Xailah's compliment about her flower crown was answered by a smile, genuine and fond as she looked down at the delicate wreath, turning it between her fingers with care. "Thank you, I like it, too." Although mostly due to who had given them to her. They'd missed their opportunity to dance, once again.

In fact, she didn't wait long until she removed the golden crown from her head, placing the flowers back onto her hair instead, where they belonged.

The banter between Xailah and Pericles was witnessed with no small amount of amusement, a smile tugging on her lips as her gaze wandered from the older Gryffindor to her duelling partner. Rather, it was Xailah directing sharp-tongued teasing his way, and Pericles bearing it with the air of someone long-used to it, his expressions familiar. Apparently he wasn't only stingy with his quips when around her; although he was certainly capable of them.

When they left to dance, Dee sent them off with a cheerful wave, then took another sweeping gaze of the area. The ball was obviously moving towards its end as the night got older, slowly and gracefully, no big disasters. How odd, how unexpected, pleasantly so.

It seemed it was time to go.

Serena blinked, almost taken back by the volume of Cassanora's voice. She did not expect two things. One: the volume at which Cassanora spoke and two: the words that she said. Wait what? She tilted her head, blinking for a moment before the girl repeated the words. Oh. That made sense. Browne. She had not really picked up on it before, figuring it was a fairly common surname. "OH! Sorry, I didn't realise!" She quickly apologised, trying to make things less awkward or at least, not upset the girl.

"No no, that's super cool though. He's really great. I've only spoken to him a little but I like him," Serena admitted, thinking that the professor would definitely be a good father from what she had seen. There were many times when he had shown concern, care and consideration for the students of his house. None of them was related to him but he still cared for them as a parent would. He must have been a great father to her, that was her logic. Admittedly, she did not really think too hard on the matter - nor did she ask why Cassanora did not go to Hogwarts. It was not really a thought that occurred to her in the moment, she was just kind of excited to meet the head of house's daughter. Did she even know he had kids? She could not remember but it made sense!

Serena pondered for a moment before continuing, "Heck, the man has saved my life several times. I owe him quite a bit, you're pretty lucky," She continued, just musing on the fact that the head of house had quite literally helped them out so much more than she realised. And on that heavy bombshell, "Ah, I'm rambling. Anyway, it's really nice to meet you both. I should probably try and find my date and head out. See you both around?" With that, she turned and left the dance floor, heading out to try and find Milo if she could. Either way, she would end up leaving the ball shortly after, since it seemed to have ended anyway.

It was nice to have actually spent a little bit of time dancing for once, though.
