ReducioUla has finished her third school year at Hogwarts with two duelling wins under her belt. Of course, was there anything less that she'd expect from herself? Absolutely not; losing was never an option.
Still, she couldn't quite really shake off the feeling of hopelessness she experienced during her last match when her spells missed opponent after opponent. So, she made a promise to herself; she'd find an activity during the summer break that would help her improve her aim. Unfortunately, with the Hogwarts regulation in place that forbids the use of a wand outside of school, she had to resort to a Muggle activity—throwing darts (ah yes, the perfect substitute for wand practice!). The idea seemed stupid at first, but at least it was cute; daddy dearest made sure to get her a set of pink Chanel throwing darts. Because, of course, if the ravenette was going to spend the whole summer throwing sharp objects at a board, she was determined to do it fashionably.
The concept was simple: stand at a set distance, steady your hand, judge the trajectory, and throw. Unfortunately, she had discovered rather quickly that consistently hitting the intended spot was harder than she had initially anticipated. A small adjustment in her stance, the angle of her wrist, the amount of force behind the throw, or even a small lapse of focus resulted not only in her frustration, but in sending the dart several centimeters away from where she wanted it.
Naturally, Ula being Ula, she was determined to master it, determined to improve her accuracy.
By the end of summer, her throws became more consistent and her hand steadier. While the young girl understood that throwing darts wasn't the same as spell work, she actually found herself applauding her new skill that translated well into spellcasting. During Ula's first few practice sessions back at Hogwarts, she noticed that she was holding her wand with more flexibility in her wrist; her spells seemed more deliberate, and she no longer rushed her aim or entirely relied on instincts. She felt more in control of her movements.
With her newfound ability to judge the distance between herself and her target and to adjust her aim accordingly, she felt more confident in herself (and more confident in her upcoming wins). Now only the next few duelling matches of the new school year will tell how much has her accuracy really improved—and whether all those hours spent throwing pink Chanel darts at a board all summer like a mad person would finally pay off.

/pəˈfɛkʃn/
noun
the action or process of improving something until it is faultless.

‘Pawn to d4.’
The ivory-gilded piece slid across the black-and-white chessboard, stopping with a small hiss at the centre. The instructor – a man of average height and build, with sandy hair and grey eyes accentuated by wire-rimmed glasses – responded almost immediately, ordering his pawn to d5.
His opponent, a svelte child with dark hair and pale green eyes, did not hesitate for even a second before responding in kind. ‘Pawn to c4.’
The exchange continued, the gambit having been accepted. The clocks ticked. Each move had to be perfect, and perfectly timed. Otherwise –
‘Check. And mate, in fact,’ stated the girl’s instructor. He rolled his shoulders backwards and stood from his seat. His hands pushed it back to its rightful place beneath the table, and then he extended his right hand towards the girl.
She took his hand in hers and shook it firmly despite the bewilderedness of her gaze. Instead of meeting his eyes, she focused on the board on the table between them. Her eyes narrowed of their own accord, and she scanned each square of black and white. It took too long for the answer, the error, to make itself visible. She should have captured that piece three turns prior. Though only the girl and the instructor were present in the room, her stomach tightened. It was but a miracle that her cheeks did not dust themselves in rose red. This error – this humiliation – could not come to pass again.

Despite day by day of disciplined drills, failure still plagued Livia as she aged. From her numerous social blunders as a youth, to spell backfires at school, she could not seem to practise enough to stop these things from occurring. Even countless nights spent practising spells instead of sleeping did not prevent her own most favourite spell from reversing its fury upon her in the Spring duel versus Hufflepuff. Few sensations existed that trumped the horror of a strike of lightning; however, the embarrassment caused by that lightning being one’s own may have created a far worse experience than necessary.
Whenever Livia struggled, she preferred to do so alone – and, preferably, not for very long. This method, though tried, was not true. More spell backfires followed, followed by more sleepless nights, which, as the girl numbly went to classes and studied, seemed to exacerbate the problem. A lack of sleep resulted in a lack of focus, and not even Livia Machavariani could overcome biology.
She conceded that a healthier approach might be necessary. Duelling prowess could not, perhaps, be conquered as easily as an opponent in chess. The strategy, the movements, all of that was second nature to the spindly Slytherin. The idea that she might have to take care of herself, even fleetingly, to procure success? That was foreign. She had forever lived by the doctrine that to suffer was to learn, and that she would not be able to grow if she did not pursue perfection – by any means necessary – in order to slowly, skillfully craft success.
During the long, rather sweltering months of the summer of 2026, Livia continued to work. During July, this was done with the help of both her family and private tutors. For a month, she tracked the length with which the presence of sleep graced her; she took careful, inked notes of what she ate, of how much, and when. In what would have otherwise been ‘free time’, at least in the mind of her brother or other individuals less prone to perfectionism, Livia pored over textbooks. On occasion, she partook in mock ‘sparring’ matches, learning how to hone accuracy and better think of spells under pressure. Time gave way to minimal success, then increased accuracy. Not once did a stray bolt of lightning turn itself upon its owner. Perfection began to lay prone to production from preparation, so prepared, she would be.

Yet it was hardly a surprise to anyone the degree of detail with which Livia’s duelling notebooks were now filled. Every idiosyncrasy of each incantation had been inscribed indelibly within reams of parchment. The book’s leather had begun to crack and grow soft with use. Upon her return to school come autumn, she would be far better learned, and far more ready to surpass all others.
After all, what else could be expected from a Slytherin with a penchant for performative perfection?

At the age of feven, he saw blood. He did not mid blood. The way that blood cam to be was the isue. He saw the boy who bullied him for his ball creaming on the ground. His foot was in really bad shape. The bully wanted to kick his ball very far, putting all his strength into it. But the ball suddently wasn't anymore. A rock took its place. Sifr saw that. He saw the change. It was surreal. A dream. What happend? It terrified him. He completely froze.
What occureed after made it real, without giving it sense. The ambulance came, the children cried, the blood was cleaned. Slowely fear started to build. There was something in this world, an unpredicteable force, that changed what was normal without a warning or a reason. And those changes could be dangerous, just like the bully. Growing up Sifr did face hardship, and his foster parents did not really mind him so he grew up reliying on himslef and his ability to search for information and knowing what to do to ease the hardship. He grew up very self reliant, very mature. But that. What was that. There is nowhere to search that. No one to ask. He needs to know. He needs to be prepared. Whatever this is it is dangerous. He must not be caught offguard. Maybe that intance was a small one. It may be more dangerous on the future.
Surely it was rare thought. So he used his flexible schedule and free time the most efficiently, diligently studiying as much as the unknown and usufull as possible, making sure to master what he learns before going to the next, mostly about the world: nature, physics, chemistry, arts, technology. He grasped each knowledge to a basic level (the fundamentals). He also gave some of his time to physical preparation. He was not a superhuman, he was just a kid. Not a genius, but a hardworking, hardstudying kid. The type you would find in rich parent households whre the kid has to make his strict parent proud. He needed to reach mastery.
When his first letter came, it was a revelation. Magic, this is what he saw. Sceptical at first, then came the alley, the wand, the sorting. Now he was sure. Magic! A whole new world. Many new sciences. But also many new dangers. Less than he though. There were institutions and orders. But still new. What is magic really? What was ot nature. All of his past endeavor payed off. Silas found himself becoming more and more stubborn as he got to Hogwarts. It truly did not help that his parents were not around to give a stern correcting. A great example of this to pull from the muggle word side of things, Silas would often refuse to do group assignments. Despite the teachers best efforts he insisted his work will be measured by his own merit. This is despite her many attempts to convince him by noting that group work often means less work for the individual. He simply is too Stubborn to listen. As for how he received Silas was actually given this as the wand he initially got. While nearly was given a different wand Olivander decided this was a better fit in the end.
Wand wood: Ebony wood wand (WC:165)
Reducio
A major part of why he had initial interest in this wood was simply the color. He has a certain aesthetic so to speak, and he intends to keep it. However the more he looked into this wand he learned those who are self assured find better use from it. Determination was a major factor of this wood and in truth the more he looked into this wood the more he was determined he felt at home with Olivander's choice of materials. He could not help but feel invigorated by this, a wand in truth is a companion and the fact alone that this is what was chosen for him seemed to mirror his determination which meant it HAD to be this one. Silas always found himself trying his best even in the muggle world, but since getting to Hogwarts? He wants to be THE BEST. He has a quiet, arrogance about it but despite that the truth is (in his mind) he will be.
Flexibility: Sturdy (WC:62)
Reducio
Change in truth is a scary thing for Silas, just coming here was enough to cause so many changes his life has flipped on his head. Despite his willingness to some change he is most definitely up for some change, he is not the first one in line to become someone new. In fact he quite likes who and what he is.
Length: 33.8cm (WC:101)
Reducio
While Silas at first glance carries himself somewhat quiet and thoughtful (so to speak) that is the personality he WISHES to be. In truth, get him talking of magical beasts or get him talking about nature in some way he has researched? That boy will not only talk your ear off with a smile on his face, but he will gladly laugh at the ridiculousness of it all without stopping.
Beyond that he had been quite friendly, and is in truth quite friendly unless given a reason not to be. Unfortunately big personalities sometimes mean bigger swings when you cross them.

I thought on this quite heavily and the more and more I think on it I think on it while Silas's original wand is incredibly interesting I think the wand I am proposing is a better fit hence why I wished to change it up a bit. Determination, stubbornness and exploring this idea he has a strong personality under his quite demeanor and general proper manners. He does not have a big personality on full display yet simply because in his own way he is coping with this new reality. To be stripped from the muggle world into this one is a big deal! Especially when your generally a bit of a nerdy person everything you see just kind of amazes you. So while he suppresses his full personality, for now (simply to get along with his fellow students) I do plan in time to get him to open up more as the years go on and how he will grow will depend on the positive or negative reinforcement. Wands are intentionally made quasi-sentient things, and as such I do believe there is a sense of sorts of all aspects of a witch or wizard even personalities that are somewhat suppressed. That said however I have had multiple RPs with Silas acting out on this personality and typically he has shown a bit of it during a confrontation and on normal separate occasions when matters he was interested in were discussed. His general determination leads him to TRY his best to excel in everything he does even if he is not perfect he tries his hardest. Failure is a reason to try harder not typically something to feel bad on. In his mind, all things are possible through the wizarding world and while he is not entirely sure how his life will shape out yet, much like many witches and wizards of his age, he is most certainly going to be sure whatever he ends up doing he will do his best to be the best version of himself while doing it.
Change goes for Silas almost as far as he can throw. As mentioned in the "length" section, Silas is primarily putting a facade one that he believes will be liked by those around him. There is some truth to the idea some of that is truly him but it is important to note that he is only willing to change so much and that includes showing his true colors so to speak. The compliments he has received in RP also reinforce his behavior but he is not completely against the idea. There have been some students he feels more comfortable opening up a bit with, but this is all to simply explain a bit more thoroughly on some of the sections there. To close this off, the collection of statements, and thoughts occasionally, are examples on why I believe this particular arrangement of spells suits him quite and will carry him a bit closer to his goals.

- I'm not worried about your registration, be it approved or not, but there are a few other things:
- Silas is 11. Wandmaking is an incredibly complex branch of magic, so he would not be able to make his own wand as an incoming first year. The wandmaker ability itself states: 'Are you a wandmaker? No, not at all but someone in your life is or was'.
- Given that, please explain a different way for Silas to have obtained the wand. As a first year, this could even be the wand he received from Ollivander upon doing school shopping. Otherwise, it could have been commissioned, or maybe a family heirloom.

It had taken a while for the reality of her situation to set in--all summer, in fact. One after another, she had seen her closest friends embark on their new journeys: first Pericles had received his acceptance letter into to join the ranks of the prestigious Auror Training program; then Dealla. Aly, although her interests and aspirations had taken her in an altogether different direction, had already found employment as a deckhand with the Dralts. Yet Evelynn, who had for seven years considered herself among the top of her peers in terms of academic excellence and personal accomplishment, had not. She had applied to the program at the same time, yet no acceptance letter had been rendered. Weeks went by. Then months. Until finally, at the end of the summer, a letter delivered by a less-than-dignified owl had finally made it into her hands. The contents therein were less than welcome.
Rejection hadn't even been a consideration. There had been no plan B.
Yet there she sat, alone and futureless. With no small amount of consoling by the wizarding (Harper) side of her bloodline, she would eventually pick up the pieces and obtain employment as a Security Guard for the Ministry of Magic. It was a far cry from her vision of serving as an Auror, and in a way, it salted the wound. At the same time, the continued freshness of that failure to advance stoked ambition within her. Embittered, she did what many a cast-aside would do in a similar situation: turn to darker and more forbidden knowledge. If her current accolades were insufficient, she would pursue a higher knowledge, demonstrate to them--and to herself--that they had made a mistake in denying her entry.
Access to the material was hardly an issue. The journey had begun during her years at Hogwarts. Rarely satisfied with the course material, she had frequently visited the Restricted Section of the Library in search of that which would not be taught in class. NEWTs had narrowed her lens of rigid study to examinable material, but now, released from structured education and with a fairly routine day job, she had all the time in the world to spend pouring over her notes. And when notes failed, it wasn't as though she was short on study material.
The convenience of living with the Harpers was the fact that their apartments were located above their bookstore. Gobbledy Books might, to many an observer, appear as an innocent--albeit curiously named--muggle bookstore. Yet, through a secret passage accessed through the 'Employee Bathroom' at the back of the store, lay the wizarding section. While the store wasn't one to carry regular stock of what Hogwarts would have classified as restricted knowledge, Evelynn's relationship with the owners made it such that she could generally place special purchase requests at a whim. And did, funneling much of her employment earnings into a new and growing collection of occasionally questionable tomes.
And so, from the end of the summer forward, much of her time was spent pouring over anything and everything related to the performance and mastering of spells related to Defense Against the Dark Arts or any other magic she perceived as practical in the hands of an Auror attempting to track down, overpower, and contain Dark Wizards. Next year, she promised to herself, there would be no question: the Department of Magical Law Enforcement would accept her into the Auror Training Academy or choke on their tongues.

Dear Miss Evelynn,
Thank you for your application to the Auror Training Program and for attending the recent evaluation session at the Ministry of Magic.
We received an exceptional number of applications from this year’s Hogwarts graduates. The Selection Committee has now completed its review of all candidates, and I regret to inform you that you have not been selected to join the incoming class of 2026.
While your academic record is commendable, competition for the limited training slots is incredibly fierce. The Auror Office requires candidates who meet the absolute highest standards of magical aptitude, defense against the dark arts, and psychological resilience. Unfortunately, your current qualifications do not align with our immediate requirements for the upcoming intake.
We appreciate your enthusiasm and your desire to serve the wizarding community. You are eligible to reapply during the next recruitment cycle, provided you obtain further practical experience or higher marks in your N.E.W.T. examinations.
We wish you...

Describe why this fits your character: WC=645
ReducioThe first time Azzure ever heard the word blind was at 3 years old. He sat in the coldness of the sterile hospital room, the harsh fluorescent lights blurring the edges of his vision. Azz can still clearly remember those words. Back then Azzure was too young to understand what that truly meant –– no kid is born being told how to live in a world where beauty and sights would be ripped away from them and yet Azz had no choice but to.
He grew up cursing the eyes he saw in the mirror, his skin — pale as paper — and in the darkness of the night when his vision finally cleared, he'd lie awake wondering if other people had to shy from the light too.
Only when Azzure was sent to live with her mom's friend before his first year in Hogwart, did Azz begin to understand that he was fundamentally different. Those years, Azzure learned other people don't feel like the sun is burning their corneas. Azzure learned then that being albino — being blind meant isolation, meant never being able to connect with people like a normal kid would.
That feeling of isolation only grew when Azz entered Hogwarts. For a long time, it was hard to adjust, he wasn't used to that many people around him, everyday felt like he was getting scolded or something wrong was happening. But as the years went by Azzure's eyesight just kept getting worse until the summer going into his third year when it got to the point where Azz's eyesight got too bad for even the highest grade of glasses to fix it.
Now as Azz entered into his third year, shades required to keeo his eyes from burning in the sunlight, Azzure was thrusting into a blur of motion and a monochromatic insipid of a world he'd could no longer experience in full color. After getting the news that from now on his eyesight will get worse and worse until finally the world went dark –– Azzure started learning braille.
At first it was hard and it was a lot of funbling — with no one to teach him and no one to relate to, Azzure felt more alone than ever. Suddenly not being able to read felt dehumanizing, but more than that, not being able to see the paintings that he'd spent countless hours on crushed him. As the weeks past, Azzure got more confident in his ability to read, and it was during this period of time when Azz realised that without the ability to see, his other senses heightened. Now, the sound of rustling leaves, the rush of water, the tweeting of birds, even the sound of his cat –– Blodwyn walking around sounded like thumping in his ears.
At first it was disorientating, every sound, even if it was from across the room rang loud and clear for him. But his hearing isn't the only thing that felt more prominent, his sense of touch also got more intense. Whenever Azz would touch his broom, he would feel every groove, each twist and twirl of the wood during the manufacturing process of the broom, when placing his hands on paper, Azz could feel every bump and inconsistency in even the smoothest paper, leaves felt like maps, and walls felt like rough sand paper under his skin. And although the changes were vast, over time Azzure came to appreciate how this had allowed him to see the world through a different perspective. He could hear the sound of nature, and listen to their pleas, and he could sit in the silence of the night and hear the crickets and the grasshoppers keep him company.
So although Azzure Solace no longer had the ability to see, it was okay because he gained a new ability — the ability to feel.

Vision impairment related to albinism is not degenerative. It would not deteriorate over the years towards complete blindness the way that you have described. Moreover, now that Azzure is in the magical world, he has access to magical healing that would repair mundane ocular illness/injury, restoring him to his baseline level of vision. If being completely blind is important to your character's narrative, you will need to explain a means by which it happened that cannot be cured (as choosing not to seek magical treatment would be child neglect on the part of the parents, especially being pureblood).

Jessica is a perfect illustration of the ability called Fearless. It does not mean that a person never feels afraid; on the contrary, it means that one has the courage to face difficult situations, challenges, and uncertainty without allowing fear to control their actions. It is Jessica's character, her attitude, and her determination that account for why this ability is so well suited to her.
One of the most noticeable aspects of Jessica's personality is her courage; she is willing to take action even when a situation seems difficult or intimidating. Instead of retreating immediately when confronted with a challenge, she makes the effort to understand the situation and find a way of dealing with it. This is the reason why 'Fearless' is an appropriate ability, as it reflects her readiness to face problems directly.
Jessica is also very determined; when she has decided that something is important to her, she does not easily give up. Even though there are occasions when things do not turn out as hoped for, she continues to try rather than allowing failure to affect her. This persistence is a vital part of what it means to be fearless. True courage does not consist in always succeeding; it is about having the strength to carry on after having faced setbacks.
Jessica is suitable for Fearless because she is ready to stand up for what she believes to be right. It is usually easier when difficulties arise to remain silent or simply follow what the rest of people are doing. Unlike this, Jessica is capable of stating her opinions and defending her decisions. She understands that at certain times doing the right thing requires confidence and courage. The fact that she remains firm when under pressure proves that she has the spirit of Fearless.
The boldness of Jessica's character is also shown in the way she handles new experiences; instead of being completely put off by uncertainty, she is prepared to take risks, learn from what happens to her, and grow as a result. With each new challenge she has she gets stronger and more confident. This adventurous and determined attitude shows that Fearless is more than just a special ability—it expresses a part of who she is.
Nothing less than the fact that Jessica is fearless should lead one to think that she acts carelessly. Genuine fearlessness means taking time to think, understanding the risks involved, and still deciding to go ahead when it is important. She is able to see that a situation is difficult without letting that difficulty stop her. It is this blend of courage and responsibility that makes her especially suitable for the job.
For Jessica, the name Fearless should stand as a symbol of courage, determination, confidence, and resilience; it should act as a reminder that challenges are not reasons for yielding but rather chances to find out her own strength. Regardless of whether she has to make a difficult decision, stand up for someone, overcome failure, or enter an unfamiliar situation, Jessica is able to meet each of these situations with courage.
Ultimately, Jessica can be associated with the Fearless brand because it embodies her ability to meet challenges with determination rather than having her actions be controlled by fear. The brand represents the strength to keep going, the confidence to remain loyal to one's decisions, and the courage to face whatever may happen in the future. It is not necessary for Jessica to be free of fear in order to be considered fearless—what is required is only the courage to rise above it.

Once in a while, Avis' wand did this odd thing. It was pretty uncommon, and pretty random. Every once in a while, her wand shot two spells at once. She could never control what the second spell was, but it made her wonder - could she? Could she cast two spells at once? If so, she would basically be two different people at once. Her duels would become 4 v 3s. 5 v 3s, if her wand did that extra spell thing and she spread the spell. Then, no one could be her, and she would truely be the best at duelling.
All pure motives, as motives go.
She spent hours in an empty classroom with not one pillow propped up on a table, but two, and aimed her wand at the one on the left. And sure, sometimes she hit cast two spells, but it wasnt controlled. It wasnt more common than it was before, until it was.
Once, in October, she was casting a flipendo, when it seemed to slice, flipping into both pillows and Avis grinned, spun to make sure no one was at the door, the let out a quiet shriek of joy, before flattening back into a slight smile and starting again. Maybe she couldnt cast two spells, but she could certainly make it look like she did.
It was something about the thought process that made it work, something about her level of intent and, to be honest, how much she cared to beat whomever was on the other side of the spell.
That was the first step, figuring out how to do it, but acfually doing it consistently was another thing entirely. She hadnt even checked her book with Sabrina in a month, she was so busy grinding out the training.
Not that there had been anything in it, anways.
Not that she cared. Totally. Definetly. Because it gave her more time to fling spells at those stupid worn pillows. By the end, Avis barely even liked the color blue anymore, which was unfortunate, considering part of her hair was blue.
By October, Avis could consistently hit both of them, although it did wear her down a bit after, and she always seemed to be a bit worse at her next few spells. At that point, she really hoped that no one had noticed her take the pillows from the ravenclaw common room, and she really really hoped no one expected her to return the thing, considered the mangled mess that the pillows had become

Ability: Calming Presence
Year: First
Why Does This Fit:
ReducioMost who saw her would describe a future presence within herself, a poised, confident woman, able to achieve her whims with preciseness. This confidence that seemed to exude from Armand ever since youth was a clear calming presence on the children and even adults around her. Perhaps one could imagine the ethically suspect nature of adults who found their calmness through an eleven year old, but despite such unethicality it was a true aspect of Miss Armand D’Eparvier’s character.
Another aspect that drove such presence within the young soul of Armand was her pure, bright, passion. This pure bright passion was one that cared not for the moral categories of good or bad, but possibly only the extent of obsession. Just as much as Armand cared not for the categories of good or bad, she cared not for the opinion of others in the throes of her obsessions. This unaltered passion was a refreshing thing for the people who lived in the drab grey world of modernity and gave most others the calming sense of someone who knew what they were doing and how they were going to do it, id est, her natural leadership in a world of followers was a calming presence. People loved to follow and if there was someone to follow in a world of unestablished foundations, perhaps it made sense for it to be calming.
Her insecurity was another source of her calming presence. Though she was not average, she often pretended that she was, acted like others were better than her, that she was content with everything around her. This poised her as a non-threat to most around her and thus was calming to those who considered above average individuals threatening. Her inner guile and willingness to lie should have threatened them more, but it was never apparent. Also, her lies were always used for the benefit of others rather than herself which made her presence much more calming to those around her.
Her calming presence also found its source in her search of the beautiful. She would always appreciate uniqueness, speciality, even if it was disapproved of by society. This ability to appreciate people and the world without judgment was a truly calming aspect of her personality to those around her.
The most unique aspect of her calming presence was her name. The startling fact of a girl with a boy’s name was fascinating and disarming enough that her soothing nature was practiced afterwards. She had always had to ensure people and calm them down, stating, “Yes, I am a girl, born a girl, will grow up as a woman, no I am not pretending to be a girl.” So much groveling, explanations, hints of a father who disliked his wife, many adults who did not believe her, and such led her to have to fight to be calming to the people prone to seeking such answers. However, she had become quite successful at doing so. Alas, it was a skill that was created by a necessity that should not exist.

Pam had never really been interested in being perfect at anything.
She liked doing things for the heck of it, because they were fun, and Quidditch had been no different. When she first started playing, she had been much more interested in the actual flying than whether every pass or throw she made was technically perfect. If she saw an opportunity, she tended to take it, mostly without thinking quite enough about where the Quaffle was actually going to end up.
However, while she had been somehow lucky enough to make the team, in the long run, this, unsurprisingly, did not always work in her favour.
There were times when a pass went slightly too far, or she misjudged where a teammate would be by the time the Quaffle reached them. She could usually laugh it off and try again, but as she continued playing, it became clear that her accuracy was something she needed to work on.
Among other things.
Mamori was, unfortunately quite good at noticing things like that.
He was also a pain in her existence.
And so Pam practiced.
A lot.
Mamori had her work herself dry for days on end. At first, Pam mostly found the repetition boring. After all, throwing a Quaffle at the same target for what felt like the hundredth time was hardly the most exciting way to spend an afternoon.
Still, somewhere along the way, she started noticing a difference.
She began to pay more attention to the little things, the angle of her arm, the amount of force behind a throw, and where someone would be rather than simply throwing towards where they were standing.
And she also started actually focusing on her practice than getting distracted midway thinking about how she could get away with poisoning the Puffle Quidditch Captain.
It wasn't as though she suddenly became perfectly accurate. There were still throws that went nowhere near where she intended them to. But she became much more consistent, and she found herself correcting mistakes without having to stop and think about every movement.
The drills that had once seemed tedious began to feel almost automatic.
Eventually, she could actually feel herself getting better at her role, and so the fun of the game bled back into her practice too. Looking back, she had to admit that Mamori had probably been right to make her practice as much as he did. It brought a sense of discipline and understanding into her gameplay that she couldn't help feel grateful for.
Except she would never admit that even if the sky came breaking down on her head.
