Slytherin v Ravenclaw Broom Racing Summer Games 2022

Breathe in, breathe out. That's the best thing to do. He straightens his shoulders and rights himself on his broom as his aim meets his target. Things are start to...sort of look better? Maybe Ravenclaw has a chance to win this thing. It would mean so much for him for his team to gain another victory. But that could only be accomplished with hard work and thoughtful planning, which is what they were going to use.

Percival was trying his best to keep on the broom and stay in this race. Most of his body hurt from the cuts and bruises that had covered it by now, and it didn't help that blood was starting to cover his vision. Moving ahead, he didn't see the spells of the others coming his way. The spells hit him directly, each one hurting more than the last. Clenching his blood soaked teeth, he still kept strong. Gray's ripped through gloves clenched the broom even tighter, body and mentality on fire in a mixture of pain and adrenaline.

Having woken up, Vale and Colin traveled forward, reaching the thorns. Unfortunately for Vale, an interest in blood did not render her immune to the dangers of bleeding, similarly wolfish reflexes did little to assist Colin.

The rest of the racers would seemingly coalesce around the vines, some trying to escape from their tangled grasp, and some choosing to assist their trapped teammates. Others prepared themselves to cast spells at their opponents. Meanwhile, Clair and Bloom had other plans, the former alley-ooping her ally forward.

Clair watched as Bloom went zooming forward, Ally Oops were always fun, she loved how her arms could do that, assist in flinging her team mate further then she would have been able to go before. Getting ready to face the rest of the track Clair gritted her teeth, Ravenclaw just had to win.

Interacting with Ravenclaw Broom Racers

Adrenaline was flowing through Bloom's body. It looked promising to go forward as much as possible. There was just Percival that was ahead of her and she needed to somehow get past him. But how? She locked eyes with some of the players and it seemed that they all had the right idea. Bloom was chosen to be Ally Ooped forward. It was a lucky chance, but she made it through so many obstacles that she went ahead of Percival and was now in the front of the Broom Race. She wasn't sure, but Bloom thought she could see the end of the race!

Turns out all that steady thinking paid off. Ari was one of the few racers to make it through the vines without being caught in them. He was pleasantly surprised with himself considering the streak of bad luck he was having in this race. Things were looking up for his team as everyone crept closer and closer to the finish line.

Colin found himself firmly stuck and tangled in the Nearly Impossible Vines! The racing course had conspired against almost everyone in both teams! The scent of blood and acid burnt flesh filled Colin's nostrils, and much of that blood his own, as he struggled with the vines.

His mates Vale and Scarlett had fallen behind! Percy seemed to be flying unconscious! One of the birds, at least, fell to earth defeatherised! "Well, that's one Chickenclaw down!" he cried. Colin watched in astonishment as that really cute girl, Clair, actually flung one of her mates forward! Colin had no idea such a thing was possible, and it was a sight to behold! And the older girl was flung free

"Owoooooooooooooooooooo!!!"

Colin's heart soared! The race didn't look good for the Basilisks, perhaps, but he felt as if a door he'd not known of before was open to him. He might be stuck in the vines here, but he'd certainly go through that door! He smiled suddenly, as the vines tore at him. He figured most folks would assume he was cheering for the downed bird, well plucked and properly descopated --- but Colin knew in his heart who he was cheering for! And he determined that he would cheer for her henceforth!

Hunter maneuvered through the vines with ease, noticing some of his teammates had also escaped the natural maze with little to no issues. Few to no snakes were near him, and he took it as a chance to perhaps grant his team a better lead. He slowed immensely and turned himself back at the obstacle, "Time to play gatekeeper" he thought to himself. Wand at the ready and moving very little, he felt ready and prepared to cause misfortune for any snakes who believed they could make it through the vines easily. He could see Vale in the distance, and Hunter was prepared to cast. Yet, perhaps self-doubt overcame him or his wand felt the blood bond between the two cousins. Hunter could feel his wand refusing to cast, and with that it backfired. He was falling, and his broom was out of reach for the time being. He gave off a really annoyed sigh as the time went by.

Scarlet had hoped that somehow members of the opposing team would mess up and she would get the chance to overtake some of them, at least one of them. No matter how much she wished it or pushed her broom to go faster she wasn’t overtaking anyone anytime soon. She squinted her eyes trying to see if her teammates were doing better than her, she hoped so and had faith that they were. At least she didn’t have to worry about surprise attacks from behind when she was at the back of the pack.
