Hexwizard Task 1: Mahoutokoro v Ilvermorny

It was pretty inevitable what were to happen there on that particular, one of three, game boards there in the Ballroom of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft of Wizardry on that fateful day. His team had fought valiantly and he felt no disappointment from any of them. They had put up with the pestering and the theatrics and shown themselves in the best sportsmanship-like ways and he was proud of them. All of them.

He looked over to Phyllis and knew that this was probably their last stand. If they'd get another round, it would be their opponents knocking them out one at a time. Miles just sort of wished that if that were to happen, it would happen quickly, because he didn't want to hear the show that the other side would most likely put on at their victory. They had already put on quite the show, at least in their eyes.

Miles reached out toward Phyllis, extending out a closed fist to her in order to initiate a fist bump, a sort of informal 'cheers' if one will.

Ginyami's attention was on the white king (Miles) and the white rook that the king had decided to try hiding behind (Iris) and thus he was unfortunately unable to dodge the Eagle Eye attack performed on him by the white knight (Phylicia). It was a direct hit with a staggering impact, but just before his nightmares began to take hold, Ginyami made one last attempt to attack with his own Eagele Eye as a final act of defiance. If he was going to go down now, it wouldn't be in vain, He planned to bring at least one other person down with him.

His sights, still set on the enemy king and rook, allowed him to hit both, though with more damage done to one than the other. Even if it might not have been the opponent, he would have liked to bring down between the two of them, at least he had managed to take out another piece. The rook was impacted much as he had been, and Ginyami laughed viciously even as his own nightmares began to consume him. Now that he had known what to expect, at least, it wasn't as terrible. He would simply have to leave the rest of the match to his capable teammates and he had every confidence that they would win.

Ginyami fell from his fading horse as he felt the darkness settle in, clouding his mind with negative thoughts and feelings that contrasted sharply with the confidence and sense of victory that had kept him going thus far. Was this what it felt like to die? Was this the terrible sensation that had overcome Valentin when he had been struck from his broom by lightning and sent crashing down to his doom?

Just as he was blacking out with such ponderings, he saw Hiro help him off the board and pull him over to the sidelines. Good old Hiro. Ginyami would have to make it up to him afterward for his assitance.

Aryaan (@Fang Hui-Ming) was likely resting easier now. They outnumbered Ilvermorny but they needed to finish them off, if they did not then they they would wear them down eventually. The last (wo)man standing was a tough one, the sort that could knew them up and spit them out if she got her hands on them.

Aryaan would hide behind Sara (f5). His safety hopefully assured.

Miles (@Simon Kincaid) has last all of his allies except for dear, durable Phylicia. he would slip behind the girl and push Iris' unconscious body out of the way. He just needed to take a few breaths, to regroup and figure this thing out.

Queen

Hadashi (@Dan Palmer) would be disappointed by Mile's swift movement as he took refuge and moved himself out of range of his attack. The boy was just living 'too long' for the Mahoutokoro student's liking. He would instead raise his scepter and cast Rebuke, a terrible darkness would escape from the hem of his dark gown and from the head of his scepter.

He would move towards them and if they were very unfortunate, they would be destroyed.

Knight

Ginyami (@Jack Burnett) failed to post in time so made no action. However, Chiaki (@Pax Zhang) was on the ball. they set their sights on the enemy King, Miles. He was in range, a fortuitous and potentially fatal moment for the Ilvermorny champion. A strange, uncanny glint in the Mahoutokoro student's eyes and he would attempt to inflict possibly a final nightmare on Miles.

That would smart... for both Miles and Chiaki who gave himself a dose of his own medicine. It would not matter, the suffering he would endure would be brief, yet the psychic assault would fell the champion where he stood. A valiant effort, he fought until the end. He would fall behind his defender into am unmoving slump (-177 HP), Phylicia would break away from the boy and see his felled form from the corner of her vision. It was over... she was the last standing, a bittersweet experience. She was the strongest. She was the last. But they lost and her friends were hurt.

Akira (@Avery Chen) and Christopher Runnels (@Bubba McGarry) would have taken his shot on Miles had he been in range, but as the enemy champion slipped away behind Phylicia. While Chiaki Hiroi was in desperate need of healing, they were out of range of the duo. The best Christopher could do was sort of attack Miles through his living shield, Phylicia.

It would be his first blow to land. On the exhausted and batter champion and his guardian. It was not enough to fell the teen, but it would come close. (26 health remaining) He almost had the felling blow, saving the best for last. He would, however, pave the path for Chiaki's victory.

Aryaan would slip behind Sara. Sara did not seem like the durable type but he was charged with being the champions living shield and he had done his duty well. Sara-rapid defended Aryaan from their current position

Mahoutokoro won - Miles was KO'd.
