Colin was actually surprised that Taizu said anything at all! What a bizarre question! Clearly Bailey said exactly what she meant to say! Colin couldn't help but shrug his shoulders, trying to suppress a laugh. And then he asked what they were talking about again. Ah! thought Colin --- Too much distracted thinking. That explains a lot.

"Ah, laddie! You and me and Kim have just been befriended by Miss Sunshine and Flowers herself! Though I suspect there's rather more to Bailey than a friendly smile ... Taizu, that kind of magic is rare, and I don't think we can ever get out of it now! And bland? Yer a wizard, Taizu! Wizards can't be bland! Stands to reason. There's always something hidden to make a body interesting, right?"

He thought back to the rest of the conversation."Oh! We're off onto an adventure now! Maybe --- we can throw you into the lake, Taizu! They say there's a giant squid in there that eats people! I think that's bullocks. I'd like to meet this squid --- sounds like he'd be grand fun to swim with! And then we're off for a picnic lunch. What do you like to eat?" He glanced slyly over towards Kim and his rustling pockets. "I know what one of you might like to eat! I suppose we should get lunch packed, right Bailey?" He looked across to his new friend to make sure that's what the plan was.

The moment Bailey said triple chocolate scones, Kim was hooked on her.

He unconsciously licked his lips.

"Mm." Kim replied to Bailey's suggestion that the two of them cook sometime together in the future. "That would be nice." He said, finding her more interesting already and thought about locations he wouldn't mind going to. Kim kind of liked exploring, so he would pretty much be good with any of them. Well, as long as they didn't involve heights. As Bailey talked about lunch, Kim could feel that his stomach definitely wanted some food and soon.

"Lots of things. I'm not too particular about food, I'll eat just about anything and everything you put in front of me!" It was true. Yes, he had some preferences but really he liked sampling all types of food to get a better understanding when it came to creating new dishes. Or making those he'd tried before. "The only thing I don't really care for is fake grape flavor. That got me sick once, so I tend to avoid it whenever I can." He said.

Colin's earlier slip-up made Kim smirk.

So he was that kind of person? He and Colin would get along well later on.

As Colin seemed to get things together for their little outing with Bailey, Kim looked back down at Taizu. He seemed nervous but at least the boy was trying to talk, which was a good thing and Kim regarded him for a few seconds. "You want to come too, Taizu?" Kim asked, wondering if the boy would accept Colin and Bailey's invitation for a fun picnic lunch.

He looked back over at Colin and Bailey.

"Taizu likes Japanese food the best, so grab some of that if you see any on the tables. But I think he didn't mind the shepherd's pie too. I'm good with whatever, as long as you bring me some of those triple chocolate scones, Bailey." Kim said with what hopefully was a smile. This would be a nice change of pace for him. He hadn't spent much time outside and eating outside with others wasn't a bad idea. It was also a small group, so his social anxiety probably wouldn't kick in anytime soon for him.

As long as no one else joined them.

Kim isn’t particular about food, Taizu likes Japanese food, and Colin sounds excited about food in general. Ok- I can work off of this.
Getting up, Bailey said “Ok! Let’s go the dining hall then. Lunch probably just started so i am willing to bet there is food we can get. And should I get a picnic blanket? I have one in my dorm. I can go get it if y’all want!”
As they walked out towards the Great hall, Bailey decided to ask a random question.
She asked “So… sorry if this is too personal, but how are you guys finding Hogwarts? Is it all you expected? And are you happy with the houses you were sorted into? I know a few people don’t like the houses they were sorted into. There are a few Ravenclaws that are not happy they are in Ravenclaw.”
As the walked into the Great Hall, Bailey instantly walked over to the Ravenclaw table and pulled out her containers.
To her new friends she said “If you see something you want, grab a container and pack it in. I am really open to eating anything, and I am more than willing to try something new!”

Taizu was still nervous, but his nervousness left was starting to erode, being replaced by a feeling of excitement. And hunger. His stomach rumbled as the rest began to talk of having a picnic, and Taizu spoke up for the first time without being prompted. "Some of the house elves were kind enough to start making some traditional Japanese food, so I could bring some of that with me if you don't mind." Already, he was adjusting to being around the people, and he had spoken without a stutter. Truly, these people were good for him in a way that he hadn't expected.

Grabbing his satchel, Taizu said, "I'll run down to the kitchen to grab some of the food. I can likely get us some food of some kind." He ran out of the library to go to the kitchen, requesting some traditional Japanese food to bring out with him to the picnic, along with some traditional chopsticks. Almost immediately, the food had been brought to him, and he thanked them for their kindness, bowing and leaving to head to the lake with his new friends, not realizing that he had not shown such interest in new people in his entire life.

Time literally passed by quickly when interacting with others.

It had only been close to 9AM when he'd first entered the library with Taizu in tow.

Almost three hours had passed by and Kim couldn't believe it. Could they really have been talking for that long? It was nuts to think about how time was relative but seemed to slow down or speed up at times. A sigh escaped his lips as this particular thought process only served to remind him about Transfiguration. He didn't want to deal with that subject right now. As Bailey asked if she should get her picnic basket from her dorm, Kim nodded at her.

"Sure." It made sense since Bailey had been the one to suggest this.

And if she had one already at her dorm, why not make use of it? Kim walked out behind the small group, not wanting to be too close to other people. But Bailey glanced back over her shoulder and asked him a question. One she actually seemed to want to know the answer to.

"I personally wanted to get into Ravenclaw. But my parents wanted me to get into Slytherin or Gryffindor. If I had to pick between the two, I'd have picked Slytherin." Kim said, not giving out a reason as to why he'd choose that House over the others. "What about you, Bailey?" He asked, letting his eyes flicker over her for a moment. They reached the Great Hall and Kim glanced all around at the food on the tables.

Hm, what to pick.

Kim took a container from Bailey and scooped a bunch of shepherd's pie into one.

Steak and potatoes went into another one, along with a variety of vegetables too. A third one encompassed some delicious chicken curry and a fourth container was filled with meat skewers and empanadas. The last container he stacked with a variety of pastries and also some custard tarts. Kim handed the containers over to Bailey and then tilted his head to the side to ease out some kinks that had built up inside his neck. Ah, yes, that felt a lot better.

"See you at the Great Lake in fifteen minutes." Kim said and headed out of the hall.
