[ @Henry Knight as Charles • @Kazuo Shimada • @Dealla Prince] • mentioning Cassanora Browne
nerding out over brooms • being confused and out of her depth • dying inside • attempting to explain that Charles isn't usually like this • elbowing Charles

Charles Alluring wasn't always that great at reading people, as far as Cassie knew, but sometimes he'd manage to say exactly the right thing to lift the mood. Now was one of those times. "Thanks," Cassie murmured, with a grateful smile in her friend's direction, in response to his admission that he wasn't very good at magic either.
Cassie nodded enthusiastically when Charles suggested that they should go riding together once Cassie had gotten her new broom. "Definitely! What model are you getting? I've asked for a Shooting Star - like you have now, right?"
"Poor Cassanora!" Cassie laughed. "You'd better wear armour, hm?" she joked. Charles switched to English for his next statement, which Cassie appreciated. She didn't mind French, and was practically fluent in it now, apart from some English slang and quite a lot of weird magical terms she could never remember, but English was her first language. It was a little easier for her. "Well, that's good." The Beauxbatons girl smiled at her friend.
Weirdly, Charles didn't seem affected by Cassie's rant. Usually, he'd have been answering back with a rant of his own, or at least defend himself, but this Charles did neither. A niggling feeling grew somewhere in Cassie's brain. Something wasn't right. But she didn't have time to focus on it because of two things: firstly, her mind was flitting between what seemed like hundreds of different thoughts per second, and secondly, Charles spoke again. His words nearly left Cassie speachless. Nothing? This was not normal Charles Alluring behaviour. Cassie was so confused by this that she let Charles pull her along as he moved towards the boy.
Cassie watched with an open mouth, horrified, as Charles greeted the boy with the title 'my lord'. She tugged herself free of her friend and opened her mouth to speak - but Charles reached out to grab the boy. And spoke again. And the boy looked at him with such a cold expression that it made Cassie want to freeze to ice. "Oh goodness," she mumbled, then spoke louder. Charles had clearly lost his marbles, so it was up to Cassie Heather to diffuse the situation. "Hi. Oh goodness. Look, I'm Cassie - this is Charles - and I'm so so sorry for - whatever this is. He was fine, and then I guess he saw you and now -" she gestured towards Charles' face, firmly fixated on the boy. "I don't even know what's going on!" Cassie's voice was a little pleading, even, as she tried to make sense of the situation. Then she saw that the boy's hand was on his wand. "Oh, gosh. Please don't hex me. Or Charlie, actually, although he kinda deserves it." She elbowed Charles in the side as she spoke his name. Then she realised that one of the other girls, the one dressed like Aphrodite, was still here. She winced. "Oh no. Are you his date? Do you know what's going on?" It wasn't like Cassie Heather to seem out of control, but this situation probably called for a little panic.

Amortentia In Effect
"You leave me senseless, my lavishing and bittersweet lord," Charles replied to Kazou remark about not touching but his words seems almost forced while he looked to be held sleep almost.
Charles heard Cassie's words but the potion wouldn't allow him to focus on them or concrete on them as it only continued to produce a obsessive with the raven haired boy.
Charles wasn't acting like himself and his facial emotions weren't his either, he held a blank stare and his eyelids were half closed as his voice was deeper than usual and his words sounded almost unnatural or not his.
"Apollo! You set fire to my heart that burns my soul," Charles spoke without any true emotions behind them as he took a step closer to Kazou, " your voice resembles honey, pleasant to the ear and sweet to the mind," there wasn't any thought behind his words and his vision was still blurry to all but Kazou. He could hear the rest of the ball and his friend; Cassie but the potion wouldn't let him focus on anything else or turn away from Kazou as the obsessive continued to grow the longer the potion was in effect.
Charles felt a elbow on his side but the potion didn't allow him to turn away from Kazou or focus his mind elsewhere or even try to tell his friend that he was under a love potion. So instead the blonde would feel himself saying if he didn't want to, even if it was the love potions doing. He would find himself speaking to Cassie, " to be hexed by a great god such as Apollo is a dream, isn't it Cassie?" The blonde didn't know what he was saying or that he was saying it as the love potion created words that seemed to spew from his mouth as he spoke only looking at Kazou and not taking his eyes off him, " that's a good joke, Cassie. Why would someone as superior and perfect like Apollo take a feeble mortal to the ball." Charles took steps forward to Kazou being prompted or told by the potions to do it, almost if the potion was controlling Charles.
"Apollo! You are like a flower after the rain, beautifully delicate and gracefully sitting at its spot," Charles spoke words that were told to him by the love potion and acted on a obsessive being forced into his mind by a potion that effects weren't gone yet, " Apollo! My Lord! You are above all else, you are a noble god and you deserve a world better than this one!" Charles would move closer to Kazou, the potion kept his vision blurry so he couldn't see Dealla or even his friend; Cassie that be currently would be grateful to have by his side if it wasn't for the potion.
Charles's kept his arms by his side and face blank from all emotions, eyelids partly closed as he for closer to Kazou staring at him or rather looking down at him. Refusing to take his eyes off the black haired raven boy who the love potion was telling him that he had a obsessive with and was filling his head with words that was being heard from his mouth.
"Your eyes sparkle like a raging fire and your presence is one that is bitter sweet but one can't be without," Charles spoke staring at Kazou refusing to take his eyes off of him as the potion continued to grow his obsessive for him, if only the effects could else off.
"You are Apollo! The superior god! The greatest moral there is present! A lord! I shall devote my soul to you and keep you away from all others who threatened to corrupt you," Charles spoke as he absentmindedly stepped between Dealla and Kazou with his eyes still staring at Kazou and mind still being controlled from the potion.

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
Intentions preserved for the time being, or so it seemed. Thomas had already revealed part of his hand, to pussy foot around the information he sought was not necessarily his style. What delayed him, what initiated his hesitance? Often direct and unapologetic with his inquiries. Could it be Flash was not as he expected, categorizing the Snape dorm as a horde of gossiping blockheads. Concluding this much after almost a full year of evening patrols in their dormitory.
No, it's wrong. Generalizing a group to all be the same was not his style. At times, we are victims of our environment. Flash may behave one way to maintain the status he desired amongst his dormmates, but how much did this reflect who he was? A one on one interaction should provide his enlightenment, to learn the methods of operation he is fixed on. Then, and only then, will Thomas successfully be able to initiate his confrontation.
There are two types of people in this world. When something comes along that we do not understand, there are those that seek the why. The hunger to understand. And then, there are those that simply don't. Complacent with their blindness. Though on each side, there are fools. As our understanding is limited, our perception is based on what we think we know. The reality of what is..., that's so much more. If only we could reach out and grasp it.
Thomas was the former, the mystery of Flash Holmwood and what makes him tick was not one to instantly meet the eye. It became the forefront of his investigation, additionally furthering his chances of success as he familiarized with his subject. And then there was alcohol, which Flash showed no aversion to. Thomas would motion with a dismissive hand if the boy attempted to return the flask. "Have as much as you want."
The topic transitioned to the character Thomas represented this evening, whether Flash knew it or not. Having no preference for him to understand, instead utilizing it as a passage to learn of Flash's mental state. "Yes, that one." Initially impressed the boy was familiar, perhaps sourced from a hunger in literary works, or a byproduct of religious-based cultural surroundings at home.
"The significance, I think. Is how far Dante was willing to go to find what he loves." Blue eyes traveled to the corners of his lids at his right, the entrance to the Spring Festival. "This way." He beckoned the boy to remain at his side, turning and passing through the entrance. "Dante, it's my costume." Returning to the topic hand, Thomas answered him deadpan, finding it comical that such little effort could be given and still refer to it as a costume.
Upon entrance into the Festival, it was a departure from the mundane. A charming pallet with warm colors, and all the typical dashing decorum that is to be expected for a Hogwarts event. Yet the air strained from conflict. Hogwarts students had a way of taking what was beautiful into their palm, squeezing every ounce they could extract and letting it fall lifelessly to the ground. Not that aesthetic mattered to Lestrange, who's presence here had one purpose. To find who he was looking for, Marion Davenport.
A ritual at this rate, the last two balls have seen Thomas convene with the cagey blonde. The first left him with the pleasant smell of pumpkin, and a dampened suit that would have been difficult to clean if not for magic. The second, a harsh outcry of her opposition to his presence. Ultimately leading to her best owl impression after leaping from Pierre's broom. It was only polite, to maintain the ritual and grace her with his presence once more. The company she kept presented a especial dynamic, and one the boy felt confident he could use to his advantage.
The company being Alexander Varellion, an opponent of Flash and Thomas' last summer in the Fight Club. A happening with both Victor and Vladimir present, Marion's absence still a mystery. As the pair of boys neared her, Thomas would suspend the conversation at hand. "Let's revisit this." He glanced over at Flash, a gentle nod in the girl's direction. "We're going to talk to Marion." He stated plainly, as if Flash was on a leash and all that was needed was a gentle tug to gain his compliance.
Though Thomas spoke as he did because he understood Flash would comply, if not for curiosity, a craving for drama. "I will admit, she does not like me. It may turn hostile." Thomas stopped in his tracks, putting a hand on Flash's shoulder as he turned to face the boy. "Whatever is said, be on her side. I know it's far too early to ask your trust..." Just trust me. The intensity in his blue eyes made it appear as a plead to simply go with it. The goal, while hidden, was something Thomas deemed to be of interest to Flash. Sourced from their initial introduction in the common room.
Thomas was accustomed to feigning. His mother's emphasis on theatrical arts from an early age helped engrain his capability to play a role, to be an actor. Of course, he was no expert. Though getting better, at least enough for the question: was this foreshadowed performance for Marion, or Flash? Regardless of whom, a dangerous game he would play. Still lacking care for who he pretends to be.
Thomas turned back towards the pairing of Alexander and Marion. If Flash showed any signs of reluctance to join him, he would place a hand around his arm to urge him along in a gentle fashion. Though if Flash, did not mind approaching this pair, Thomas' hand would remain at his side upon approach. "Good evening." A formal greeting, a respectful nod at both Alexander and Marion individually. He didn't have to say much, all the elements were in place for the reaction he craved.
"I think you two have met." Thomas motioned from Flash to Alexander with a self-satisfied grin. "Mary, this is Flash Holmwood. He wanted to formally meet you." Was that something about trust Thomas mentioned? Oh no, of course not. "Vladimir seems to be enjoying himself." Thomas remarked, eyes flickering over to the group surrounded by the typical bane of the ball. Most relevant was @Ruka Burnett-Tân, who appeared engaged in a conflict with the Ravenclaw. Rest assured, the flame wielder could handle himself for now.

Interacts with: @Marion Davenport, @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood, @Thomas Lestrange (sorta) @Flash HolmwoodStanding amongst the bliss of Spring Alexander could not help but start enjoying the evening. Though it had started somewhat..... chaotically with Vladimir's exclamation things were starting to look up. He could not help but feel a soft smile on his face whenever he looked at Marion.
(Based on Claude from Fire emblem, edited by Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood)
For a moment, he was distracted though. He heard some faint mumbling behind him and saw what seemed to be some kind of dark-looking figure. One who seemed to be clad in a martial costume. It seemed like the figure was going for some kind of greek hoplite armour. He couldn't make much out due to the helmet and ash that covered their face. For a moment Alexander frowned in the direction of the figure. He tried to recall what they had been saying but he didn't catch them whilst his focus had been on Marion.
What should he do? Talk to them and engage in a conversation ? Nah that probably wasn't a good idea. He was with a date, and in a way, he still had his 'task' of getting information from Marion. The figure also probably just mistook him for someone else, or he had just misheard something. So instead of verbally responding Alexander just sent a nod in the figure's direction before his gaze and posture shifted back to Marion. He had an important task, he could not let himself or Aida down. So he shouldn't get distracted. In any case, his attention was quickly drawn back to Marion when she responded to his comment.
"And Circe would turn sailors into pigs, neither were a splendid idea,"
Alexander could not help a small chuckle escaping from his lips. Though it was not something he tried to resist in the first place.
"Well the Greeks, and some of our classmates, are quite vain. Though at the very least we can say this is not as bad as some of the shenanigans of Zeus." As he spoke, Alexander could not help but admire Marion's wit. He himself mostly knew the basics of Greek stories, but it didn't surprise him that Marion knew some of the more obscure ones. She seemed to enjoy most kinds of fantasy and legends. Perhaps due to the very fantastical nature of Hogwarts itself.
Then the interesting response to his own query came.
"No, he is just Vlad's younger, annoying cousin."
Alexander's eyebrows were raised and a slightly surprised look on his face. He then looked once more at Pride before shifting his face towards Vlad. Comparing the facial structures of the two. He could somewhat see the similarity, especially in the facial structure. But if you didn't know that the two were relatives it was hard to spot.
"Huh, the more you know."
"Do you know how to dance?"
Alexander shrugged. "I mean not formally, but I can at least go along with the beat."
" Just feel the tempo. That is the sound that you find yourself tapping your fingers to in a car, nodding your head or tapping your toe." Alexander would nod in affirmation. It was just the rhythm, like playing with an instrument. Every song had one, most commonly a 4/4 structure. But often it differed a bit, some would be a 3/4 structure, or 6/8 if you wanted to go faster. The thought itself brought him memories of playing the cello in the past, he had loved playing it. When was the last time he played it? He remembered playing it at home before going to Hogwarts, but after that, it was just a blank. He had kept the cello at his parent's house back then, but after moving back in with them he could not remember his cello stored anywhere. Though he hadn't thought much of the thing, the awkward situation with his family often taking precedence.
Shaking himself out of the stupor Alexander nodded once more, his smile slightly less true as he was distracted. "It's just going along with the rhythm. I used to play an instrument so I know what it is like."
Alexander then watched attentively as Marion gave her tutorial. He did not interrupt her, he followed her instructions and watched her movement closely. Trying to mimic them after he saw them occur. One interesting tidbit was snapping your fingers in order to get your arms in the proper position. Individually all the movements went well enough, copying them after a few moments of copying her movements. Noting his own errors and continuing to mimic Marion.
Alex certainly didn't have the fluidity that Marion had, but he could at least copy her to such a degree so as to not look terrible. The harder part was to coordinate all the different movements together. Making sure they all occurred at the same time and worked together smoothly. That was quite a bit harder. He struggled with the coordination between multiple limbs for a moment. A frown appeared on his face as his entire concentration shifted to properly doing the moves. Softly he murmured to himself. "Come on" A thought suddenly entered Alexander's head, he gave a small nod before following it. He just closed his eyes. Seeing nothing began tapping his foot and went along with the beat, following his instinct. Having nothing to focus on but the movement of his body. Then he opened his eyes once more as he felt himself move smoothly in a good approximation of the movement that Marion had given. Of course, his lack of experience prevented him from doing it at the same level, but it felt good. Felt nice.
Again Alexander muttered to himself. "Mhm, not bad. At least not terrible." He then looked back at Marion's face and give a slight wink.
Then he began to dance once more. This time trying not to think about it, except when he made the occasional error which he quickly tried to correct. Though those were relatively rare.
"This is a better place to talk anyways," Alexander thought the statement over for a moment, before nodding in agreement. "Yeah, the music does make it somewhat harder to hear each other but it prevents anyone from trying to eavesdrop."
"Unless you like talking before a live audience." Alexander only grinned. "Mhm, yeah I do prefer some privacy. Then you can just talk, and let the words flow out. Rather than having to consider every word." Ironically, this was both the truth and a lie. He did feel how the words just slipped out of his mind as soon as he thought them with Marion. There was not the reluctance/thought he initially felt. Yet this specific statement was something he had thought out. It could perhaps make Marion feel guilt, or more likely to perhaps tell some important information.
For a moment Alexander just enjoyed the music and being near Marion. Just taking in her smooth movements and thinking it was almost hypnotic. He could just watch it for hours. And for just a few second, there was just the now. The moment of pure contentment.
Then Alexander was dragged out of the moment as an Audience did in fact appear. Specifically in the form of Thomas Lestrange and Flash Holmwood.
He had not interacted with the former before. Though he had heard of him and seen him during the Trial that he had participated in along with Aida. He was a somewhat enigmatic figure, mysterious and apparently had some intimate knowledge about hags. What based on the Headliner article and the way he had presented the Trials. He was also a Slytherin prefect and thus had some measure of influence and authority. Someone to keep a cautious eye on.
Flash Holmwood was a figure he knew better. He had fought him in the Fight Club back when his own mind was more chaotic and in shambles. Making use of his diplomacy to surprise him in the fight. Though he was knocked unconscious in the end. Then they had met up again during Slytherin house's exploration of the dungeons, finding a secret message and then following it. So he knew him better than Lestrange, but he still didn't truly know him or his intentions.
Alexander then responded to Thomas's own introduction of "Good evening.". "Good evening to you too Mr. Lestrange." As he greeted Thomas Alexander mostly gave him a cold and wary stare.
"I think you two have met." Alexander gave a short and curt nod. "We have talked with each other before on occasion." Behind his blank face Alexander felt some frustration rising at Lestrange's grin. He seemed to be quite confident in himself to say the least. As if things were going precisely as he wanted them to go. It made Alex wary, made him wonder if there was perhaps some larger plan that the (probably) pureblood had in mind.
"Mary, this is Flash Holmwood. He wanted to formally meet you." This truly made Alexander frown and wary. Marion himself had told him to call her Mary, because she considered him a friend. He did not know the relationship between Lestrange and Marion but he had not seen him interact with her before. Were they friends in the past? Was it a coincidence? Or had Lestrange heard the term before when Marion and Vlad were talking? Then to make things worse the next sentence quickly followed.
"Vladimir seems to be enjoying himself." What was Lestrange's game here? Was he trying to fish more information out of Marion in regards to Vladimir? If he did it was through a somewhat crude method. At the very least Alexander could say that his own method was somewhat more sophisticated. Though it was far more byzantine and convoluted.
The main question was how he was going to shift the conversation to his own terms. Rather than have this continue on whatever grounds Lestrange had planned. For now, Alexander merely moved a single step forward. Just so that he could cover Marion if it was necessary. But for now, Alexander remained at Marion's side. He kept a cold smile directed at Lestrange whilst observing Marion and Holmwood.
If he was to contend in a battle of wits to protect Marion if necessary, he first had to know the combatants and different factors in it. Only then could he make his strike. As it was often said, 'knowledge is power, guard it well.'

Samantha liked the Spring Festival way more than she had liked the underworld. The first thing that caught Samantha's eye where the long tables full with food. Maybe she could get something to eat after she had talked and danced a bit. Luckily for the muggle-born most, if not all, music was muggle music. She knew most of the songs and liked them to.
Samantha looked back at her friend, who had joined her in the Spring Festival. "I like this way more than the underworld." The young girl had decided not talk about what had happend in the underworld with Vivian anymore. Vivian didn't seem herself, and if Samantha had acted so weird she would have wanted that nobody talked about it ever again.
"What do you want to do?" The brunette smiled, she had no idea what she wanted to do. She had never been to many parties, so had no idea what you normally did. She hoped Vivian maybe had an idea of what they could do.
Samantha took a look at her friend. Before she had not really looked at her outfit, Samantha was to embarrassed by her friend to compliment her. Her friend was wearing a long white dress with pink flowers and had her hair up. "And I forgot to say this, but I love your outfit! You look amazing!"
The young raven took a moment to look around. She didn't know many people, which gave her a change to meet many new people. She saw that some were already dancing, a girl (Haley Rose) was dancing with a boy in a green suit. Samantha remembered that Simon, her quill pall, had mentions in one of his letters that he would be wearing a green suit.
She hadn't seen many other boys wear a green suit, so that must be Simon. He had told her not to be shy to say hello and he would save a dance for her. Even though Samantha would love to get to know Simon better, it seemed like he was having lots of fun with his girlfriend. Samantha decided that she would wait and go talk to him later on the evening, since the night had just begon.ReducioAction: Entering Spring Festival

Though Flash was watching Thomas' expression carefully, it didn't betray much about his feelings. It wasn't a stone cold visage of indifference, yet there weren't any obvious tells towards a sinister agenda. If anything, he seemed fairly confident, which could be seen as suspicious. As far as Flash knew, Thomas had nothing on him, no power he could exert that Flash couldn't turn around. That was part of Flash's power, that he was clean, as far as anyone could tell from his manner and reputation. The truth would show how little polish he had, but he had been sure to strangle that truth into silence.
When Thomas offered the rest of the flask to him, he took the hint. Numbing was one way of dealing with his problems, but tonight wasn't a problem so far. He'd pass the flask back, already having enough of a head buzz to make him feel a bit silly. "I appreciate the offer." No matter the kind of threat he thought Thomas could pose, he'd be no use to anyone passed out or tripping over his own feet. If he wasn't useful, then what was he?
Flash's brow would jump to hear Thomas describe Dante as inspiring his outfit. Hardly Greek to be inspired by an Italian author's depiction of Christian hell, but it wasn't as though Flash was working hard to fit the theme himself. More than that, his reasoning was interesting. Flash couldn't pretend to know what Dante loved so much, or even really know what all he went through. For all he knew, Thomas was just depicting himself in such a light to write a narrative for Flash to follow. That's what Flash did when he talked, it was an extremely useful tactic. Relate oneself to protagonists and heroes, relate your opposition to evil and tyranny. There was still too little information to know for sure if that was his intention.
"Mmm, maybe I'll add it to my summer reading list." Flash said, with a lilt of interest in an otherwise monotone response. "What is it you'll go through hell for?"
Regardless of whether Thomas graced him with a response, he'd follow behind him diligently as he traversed to the second area of the ball. While he preferred the quiet, low-lit Underworld, Thomas was his date, and he'd not corral him without good reason. He did show up, after all, offering an interesting night when he might otherwise have spent the time alone, wallowing in self pity. He would only put his foot down if he felt there was a real reason to.
It was certainly less quiet and peaceful there, Flash's attention was instantly drawn to the conflict that had wands out and shouting from all sides. The Burnetts, as well as Erin, Mattias, Vlad, Santario, Quinn and Opeila were huddled together in a hysteric mess. His eyes flitted from one person to the next, trying to get a grasp on what was going on, but the analysis would be cut short when Thomas turned back to face him, addressing him with a hand on the shoulder. Flash would be thrown off, the fact that there were friends of his nearby entrenched in strife consuming part his already pickled attention. Talk to Marion? Marion Davenport?
Looking in the direction Thomas had alluded to with a flick of his eyes, Marion and Vareillion were engaged. He would never think of speaking to the girl, he wasn't prepared to. In fact, despite being in the same house and knowing far, far too much about her personal life, Flash had never spoken to her. He rarely spoke directly with people unless he had something he wanted to say, or a specific reason to make their acquaintance. Flash's smile was gone. "What?"
Flash's confusion unimportant, Thomas warned of the likely retaliation they'd face, and a ploy he was hurriedly foisting upon him. Flash was first lightly perturbed, then grumpy. He didn't trust Thomas in the slightest, had presumed he had given him no reason to think that he would, yet this precious resource was being called upon. Despite the vexed face he'd be showing, another part of him deeply desired to know why he was being employed in this way. Unbeknownst to him, his own curiosity was a fairly easy target that flew over the parapets of his defenses like a hapless pigeon strapped with a bomb.
"Honestly... d-do you really..." Flash fought to formulate some semblance of a protest with a hissing whisper, yet was easily pulled along when a hand wrapped around his arm.
Before another word could be uttered, they were upon the pair, Flash reflexively fixing his posture and countenance. Thomas introduced himself, an unhappy Varellion clearly unaccommodating and on edge. An outright lie, a diversion to Vladimir whose wand was drawn. Flash's displeasure would show in a frown, frustrated that he would indeed be doing just as his date wanted.
"Don't listen to this ape." Flash would quickly interject, before an association could be made between them. "I have no intention of disturbing your evening, Miss Marion."
Flash would shoot a glare at Thomas, his head swimming with the quick motion and alcohol combined. A headache was forming. Looking back, Varellion had stepped forward like a chivalrous knight protecting his maiden. This had better not become violent... again.
"He's certainly only trying to provoke you, best to ignore him completely."
Flash rubbed his eyes in an attempt to relieve some tension. He was feeling annoyed, light-headed, having trouble focusing on just one person, distracted. He probably should have brought back-up.

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
Meenauh was looking down her dress in content. She was accepting Xailah's compliments with graceful nods and appreciation. Xailah's appreciation mattered, especially in the matters of fashion or not fashion in its usual sense, but the style and compatibility.Interacting with @Xailah Alptraum
"No, no Greece," she smiled, "I didn't feel like I'd like to participate in the masquerade, but just to appreciate the Spring."
Greek characters were not much different in their choice of clothes. Most of the attire would have to be open enough and Meenauh didn't feel comfortable presenting parts of her body in the open for the sake of resemblance to a certain period in history.
Meenauh's inquiry about the sweet Erin girl was provided with a short and precise answer, and indeed, it wasn't anything suspicious, considering they both knew who or what Erin was. Of course, they also knew there was something inside Erin. The same something that was inside Vlad, apparently. Or whoever that was now.
But as soon as Xailah finished her explanation about the young Athanatos and asked Meenauh about her real intentions, Erin launched herself somewhere and Meenauh heard the incantations thrown. Nothing stopped Erin and in a moment she rocketed a poor boy with the punch table as a casualty.
Meenauh smiled. As if, yes, the ball was turning tables towards what they are usually are. At least, it was still innocent. No real danger, no intervention of the unknowns sources of evil. Just Evil Ryan. Oh, I mean Erin, of course, so sorry.
The Erin situation (by this time any ball was involving the Erin situation if you really try to remember) attracted more people and started to be a thing now. Someone was trying to attack her, someone tried to protect, someone tried to stop the mess and regulate the chaos. At least that was her brief analysis.
The 'Vlad' boy was now using his wand, not fists (because he was picking targets wisely — punch those who won't be able to punch back, and cast at those who are not able to use their wand properly). Her eyes were quickly jumping from one person to another, trying to analyse their behaviour and combine everything into a single puzzle.
If Xailah would start moving or acting, Meenauh would put her hand before her chest gently stopping her: "No," — something one maybe wouldn't expect from Meenauh. Yes, Meenauh, ready to act, trying to save everyone, because otherwise there would be no point in anything if not everyone is saved, "Let's not," she would add. She was proposing to stay where they were as observers, as guests, like a lot of people there were. They always had to act, they always had to do something and maybe even get hurt in the process. There had to be another beneficial strategy. It was not about winning, it was about taking weighted decisions. And while there was no real danger yet, she really, like genuinely, wanted to dance and enjoy the evening.
The comprehensive study of the surroundings resulted in an observation: two people had entered the scene and confidently approached a pair of unknown students. To chat? Whatever. Meenauh smiled as they were probably some really decent gentlemen that wouldn't refuse a dance invitation from a good and nice girl.

It was almost pleasant, there was music and there was movement. There was no drama, no tossed drinks, no...Marion Davenport
Interacts with: @Alexander Varellion, @Flash Holmwood & @Thomas LeStrage
Mention: @Vladimir Athanatos, @Mathias Pride, anyone else involved in the brawl.
A spell slung, the end of the temporary peace. It was only a matter of time, she just presumed she would have more of it before chaos took the reigns. Not that she was going to intervene, she was not supposed to go anywhere near them. Not that such a request was easy when --
Oh yeah, there it was, the spells and gaze of those involved in the brawl would turn to Vladimir. It always done, the 'devil' in the eyes of his peers. It really did not matter what other threats were going on, how vital it was that they pay attention when there was a lightning rod for their discontent. Utterly predictable, if she knew it then Vladimir certainly knew it as well. The heck was he playing at?
No, there was music. There was a boy. There was this space that remained unoccupied. There was a festering situation that was bubbling over. Yes, she was tense. Her eyes darted to the fray and back at Alexander. A sense of division. A want to intervene, not that she was certain who started it, only that her friend was about to get his backside kicked. One would think she should have greater faith in the pure-blood, he had demonstrated his prowess time and time again. Indominable. Indestructible. At least that was what he let them believe, not that he was dying. That he was a fool and that his time was coming to an end because nobody would make the same deal for him.
Dance. Ignore. Adhere and comply. Break the shackles of perdition. A step, a sway, a smile. A lie she half-believed. This could be fun. They could have fun.
"Good evening."
No, that train came to a screeching halt with a single greeting from the resident slug, Thomas LeStrange. The visceral reaction was natural, the unsettled stomach, the taste of bile on the back of her tongue. She and Thomas had history, every meeting she had with the worm was unpleasant.
"Good evening to you too Mr. Lestrange."
Apparently they knew each other, of course they did. She took an unconscious step away from Alex. Thomas was basically a parasite, draining vitality from others, from this dance, from this evening. An accusing glance, a guy like this is who Vlad should have been warning her about. Comparatively Alex was a peach, soft and fuzzy and sweet. Sure, she remembered a bit from the time before, not that she would ever bring it up. He forgot and why would she torture him by making him remember.
"I think you two have met."
Her dance came to a halt. Who, Thomas' friend? The stink eye she gave Thomas was extended to Flash as her hips stopped swaying and her hands would plant on her hips.
"We have talked with each other before on occasion."
How. Who. Why? Hag boy's friend is friends with Alex. Nope. Nope. Nope! Yes, she knew what Thomas was. The water he came from, the water he was drawn to. She was a hypocrite but she did not care. They did not change them, they were exceptional exceptions. The roach might have always been an arse, but he was dangerous and honestly she really disliked his face. It was the sort of face that begs to be punched but she did not know how to make a fist. It might be worth learning, but she was an expert in something else.
"Mary,"
"Marion" she corrected him with an abrasive tone.
"This is Flash Holmwood. He wanted to formally meet you."
"Well, I don't want to formally meet him," she replied. He really needed to take a long walk off a short pier into the lake.
"Vladimir seems to be enjoying himself."
A prod, a reminder. A source of anxiety, agitation. She might not know how to beat Thomas senseless, but she she could throw a drink like a champ. Yes, her go to was a damn cliché. Like he was wearing the same dress as her, looking at a prettier girl, requesting an illicit favor.
"Don't listen to this ape."
Marion would freeze. No drink just yet, her lower jaw would quiver.
"I have no intention of disturbing your evening, Miss Marion."
"Then why must he?" She pointed at Thomas. "Why must they?" Her voice came out in an almost whine, she was referring to Vladimir and Mathias' ongoing brawl.
"He's certainly only trying to provoke you, best to ignore him completely."
"I keep trying," she complained. "Make him leave." Thomas was actually not wrong, he was an antagonist not a confidant. His role was to stir the pot, not pour the porridge. He was making an opening for Flash by being his deplorable self. Flash appeared amendable, helpful and allied within seconds of meeting. He also might have caught onto one of Marion's other characteristics. In fact, he was likely banking on it..

Although, I would not mind meeting your brother." In Milo's defense, he didn't know that Arjan would probably be able to beat the crap out of him, he knew that he was pretty strong himself, causing him to be a little cocky in the situation.
This area of the ball was a lot lighter, immediately he could see that his date was a lot calmer. He wanted to question why an almost-fifteen year old would be scared of, well it was either her brother or the setting of the ball, but she felt like it may be a touchy subject and it wouldn't be wise to ask about it, or he may risk upsetting her. He somewhat preferred this area anyway, seemed calmer, happier, the music immediately bringing a much lighter tone to the area.
Upon reaching the drinks and watching serena take one and ask him if he wanted the same, he nodded, "I will get one.", he did as he said he would, taking a drink from the closest drink to him, they were all very colourful and bright, very interesting, as he took a drink, it tasted like nothing he had ever tasted before, he wasn't entirely sure if he liked it, but he didn't dislike it.

Blossom Ball - Spring Festival
Banner by Winnie Harper
Everything had seemed to descend into chaos within the blink of an eye. Jack was relieved that his spell hadn't been necessary, but as he tried to make sense of what else had resulted in the aftermath, he felt someone grab his wand from his grasp.
"HEY!"
It was Matt. Of course it was Matt. His eyes darted between his dorm mate on the run and the one trapped under Erin as he tried to figure out what to do next. Out the corner of his eye, he noticed Ruka had involved himself in the fray as well, going after Vladimir even after the eagle fired off yet another spell.
"Ruka, no!" he yelled when he saw his brother step up to meet the spell. Had everyone gone mad? Why couldn't he have just used a counter spell or something? Had he figured there was no time? Had one of those drinks messed with his head somehow? Or was he, perhaps, trying to show Jack how foolish he was by doing what the Slytherin had done in the past?
Whatever the case, Jack cursed under his breath but was briefly distracted by Winnie before he had time to do anything else. She passed him the wand that Mathias had taken and he accepted it with a hesitant, "Thank you," unsure exactly what she had done to the thief in order to get him to give it back.
"I guess the clock is striking midnight. I'm sorry I couldn't be a graceful flower nymph for you," she told the confused boy with a smile. Then, before he could ask what she meant, she promptly took a few steps back in order to get a running start in tackling Mathias. It was almost the same as what Erin had just done to Percival except unlike Percival, Jack thought Mathias deserved it. The Welsh boy whistled softly, finding himself impressed at Winnie's spunk. He cheered her on silently in his head, fighting back a smile before yet something else caught his eye out of the corner of his peripheral vision.
Percival, much to Jack's pleasant surprise, was warning anyone against firing more spells at Erin despite having been the victim of her attack. Once again, Jack found himself impressed. But the movement that had caught his attention was Quinn was picking up Erin off Percival, and none too gently, either. He frowned, not liking the sight, but was concerned about more pressing matters just then. Hurrying toward Ruka, Jack attempted to catch the older boy or at least cushion his body from a fall if Vlad's Knockback Jinx managed to hit its mark.
