Dialogue: Liana - #09621b
Interacting with: @Maggie Hawkins | @Matthew Gray | @Avery Chen | @Vale Ashwood | @Enrico Gathorne
"I think you've gotten confused, Liana. Everyone knows that Matt is going with Maggie!"

Avery's words hit the redhead heavy like a sledgehammer, confirming her suspicions and furthering her sense of humiliation. Matthew Gray had indeed invited Maggie to the ball as well, and was probably looking forward to making fun of Liana in public. Likely hoping to drive a wedge into the girls' friendship, too. What had she done to him to deserve this? She was actually looking forward to playing some mild mindgames with him, trying to catch him in his feigned mediocrity while herself pretending to not suspect how good he actually was at most of what he did. Apparently, Gray didn't want the same. He had clearly chosen to wage open war on Liana, and his first blow was as sneaky as it was painful.

''Everyone? Really?'' she responded to Avery, not taking her eyes off Matt. ''I was under the impression that he invited me to the ball on September twentieth. He came to me in the library, asked me if I like to party, and said he wanted to party together. When I accepted the proposal, he said 'It's done then, see you at the ball'. Sounds an awful lot like an invitation, doesn't it?'' The hazel eyes, slightly glinting with excess moisture that was threatening to pour out and start rolling down her cheeks, were glaring piercingly at Gray. She quoted him as closely as she could, the interaction having taken place over a month ago only a dim memory by now. Yet she was sure those were the words he'd uttered. Not the most direct invitation, true, but an invitation nonetheless. Why else would a boy seek out a girl and ask her about 'partying together' at a major event? Her face was burning red with the embarrassment of having to explain the situation to what seemed to her like a whole lot of people.

''Maggie, I think he tricked both of us just to have fun at our expense, while we try to unravel the situation,'' she addressed the dark-haired girl, determined to not allow Matthew break up their friendship. Nor to explain himself before she did her best to turn the situation around and make people hate him instead of laughing at her. ''He probably hoped that we'd fight each other for him, too,'' she speculated, almost sure this wasn't the case but going for the maximum vilification of this horrible boy nonetheless.

Vale's interjection, the usual attempt to incite violence, made Liana's hand clasp her purse tighter, fighting the urge to pull her wand out of it and comply with the idea of a deadly showdown. Well, maybe not deadly, but she'd make sure to at least send Gray to the hospital wing. Or better yet, leave him lying unconscious in the mud, where he belonged.

''Maybe next time, Vale, I do think there are too many witnesses here presently.'' She had no idea what had gotten into her and made those words come out of her very own mouth. It was likely the combination of fury and shame. She shot one more angry glare at Gray before her focus was torn away from her newfound enemy by a boy shrouded in white. Only it didn't remain white for long, since he fell straight into mud and seemed to attract the attention of numerous bystanders, as well as some members of her own group. Which made Liana feel rather grateful, since that meant people would not be thinking about her own humiliation so much - this boy had just outshone her in that respect. As she watched him stand up, momentarily freed from his outlandish garb, she realized that she'd met him before. On the train ride to Hogwarts, no less. He had boasted about his smarts and how he would likely end up in Ravenclaw. The redhead rummaged in her brain for a few seconds before finally recovering his name.

''Enrico?'' He was still very much the oddball she remembered. Which, in this situation, was a wonderful thing. ''Is that a... ghost costume?'' the question was mostly meant to keep people focused on the boy rather than herself. And truly, there was so much to focus on. He had thrown a white blanket on himself and hoped to imitate the appearance of a ghost? That was... a horrible attempt, too. He'd been at the haunted castle of Hogwarts for almost two months now, he must have met multiple ghosts and seen that they look just like humans, albeit transparent and gliding some feet above the ground. This must have been some Muggle gimmick. ''Well, um- Everyone, this is Enrico. Enrico, this is Maggie, Avery, Vale, and- and my name is Liana.'' At the very last second she had made the choice of not introducing Matthew Gray. He did not deserve any sort of attention from her anymore. ''I'm not sure if you remember me. We shared a cabin on Hogwarts Express?''

Meeting @Jack Warren
There were definite advantages to having an agreement with your date that you should skip all the fancy ballgowns and just go to the ball in jeans. While everyone went bustling off, taking hours to prepare, Dee was still lazing around in the common room, sideways in an armchair with her legs dangling over one armrest and her head over the other, watching people walking back and forth, upside down.

Honestly, she wouldn't have known what to wear otherwise. The posters hadn't been very enlightening, they had shown couples in old-fashioned clothing (were they supposed to wear that?) dancing in front of giant pumpkins (was it... harvest themed? Perhaps her outfit was more appropriate than she'd thought?) and mentioned Samhain which... Dee really didn't know much about, honestly, beyond a vague association with Halloween. Were people going to show up in costumes, then? They'd done that last year already.

Anyway, jeans it was, and since Jack and her had also agreed to not arrive all that early, she had plenty of time before she finally rolled off her armchair, the motion languorous and lazy. Fine then. Time to go, she supposed. She made some concession to the occasion by putting some effort into her hair, braiding it back at the sides of her head and tying it into a ponytail, but honestly, half of that was still practicality. (Pretty practicality.) A black top over the jeans, a teal plaid shirt, open. Her accessories consisted of a pair of golden studs in her earlobes and a sunflower, carried in her hand for now.

When she finally skipped down out of the castle towards the grounds in her white sneakers, fashionably late might already have been stretching it a little, but she wasn't too worried. There would surely still be plenty of fun (or chaos) to partake in.

Jack spotted her before she saw him, and she brightened up, a grin spreading on her face at the sight of his enthusiastically waving hand. "Hi Jack!" she greeted, casting a glance around the entrance area of the festival. It was pretty, leaning fully into the fall theme, and she shot Jack a smile, mischief dancing in her eyes. "Ready to face this year's chaos?" On a whim, she stretched out a hand towards him, offering it. "We made it through a blizzard like this, this should be even better, yeah?"

His confusion around Liana's confusion was disrupted by Vale's cheery horrific greeting. The girl noted that, sadly, there were no torture devices to be found. Indeed, it must be an absolute disappointment for the Queen of Fright -- who could she possibly frighten if there weren't any torture devices? He wondered briefly if Vale would have fun putting him in a torture device should there be any laying around. Was that what Ashwoods did to their ball partners, just as spiders killed their mates?

He didn't really want to think about it right now.

Instead, for good measure, he took a look at her black dress decorated with eyes and complimented it. "Hi Vale! I like your dress!" he said, finally understanding why she had given him eyes for his outfit. Although he wasn't sure that particular dress was the rage of the season in most girls' fashion magazines, it seemed to suit Vale Ashwood perfectly. For self-expression, the girl would score a perfect 100. "I guess we can spot all our enemies this way, and push them into any torture devices we come across?" he joked, not intending for anyone to take him seriously.

With that, he turned back to Liana, Matthew, and Maggie, who were themselves in a tight pickle of a contraption. "Yeah, I specifically remember him telling me that he was going to ask Maggie to the ball the day the pumpkins ran amok. If I knew, I supposed others would know, too." Surely, Liana must've known? Why did she seem so surprised? He listened as she retold the story of how she was invited by his dormmate. That seemed like an invitation to him, even though it was a little vague. So, the sleepy boy really did mess up and ask both girls, didn't he? "I see," Avery mused thoughtfully. He wouldn't put it past Matt to forget everything he did the previous day. The boy was a bit muddled in the head from oversleeping, after all. Slept until the sun roasted his butt and brains. "I don't think he would've done it just for fun, though. He's just not the brightest bulb in the box," Avery shrugged, coming to Matt's defense, or so he thought.

He couldn't help but grin as Vale suggested each of them fight in a free for all, or whatever she meant. You never knew with Vale. "Nah, Vale, if it comes down to a fight or a duel, I don't think anyone would be able to beat Liana; just look at the fire in her eyes," he suggested, ready to make his bets if it came down to it. However, it seemed that Liana was way too in-control of her emotions and her image -- despite her fury -- to do such a thing. Of course. Seemed like there wasn't going to be any action here today, unfortunately.

Before he knew it, a kid wrapped in a dirty sheet tumbled past Avery's legs and into the center of their little group, almost bowling him down. "Whoa!" he called, stepping to the side, "Are you okay?" However, Avery need not worry, as the boy popped right back up and flung the patchy sheet back over his head to introduce himself in dirtied-ghost form. But Maggie was right, the guy looked like a dirty Kleenex, and he couldn't help but let out a hearty guffaw while stepping back half a step as to not get any of that gunk on his own white shirt. He never thought he'd meet a boy who could be more oblivious or clumsy than himself, and somehow Enrico's antics made Avery feel more grown-up than the immature kid he still was. "Sorry, man, no candy," he said, "but there's loads of food in the tent in the Quidditch Pitch if you have the munchies. By the way, do ghosts even eat?" he asked with a small laugh, because he was dead funny. "Pretty sure that any food would just fall through your insides."

"Listen, Victor. I know Marion may be your friend, but she's cursed someone important to me and I'm not going to let you put yourself in harm's way for her sake. Not while I have something to say about it."

Jack would claim, twisting Victor's stomach in knots. Why did everyone have to thin the worst of him. Of her? Of them? "I don't know what you are talking about," Victor would reply. He was not entirely lying, there was a gut feeling that there was something wrong. That had been there a long time, but a fifth sense he relegated to paranoia, death and uncertainty being contagious. "She has suffered as much as any of us," he claimed. "Maybe more," he muttered lowly. it was a bit chauvinistic, perhaps chivalrous to come to the conclusion he had -- that poor, defenseless Marion was a victim in all of this. That she needed a white knight. That perhaps he was her white knight. A delusion he had fed himself for years.

A look of determination would come over Victor. "I won't let you, any of you hurt her." His heart was in the right place but in truth the boy had been duped. Marion was a pretty face that understood the power of expression, of a smile, and of a teen's hero complex. Victor and Vlad both had wasted an incredible amount of time and other resources for the sake of her protection against a curse that never had her. In the wake of injuries that were self-inflicted. "If she wants to dance with that" he did not call him a piece of shit but he sure thought it. "She has the same right any of you do," he argued. From his perspective, a rather reasonable one in fact - she was flirting with an evasive boy that could simply reject her. Instead, people were attacking her. Based on what? The presumption that she cursed, like the both of them. Suffering valiantly through the years. Bullied, harassed and left terrified.

“She left you to die, and so you did.”

LeStrange would call out to Victor. Crass, rude, the same asshole he remembered or at least the memory he was in possession of. "Mary, get away from him?" His tone questioning, incredulous really. What was the guy's problem? How was he able to bend over with that stick so far up his ass? A mystery!

Ami the bear would attempt to bite Victor's hand. Her side in this matter, apparently the same as the Thomas' -- the boy who seemed to make a pastime of being an arse yet had the power or perhaps unseen charisma to rally the support of people he would never regard. He was in Victor's eye a loved bully and nothing more. The animagus would miss, Victor would stumble away from the brute. "Merlin!" He shouted. Yes, the dead did judge and they judged the girl harshly. With teeth that bit and gnashed, that could rip and tear. "I am not going to stand down," he announced but his voice wavered. He was terrified but he was also brave and would not yield.

Only he would not have choice in the matter as Percival Rainwood, a dormmate would cast Immobulus. For that Victor would have no defense as his arms and his legs snapped to his sides. He had no will, lacked the strength to overcome as his body became rigid. He could not speak, he could not even announce a warning or a final regard as he teetered and as he fell. Vulnerable in his bound state he would experience the same fear that has always pervaded him. The fear of people, of places, of events and of greater spaces. The knowledge that this would occur, that something would go wrong and that he would suffer was no fear, it was a learned consequence that he preferred to claim was fear.

He would fall, perhaps be caught. Perhaps concuss as his head hit the ground, his faith was faltering and failed. He would be left to see the sky, the backs and the legs of his peers, some enemies. Ileen would demand that they stop, but who. Him, the bound and defenseless. Thomas, Marion's tormentor. His mooks, the varied students many of whom he could not call by name that haphazardly involved themselves violently to Thomas' cause.

There was a difference between them already. He never drew blood. He never even tried. He could not say the same of them. They were going to kill him again he was rather certain. They were going to hurt Mary too, maybe even kill her. It was terrible knowing there was nothing he could do to save her, to save himself.

Talk of dropped flowers, an apology he did not believe.

Talk of hags -- Marion was too pretty to be a hag. He did not believe the professed claim but he believed that the statement was there for the sake of a reason. They were not bullies', but heroes. Easier to sleep at night when there is vile blood on their hands and they were the hero rather than the villain.

Vale's wearing her ball gown made up of doll eyes, and her giant hair bow, matching Avery Chen's uniform.
Vale bowed slightly in approval of Avery's compliment towards her dress. For her to work so hard to sow the many eyes of her dolls' onto her dress, well, it was no easy task. Not when there were some plotting revenge for making their eyes trophies to her crime. "Why thank you, Avery. It was no easy task. Some of them came back for revenge. But it was no issue. I won, in the end." She boasted, like she was only getting a complimented on her good grades.
"I guess we can spot all our enemies this way, and push them into any torture devices we come across?"

Vale didn't say anything, but that sounded like a great idea, coming from Avery nonetheless even! Her excitement was already getting the better of her that she even ended up encouraging a battle to the death.

And to Vale's excitement, it was, indeed, the clash of the titans! Even Avery joined in, rooting for Liana's success. Vale was also ready to cheer on for a battle of bloodthirst and agony that she had encouraged for, but instead, she was denied of her excitement. As always, in the school of Hogwarts.

"Maybe next time, Vale, I do think there are too many witnesses here presently.''

Vale made a small frown, and her disappointment was obvious. She wrapped her hands together and rested them against one of her cheeks. She let out a soft sigh. But she kept some hope; Liana said next time, after all.

And just like that, Vale's expression changed once more when something white immediately flashed in front of her and splattered itself into the mud-soaked ground. She looked down in confusion, tilting her head to observe whatever it was that decided mud was far more amusing than...well, whatever this festival was. When it slowly revealed itself from the formerly white blanket surrounding it, Vale realized it was that of a young boy. Probably around her age even. She moved her hands away from her cheek, fidgeting them in front of herself. She had to carefully reminded herself that if anything that overtakes her curiousity, it doesn't mean she can simply just dive into putting her hands (and mouth) all over it. Especially people. Laws and stuff.

After all the commotion died down, she was finally able to catch the boy's name. Enrico. "My, what a way to drop in!" She crackled, clapping her hands together like she heard a pleasing joke. When Avery spoke about the digestive system of ghosts, she decided on instinct to blurt out something; knowledge, that she would mysteriously know about."I don't think ghosts even eat real food. Something about enjoying the smell of trash. That's what my mother told me, anyways." Vale nodded to herself, moving her eyes back to the whole group.

"Now, as much as I enjoy standing around and watching the world burn. We should partake in the things around us! How about the matchmaking tent? I think I heard a person or two around here say there's a book that tells how our future relationships will go. Who knows! Maybe one of us is destined to kill one another."

Marion was the victim only of her own making. Seen often as the damsel in need of saving. The pretty, pink, weak yet willful young woman that just needed a strong, valiant, capable man to keep her safe. To be her white knight. A role that some, those with romantic and soft, foolish hearts would easily fall into. Victor saw himself as her protector, a failed one but her protector. Marion had long known this, Vladimir was no less foolish, just more durable.

The rule of three would come to pass. Three curses. Three failures. Thomas LeStrange somehow left untouched. The fates had a will that was not her own. The three was compulsory. Thomas would try again to reveal secrets that were not his to know. Hags were known to be foul beings that favor the decrepit and foul. That festoon themselves wretchedly. Their descriptions that of crooked noses and blemishes that they would pick at until they made great and terrible draining sores.

The hag that Thomas had seen could be described as hideous. A twisted carriage with a kyphotic back and pendulous breasts. Joints swollen, teeth crooked and flesh so sallow that one would have thought the crone approaching death yet power seemed to extrude from the crone that would cause even the most hot-blooded to grow cold.

What made Marion different was the fact that she made an attempt to fit in. She lived in the dorms. She learned alongside her peers. The book had come to bear her name, she earned a seat in Hogwarts as a witch. When did this happen? How and when did she change? Questions none would bother to ask, they had somehow gotten enough answers as it was. They had learned of truths that they needed no proof of beyond suspicions and the word of another.

Attacks were being slung, interventionalists that knew not what they did. Victor would try and fail to protect her. He was bloody useless anyways. He would be taken out before he was terrifically useful. Thomas would tell him that she left him to die. A truth in ways that neither of them would fully understand. The look of shock and anguish on his face as he breathed his last. The boy knew how to die beautifully.

She wondered what sort of face Thomas would make suffering. It was him that she needed to hurt for her own amusement and more to spread the anguish. Thomas was a source of pity, misplaced yearning and worst of all the focus of so many pathetic advances. Many would mourn him, but he would not mourn a single one of them. Oh the look on their faces the moment that they realized the disparity.

She would have stayed and played, even if Thomas could no longer be directly her plaything. The rule of three demanded it, at least for today. For this instance. She would break him tomorrow. Her gaze to the heavens, the one thing a girl would fear. Those roiling clouds creeping from the horizon. The rough gale that carried the rains that would soon follow.

There's a lot to see here, her accompaniment had intoned. The understatement of the year. It was though Evelynn had blinked and suddenly the ball had devolved into chaos. Like a spark to the fumes of a mostly empty gas cannister, Lestrange's arrival had set into motion a cascading reaction of violence. No more than a few seconds after stepping foot onto the festive grounds and he had provoked the hag. Eyes flying wide in shock, Evelynn watched, entrapped, as the plan frayed into friable linen, torched as the wick for the flames. The plan... The plan. She didn't even know what to do. Rooted to the spot, she could only watch in growing horror as every once of control slipped from her fingertips, replaced with a frigid sense of insecurity.

There was the obvious growing battle between Davenport—no, the hag—and Lestrange. Evelynn even saw as she attempted to lean in to plant him with a kiss. How many times had she done that, the prefect wondered? How many students had fallen prey to her lips, and to what effect? She didn't want to know... Then the accessory duels as Moore attempted to intervene on her behalf and others attempted to deter him. Ryan, corralled in by a growing tiff between Hess and Lowe. Then a bear arriving headstrong into the fray. Really, it was all too much to take in. There was no wonder Evelynn had failed to act for a moment, trying—in vain—to take some sort of stock of the situation and wanting to be everywhere at once, and managing absolutely nothing at all.

The hag, she eventually, decided, settling her gaze upon that which was immediately before her. That was the biggest threat. Everything else could wait for the time being, she decided. Besides, any more inaction and she may as well not have come at all. She was already taking a step towards Lestrange, a strange new-found loyalty driving her to do what she could to protect him despite his idiotic antics, when she remembered that she wasn't alone. Pulling her wand from its place of hiding, she turned an concerned look to Levi.

"Please," she solicited, doing her best to keep her voice calmly authoritative. "Get yourself to safety. Find a professor if you can. I know they're here somewhere. I don't want to have to worry about protecting you as well."

Delaying only long enough to be certain that Levi wasn't about to be following her into the fray did she turn, hurrying forward with wand in hand to close the distance with an intent to flank Davenport at an angle so that any missed spells would have the least likelihood of going into the ranks of her fellow students. "Immobulus!" she shouted.

Most people seemed to put their focus on the star of the ball, Erin Ryan and Marion Davenport, whilst the others escorted themselves to the fall ball tent to escape from the fight or simply just to see what it would look like. As if nature can read the situation, it became much darker than before, acting like a black veil that covered the whole area. The explosion of the thunder sounded like an orchestra, intensifying as the battle reached its peak. Raindrops slowly fell from the sky, just a drizzle, nothing major. Beyond any doubt, it wouldn't be enough to wash over the gore evidence on the grounds.

Fast and Alluring

In less than five hours, the part veela would transform into an evil thing. Helps were on the site, wands drawn towards her. There was no denying that Erin had the agility of a cheetah and the beauty of whatever the prettiest creature in the world. Would they be able to do it before midnight and possibly save the life of the students?

Serena couldn't match with Erin's superior swiftness. Her spell would miss and hit the ground instead, unfortunately, it was impossible for the ground to throw up nor it had the ability to do such a thing. But it wasn't all the Hufflepuff had in mind, her small companion was incredibly brave, running towards his target with the intention to bite. Should he be more accurate, Erin would have to deal with a painful wound, however, once again she evaded.

On the other hand, it wasn't her fast movement that caused Percival Gray to miss his aim. Even with Selim's support, the appeal of a Veela was hard to fight. Instead of directing his wand at Erin, a boy that was busy minding his own business and making another slug repellant circle as protection, Galton Landsdale had to deal with a spell that came out of nowhere. Being a duelist has a perk on its own, and for now, Galton would not have to taste the mouthwatering flavour of slugs from his own guts.

Two Thomases, Lestrange and Baines, a snake and a bird. One of them had the objective to aid the other spell casters, by hopefully turning Erin's legs into a pair of jello, whilst the other one seemed to have perfectly seasoned meat, making Erin so eager to taste it.

Three times in a row, no one was able to land anything on her. What was her secret? it would be amazing if someday Erin would make a wizard podcast and share her tips and tricks called 'Keeping up with Erin Ryan' if tonight's hag transformation could be prevented. Even if the hag fate would fall upon her, being a hag celebrity wouldn't be so bad, maybe.

The sizzling sound of Thomas Lestrange on a pan perhaps would be music to her ears. But the aggression suggests that Erin liked it rare. Lestrange was the hag magnet, both Marion and the soon to be hag wanted to get a piece of him. The luck was on his side, he would have zero problem evading the hungry Slytherin as if he was a natural.

The Power of the Swamp Creature

The fight was getting more violent and it was only 8.30 pm, and yet, not a single person could handle Erin until someone decided to step into the mess. A girl in her uniform, the lake water that once drenched her probably dried out already. Some dirt and plants nestled on her body and hair, probably made her look like an unidentified humanoid lake creature to some. Her wand pointed at the uncontrollable girl as an incantation left her mouth.

This was the end of Erin's glory. As the spell hit, she would not be able to move anything, making it easier for anyone to help or harm her later on. May they be able to help with her hag problem as soon as possible.

Hogwarts and the Supersonic Hag

Moving on from the Erin situation, people had a tremendous problem in babysitting the real hag, Marion Davenport. She spent the entire night planting curse after curse on Lestrange, though, no matter how strong her hag power was, he evaded as if it was nothing. One way to stop her from moving from left to right was to freeze her. Between Bridget and Evelynn, who would be able to succeed?
Immobulus
Bridget Collins
Bridget's Wisdom
19 + 11 = 30
Bridget's Acc
17 + 10 = 27
Marion's Eva
16 + 15 = 31

Evelynn Decipio
Evee's Wisdom
16 + 14 = 30
Evee's Acc
3 + 10 = 13
Marion's Eva
4 + 15 = 19

The answer would be no one. Whether it was Marion being faster than ever, or it was the two casters who simply were not accurate enough, their attempts were unsuccessful. At least they did not end up casting it on themselves. Lots of people seemed to despise the hag so much to an extent the Viridian Vipers captain straight up playing with fire as she called for Orion Lecuyèr, the utterly handsome defense against the dark arts professor. If only he was in the same place, he would be able to hear it loud and clear.

Just like before, Lestrange would re attempt his revelio spell at the same person, hopefully it would reveal the pretty girl's true nature.
SMH you Hag

Incendio Duo
Santario's Wisdom

Santario's Accuracy

Marion's Eva

How was it possible for someone to be so quick? People must have been mistaken. She must be a ninja and not a hag. Both spells would hit a random object instead other than the target herself, the fire would die down as soon as it appeared. No one would get burned, no one would be exposed.

The Jumping Xailah

No spells were working on the girl, and your neighbourhood cat woman had a fantastic idea. Just like what cats would do in this situation, Xailah would also try to jump on top of Marion.
Xailah's Acc
19 + 10 = 29
Marion's Eva
15 + 15 = 30
Almost. But it was not enough to keep the hag in place. Instead of Marion that she was jumping on, she would land on the ground. Xailah would also notice that the grasses below her are indeed not moving, at least she succeeded to prevent the green plants from running away.

Episkey it Better

In the midst of a war, healers have a crucial role. Hopefully in the future, there would be a group of healers and interns that will always be there and ready to treat the allies' wounds. Henry took the temporary role and tried to heal Gray's open wound.
Henry's Wisdom
9 + 11 = 20
Healing
50 + (0*10) = 50
The ripped flesh would slowly healed, the pain would decrease, he would be able to stand without Selim's support anymore.

@Jürgen Hess had been unresponsive, Hugh had to tilt his head lower to see if the poor guy was even still breathing. The fact that his injuries might have been too severe to handle stirred some panic within the part-giant. The last thing he wanted was to get one of his (likely former) friends to die by his hands. Or anyone to die due to him for that matter. Still, Hugh recognized that time was passing by, and they all had a lot of work left to do. The part-giant regrettably pulled out his wand. A gnarly looking twig in his hands that he hated with every fibre in his being. “Epoximise” Hugh silently said as he cast the spell at point-blank, before stepping towards the others.

Several flashes of spells whirled ahead of him and collided in a mess of fireworks. @Erin Ryan proved to be a difficult target, as they all knew her to be. Hugh had just stepped within the crowd as they would all see one spell hit its mark. Erin froze within the blink of an eye. “Great shot!” Hugh would shout towards the girl that had been successful (@Sylvie O'Niell). He faintly recognized her from his year, but there were never any exchanged words. The fact that she managed to hit the hag-in-the-making earned her a modicum of respect at the very least.

“This is it, people! We need to get those slugs out of her! We don't know what's going to happen, but it's bound to be slimy.” The part-giant would yell with a booming voice. @Galton Lansdale was already setting up a new perimeter, that was to be their playground now. From this point on, things had to be a lot easier going forward. Any slugs that would land outside the circle, they could easily squash with their feet. It's not like she'd be inhabited by giant carnivorous slime-monsters…

Hugh adjusted his helmet on his head, tilting the cap just above his furrowed brow. His hand reached for the cannister dangling off his belt but convinced himself to believe that Galton's circle had to be enough for now. If that circle wasn't going to work, ten more wouldn't either. It was time to see if they'd find a light at the end of this tunnel.
Action: Casting Epoximise at point-blank towards @Jürgen Hess, who should still be struggling on the ground (Unless stated otherwise in this round's post).
Inventory: Wand & Repellent for Slugs
Attire: Something not plaid or fancy looking. And a Copper Kettle Helmet.

"It's too late," Hess claimed. Whatever plans they had that were time dependent would be thrown out the window. "If there was a chance, it should not have waited until the final hours," he debated as his vision swam and the earth seemed to roll out from under his feet. He did not want to hurt Hugh, or anyone for that matter but "being hurt is better than being dead." He announced the trail end of his thought.

The thought of killing anyone made him feel sick. He did not want to do it, but that was an intrinsic sentiment. It did not change the reality of the matter nor did it change the opinions others would harbor against him until the end of their days, which might be brief if he failed. "You don't hold a chance against her if she changes," this was not a matter of let's try it my way and if it does not work out then you can have your murder.

There was shouting regarding Marion, Vladimir's friend being a hag. He would glance in her direction, the girl who was first cursed if he recalled his dossier, along with the not-so-late late Victor Moore. Yes, he had a small list of people or things he intended to kill and Victor Moore had not escaped his notice. He was just not as immediate a threat as Erin was but eyes were on her. There was an inconsistency of course, one that he would bear witness to -- a declaration of one being a hag mustered the want to save her and for the other, her utter destruction.

How blithe the spectators were, those who chose to not intervene for the sake or the destruction of either. They would simply carry on with this day. Collateral damage, furnishings, future victims, nothing more.

His opportunity would come when Erin was bound, captured and fallen. Immobilized and vulnerable. It was not the way he wanted to do it but there was no other way now that his wand had been discarded (and he missed the previous round where he had not posted). He would draw his knife, a cruelly dull thing meant for lockpicking not for murder but it was the only weapon that he had. It would require ripping, an act of cruelty and strength that he feared he lacked.

But what was the other option? Allow her to transform into a monster, prove himself right and allow them to suffer their losses - a loss of life and limb, hope that nothing relevant to them suffers too greatly. "I am trying to help," he claimed knowing that the statement was useless and that he would be judged harshly. "I was hoping it would be less bloody," he muttered. He was no worse, but also no better than those that attacked Marion as she fled.

He would walk over and do what someone should have done this whole time -- stab the monster in the throat.
Outfit: Suit

Inventory: Wand, small lockpicking knife, wizard tight, corsage (for Tyranni).

Action: Wandless still, he would do things the muggle way and stab her in the neck.
