Rina Kusakabe was actually born in Tokyo, but after a year she was born, her parents moved to Osaka and raised her there. Her house was surrounded by forests, rivers, and old shrines that had stood for centuries. The Kusakabe family was nothing more than a warm and loving household to the ordinary eye. Her father, Kensei Kusakabe, worked mostly from home and often disappeared on “business trips” after sunset, while her mother, Yuki Kusakabe, took care of the house. The truth, however, was far more magical. Kensei was a vampire who had long abandoned the violent customs of his kind, choosing to live peacefully among humans after meeting Yuki, a half-blood witch who was one of the top graduates at Mahoutokoro. The home was built on mutual trust, patience, and genuine love, as they valued kindness above their blood ties.

Rina had learned she was different from other people. Kensei taught her to blend in with humans, keeping her claws and fangs hidden at a young age. It seemed a bit strict to her, especially when she was really hungry. Her fangs always extended automatically, no matter how much she tried to hide them. Still, she grew up fine, innocent, and kind as the family wished her to be. When she grew older, she noticed her father looked noticeably different from most Japanese people, and she had never met her grandparents from both sides of her family. Yet, she was too hesitant to ask, as neither Kensei nor Yuki ever spoke about their relatives. Kensei had never once mentioned his Transylvanian vampire bloodline, and Yuki never once brought her to visit her grandparents during holidays. She never realized that everything her parents did was meant to protect her from the hatred that existed beyond the walls of their peaceful home. Neither side of Rina’s family had ever been accepting of Dhampirs. Kensei’s vampire family saw them as an impure deviation from the vampire bloodline, while Yuki’s family held their own prejudices against those born between magical and non-human bloodlines. Though despite all the secrets she always wondered about, Rina still respected and followed her parents’ way of teaching.

After the small signs of her magical potential became impossible to ignore, she reached the age of seven. She joined Mahoutokoro’s Day Program, where she took her first steps into the magical world alongside other young witches and wizards. Rina had no trouble making friends, but she never became truly close to anyone. Particularly, her parents had strongly emphasized that she not speak about their family or ask too many questions about their past. She was expected to return home on time and rarely invited friends over, always giving them some harmless excuse instead. Rina did not fully understand why she had so many rules to follow, but she knew there were parts of herself that she could never tell anyone about. Perhaps that was why, despite being cheerful and friendly to everyone around her, she never had a best friend.

Darius Moldovan was born into the old vampire lineage in Transylvania. The family's homeland was located somewhere in the mountains, isolating themself from the city. The Moldovans strongly believed the purity of the vampire bloodline must be preserved through vampire only, and they viewed humans as their food supply. Darius was taught to be ruthless at such a young age, but never insisted on that cruelty and refused to carry on the family's ideals, so he left home when he became an adult, cutting off all contact with them. He worked as an antique inspector, traveling to several places before settling again in Tokyo, Japan.

One day, he met Yuki, who usually visited his favorite local food shop, where he often stayed every weekend. The two met by chance, but it was love at first sight. They both were very cautious at first, as Kensei did not want anyone to know he was a vampire. Yet, somehow, he could not help but always find an excuse to see her. Yuki knew he was no ordinary man, but she treated him like a normal person. As they gradually learned each other's personalities, they fell deeper in love until one day Yuki trusted him enough to reveal her secret that she was a witch, then Darius confessed after her that he was a vampire. They grew closer after and began to explore their genuine feelings for each other, then decided to live together as a family.

Two years after their marriage, they had a daughter, Rina, born as a dhampir. Darius never knew the Moldovans had never lost sight of him. They quietly watched him from afar, hoping one day he would come back to the family, yet everything changed when Rina was born. The birth of a dhampir child was a secret the Moldovans had never wanted to discover. “A child of the heir of the Moldovans was a Dhampir.” If the words spread out that fact, it would bring shame to the family name. So, they sent a formal letter to Darius and Yuki, offering a home and forgiving him for leaving the house. They stated that they were happy to include Rina in their heritage if his family agreed to move and settle in Transylvania. Darius knew their intentions were a fraud. The offer had nothing to do with love and forgiveness. They just wanted to hide Rina's existence because she was a potential threat to the Moldovan’s reputation. Darius had never been at ease ever since. He feared for his daughter’s safety, so he changed his name to Kensei Kusakabe, moving away with Yuki to a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Osaka. The city was peaceful, surrounded by trees, rivers, and old shrines. They raised Rina there, keeping her away from unnecessary attention. Rina was taught to respect and blend in with humans, but also to be careful about whom she placed her trust in. As they were keeping a low profile, the family was living peacefully once again.

Kensei knew that Dhampirs could live on ordinary diets, but he remained cautious. Having grown up among vampires, he understood how easily an inexperienced Dhampir could lose control of their instincts if their cravings were ignored for too long. Rather than taking that risk, he introduced Blood Pops into Rina’s diet from an early age. He believed it was safer to satisfy those instincts in a safe and controlled manner than allow them to express unexpectedly, especially if doing so could expose their family’s secret and draw the attention of the Moldovans, his old family, once again.

Over the years, what began as a precaution turned into a habit. Rina used to having a Blood Pop every day, skipping one left her feeling restless, distracted, and incomplete. She could still function perfectly well without it, but she would often find herself easily frustrated over things, thinking about the familiar taste until she finally had one. It was more like her favorite comfort food. Craving it was like she craved sugar.

One summer evening, when she was five years old, Rina was fascinated by many things, and one of them was the small paper lanterns with beautiful patterns painted across their surface. Yuki happily bought it for her, saying it would be perfect for their home. After returning to her house, Rina excitedly helped her mother decorate it, holding it against the wall. Then, the lantern burst into a gentle golden light suddenly. Brighter and brighter. The room fell silent before her parents exchanged their smiles, proud of their only beloved daughter who had just shown the first sign of her first instance of magic.

Reason for pending:
- First uses of magic should be entirely accidental and cannot include intention or a "wish" for something to happen. Please remove this.
- You state in your encyclopedia that Rina has an "unsettling aura". This is an ability that Dhampirs get in third year, not in second. Please remove this.
- Your encyclopedia is missing the history that you have written here in this application. Currently, you have the dhampir application where your history should be. You should have BOTH the dhampir portion and the history of Rina in your encyclopedia.

Nationality: Japanese
History:

Haruka Yuki Rin was born to a Muggle father and a Witch mother, who passed away shortly after giving birth to her. Her father, Yoshio Toshi Rin did not know anything about her mother's magical status.

He later married Yukiko Mio Huna who became Haruka's stepmother when she was just 4. Despite not being her birth mother, Yukiko treated Haruka as her own child. She later got a younger stepsister named Sakura Hana Rin who was 5 years younger to Haruka.

Haruka had a nice loving family that she was always happy with. She got along really well with Sakura, who adored her older sister. By the age of 8, Haruka had completely forgotten about her original birth mother Maruka Emi Watabe.

Not knowing anything about the magical world, Haruka lived happily in Muggle Japan, attending Hiroshima University Affiliated Fukuyama School, where she was often considered one of the most popular and smartest students.

They lived in 〒150-0001 Tokyo-to, Shibuya-ku, Jingumae 2-3-4 house. Haruka's best friend Tadashi Mio Nana also lived very close to their house and they met everyday, either in school or by going to each other's houses. Tadashi was also very close to Sakura.

They also had two pet cats named Rei and Chi. Rei was a naughty, cute Korat cat and Chi was an adorable, lazy and chill Ragdoll. They also owned two hamsters named Chibi and Neko along with one pet Shiba Inu puppy named Asahi.

Their large family was very popular in their neighborhood. Everybody knew them and got along with them very well. All their pets were very cute and open to new people. And life was fun, happy and normal. That is, until Haruka had her First Instance of Magic and a few days later, on her 11th birthday, there lay a Hogwarts envelope on their kitchen table.

First Magic:

Haruka's first Instance of Magic happened at the age of 10, just a few days before her 11th birthday. While she was at school, a group of children walked over to her and her best friend, Tadashi who were walking together and the leader of the group, as it seemed, tripped Tadashi over with his foot. Tadashi's book bag fell and her stuff fell down everywhere and she herself looked hurt and in pain. Haruka was furious. She began shouting at the bully (who was apparently a new student) and suddenly, all the lockers nearby opened, and a lot of books came flying at them, hitting their heads. While the bullies were in pain and trying to figure out what was going on, Haruka managed to pick up Tadashi and her supplies, make a rude hand gesture at the bullies and run away.

Name: Madoka Omitsu
PC Account Name: Jay Valkyrie
Year: second year

Status: Pureblood
Residence: Kyoto, Japan
Nationality: Japanese
History:
Reducio
Madoka had quite a normal childhood, she was quiet and peaceful. Ignorant of everything outside her perfect little magical world. Her dad was a Magizoologist so she was exposed to different animals and had seen quite a lot of the world with his travels, she has been to quite a few countries and knows languages of many of them. She hasn't seen or associated much with muggles and even though she knows quite a bit about the wizarding world she doesn't know anything about the muggle world, whenever she travelled it was only in wizarding communities, she never really faced the muggle world and she kept to whatever wizarding family she was visiting.

The Omitsu family are quite friendly with many other wizarding family around the world, they have friends in many countries that Madoka's dad made while travelling for work and they kept in touch, this has made their family quite well known and powerful but all that came with consequences

Growing up in the Omitsu family wasn't always the best. Because of the connections and the power they had they had to keep up the standards to make sure that they could keep the power by showing that they were better, there were always family members being rude or pressuring Madoka to do better in her studies to get her grades up before going to school but Madoka handled the pressure quite well until her dad died when she was seven years old.

The official report says he died mysteriously but Madoka is almost positive someone or something killed him on one of his trips to study a new magical creature in France, Madoka had pleaded to come along but he shut it down quite firmly and was very tense before he left.

After he left Madoka had dreams of death and a horrible feeling something would happen to him and after the news got to the Omitsu family about his passing, she became obsessed with investigating and she kept having the recurring dream about his death that she thought might be clues. Madoka was neglecting her schoolwork and only focusing on that. Until she was about nine she gave up when it all came to nothing.

Her mum, Noriko coped with the loss very differently, she became colder and more reserved towards Madoka, letting the house elves take care of her daughter while she shut herself in her study and worked.

Eventually Noriko met a French muggle named Elliot and the two got married, soon enough Elliot had changed the family completely, like a toxic virus infecting the already broken family, he was harsher and pushed Madoka to do more schoolwork and learn more magic. He was also a liar, he lied about being a muggle to everyone except Noriko and Madoka.

When she was five years old, Madoka was outside playing with a butterfly, chasing it mainly in the garden and she grabbed it, snapping one of its wings. Madoka, not realizing what she had done, put it onto a rock, hoping it would fly away but when it didn't she realized what she had done and picked it up, climbing a tree all the way to the top.

When she got there she reached up to the sky and held up the butterfly and it's wing healed so it took off into the sky. As we all know butterflies have very tragic lives and for the rest of its short one it stayed around Madoka and often landed on her shoulder and sat there for a while, almost as if it was watching over the young girl

Madoka had always been a kind child and had always listened to whatever came her way, she also noticed things, things that others wouldn't or couldn't. Her mum and dad noticed this and thought of it as a sign of her being a Seer but decided to leave it, in the hopes it wouldn't be true, as it would ruin their reputation but that isn't what really mattered to them (up until later that is) what they really cared about was their daughters chances of ever going to wizarding school with this ability.

Madoka enjoyed learning about her family history, her parents didn't want her to because of some of the things it entailed and had in it but nothing could stop Madoka from reading whatever and whenever she wanted, even if someone had tried to hide it. Soon after she found the more horrid parts of her families history she stopped looking into it, scared for herself and what would happen to her, only going back to it like a bad addiction after she first started at Mahoutokoro did she pick up researching her own family's past again.

The Omitsu family had quite a few seers in the last few centuries or so and they way they had been treated in the family had been awful for the past seers who had quite evil things happen to them so they could not tell the future to their family or 'ruin' anything and the burden of the future would fall on their heads alone. Madoka, having known all this ignored the first signs of her ability, passing it off as some random coincidences and ignoring the child's obvious signs of power.

Madoka had always shown weird signs like having 'bad' or 'dangerous' feelings and then something bad happening around her and when she got older she started to have 'fits' where she would start crying for hours but they increased in their intensity especially after her dad died. She never remembered anything about them afterwards and that was when her mum started to understand and accept that her daughter must be the next Omitsu Seer and that scared her, it would ruin her daughters future and if anyone else heard about it she wouldn't have any sort of life, not in the Omitsu family at least.

Something else that was weird about her is that she always liked to know things, even as a young child, she liked to know how things worked, when things happened, she needed to know the why about everything, she always needed an answer to why and reasons for everything. Everything. So even as a child she had habits that may link to her having some sort of powers, at least to the people around her even if she didn't see it, thinking it was normal until her mum told her otherwise, urgently telling her why she needed to hide her powers from the world because they were different.

After seeing how scared her mother was, Madoka hid her power from everyone. Thinking it was bad or evil.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school?
Reducio
The Omitsu family has had a few seers in their family line, about five throughout the last eight hundred years and they don't have too much knowledge about any of them except for an old book that each successor has written in.

On top of all that there were many old traditions for their earlier seers that they have records of, one of which being cutting their tongues out so that they couldn't tell anyone of their visions to help keep balance but those traditions were abandoned a long time ago.

Since schools didn't accept people with a special race or ability Noriko hid her daughters ability ever since she found out, being the only alive person who ever knew of Madoka's ability. After Madoka started to have visons Noriko firmly told her to never tell anyone about her power and Madoka, being a young child, listened to her mother.

On the open day at Mahoutokoro, Madoka kept to herself not talking at all out of fear that someone might know about her power for any reason. Being a seven year old girl she was very paranoid

Question. Can I use what I wrote here for my special ability application?
mod answer: No, because you are in the correct place to write the special ability application. PC's require to do it in a thread, but INPC like this only have to write it in their first registration form. So you don't have to do any copy pasting
PENDING - 11 Sept, Sako
(i) We must know the real death of this characters father, please explain in a footnote or in the history. This character doesn't need to know what happened but we do. Keep in mind as a pureblood he generally has access to many medical remedies and can usually only be killed through magical means.
(ii) Could you explain a little bit why the stepdad lied about being a muggle and how that could be? Did he stop using magic and left the wizarding community? If he remaried a pureblood, it was likely that they came back to the same community. How would people not recognise him?
(iii) butterflies do live tragically short lives! However this FIOM gives off intentional ( wanting to heal the butterfly by holding it to the sky ), and too powerful magic (essentially bringing a dead butterfly back to life ). Additionally animals cannot be controlled and would not have landed on her shoulder to be her guardian.
(iv) Minor things to change
a) by open day at Mahou, do you mean Day school where students are allowed to attend school before the age of 11? That would allign more with the age you stated later in the paragraph ( 7 years old)
b) Keep in mind inpcs schools now do accept special races and abilities. by the time they were in mahou, it was likely to be accepting. You can still roleplay this character paranoid and scared about being found out a seer, of course. Just keep in mind it is accepting now. I need you to remove 'Since schools didn't accept people with a special race or ability"
(v) Stats are not alligned in ency and application, please ensure all the stats are the same
