Kevin walked into Magical Menagerie to a mixed scent of animals and happiness. The room seemed a bit dusty but of course there are so many creatures in the area and Diagon Alley is not exactly the brightest and most delightful place to spend your days. He goes up to the shop keep and asks hopefuly, "If I wanted an intelligent pet to fit my personality, where would I look?" As soon as the words escaped his mouth he looked over and saw the owl section. Of course! Owls are wise, clever, beautiful, and some of the smartest animals a wizard could ever wish to own. That seems like the perfect pet for him. Though he wishes he could own an actual raven, an owl will do just fine. He goes over to them and reads up on the different species of owls. Although there is so many to pick, he wants to have a barn owl. It is a common species of owl but is also one of the smartest breeds of them all, he would rather one choose him though than he choose it. This way the pet is accepting of its new owner and then they can have a great time learning and growing together.

Owls; wise creatures and fairly common pets among the people of this wizarding world. Well they seemed common, Xailah had yet to meet a wizard who didn't own an owl. Xailah wasn't at Magical Menagerie for an owl though.

She had been browsing a small book shelf for a book on Thestrals, she found the bat-winged creatures absolutely fascinating, resulting in a strong desire to learn more about the creatures. Alas, she was unable to find what she was looking for, so she wandered about the shop, admiring the strange creatures that they had available for purchase.

She was on her way out of the store, until she felt something tugging on her shirt sleeve. She looked down to see a small Niffler reaching through the bars of its cage- in a attempt to take one of the buttons off of Xailahs black and white, Victorian-style shirt. She shook the small creatures paws off of her sleeve, but then she turned her attention to something else. A dark haired boy looking at owls had caught her eye. Normally she wouldn't try to take up a conversation with a stranger, but the boys indecisiveness intrigued her. "Owls are nice pets I guess, I honestly would prefer a raven or a crow, or maybe even a small dragon of sorts..." She said as she strolled over to the boy "But like I said, owls are nice as well. I like the ones that look as if they have little ears. I believe they're called 'Horned Owls'." She purred with contentment.

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....
