The Garden of Eden
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Monday, 11th April; Grounds
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat sighed heavily as he looked at his reflection within the mirror kept in his room. His black colored armor shined under the dim lights from the candles in his room. He had been meticulously preparing for this moment. For hours, each buckle and strap of his elaborate ball attire was fastened with painstaking care which occupied a major part of his time. He was aware Siobhan was probably waiting for him in the garden, by now her patience was probably wearing thin.
The incident at Astro Tower remained fresh in his memory, lingering as another evidence of his unwillingness to be on time, however unintentional it might be. He couldn't really blame himself if she was expecting punctuality from his despite previous records. As the second hand of his pocket watch ticked away like a dream within his conscious, the inevitable truth dawned upon him; despite his best attempts to ignore the facts. His legs burned with urgency to move faster, but with his slightly heavier suit of armor, his feet felt as if they were made of lead. Resisting fast motion, Prat decided to ditch the armor for his legs, opting to keep a minimum amount for the aesthetics on his legs.
He had once again underestimated the time it would take to adorn himself in the finery that was expected for such an occasion. He quickened his pace even further, the rustle in his armor and clothes mirroring his anxiety of being late.
As Prat rushed through the entry towards garden, he was greeted by the sweet fragrance of flowers, yet they weren't enough to soothe his nerves. His eyes scanned the sea of opulently dressed guests in search of Siobhan. Soon he noticed a silhouette by the very Entrance he had rushed past. She was dressed in a simple looking dress that made the armor she wore over it seem even out of place. The stark contrast between her dress and pieces of armor immediately caught his attention.
He thought it best to keep his observation about her armor being the only notable aspect of her outfit to himself. The present time did not seem the best opportunity to add more to the tension that was already present between them. He quickened his pace, hoping the urgency in his stride would convey his apologetic nature more effectively than any words could. Sio's demeanor looked annoyed from Prat's view and he knew he had to tread carefully to make up for yet another blunder in his life.
As he came right in front of her, his gaze fell upon the crown of flowers delicately woven into her hair. The vibrant colors in them stood out in contrast to her hair against the backdrop of the garden they stood within. "Sio" he called out, voice a little raspy from the exhaustion and intertwined with sincerity and regret. "Your crown is very charming, did you make that yourself?" he spoke as an attempt to break the silence. "And your Dress looks lovely on you, i love what you've done with the armor." He offered his most charming smile, hoping to melt the ice formed around them.
His hand hovered in the air, "Thank you for waiting on me, but now that i'm here, would you grant me your first dance?"

Hogwarts and its damn themes. Mistletoe, pirates, and now princesses, kings, and knights, like the stories of olde - and every time, Manu had come wholly unprepared. For her first real ball and real visit to the Scottish castle, she'd at least packed a suit - dressing up was rule number one, of course, but wearing a dress once was enough for the entire school year in her humble opinion - with a black blazer and high-waisted black shorts emblazoned with matching bronze buttons, a grey tank top with black lace embellishments for underneath, and some dark sheer tights and pointed suede heels to bring her 5'6" to 5'9", but there was nothing quite worthy of matching the fairy-tale theme. Luckily for the Castelobruxo sixth-year, Hogwarts had plenty of accessories just lying about - well, lying was maybe an embellishment in and of itself, but those suits of armour weren't using them, were they? As such, a hefty sword in a thick makeshift sheath hung from the knight-hopeful's belt. If anyone asked where she got it, well... er... look over there! Hasty exit to come.
After dropping off her pen pal and friend, Aly, at the soirée, Manu made a detour towards the Garden of Eden. While dancing the night away with her English friend did sound quite enjoyable, Manu also knew from years of letter-writing that Aly's time at Hogwarts balls had been quite dangerous and illuminating, and she wanted to do some reconnaissance at the other area first. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like she'd be able to see the taverns, whatever those were, but a quick trip to the gardens whilst Aly flirted and funned her way around the soirée didn't seem like it would hurt. The sword-equipped carioca person from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil strode into the Garden with all the brazen comfort of someone with a weapon at her hip and a fear of just about nothing, her wand in her opposite pocket where she could easily reach it if prompted, though she was eager to use the sword if necessary. She scanned the outdoor area, taking in all of the sights and people in one fell swoop - drinks and fruits and pastries looking as delectable as Persephone's pomegranate, but more importantly, the patrons.
A few professors, or at least adults, stood chatting by some flowers; Manu ignored them, other than noting their presence in case of trouble, and continued to look. Several younger students milled about, which were also worthy of a general look-over, but once the Castelobruxo girl determined that none of them were actively in trouble or being mistreated by others, she moved on (even though two of the kids @Siobhan McCarty, @Prat Pass were dressed as matching knights, which did pique Manu's interest for a fraction of a second). Finally, her eyes alighted upon an inordinately tall masqued figure hanging out on the perimeter, observing much like she was, with his hand upon a sword much like her own resting at his hip.
Mm. A fellow knight.
Boldness was something Manu had never quite lacked. She sidled up to the masqued figure, who seemed to be dressed like a wolf in green and trying quite hard to blend into the green foliage behind him, and settled into a similar position to his alongside him, with her hand resting on the pommel of the sword at her hip and her gaze scanning over the gardens in front of them. After standing there for a moment, she said - without looking to him, as if it were for no one in particular - "The weapon that you have is quite nice. You used it to slay the wolf whose face you wear?" If the wolf-giant looked down at her, he would find a lazy grin decorating her face, halfway between serious and teasing. "At the least, we are very well prepared if we need to defend any one of the young royalty that are prancing here tonight."

Siobhan had opened her mouth to retort back that this time she was on time and he was late but then Prat had complimented her. She was nothing if not a polite person and given that he was trying to be civil to her, she supposed that she could try and be kind to him. He had complimented almost every aspect about her that he could see and she looked towards the ground at her outfit. It was so very plain- and his reeked of money and fashion. She would have felt very out of place standing next to him if it wasn't for the fact that both of them were wearing armor. Though his was black it seemed befitting of him to wear. She didn't tend to wear black unless it was her school robes.
"Thank you... It's a- nevermind. Yes I did make my crown." She muttered as she strung her fingers through some of her hair and looked away from him for a moment. She wasn't shy- of course not- she was just embarrassed. Everyone here was dressed in such opulence and radiance and didn't need to worry about outward scars (even if she had recieved a letter informing her of the date of her check up to have the rest of her scars erased.) It was just a lot and it was uncomfortable, but the garden around her was bringing her a sense of comfort. As though every individual flower was crocheting their petals together and enveloping her in a loving hug, soothing her from her worries.
When Prat offered her his hand and the option of a dance she looked at the vague shape that was his hand, willing her eyes to focus enough so that she could actually accept it without grabbing his arm or the air. To be safe, she just nodded and hesitantly placed her hand out in the air for him to pick up. Since he could see at least.
"I don't know how to dance." She mumbled as the pink flush of her face increased with a blush of embarrassment rather than her natural rosecea. She knew how to dance when it came to folk stuff and when it was time for Solstice. But that was bonfire dancing. It wasn't proper or prim and- well. Okay it just wasn't going to be up to pureblood standards. It was very very muggle.
She'd really like to know where all this insecurity was coming from- goodness gracious. When had any of this ever bothered her before?

The Garden of Eden

11 April - the evening of the Spring Soirée
imon had offered her his arm, just as he had done for every Ball they had attended, and just like every time previous, there was just something so gallant about it that it still charmed her as if he were doing it for the very first time. They were definitely no longer a “new” couple, but AngelFyre was thrilled to know that the bloom had not faded from their happy little match. If anything, it had only seemed to grow stronger and more vibrant.
As they were walking up from the cellars, she could hear the musical refrains from the Great Hall echoing out into the Corridors, and her excitement grew. Funny how music, and smells, acted like trails of breadcrumbs to one’s memory centers. It reminded her of the music from their very first Ball. Everything about that Ball was perfect to her way of thinking. They were “new” then. Newly minted as official just an hour or so before it started as a matter of fact, and it was the only Ball since her attendance at Hogwarts that had had no Big Bad Evil try to destroy it all, not to mention those attending. They were all due for a break, and maybe tonight lightning would strike again… by not striking… and that same magic could be recaptured, not only for she and Simon, but for everyone here who just wanted to enjoy a school dance with their friends and loved ones. She was now wishing she had made that wish at the Well of Four Beasts the night Simon promposed to her, but she decided a prayer would be more effective, so she leaned into that as she stepped lightly up the stairwell with the fellow who still took her breath away, day in and day out.
She chuckled as she could hear Colin inside, no surprise there, but Simon quite confidently squeezed her arm with his hand and walked them right past it out to the Grounds. It surprised her at first, but she did not care where they went or what they did, so long as they did it together.
Her boy had made a fine choice in bypassing the Great Hall. The late afternoon was still ambling lazily towards dusk, so birds could be heard chirping all around them, and it was light enough, still, to be able to see the splendor in the transformation of the Grounds. His newly minted girlfriend would have been worried and concerned about her dapper dhampir being out in the sun, but this wiser girlfriend had learned a thing or three million in their years together. First and foremost amongst them being to trust her boy. He knew his limits on such things. Lord how she must have tried his patience with her worrying and fussing over him, but he took it like the patient, loving fellow he was then and still was. Even so, she still had sunscreen with her wherever they went as you just never knew what might happen.
The music and laughter and raucousness from the Great Hall was somewhat dimmed, but every now and then moments of it were carried to them on a gentle breeze. As they approached the entrance to the Garden of Eden setting, AngelFyre had to giggle as Simon brought out his English of Yore, and told her she had a lovely face… or maybe he meant her overall look for the event. Either way, she nodded graciously and took a regal, slight curtsy in acknowledgement of his compliment and attempt at setting the scene with his verbiage. It would be rude to leave him hanging, so she put forth her own effort in her English of Yore-So-Not-Even-Going-To-Be-Close-To-Getting-This-Right-So-Just-Have-Fun-With-It speak.
“I thank thee, my lord. Wouldst thou think it too bold if thy paramour…” and her eyes immediately flashed to his as she could feel her cheeks crimsoning with embarrassment, “uhm… uhmm… if thy...thy….” If thy what, AF?!? Had she really just referred to herself as his paramour? That quaking rumble from the east was the sound of her father fainting. AngelFyre nervously shifted her weight to her left leg and continued to stammer about for words much like a hunted animal in quicksand might flounder about for release. Simon's eyes dialed in, enjoying her predicament and not offering any help, only waiting to see, quite bemused by the whole thing, how she would free herself. Seeing the twinkle in his eyes, she found her footing, metaphorically speaking, on firm ground and remembered that she was bold and he well knew it.
No longer embarrassed…or at least… not quite as embarrassed… she forged on, owning the title. “Wouldst thou think it too bold if thy paramour lamented thy wardrobe choice this eve? And thy own come to ponder such.” A playful smile was lifting the corners of her mouth as she nodded in the direction they were headed. “The Garden of Eden. Wouldst thou thinketh to be in the company of faeries in such a divine place? Nay. I thinketh not, tho lo! Thy lady," Lady! Why did she not think of that 30 seconds earlier? "must confess that her goodly and fair lord doth radiate his winged brilliance in such abundance as to shame the sun into retiring long before the moon is due to ascend to its place in the heavens.”
AngelFyre stopped for a moment to really look at Simon. He was always handsome, but man oh man, the boy looked particularly striking tonight… she was really thinking smoking hot!... in his faerie outfit. She cleared her throat and for good or ill, continued. “Yet, methinks our raiment, whilst glorious, couldst have been truer to such a garden had we availed ourselves of its bounty and adorned ourselves with…” and she leaned over to him to whisper breathily in his ear, “fig leaves.”
She smiled against the side of his cheek as she felt him tense and shiver just a bit, and she knew fact certain it was not because he was cold. When he pulled back just a little, she finished with, “Thou hast been known to wear less in public if thine own memory recalls.” She continued to stare at him, saying, without saying aloud, “And it recalls very well, thankyeverymuch.”
No one else would have noticed it most likely, but she had gotten to him. She knew she had and that was enough. He did not respond directly and his poker face was working overtime, but they continued on towards the entrance. They each were given a beautiful dance card, and told that everyone they would dance with must have their name written on their dance card or scandal would befall them. A moment of insecurity hit her as she knew Simon could easily fill his with a stream of girls wishing to see his name on their dance cards, and hers would be a sad, barren parchment of a landscape with no names but for one… his. But his was the only name that mattered to her. What his card would look like by the end of the evening also mattered to her. It was then, maybe sensing her uneasiness, he relieved her of her fear. He wanted no other dance partner but her. She smiled and nodded, grateful he knew her so well.
"You know I feel exactly the same," and she slipped her hand into his and squeezed it three times.
As they moved further into the venue, he led them out of the way to look more closely at the dance cards. From just inside the entrance ahead of them, AngelFyre heard a female voice call out to him and to someone else called Av. It was Lyanna, and she waved to Simon and rushed over to say a few words to him, but just as quickly headed out. AngelFyre chuckled. She was used to it. Simon was always the main event, and really, she could not blame anyone for focusing only on him.
Turning her attention back to the dance card, she had a brilliant idea. “I say instead of a long long list of Simon Kincaids and AngelFyre McCubbins inking our cards like a line of two dimensional dominoes, we fill the spaces with our nicknames. Mine will be easy because I have so many for you. You are going to have to work harder since you have an affinity for my actual name. Might be time to get creative tonight, Mr. Kincaid,” and she arched an eyebrow at him, challenging him to do just that knowing full well he was more than up to the challenge.
“I know food and drink are usually the very things to stay away from at these events, but I am both hungry and thirsty,” and she tugged his hand gently and guided him over to the feasting tables, which largely seemed to be desserts. It looked beautiful, but not rounded out protein wise. She knew there would be little here he would want to eat, if anything, but she hungrily reached for a plate and took a peach pastry and some grapes. “Maybe there is heartier fare in the Great Hall? We can check that out later perhaps, or sooner, if you are actually feeling peckish?” AngelFyre then looked at the drinks and was surprised by the offerings, laughing somewhat bemused. All were red. Interesting.
“Simon, love. Given where we find ourselves, I think I want some apple juice. Do you think imbibing apple juice, in the Garden of Eden, is likely to bring about a whole new downfall of humanity at the hands of yet another female?" and before he could answer, she noticed that the only apple beverage was alcoholic. “Seriously?” Her eyes scanned the tables yet again to make certain she had not missed just plain apple juice.
Momentary disappointment swept over her that such an obvious sight gag was denied her, so she instead reached for the pomegranate juice, happily mollified. “The apple juice would have been playfully funny, but I guess if you want those at least twelve kids, I can use all the help I can get on the fertility front, so pomegranate juice it shall be,” and she smiled at him, not even feeling like a pretense of embarrassment was on the horizon as the subject of their future brood was territory well trodden by both.

The Garden of Eden
MODERATION POST — ROUND 1.
Image generated by AI.As the temperature begins to dip with the sun transcending on it's descent away from the glimmering skies, we note that our dear patrons in attendance may have taken the theme a tad too far. Few guests arriving in a coat of arms, equipped with swords, ready to join the next battalion out of the Highlands. Would it be worth reminding our esteemed patrons that the Garden of Eden serves as a relaxation point, prying our dear guests away from all duties and merely presenting them with a good time? Or perhaps, previous events which once occurred left our noble patrons fearsome that terror would soon arise.
Warned prior of prying eyes, a foreign student @Piérre Marchonné [Romeo Giovanni Marchonné] appears on guard, drinking a mysterious substance unbeknownst to him may old aid at keeping the animal at bay. Whilst esteemed professors mingle and perhaps stop a rogue student from leading astray, perhaps desiring to wreak havoc within the alluring Garden of Eden. Yet, the most bewildering act of all, @Adam Boucher alleging to be dancing with ghouls amidst broad daylight — the act alone almost being punishable with exile.
With the sun continuing to transcend into civil twilight, the silver elements on the banquet table begins to glimmer, appearing vastly more alluring and inviting to all patrons in attendance. The once cool and warm air invites a light breeze, heightening the sense of those masking their true self. In the distance where the forest begins, light footsteps can be heard to very few, black beaded eyes gaze into the distance, observing our patrons in mass groups, cautiously determining their next move. To others, distant twig snaps can be heard, making the foreign presence aware that they too, may be subjected to head turns at their mere presence — despite remaining hidden away behind the gloomy trees of the Forbidden Forest. As the numbers of esteemed patrons continues to rise then dip like a mathematical graph, the bard hymns continue to chime through the transformed garden; the centre stoned tiles awaiting further movement from ongoers.
Permission granted by CoCM professor @Akeem Toussaint for the inclusion of a creature(s) lurking in the forest nearby.

Monday, 11th April; Grounds
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat stood there, taking in the overall features of her attire, the way her hand crafted crown gave a faint glow of light from all the sources scattered across the garden. Her discomfort seemed palpable on her skin, even if she attempted to mask it. Prat wasn't sure if this was embarrassment, her usual nature changed to shyness on a random day or whether it was a third party he had no particular knowledge of. Prat remained beside her as his eyes flickered over the vibrant array of guests, each one dressed more ostentatiously than the last.
As he offered his hand towards her, Prat assumed the signs of an internal struggle when she simply pointed her hand out, as opposed to reaching for his own previously outstretched hand. Was she about to deny him the very first thing he had asked of her? A sigh of relief came when Siobhan gave him an imperceptible nod, one he could've nearly missed were it not for the extension of her own arm, a response which was clear enough sign for him to proceed ahead.
"I don't know how to dance."
He stepped closer, his piercing gaze fixed at her as he moved ahead to grasp her slender fingers with the gentlest of his touches. His grip had suddenly turned to it's most firm yet comforting stance, hoping to ease and alleviate some of her visible unease.
"Don't worry, I do."
He murmured reassuringly, eyes making continued contact with hers as he began moving towards the dance floor. "Just follow my lead," he whispered within her earshot. Hand on her waist and shoulder, his touch soft yet insistent, he gently guided the girl in silver into a basic waltz step--- right, left, right, left. Prat's eyes searched hers for signs of distress, noticing or rather ignoring any if found. He focused on the beats of music as he demonstrated the first few steps with exaggerated care. This was to give her ample time to mimic his movements before they went all in together. Prat was quite excited at the prospect of teaching someone else, he had loathed the process when his parents forced him learn all of this fancy dance with no moment of joy during these classes.
After giving her a quick rundown he decide it was time to see how much of a quick study she could be. "Now when i press here," he said as he slightly pushed against the small of her back, "you take a step back with your left foot, and when I pull, you come forward with your right, capisce?" He observed her, possibly waiting for a nod as he looked for a response to all the teaching he had imparted in these brief moments.

Cursa had decided to forgo the ball. He didn't have a date or anything, so no one to dance with. He rolled his eyes. Colin was probably in the Great Hall snogging every girl that came within twelve feet of him. What an absolute dog! Still, Cursa smiled. He'd gotten to know Colin much better over the last few months. He was hardly the idiot that his little brothers made him out to be. In fact, he'd been working on a plan. Alex and Angus, Colin's younger brothers that went to Ilvermorny, had been nothing but annoying --- no. Not annoying. Little asswipes is what they were. They seemed to be doing nothing by spreading false stories about Colin and Liam. Sure, the Scottish twins were loopy as a ball of yarn, but they weren't evil or anything.
He'd have to talk with Colin and Liam some time whilst he was here in Scotland. It was time to put an end to Alex and Angus's foolishness. Once and for all. Cursa looked around. Everything seemed alright. Still, Hogwarts was a weird place. Somehow it felt to Cursa that they were all being watched. Like something, or someone, was hiding in the shrubbery. His fingers itched and he found his hand searching for his wand. Just in case. The memory of nearly being blown up last time he was here still weighed on his heart. It was all he could do to convince his parents to let him come back. At least there were a couple adults around in case something did go sideways...
There were certainly a lot of cute girls here, he thought. It was really no wonder Colin was so into snogging. He watched as one girl entered the place. She wore a pretty dress and had blue eyes. She seemed a bit nervous. He watched as she sniffed at the flowers and went over to check out the food.
An older boy was also there. Looked more a wolf than Colin did! He had scars like Colin's too. Wicked. Cursa wondered... Nah. Couldn't be. Not everyone with scars could possibly be a werewolf, right? And there was a younger boy too. This one he knew. Casey. Fellow Ilvermorny student. Definitely no wereowlf, that one! He watched as the other kids went about enjoying themselves.
Aaaannnddd...
Of course.
It was bound to happen sooner or later!
OwoooOOooOoOOoooo!!
A faint howling drifted down from the Courtyard of the castle.
Cursa knew that howl. Intimately. His ears had been bombarded by it numerous times already! Any minute now, Colin McCoire's bare feet would be thudding against the earth of the garden, his kilt flapping about! And surely on his arm would be whatshername? Casey's best friend. Emily!
Cursa shook his head. He knew Colin had a big heart. He knew that Colin had fallen in love with this Emily. Colin had even actually written him a letter about it! What a doofus! He just hoped Emily was prepared for all the gushing! Cursa looked around again. He wondered where the blue eyed girl went. There were certainly plenty of cute girls out here! Maybe there was something about girls after all?
Open to interactions!

Playing as Isadora Vilaca——
With the vast garden-like ball growing ever so greatly. Isadora stood near the sweets table, her crystal blue eyes scanning the crowd of professors and students that seemed to be growing livelier with each passing moment. The sounds of laughter and chatter rang in Isadora’s sensitive ears. Shifting her feet slightly the young girl seemed to grow queasy. Maybe it was due to the full moon that was approaching the next day. Making the girl seem a bit lethargic and tired yet she still decided to come and participate in this ball once more.
Adjusting her light brown dress Isadora sighed heavily as she turned around grabbing another strawberry pastry and felt the palm of her hands begin to sweat. Her ears slowly seemed to ring with the chatter and voices echoing around her. Shakily Isadora ate the strawberry pastry quickly before turning away from the table of massive sweets. It seemed alluring to the young girl but she also did not feel it was right to continue shoveling food in her mouth after all it was not very ladylike.
Quietly Isadora weaved around the slow growing crowd noting how many students seemed to be getting into the spirit, a few dancing, some looking rather odd while others seemed to be happy.
Isadora sighed as she moved closer to the edge of the garden, kneeling down glancing at a bush of roses and other arrays of flowers. Taking in the sweet scent of the freshly blooming flowers Isadora felt her nerves slowly ease and relax. The gentle breeze seemed to make the sweet freshly blooming scent wafted around the young girl as she knelt down her satchel resting neatly against her side.
Slowly Isadora sat down on the cool grass, her crystal blue eyes examining the flowers that seemed to be in front of her. From the Rose bush, to a few freshly blossoming marigolds, the array of flowers sent a wave of calmness around the girl's swirling mind.
Hogwarts still seemed a bit much a place full of mysteries and things that could potentially be fatal and life threatening, but right now at this moment it seemed rather normal. Which was strange cause normal never lasted at this school.
Adjusting her satchel Isadora pulled out her journal tracing the leather bound cover, her crystal blue eyes scanning the intricate design of the cover quietly. She realized she forgot her ink and quill back at the campground where the foreign schools were staying.
As the young girl stared softly at the cover of the journal she sighed before placing it back into her satchel for safe keeping. Once placed back into her satchel Isadora turned her attention back to the array of flowers in front of her.
Feeling her ears slightly burn from all of the chatter and loudness that seemed to follow she rubbed her ears gently. Even though it would be almost two years since the accident the young girl was still not comfortable with the heighten senses the hearing seemed to over stimulate her more with each little click and clack from silverware to the high pitch laughters even the melody of the birds singing there sings seemed to be deafening some days to the young girl.
Sighing softly Isadora glanced around the garden once more taking in the sights in front of her. The growing crowd seemed to make the young girl nervous. Though among the crowd of students lingered Professors as well. Isadora blinked glancing around more frowning slightly. Failing to catch glimpse of her Tantie or even her cousins.
The young girl silently hoped that someone would show up she truly missed being around her family Castelobruxo was rather lonely without Alphonse to speak to while she had to admit it could always be much worse for the young girl she had to admit that herself anything could happen to try and falter her mood.
Shaking her head Isadora glanced downwards at the array of flowers in front of her slowly plucking a few flowers weaving the stems together to slowly make a flower crown. She had nothing to do at the moment and getting lost In the array of colorful flowers seemed to help calm the girls nerves as if something could really ruin the peace.![]()
