Campfire Stories
As Aurélie sat near the fire, waiting for the boys to return, she noticed the night was getting colder and she was starting to feel tired. Aurélie looked around but couldn’t see if the boys were still chatting or had left. So, the girl decided to head to her tent and get some sleep. She slowly stood up and smiled at the students surrounding her as to say goodnight. Even though she hadn’t interacting with many people, she enjoyed spending the night outside and listening to other’s stories or songs. The fire was still cackling blue light and sparks of magical fire jumped all around and filled the air.
The girl made her way through the chatting students and left the campfire site. As she walked towards her tent, she took a mental note to say hello to the Russian boy she met earlier, if they ever met again. He seemed like a decent, perhaps a little bit arrogant, but a nice guy.
Aurélie has left the thread and gone to bed.

Interactions: Der Niffler (@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood) & Theodore (@Opeila Seilun)
Well, she hadn't been wrong at least. The boy had looked around the moment she had spoken his name, but confusion had streaked across his countenance, leading Greta to drop her hands to intertwine anxiously in her skirts as she stood there. All the more so as what little hope she'd had that he'd be pleased to see her was dashed with the simple words "I don't know". Her stomach had taken a plummet, thoughts scolding herself for overstepping and presuming to make such an inquiry in the first place.
Her mind roared for a retreat, and that notion had nearly been sealed as a hand appeared seemingly out of nowhere with fingers twining to muss her hair. She'd nearly jumped out of her skin, knees buckling as she shied and twisted to take stock of her attacker and EEP!'d all the more as she held fast to her little plate of tasties and tried not to spill any of them with her reaction. The shadow of a smirk visible on Valentin's features, she wrinkled her nose and shot him a scolding look punctuated with the absolutely classy addition of a stuck-out tongue. Of course, that interaction did little to settle her nerves, and she turned back to Theo, cheeks rosy with embarrassment.
She was just about to give her apology and take her leave when the meaning of her broken English had dawned on Theodore and he'd shuffled over to make room. Relief flooded through her visibly as lips parted to release a sigh and shoulders dropped to release the tension in them. Flashing a coy smile in his direction, she took tentative steps forward to skirt around the edge of the bench and lower herself upon it. Setting her plate on the bench between them, she drew her feet up onto the seat, adjusted her skirts to cover them, and wrapped her arms around her knees.
"Hm?" Greta cast Theo a curious look, then caught the direction of his gaze which moved past her onto something else.
A glance in that direction showed that Valentin had settled himself rather conspicuously nearby. He always seemed to her to be one to try to place himself in the heart of anything exciting going on, but he'd seemed so comfortable in his previous resting spot. To see him have moved so near, though, gave her pause. It was as though he had stationed himself as some sort of chaperone. The colour on her cheeks only deepened at that. No doubt Hanzo had set him on the task to keep an eye on her and make sure she stay out of trouble in his own absence.
"Ehm…" Reining back her attention, she cast a furtive glance to Theo before looking down at her hands where fingers plucked at a loose thread. "Is der Niffler. Ehm. Valentin. He is.. Ehm.. Sucher (German: Seeker).. Ehm…Quidditch boy who… ehm… Fängt den (German: catches the) Snitch."
As though to clarify, she clasped her hands together, hovering slightly over her knees as though catching a butterfly from mid-air. She wasn't really sure what else to say about the boy. Or how, even if she could think of something to add. Regardless, the boy with the funny accent had gone on to address her other question and this commanded her full attention to try to puzzle it out. Honey'd eyes turned to him, shifting consistently between his lips and his hands as she tried to piece together the broken words and charade.
She glanced to the fire as he spoke the word and gestured to it, then noticed him making the motions as though reading a book as he referenced everyone present. Admittedly, her first thought was that this was some strange tradition of burning school textbooks to celebrate the end of the year and she caught herself staring fixedly into the flames trying to find the source of its fuel and the tell-tale shape of tomes at its centre. There were none — at least insofar as she could tell — and so her gaze unfocused with a second attempt to understand. Speak stories, though, he'd said.
Then it dawned on her and she couldn't help but put the heel of her palm to her forehead as she realized how simple it was. [In German] "They've gathered around here to tell stories,"[/color] she confirmed, catching the fact that she'd slipped into a string of rapid German just as she finished. [In English] "Oh.. Ehm… Yes, I understand, I am thinking? Ehm…" She looked to Theo curiously. "You are to… to say a story?" she wondered, hoping he understood she was trying to ask if he'd be sharing anything. Fingers dropped to pick at a chunk of chocolate and slip it into her mouth. "Mn.." she hummed, a thought occurring to her. "What is?" She asked, pointing towards someone nearby making a smore.
Whatever the answer, however, Greta surely wasn't to receive it. A moment later, her inquisition was punctuated by a scream that had her whipping her head back towards the fire in time to see some girl falling into it. Eyes flashed wide, the whites of the sclera brimming irises in a thick frame, as hands flashed to clap over and muffle Greta's own shriek of surprise. Thankfully, that was short lived enough. As the girl stumbled out and to her feet, it seemed as though she hadn't taken damage herself. Her wardrobe was not so lucky. In a matter of moments, she stood bare and on display.
Greta could do nothing but stare in horror, hands still firmly pressed over her mouth.

♠ Interacting With Meenauh and San ♠
♦ Looking for Anything Odd ♦
@Meenauh Silmataurea @Santario Martin

She was too late. Xailah had good reflexes. They had never failed her during small, meaningless encounters. However the one time she actually needed them, they would betray her. Everything just happened so fast. One minute she was staring off into the nothingness- next minute Meenauh was hurling herself into blue flames. There was little time to think- little time for the metamorph to find her way back to reality. Caught between the urgency of the situation, and her unusual haze; Xailah would reach out to her falling friend. Xailah had good reflexes. But in that moment, they weren't good enough. Gentle fingers, ran along Meenauhs spine- the tips caressed the fabric of her clothes. Searching- feeling, for anything to loop around. For a moment Xailah had though that she had caught the other Gryffindor- but alas, her friend would continue to fall. The metamorph would swipe a second time- only this time she would caress the warm, summer air. She upset her inkwell in the process. The black liquid, contained in the pot, would spill. Inky tendrils stretched, and bled across her letter to Pericles. Ruined.
Xailah would be left to watch her friend tumble onto the flaming, blue hands. The azure fingers gabbed at Meenauhs clothes. The cotton fabrics that clothed the lion would burn, and nearly leave the girl in the nude. Xailah had tried to help. She abandoned her letter, and her spot next to the professor. She reached into the fire with little thought- the flames were bluebell flames, and virtually harmless to living material, but that didn't change the fact that it was a fire. They still burned. The cuffs of the metamorphs sleeves would be scorched, as she tried to scoop Meenauh out of the glowing coals. But Meenauh would get up on her own. The girl frantically patted at the fire that clung to her remaining clothes. Clothes- they were merely rags at that point. Clothes were meant to conceal, and cover- the fabric patches did none of that. It was a pitiful sight. Meenauh scrambled to salvage what was left of her clothes, but both girls would come to realize that there was hardly anything left to salvage.
They both stood there. Meenauh stood there almost completely bare. Xailah stood there, with a hand clasped over her forehead. What the hell happened? The metamorph tried to rewind- go over what had happened. Only moments ago, both girls were quietly talking- having fun; but now both were confused, and one was half-naked. "I-I don't know-... It wasn't you?" Idiot. Of course it wasn't her. No logical person would willingly fling themselves into a fire, just to burn their clothes- oh god her clothes. Xailahs hands darted up to the collar of her shirt. "Small hands?" She squeaked. Her fingers mindlessly worked at the tortoise-shell, buttons. She thought little about what she was doing- she merely aware of the fact, that she was willing to give her own shirt to the trembling lioness. But due to the kindness, and quick thinking of another student, she wouldn't have to give up her garments.
A familiar snake would venture over to join the Gryffindor duo. The Slytherin must have known Meenauh- she addressed the lioness by her name. Xailah knew the Slytherin. Not personally- but she recognized the serpent as the photographer, from the most recent ball. Sometimes she saw the girl around the grounds. The raven-haired girl, seemed to always have her camera with her. The serpent held out her jacket to Meenauh- which was very nice of her. Xailah would go on to pluck the garment from the snakes hand, and drape the fabric over Meenauhs shoulders. She poked and pulled the jacket around her fellow lioness, as if she were a mother dressing her own child. "No kidding." She peered up at the serpent in thanks. Normally a comment like the one from the snake, would have earned a snicker. But Xailah wasn't snickering. In fact she wasn't entirely sure if she was even breathing. Her chest felt tight, her head felt cluttered. She was just- confused. She looked around- her eyes traced over all the faces. Some of the faces stared back at the trio. Some were too focused on other things. Her gaze would continue to wander, as she looked beyond the faces. "Meena, are you sure, you felt something push you?" Small unseen hands. Yeah. Xailah had an idea of what was going on. Though, she simply wasn't sure if she wanted to accept the facts just yet.

Someone approached Meenauh and she involuntarily jumped away. One push was enough for one evening. Fortunately, that was Santario and not empty-handed — she offered care and a jacket. Meenauh quickly investigated the offer, both with her eyes and heart. Her stance was sort of sad and hilarious — ready-to-fight while being almost completely nude was not something she anticipated to be at any point of her evening. She needed to both be on-guard and try to let it go. So, she melted down a bit and accepted the temporary clothing with a nod.
She kept looking at Xailah, or actually behind her. She gave the professor a glance, and she was sleeping like a stone, it seemed. Meenauh didn't want to cause further chaos. They had to act mindfully.
She kept glancing around trying to search for the wherever the danger was.
"Thank you. I didn't realise those were bluebells when I was falling," she said while putting the jacket on.Interacting with @Santario Martin

"I- I am not sure of course. It seemed like... a very strong cat or something. Maybe a-," and she widened her eyes in a sharp realisation, "Xailah!" she sort of scream-shrieked, but then quickly realised her mistake and made a few steps towards her (not opposing San to follow her, if she would), lowering it down to hissing: "Did you get rid of it?!" she asked her if not furiously then just in an accusatorial tone, and looked behind Xailah's shoulder to the place where they had sat, trying to notice something, "Did you get rid of you-know-what?!"Interacting with @Xailah Alptraum

Not causing chaos was precisely what led Santario to approach the way she had, not stopping Xail from taking the jacket. The last thing they needed right now was the rest f the people here panicking and slinging spells at something they could not see. She listened to the two older girls as she quietly put away her camera and casually drew her wand holding it firmly in her hand but keeping it against her thigh. Meena’s shriek of Xail’s name brought her into further focus into the conversation, and she would take a few steps forward with the girl to listen. If something was going on, six eyes were better than four. Santario may have only been just a budding second year, but she had learned to start observing for danger and to try and keep her cool when the time came to it. This is exactly what made her forget to introduce herself to Xail; there were more important matters at hand.Interacting| @Meenauh Silmataurea | @Xailah Alptraum
It was clear the two older girls shared a, perhaps, dangerous secret as Meena asked if Xail had gotten rid of something that she didn’t even want to name. “This reminds me of a little of the spiders.” She spoke softly, but just loud enough for the two other girls to hear her. As it was not an off-handed comment. She knew about the hags, but not the hag dolls, and all she could think of was how the spiders attacked the Slytherin common room that night. As far as she knew, there was still no logical explanation for how they came into existence, not with how they disappeared.
Santario, while paying attention to the girls, but her eyes were on the ground watching for any movement.

Ileen quietly listened to Santario’s explanation and a smile plucked at the corners of her mouth as the other girl mentioned the support of their head of house. Ileen admired Professor Jensen – she was one of the few Slytherins that gave Ileen hope that the whole house wasn’t doomed. She had always sensed that the professor was a very friendly woman who cared for her students. This small detail was just another confirmation.
The young brunette girl would still have loved to be there when a photo was developed, but she did not want to impose herself. Maybe she could just try it herself one day and ask Santario for help?
She just opened her mouth to put her thoughts into words when a movement at the fire caught the girls’ attention and interrupted the conversation. She was just quick enough to see a girl, who seemed to be a little older than herself, stumbling backwards into the flames. Ileen’s heart stopped and she just stood there frozen, while Santario immediately rushed to help the girl.
As soon as Ileen could tell that the girl was unharmed she searched for the trigger. Had someone pushed her? But there was no one standing there… Normally this wouldn't have bothered her much since no one had really come to harm, but this reminded her too much of something that had happened while stargazing. A cold shiver ran down her back and she clasped her camera tighter. This feeling got even more tense when she was overhearing some parts of the conversation. Hands. That had pushed her.
Ileen’s dark brown eyes were fixed on the spot where the girl had been pushed. She felt uneasy and shivered. This was the second time… Maybe she should better leave, but she couldn’t move.

@Evelynn Decipio as Greta Fransson
So the boy- Valentin- he... caught the snitch? That made sense, so Valentin was the seeker of the quidditch team. The Niffler part did not make so much sense. Confused he looked at Greta. "Valentin is the seeker? But uh... Niffer? Niffler is like uh... little... Tier animal. He is no Niffler." He smiled. Maybe Greta misunderstood something. Or... oh. "Ohhh. Understand. Der Niffler. Because he searches the golden snitch, I see." Theo caught himself speaking wrong english as well now, cutting out some confusing words to make it easier for her to understand and thereby destroyed the grammar a bit.
Greta seemed to understand Theo's broken explanation of this campfire and then asked him if he would tell a story too. Quickly he shook his head. "Me? Oh, no no." He grinned and shook his head. "I don't have a story. I come from no-maj family. Uh. Muggle? Ehm. My family... No magic." He held his wand up when saying my family and then dropped it on the floor, both hands in the air. "So I don't know... magic stories." He picked his wand up and shrugged.
Greta watched someone making a s'more and asked Theo what it was. He grinned. "Only one moment, mylady.", he said in a playful tone and picked up his stick with marshmallow, that he had leaned against a stone. For a few more seconds, he held it over the fire- and dropped it when someone screamed. He heard Greta shriek next to him and quicker than he thought his reflexes were, his hand had found his wand.
He jerked around and saw a girl, quickly getting out of the campfire, her clothes burning. "Holy-" Theodore had gotten to his feet, unsure if he should goover and look if he could help, or not. One look to Greta, who was sitting on the bench, her hands pressed on her mouth, took the decision away.
Theo would have turned this down as a girl being clumsy, as an accident with no one getting hurt luckily, if the Hogwarts students didn't act so weirdly. Theo was unfamiliar with Hogwarts' horrors, but he wasn't blind. The way some the Hogwarts students looked at one another almost resembled panic- unfitting for this little accident. "What is happening here?", he murmured to himself. Did another student push the girl? Was there maybe a good reason for Valentin Niffler to look after his teammates? Was that an attempt to injure a Hogwarts Quidditch Player?
Greta sat down next to him and quickly figured who he was looking at. It was really hard to communicate with the different languages, but Theo enjoyed it a lot. Not only did he remember a few german words again, he simply enjoyed the challenge. Maybe he would try and write her a german letter over the holidays? He would have to get his sister to help him, she knew the language a lot better than he did.Roleplaying as Theodore Duncain

A strong cat? Cats don't have hands! Cats don't have hands Meenauh! Her brain screamed, as it tried to process and accept what could- what had happened. Its the doll! You know it, and so do I! Just say it! Xailah wanted Meenauh to bring it up, so she didn't have to. As much as Xailah would have liked to ignore all the obvious signs, and the talk that would come afterwards; she knew that the topic was an unavoidable one. She shuffled alongside Meenauh, and would take the occasional glance back, towards the Slytherin that had clothed the lion. The snake had started to look around too.
The metamorphs brief search would come to a sudden halt, as Meenauh finally broke the ice. The shrill nature of her voice, made Xailah wince. Dark strands of hair receded away from the metamorphs pale face. She would feel something brush by her pant leg, but would never bother to look down. The question had been asked, and she had been caught. She was more focused on how she would answer Meenauh. "Yes." She thought that she could lie at first. She stood confidently, but a quiver of a lip, and the extreme dilation of her pupils would give her away. Over time, Xailah had found that it was much harder for her to lie to friends, than strangers.
"No." She confessed, in a defeated tone. "I- I wanted to keep it for a little while longer. To ssstudy it." She looked at Meenauh like an animal that had been badly scolded. "It wasn't sssupposed to get out. I took such good care of it..." She shook her head solemnly, before turning towards their new snake acquaintance. It was interesting as to how quickly one was to jump to help complete strangers. Neither snake, or elder Gryffindor, had taken the time to introduce themselves. And that was... alright. The metamorph didn't need a name, in order to be grateful for the snakes gestures. Xailah had only heard vague whispers of the spider attack. She knew nothing about their link with hags. "The ones that attacked the common room?" Her head cocked from side to side, as she tried to force two possible puzzle pieces together.
"Forgive my ignorance. I've only heard sssnippets of what happened. People seem to be rather reluctant to talk about it." And for good reason most likely. "This is no spider. At least I don't think it is- it doesn't look like one." Two flickers of gold gazed across the black grass, and into the nothingness. Still nothing. The gold flickered to the two girls in her company, in search for that telltale glimmer of discovery in their eyes. "Its a doll. And a sentient one at that. Please try to abstain from killing it." Was that right? Could the doll be killed? It wasn't really living... was it? She thought about correcting herself, but figured that it would not matter. "I think that it could be a link, to some very valuable information- about the hags in the forest." There it was. The big reveal. Spoken in a voice no higher than a gentle whisper. There was no longer a reason for Xailah, to try to withhold certain bits of information from the blue-eyed Slytherin. The girl already knew something was up.

Meenauh was looking at Xailah. She could feel her heartbeat even though she didn't touch her. It was in the air. The whole situation was dangerous and she was probably freaking out. The quick confirmation that Xailah got rid of the doll made Meenauh exhale. Just in time for Xailah to turn to the opposite and confess that the doll was not gotten rid of. Meenauh closed her eyes, but not with fury filling her. She was breathing hard, partially because of the cold, partially because she still sensed the danger. She was just shaking her head when Xailah was trying to provide her explanation as an excuse.
When she got closer to the place they were sitting, she noticed an item that was lying there and it wasn't there before. Maybe somewhere nearby, but not there. It was the doll. The doll she has seen before. The doll she hoped Xailah would get rid of. She had it before the wand and before the whole thing started. She spent too much time with it. Meenauh picked the doll up and her eyes widened in pure horror. The doll was a mini-copy of Xailah Alptraum, he best friend.

If it was a clue and a link, why didn't the manage to connect those links? How much time would pass before it strikes again? She was looking into the doll's empty eyes. No spark of consciousness. Deep empty eyes. What if there was a need to kill in that small doll? Would it abstain from killing?
She pondered another second before making her decision. She didn't turn to Xailah and just spoke from where she stood: "I am sorry, Xailah," she said and it seemed that she talked to the doll when she was actually talking to Xailah, "I am sorry," she said louder for her friend to hear her.
And she slipped the cloth version of Xailah into the Bluebell Flames to get rid of it once and forever.
She opened her eyes to look around, not looking at Xailah directly: "Okay, Xai, we need to find it," she said as cold as she could and actually to both her friend and Santario, and continued to search around, while passively listening to the continuation of the conversation about the Slytherin spiders.Interacting with @Xailah Alptraum and @Santario Martin
