Abilities: Evasive Maneuvers
Mentioning: @Avery Abernathy@Tatiana Contraire@Ophelia Vanderbilt
Actions: Leading Tatiana to the seal, introducing T to Ave and vice versa, talking to Ave.
"Phew!" Did he add a short, not really loud splintering sound right after the fist bump with Ave, stretching his palm into the shape of a star, then making slight waves in the air with it, as if the fist bump was an explosion and the following movements ressembled the smoke, or the blast wave that always came afterwards. That all was accompanied with a little smile.
Ave informed him of her phobia, and Paul stitched his eyebrows, coming up with a genuinely sympathetic expression. "Whoa... I'm really sorry." Uttered the boy, seeing her unease as he was speaking about the insects. Hm, interesting. The fear must be really grave, if she can't even listen to some facts about them. Ran through the boy's mind. Though, that's what phobias usually are, right? Pressing fears which occur for no particular reason. Just like that... out of the blue. What a pain. Poor her.
"And sorry for speaking about insects, too. Should have known better." Paul stated, embarrassed crimson climbing the sides of his neck. He then paused speaking to think if he himself had any phobias. Nah, nothing that I can think of. Perhaps, I should ask mum. She might know better than me. -Really, Paul? Have you miraculously forgotten about your fear of the dark? What a lucky coincidence! Replied the painfully, cruelly honest part of his conscience.
Paul grimaced, breathing in to admit: "Listen, if it makes you feel better, you're not the only Gryffindor on this spot of land that fears something. I'm afraid of..." He never finished the sentence for he got distracted again, this time by the tree branch.
'I don't know, maybe. I've never actually seen a ward before, but I guess it should look like this, just... not cracked.'
Paul's eyebrows stitched, as he examined the seal a little longer, before he stood up, heading away.
As they were rushing towards he and Avery's original place, he couldn't help it but thought aloud; "Hey, T... is it a big deal, if what we found really is a ward? I mean, in my world, wards are just... like, markers of an estate or a piece of land. To prevent quarrels between neighbours, ya know?" The boy started asking @Tatiana Contraire questions about the wards that he apparently didn't know an answer to. Perhaps, he should have read more. He should have known.
As he was leading T to the place where he and Ave had been standing, having to avoid randomly bumping into those standing by. People started forming groups. Some were working, others less. The group with the fire, for example, Paul saw, and thought about going there for a moment, to find out what was up. No, Paul. You have other business to deal with, remember? The ward! Thought the boy.
"Hey, Ave! I've brought someone who might know! Ave, Tatiana, hell of a duellist and a person who I'm lucky to call a friend." Paul smiled with a small smile at the brunette Hufflepuff, then went on to introduce T to Avery. "T, Avery, my detention coworker."
After having introduced them, he squatted by the seal in the ground again. "Here it is..." Did he breathe out, running his fingers over the object.

Apparently the thoughts of Headmaster about her could get even worse as it seemed like he thought she was too proud of too arrogant to get herself a partner without his help. However, she just wanted to focus on cleaning, not the chatting that would distract and she already didn't feel safe enough here.
Although the pairing turned out to be not bad. She knew Ara, not well, and they certainly didn't chat since some years, but it wasn't unknown person. Linda sighed, decided to give up with bothering what Headmaster would think else about her. She touched her wand subconsciously shortly after the unknown unnerving knocking. Soon after some students started to face some difficulties beyond just cleaning this huge place.
It wasn't safe here, but she also didn't know where it would be? She trusted Headmaster enough to keep them safe, but he was only one and there were way too many of them with different situations. Or was it a part of his detention? Did he plan it so all of them could think better next time before breaking rules? Linda didn't know the answer so she decided to not think about it more.
So she decided to just keep focusing on what she was doing. Caeruleus Inflamarae Linda decided to attempt a little spell. It wasn't much. It didn't help with cleaning, it certainly didn't offer safety, but she liked this spell. It made her feel less stressed. And she still didn't need to cast protego. It wasn't necessary just yet.

Angel just smiled and laughed. If Cecilia didn't forge the slip then someone else did. She probably was aware that it was. Unless she was just as blind as she was back then.
"Well if you didn't then someone was clever enough to hand it to you or you knew and went with it. Your just as guilty as I am!" she laughed
Yes it would seem like Angel was lightened up. She could make use of the time outside. It would do her well. Yet there was this feeling of defensiveness she couldn't shake. It lingered like a lead stuck in a twig waiting to fall. The chilly winds were harshly but it was pleasing to her skin no beaming sun overcasting her head. She wouldn't be so sluggish anymore either which was good. Still she can be agile.
"I'm only teasing! Your good. No hard feelings ok?" she said with a cheery tune
Cecilia was talking with Charlotte perhaps debating or arguing about Quidditch and practices. Angel although she would not know thing about the sport but surely there was other stuff to worry about. Perhaps doing work? It felt like she was the only one doing the lifting. No matter, at least they kept themselves busy. However making amends would be great.
"I apologize. I'm just bitter that I wished I knew better. Now I'm here because of my lack of knowledge but we're all here for something." she said
One thing about her is that she's honest and also takes accountability with fixing the grounds and detention she'd guess.

She would nod slightly as she heard Miss Decipio explain her kinship ties to Winnie, "I see...", why had she not noticed it sooner? Both girls had red hair and striking eyes. Not to mention Miss Decipio was the maid of honor.
"Yes... we have met..." Her pale eyes would slowly move to look at Winnie, confirming that Evelynn was not a stranger to her, "My family... gifted... their sponsorship over the summer carnival." Humming softly in thought, she glanced back at Evelynn, remembering the section she read over her morning tea. "I did not see the piece in person, but the feature on parchment was lovely." If she were asked about her absence, she would blankly state, "I had... matters to tend to."
Nabi's hand would curl slightly before moving to hold her hands behind her back. Her summer had been quiet, filled with the tall shadows of a foggy path, searching for a way out of the labyrinth Aamon seemed to have called her into. That was until a letter had managed to slip through the cracks, sunlight glinting against rusted chains.
"Mat- Mr. Campbell" She would turn to follow everyone's gaze, tilting her head as she saw him walk towards the forest. Unlike her peers, she did not panic; instead, she watched him in amusement, "Let him take a closer look..." I want to see... "perhaps he saw a critter."
Without another word, she would follow behind Matthew, walking with her hands behind her back as if it were any random forest calling for souls. She would be about a few feet away from Matthew when she turned back, a small smile on her face as she called out to the upperclassmen, "Or are any of you worried about some rotten wood?"
Her gaze would shift onto Marshal, remembering their first interaction by the great lake, "Instead of the absence of your own roar."

@Lauren Vanes Banner by Madeline Tomlinson
Rosie finished up with her crude, muggle healing methods. Now that the adrenaline had worn off a bit and she was able to think without the 'fight or flight' running through her veins, she recognized how sloppy things were. Seriously, a few plasters and some paste wouldn't do much for her friend. If only she'd packed a true potion, or some gauze or something. Well, she'd first have to go through her bag, as it was full of a lot of stuff, in order to fit something new.
She did know, though, that Lauren needed some serious medical help, since Rosie still didn't know if she'd been concussed by a branch or something serious like that. Nothing appeared to be broken, but still.
"Hey, I think we should bring you to the Nur..." she began to say, before she was cut off by Lauren saying her name. Rosalyn followed her motioning, towards what she assumed was the Forbidden Forest. As mentioned by the name, it was very, very much so forbidden to all of the students, to her knowledge.
And Lauren wanted to go in there? No, no. She's probably talking about something else, or just gestured in the wrong direction, she thought to herself, sure that her friend wouldn't be suggesting that they go into a potentially deadly place.
Then, Lauren continued her sentence, and Rosie's hope was immediately extinguished by the talk of 'escaping boring reality' and 'fun not leading to injuries'. Oh, boy.
"Lauren, I don't want to be rude or anything, but you're really injured." she started, trying not to sound harsh or too motherly, knowing just what connection Lauren had with those horrible, foul, disgusting...her parents, with her parents.
"And no, before you say anything about me having healed you, the plasters and paste isn't going to do much. We need to get you help, or at least not get into any more danger while you're like this!" she said, stepping a bit closer, noticing Lauren's intentions to wander.

@Lauren Vanes Banner by Madeline Tomlinson
Rosie saw Lauren roll her eyes, and knew that there was no chance in the world of the girl listening to her.
Why is this always how it is with her? she wondered, but not meanly. It was more of just a fact-where there was Lauren, chaos was sure to follow suite.
Then, when Lauren tried to claim that she was fully uninjured and that detention was just boring and how they 'might as well' just go into one of the most dangerous places that they could choose to go into.
But, before Rosie could say any of what she was thinking or try to argue back with Lauren, she'd already run off, into a clump of trees.
I mean, seriously, how hard is it to make things easy? Just do the task, stay put, and be safe until the night is over and we're allowed to go inside and sleep, Rosie thought, a bit bitterly, as she reluctantly followed her friend.
I just want to go and rest, but nOoOoO, of course not, she thought again, as she tried not to absolutely collide into anything. With her clumsiness, she'd be lucky to make it out of the Forest alive, let alone uninjured!
Detention Detail
⠀ IV. Sweat, tears or the woods.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The thumping of the heart, the wandering and trembling of the pupils that made the world perceivable to us, the shaking of the fingertips – though it was neither cold nor nerve-wracking – to stand there beside the tall wall of woods and leaves, so close, yet untouchable where they were. An intuition long ignored, due to the lack of danger faced at home, and the careful gaze he kept on all those around him, for they were very unlikely to sneak up behind him and surprise him with an unpleasant offering. Yet, as the dangers that loomed in the darkness of the woods tugged at the student’s curiosity and hunger for adventure from behind the trees, calling and pulling him in with a croaky, breathy voice – come and see for yourself, come and try – for if you survived, all of this would be a hell of a story.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ In the long, uncut grass at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, the pair of eleven-year-olds heard the slither and hiss of a snake. Yet, while one of them heard words, the other only heard an incoherent sound that carried no more of a message than a gust of wind. Sebastien did not fear snakes, and his gaze caught a glimpse of it between the strands of grass, following it until, at the lack of the girl’s acknowledgement – Sebastien did not know the snake awaited – it slithered away, perhaps to the next set of students, to try its luck there.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ He did not realise that the girl might have understood what the snake muttered in its long, withered tongue, unbeknown to him. As the snake moved past them, his attention returned to the student in front of him, whom he had managed to both insult and flatter within the span of about five minutes, and to her expression, which he observed shyly. Yet he did not miss the bitter undertones, nor the way her lips formed a faint frown.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Despite his heroic offers and his proposal to do most of the work, along with a desperation disguised behind his best attempt at kind, sheepish words, the girl’s face showed no sign of being impressed, and her answer was clear before it even rang out in the chilly morning air.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ “I would rather work with someone else,” she said, her voice cold as ice, as if the end of winter, the blooming of spring petals on the trees, and the melting of ice into water had no effect on her tone.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The rejection was harsh – a reminder of his place in the society of this castle, where he had spent almost a year and still struggled to make any connections. She was clearly disinterested, just as he had expected before some kind of devil overwhelmed his sensibility and he approached her with an offer to pair up.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ As he had suspected, she probably had other connections she wanted to pair up with, or simply wanted to pair up with anyone other than him. He supposed he did look foolish standing there, at a loss for how to respond to her rejection. How much time had passed? He had not managed to keep track, but he knew it was time to get out of there before she called over the headmaster – though the man seemed rather busy with other students – which would only further embarrass Sebastien and perhaps earn him a scolding.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ "Uh… I apologize. Have a… uh… good day," he said awkwardly. Slowly, with his gaze fixed straight ahead in an attempt to hide his embarrassment, he walked away, not wanting to disrupt her day or cloud her view any longer.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ His feet led him astray, away from the gathering groups of students who had already found partners or joined their circles of friends and had started clearing the debris. His gloves and shears were still tightly gripped in his hands as he pondered what to do next: attempt, in desperation, to find another partner (though his chances were slim, as most had already paired up, were working, or chatting with people he could not remember ever seeing in the corridors); start cleaning the debris by himself (which did not sound so bad, given his newness to the school and his lack of knowledge about the forest and the horrors hidden behind the densely growing tree trunks – it was a weighty choice); or try to make the long day ahead a little more interesting (perhaps searching for the snakes that had been slithering around, maybe tossing one into a student’s hood or shoulder bag to earn a passing laugh).
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Though none of his options were particularly mature or well considered, he chose perhaps the worst – though it did not seem so to him at the time – and, after checking carefully to see if anyone was watching, he slipped deeper into the forest, farther from the crowds of other adolescents and teens. The thickening silence began to envelop him as his attempt to detach from the group and wander into unexplored territory became increasingly palpable and real.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ To his untrained eye, and his unfamiliarity with his sudden flashes of intuition, he failed to remain sensible in the face of adventure, for it was all that called to him on a morning like this – bland and boring, yet capable of being turned inside out and transformed into a lifelong memory.
