always hard to accept whatever she felt verbally. |

Or maybe the reason for this connection was wholly and solely the similarities between them. The young heiress blinked at her surroundings and then at Elisa once she had gained enough consciousness to have her eyes wide open. Her first notion was to find more snakes. It was then she noticed a snake a little far away from the tree. No. It was particularly the snake that had attacked her. It was ripped into two. If the creature did not look vile enough before, it certainly did now. The sight alone made her want to puke. Amethyst looked at Elisa, wondering if she did that. She never voiced out her thoughts, however. It was harder to communicate with the older girl now. Amethyst owed Elisa her life now. She did not know how to utter a thank you. Something she wanted to do but was afraid would be too awkward. What her words couldn't, her eyes expressed. The gratitude was visible, along with a hint of curiosity to look for more snakes. The young heiress quickly searched her tote bag for her gloves. She wasted no time wearing them and urged Elisa to do the same with her hand gestures. footnotes. trunk link! actions. looking for more snakes. |

When the roots of the mushroom broke free from the soil and let loose a nightmarish scream, Costanza was already losing her grip on reality. She didn't have time to try and stop Pyxis again, and she wasn't able to catch sight of the skull that he discovered. Instead, a glint of blue caught her attention. She turned towards the source and suddenly, she was alone. It was happening again. She watched from her stooping position as the forest turned dark, only illuminated by dozens of lanterns housing blue fire. They carved a path deeper into the woods and even though every bit of her was trying to wake up, she felt herself stand. Taking off into a run, Costanza went no where. She was inside now. Watching a familiar boy's demeanor be changed by the mask he was given. Was that her former duelling captain? And who was the creepy figure with him?
A child drew something on the ground and she wished she'd been paying attention in ancient runes because she had no idea what he was doing. Before she could approach the child, the ground shattered in front of her. The child's art was in pieces and someone stepped across the debris. She turned and ran, and was in the forest again. The three old women who were brewing a potion in her last vision were back. They took down the lanterns of blue fire, plunging the forest into darkness.
Costanza watched as they crossed the ward line. The ward line? When had she gotten here? She reached for her wand as they stepped over broken wards, but someone else beat her to it. After a flash of green, there were no more old women. In the spot where they stood, roots took over and mushrooms sprouted. The song she was hearing ended. And she was back in the present.
Mist drifted across her vision. No, not mist. Smoke. There was a fire, and it wasn't blue. Costanza shot up before she realized it was a mistake. She was immediately dizzy but pushed through towards Pyxis. He was trying to cast a spell, skull in hand. She looked back at the uprooted mushroom. Was that... was that the skull of one of the old women? If they removed the other mushrooms, would they find more human bones?
That didn't matter right now. Those things were dead, but they were able to cross because someone destroyed the wards. Costanza bounded past Pyxis, hunting in the overgrown area for broken wards. Yes, there was fire. Yes, there were spiders. But the badger was on a mission set by the second vision she had ever had.

There were other matters at hand that stole Dahlia's attention away from hissing. Namely, the forest was on fire, smoke filled the air, and students were running about in a way that resembled swarm of agitated bees. This could be her opportunity.
Her eyebrows furrowed at Della, frustrated by the vague explanation. "What is something, though?" She demanded, "What is it that is wrong?" Curse her persistent curiosity. Where was the headmaster? Her quick scan of the area brought her awareness to the rapidly spreading fire and crowds of students. No Lear was visible from her perspective. He ought to be taking action to stop the fire, perchance. Dahlia was not often a paragon of practical thought but it made sense for the headmaster of a school to be concerned about students committing arson in protected wildlife areas. Common sense.
The witch turned back towards Della. "He left..." A spark of inspiration hit the twelve-year-old as she trailed off, "Which means we can leave, right?" Dahlia's tone brightened unsuitably given they were in active danger. She glanced back towards the castle. If Lear was distracted, he surely wouldn't notice one student missing.
Her gaze drifted towards the snake as Della picked it up. She noted the hissing this time, a chilling noise. "An old snake? Like a garden snake?" As always, there were questions at the tip of Dahlia's tongue. If a powerful snake was telling her to ditch detention then who was she not to follow its orders? If she were to be caught and scolded, then, at least she would have an excuse for why she had ran. Both Della and this snake figure, apparently, were enabling her antics. Her feet shifted in the direction of the castle.
Her stomach twisted. Running would grant her freedom from a day of manual labor but, then again, Dahlia would be putting her trust in a hypothetical reptile that may very well be trying to trick her. She turned towards the forest. Her curiosity had been piqued by the existence of this creature. It would not do to miss out on the thrill of an adventure over concerns for her personal safety. However, once the snake situation was under control, would the group not be directed back towards their original task of mindlessly clearing debris for hours upon hours? Most likely.
Hence, her choice had been made. "Wait. I'll go get someone," she addressed Della for a final time. An absolute lie. The girl was looking for an excuse to get out of detention. If she happened across a teacher, perhaps she would accompany them back to the forest but only out of her own interest in witnessing the goings-on live, from a safe distance. Would she be able to see this part of the forest from her dormitory in the Gryffindor tower? Dahlia hoped so. She turned towards the castle, taking off at a sprinting pace. Hopefully, if she moved quickly, she would not be noticed by either Lear or her reptile friend.

✽The uttering of the word, "Hey!" brought Avery's attention back to the present. She turned her head and in that exact moment her eyes widened as a scream tried but failed to escape her lips. The headmaster had been sucked into the earth. How? How had this happened? What was going on? This was no normal detention. This was something far deeper. Far darker than she at first realized. Something terribly wrong was going on and she had the feeling something worse was about to happen. She had to get out of there, but there was no escape. She couldn't just abandon everything. She had to help.
Fire raged and burned hot. Tearing apart the forest where Avery saw the creature. An acromantula. How? How was this possible? Avery hadn't realized the creatures still lurked in the forest. She thought they had disappeared. Apparently she was very wrong.
She could hear Mikey nearby. She turned her head only to see his panic stricken face staring back at her. She had to protect him. She was the Gryffindor. The fearless and brave one. Mikey had taken care of her so many times before. It was her turn to jump into the fire and protect him.
"I'm sorry." Was all that escaped her lips as she turned and began to run. Ripping her wand out from where it had been hidden in her robes. Her two braids flapping behind her from the rush of her running.
She couldn't look back at Mikey behind her. He probably thought she was crazy and he was going to try and stop her. She couldn't let that happen. She had to keep running. If she looked back, she would stop. For him. There was no stopping now.
“Expelliarmus!” Avery called out as she attempted to do the wand movement while running. The spell was pointed at the acromantula. She just hoped all would work out. ✽

Detention Detail

The chaos around her finally seemed to catch her eyes. Linda looked around at all the fire. Chaotic unlike hers it seemed to be out of control of whoever thought it was a good idea to do it. She was oblivious to the effects that her own spell caused. For her nothing out of ordinary happened. Was it good? Considering that some were now suffering from spiders, snakes and other things perhaps it wasn't bad. However, she was a bit bored.
As there was no further communication between her and Ara, Linda decided to join other group of people. She wasn't sure whether it was a good idea or she would be walking directly to the danger, but she was already looking around. She noticed Della's reaction to whatever the older girl faced and Linda had to admit that it was unsettling. Reyna's partner for detention seemed to be in a need of help.
Making the decision that was more than likely not leading her to any safety, she decided to approach Della. She left the place she was standing in and started to walk towards where she saw her racing co-captain. Her wand was with her, under her arm, however she didn't know what to cast. A shield could be not bad choice but she was looking for something more useful.
Della, are you okay? While thinking about what to cast, she has already reached her friend. As the older girl was directed seemingly to the forest, Linda realized she needed some spell. But for some reason she couldn't decide what to cast. She sighed. With missing Headmaster and all the chaos around going to the forest definitely was a bad idea. But she wasn't going to walk away now.
Hopefully she was ready for whatever they were walking into. By some weird reason she wasn't scared, yet she wasn't reckless either. Or so she thought while continuing her walking with Della.

@Skylar Blue ReducioWC
620 words ReducioOOC NOTES
Coded by Melissa BlakeHoly. Saints.
Everything was blurry. Between my tears and ragged breath, I smelled smoke. Fire. Sky was shouting. What the hell was going on?
Fire. Screams. Big spiders. Blood.
Out of all the ways the human body could react to a traumatic event, my body always chose to Freeze. Flight. I froze when my dad told me about mom's death. I froze at her funeral. I froze when I first got into Hogwarts. I froze when Sky yelled and dragged me out of there.
Not because I wanted to. I wanted to fight. But my limbs felt heavy. My heart hammered against my chest. I didn't care about the disappearence of the Headmaster or the fact that we got caught again. No. All I could focus in was the blood and screams. The fire. The spiders.
And suddenly, I was there again. At the cementery in London. I was ten. And all I could focus in was the coffin being buried six feet under the ground while my dad tried to say something and I just stood there, watching my mom go away forever. My mind was... gone. I remember I only reacted when dad took my hand and tried to take me out of there.
My body came out from the shock and I dropped too my knees, punching the ground and scratching the dirt of the earth, crying and yelling at the stone with her name, commanding her to come back, to wake up and tell me it was all a joke.
I remember dad dragging me out of there. I kept screaming until he had to launch me into the car and lock me in there.
"No! Don't take her off me! Don't touch me! Come back! Ma!"
"Ma!"
I wasn't there. I was here, now, and now there were screams and blood everywhere.
And now, I only reacted when I felt the impact on my ribs. Sky was busy fighting a spider, and none of us noticed that another one was approaching us until it was too late. I didn't feel the warmth of Skylar's hand over mine anymore, all I could feel was the pain of falling over my back, and the horrible feeling of...
Saints. I didn't feel my left arm at all.
Don't look at it, don't look at it...
I looked at it. And it was twisted in a way that I know, for sure, it shouldn't be twisted.
But it wasn't a real problem right now. Cause right now, the spider was coming back to me. It seemed like it wanted to drag me to the fire with her. I somehow managed to kick her off me, but the pain over my ribs when it walked over me to get away was unbearable. I couldn't breathe. I think I broke a rib or two. I'm dying here.
I'm dying and dad will be alone. I'm dying the same way my mom died. I never did anything with my life. I'm dying I'm dying I'm dying...
All I could do was hold my arm (or whatever it was now) against my chest and scream in horror and pain, hoping someone would hear me.Stamina: 6 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 4 | Wisdom: 7 | Arc Power: 6 | Accuracy: 6Abilities:'s grace
