Dying Love day Flowers errand s o l o

The continuous love day errands never failed to amuse Hanako. With efforts to make Valentine's day more memorable, it was such a waste that all these tea parties and flower picking weren't for him. He was, after all, born on the day the seemed to make everyone gushy and frolicky.

Valentine's day, 14th of February. While being amused at how much people go through such length to get Hogwarts in the festive mood, there was also a sickening drop in his stomach.

Amuse and disgust, such different words yet, they were what he could describe the feeling he got at the thought of his birthday, also known as Valentine's day. Amusing yet, sickening to see a day with a mission to spread love and affection, was the same day he was born.

Such child-like pettiness to be complaining as if he had a choice in the first place, but the irony! For him, a being who had issues with close bonds to be born on Valentine's Day. A being trying to push himself too hard to stop anything that might touch his heart as the deep-rooted fear of breaking at the hands of another consumed him.

He hates Valentine's day as well as his own birthday. End of story. That was the reason why he dared not to participate in that silly tea party. But not long after, another errand from the herbologist professor caught Hanako's interest.

Decorating the school by picking flowers for the gain of some house points? The very thought of snipping out even a stem caused Hanako to shiver. It was true that the special day was another sign that spring is about to start, but the way he saw it, the professor basically asked to decorate the school with living things that are just waiting to wilt from the lack of natural nutrients from the ground.

Hanako was an earth person. If he were less lazy and more open about himself, he would be one of the most active members of organizations that specialize in areas such as earth care, recycling, planting more trees and such.

Thus, when he sees a bouquet of beautifully assorted flowers, wrapped in chiffon ribbons, decorated with fairy lights, the only thing his slender honey brown eyes can see are flowers that got snipped from their home and taken in as a mere object to admire.

He was so baffled by Professors Bonniface's errand, he took a moment to question the professor's love for plants. Hanako the 11-year-old was deeply offended.

Yet there he goes, mumbling a soft " sorry " to every single flower he decided to snip. He knew regret was going to climb onto him in his sleep and tackle him in a big bear hug later on, but he needed those points.

Despite his big speech about dying plants and his deep hatred for Valentine's day, another childish part of him wanted to engage in it. He will never regret his absence at the tea party, but regret is confirmed if he skipped another Valentine's day errand. A regret more painful than going against his morals.

While flower picking, he used a pair of sharp scissors to ' lessen their pain'.He couldn't help but wince every time he snipped a stem from the ground and definitely had a difficult time trying to hide such a dejected face when he noticed other students were near his flower picking area.

For an activity that was supposed to brighten the mood, he definitely didn't really feel like smiling.

Compiling all of them, he had to think of the flowers as fallen soldiers for a country but quickly dismissed the thought as he was most likely what killed them.

In the end, he decided to place the flowers where they would die quicker instead of suffering for too long , and that would be the abandoned toilets. The abandoned toilets, not a lot come here, it lacks light and the smell like depressing events and tears.

It was perfect because there would be no one that tried to be an angel and water these plants. In his mindset, he was doing the best thing for these flowers even if his methods seem a bit off.

In any case, at least they would cheer another crying student if they entered this stinky toilet. Gently, he placed the vase of flowers on the sink, lightly feeling their soft petals with his fingertips as if they were going to rot the moment he leaves. With the most kindest voice he could muster, he said :

" I'll promise to plant a bunch of flowers when I get back home to honor you guys. Again, I'm sorry I had to do this and, I hope you forgive me. Happy Valentine's day, flowers. I hope you'll make someone else smile even if it can't be me "

And with that, he left the toilets like a man who just confessed his unrequited love and was now free and flying.

That is how, Hanako Tone said the words; ' Happy Valentines Day ', for the first time in years.
This thread was for an errand and I had so much f u n  and Hanako had done this individually
