“Thanks Alan.”Piérre smiled at his friend as he was helped back onto the familiar polished slate silver grain of his Moontrimmer. That last hit had been far from kind, and the kid could feel it all offer his body just as well as the tripping guilt that he had actually hurt someone in this dangerous endeavor.

Regardless, he would not be able to hurt anyone while on penalty lap, which he did have to take despite the tumble and the restoration of his seating on his broom. He would have to be careful now. Even the slightest brush would result in his second fall. And that... that would be no fun at all.

Alan would go on to safely deliver the other boy to his own broom, so that they could continue the game more efficiently. The fourth year was sure that the two of them would have made a great duo as well, like the last time they had shared a broom but he also knew that this game would need each and every one of them on their own broom if they could afford it. "Try not to fall off again, good luck!" he gave the Gryffindor boy, @Piérre Marchonné another nod, before he shifted his weight more comfortably, readying himself.

Stanley felt tears forming in his eyes. Everything was in utter chaos. The boy had sighed happily at the sight of three more goals being scored for Hufflepuff but once again sucked in air when the same player falling from their broom only to be caught by a teammate. He looked along the benches and noted he was the only second string player left. His lip trembled slightly and whipped his head back towards the pitch forcing back before his emotions could take a hold of him more than they already had. They had the potential to win the whole season but it was a stretch. It was all or nothing now.

The game was getting more and more intense the longer it went on and Kyle was getting more and more anxious. He had lost his first season on the quidditch team, and having his second be a crushing victory would be just the fire he needed to keep imrpoving his game, even if he only played half a one game this season. They were passed the hard part, alot of damage had been done. now they just needed to catch the snitch! He roared out cheers as he now stood, too anxious to sit and watch the game.

And they were still losing! Sitting back so that she wasn't on the edge of the bench anymore, about to fall off, Gia frowned at all the players she could see. She was competitive for sure, and yeah, frowning wouldn't help, but still! She didn't like to lose. Spotting the golden snitch hovering right next to the Hufflepuff seeker, the first year gripped the edge of her seat tightly. "GRYFFINDOR, WE CAN DO THIS!" she yelled, trying to encourage the players as much as she could.

Despite the staggeringly accurate aim of their beaters and sharp reflexes of the offensive line, it was becoming increasingly evident that the Huffles were turning what should be their indisputable game on top of them. “Dammit,” the Captain remarked aloud, his brown eyes chasing the progression of the Quaffle as it soared through their very own goalposts. The Lions had to step up their game – and fast, if Ethen’s advances on the snitch were anything to go by.

Rafael sighed, trying to dismiss his headache to no avail. It was only a matter of time before shit hit the fan. The Captain suspected chaos sooner rather than later.

Abilities:
INTERCEPTION
When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This put the quaffle in your and by extension you teams' possession.

Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.

CATCH
Able to catch two falling players on your broom when playing Quidditch. These additional caught players would be brought to the ground safely and they would be allowed to retrieve their broom and enter play again the next round. This can be done every round as the player's action if they choose to do so.

With brooms that have the feature where an additional player may be caught (such as Bluebottle) where there is a stackable chance of failure with each additional person caught, there is no stacking failure chance for players with this ability.

One goal, two goals, three goals - she watched Howard scored three times in a row, flying in a heroic way she had seldom seen. Alright, alright, and they were close to a win now - if Ethen could close the game by catching the snitch, and Howard plus Annie scoring a few more times, they could even defeat Slytherin’s win on Saturday.

“That’s fantastic, Howard!” she yelled at him, with all sincere. Two bludgers hit their honorable chaser. To Lindsey’s relief, Annie caught him in time, and the two were co-riding now - ah, what’s that storming towards Ethen?

Striking the iron ball true, she sent it away like she did last time. But, oh dear, it was - being sent back straight towards her friend Scarlett, and what’s more, it hit. Watching the iron ball nearly knocking her lioness friend off her broom, she yelled towards the redhead apologetically - “Scarlett! I’m so sorry!” not very sure if Scarlett had heard, she soon caught up with Ethen again, closely watching if there’s any possible harms - thankfully, no more.

They still stood a chance. And what they had to do now was to keep trying.

Grabbing another two quaffles, @Howard White would continue to dominate the skies from. Even from the back of @Annie Morgan's quidditch shuttle service. Unseen, unheard, or perhaps just an underestimated underdog, @Alan Vanes would whizz in behind the domineering dhampir and his taxi to quash their quaffle quest without quarter. The final goal this round would his to shoot and score.

Keepers

Finally committed to finishing his penalty lap, @Piérre Marchonné would have to watch from the sidelines as Howard and Annie zipped towards the goal posts with competitive intent. Two sinking shots later, Hufflepuff could mark scoring a hundred points in quaffles in a single game off of their bucket list if they wanted. Alan would find it that much easier to score with Piérre nearby, tossing a quaffle through the undefended hoops like a champion. A champion in their team's time of need.

Beaters

Ever ready to beat the brakes off of the enemy, @Scarlett Aden would pull a DJ Khaled, and fire off another one. Another bludger that was. A backbeat from her club would send the thing screaming at @Ethen Emrys. As it bounced from his now battered form, it would ricochet towards Annie and Howard. Whether it was Annie's skill, Howard's sight, or a miracle in the form of solid teamwork, the pair would evade the rebound as it skimmed through the brush of the broom they shared.

A captain's job was to go down with the ship, or so many mariners had said before. It would just so happen that as @Rafael D'Spacito sailed through the sky above the pitch, he would set his heading towards the hufflepuff seeker. Fully prepared to ram the kid out of his waters, the crowd would gain a laser like focus as he approached the velocity required. There would be a brief moment of realization or flummox as Emrys's yaw brought his broom to an angle the Gryffindor captain's advance could not transfer into. As he sailed past the battered seeker, the Hufflepuff crowd would boo for him and cheer for Ethen.

Before the cheering could end however, @Griseldis Edelhardt would give it her best. Either ignorant of the crowd's cheering, or that much more bothered by it, she would take her time lining up the perfect shot. The ring of her club as it struck the bludger would be the last thing Ethen heard before he was sent tumbling from his post. @Lindsey Springhall, likely recovering from the pain and attempting to regain her focus, or dazed and confused from the raucous jeering from the stands would miss her chance to save Ethen. Just like that, the roles of the sections were reversed, the Gryffindor stands suddenly bursting with pride as the Huffles were left speechless.

Seekers

Practically attached at the hip, @Anastasia Beckett and @Evelynn Decipio finally caught a glimpse of peace. A moment where the momentum of their team seemed headed for their favor. This momentum presented them with an opportunity. Wasting little time, the two set their eyes on the horizon seeking the snitch in unison. It was not long before Evelynn would spot the energetic bead, zooming just in front of Ethen. His fall from the sky would mark a second opportunity. One with the potential to seal the fate of the game.

Howard held firmly to Annie's shoulder as he regained his breath, but rest would have to wait as they made their way back into battle. While she focused on flying he would use his acute senses to grab the Quaffle and score. The first two attempts would go down flawlessly as they had before, but perhaps he let his guard too far down as Alan swooped in to grab the third. "Alan! Ya cheeky bastard!" Although his competitive nature drove him to swearing there would be no malice in his tone as he called after his friend. If anything he was impressed with his play, only a bit sore to be beaten. None of that would matter as he scanned the pitch. His heart would drop as team Gryffindor zeroed in on Ethen. One bludger would strike, a fortunate miss from the blatch, but the second bludger would prove to be too much. Howard's heart would drop as Ethen fell to the ground. Things had gone from bad to worse for team Hufflepuff, but there was nothing to do but fight it out to the end. At least they had Stanley to step in and give them a chance. "Get after it Stan!" He bellowed his encouragement and sent a silent prayer to the Quidditch gods.

INTERACTING WITH @Anastasia Beckett | MENTIONING n/a
The chime of another goal echoed dully across the pitch, it's thrill dampened by the onslaught of rain. A snap of her head in the direction of the scoreboard and the squinting of a hopeful gaze was quickly met with disappointment. Shoulders hung in despair. Hufflepuff had gained another goal. 10 points. They now counted 90. Was there no end to tehri charge? Was there any way that they could stop their successive mounting of points? There was one, but it rested on her shoulders to spearhead it. Evelynn tried to swallow down the lump in her throat, to quell the rising worry.

In desperation, her eyes scanned the pitch, searching for the slightest hint of the snitch. If she could only catch it, they would be saved. They would jump ahead of Slytherin in points and secure the current game in one fell swoop. But that was a big if. Not even Emrys seemed to have caught sight of it. Or if he had, he showed no sign of it. As Beckett continued to race them around the pitch, Evelynn allowed her scrutinizing attention to fall upon him. If he had seen it. If he was chasing it down, perhaps she could feed from his direction, chase after him and catch sight of it properly in the process. But there was nothing to be seen. No grand revelations. Moments ago, he had contested them for the quaffle, and now he seemed to hang back. Preparing to catch a teammate? Or giving himself a breather in an attempt to spot the snitch just as she, with fewer pellets of rain blurring his vision?

The gong sounded again. She groaned internally. 100 points for Hufflepuff to their 30. This was shaping up to be just like their first match of the season against Slytherin. Then, the snakes had managed to rack up just as many points and more. They'd dwarfed Gryffindor in the quaffle game, and it had been sheer will and a heavy dose of luck that had allowed her team to come through with the victory. She set her jaw and steeled her gaze. They could do the same again.

"Another lap," Evelynn requested urgently, her words fighting against the gale to reach her companion.

Through the downpour, the game went by largely unseen. Even the sounds of contest could hardly be discerned. Deafened by wind and blinded by rain as it battered against her half-lidded gaze, Evelynn was ignorant initially of the shift in attention to the opposing seeker. As they passed by one of the stands, however, the expression of the stands told her all she needed to know. Figures in yellow stood abruptly, some with expressions of shock, many aghast. The groan was almost palpable and it was enough to inspire just a little bit of hope. Again, she wheeled her head around, and just in time to catch sight of a certain yellow clad individual take a bludger squarely with enough force to knock him from his broom. The unseating of the seeker was one thing, but her small spark of hope suddenly ignited. Hovering just there, right where he had been: the snitch.

"I see the snitch!" Evelynn announced to Beckett, lifting her hand from its hold upon the broom to point over the chaser's shoulder towards it.

It bothered her to be so brazen about her discovery, but she'd little choice in the matter. Control of flight wasn't hers to command. Communication here was key. All over again, she could hardly breathe for the lump in her throat—this time, the pounding of her heart in excitement. As though to accentuate this turn of events, a gong sounded, and she chanced a glance to see the Gryffindor score card updated. Biting her lip to stifle her smile, Evelynn hunkered down.

She could do this. They could do this.
