Looking For Trouble
Rowan hadn't exactly been planning to go exploring after classes had finished that day, but she and another girl had gotten talking about secret passageways and hidden areas. Then another student had overheard them, and mentioned that there was supposed to be something really cool around the abandoned toilets on the second floor, but wouldn't tell them what it was, saying that they had to go look for it themselves. Something about ruining the surprise. And Rowan had never been good at secrets or surprises. She couldn't just leave it like that. She knew she'd just end up spending the entire night wondering and wouldn't get any homework done anyway. So she'd asked - okay, more begged - the girl to go with her.
"I think it's just around here," she said, as they turned the corner to where the abandoned toilets. It wasn't exactly the sort of place that she tended to frequently, preferring fresh air and all. She'd just heard about them a few times. "Have you explored this area at all?" she asked the Ravenclaw girl. Maybe she would be able to give them a bit more guidance as to where they were going. Looking up ahead, it looked alike any other toilet, but perhaps that was what they were looking for. "What do you think? Is that it?"

Looking For Trouble
Lexi scurried after Rowan, her smaller bag still swinging on her shoulder as she stumbled around the corner. They had only just met earlier that day, talking of secret passages and generally hidden areas of the castle. She was delighted to find someone who shard her interest in such things, though she had to admit it was probably not particularly difficult to find something she was interested in. Lexi was interested in almost everything you could find in a book.
She was not entirely keen to follow the girl in her adventuring pursuits. Lexi was always one to follow rules and stick to plans, and was very bad at winging it whenever things went wrong. But she had to admit she was just as curious to find out what the supposed secret was. She had never read about anything hidden near the abandoned toilets. Besides, the homework she had gotten that week was too dull to spend the night on. She had already read half the chapters they were asked to write essays about.
All that aside, she now stood beside the girl in front of the abandoned toilets, rather excited in spite of herself. It was perfectly within her rights to explore the castle, right? She turned to face her once more. “No... I’ve never properly been around the second floor. We can’t take Muggle Studies yet. But I think this must be it. There’s a map in Hogwarts, A History.”

Looking For Trouble
How exciting it was to have someone to go on adventures with! She'd poked around the school a bit on her own, but it wasn't the same when you were the only one doing the poking. It was so much better if someone was at your side to joke around with and come up with some of the ideas. And this girl, Alexis, seemed up to the task, if a little bit hesitant. That was fine, though. Once they got going and found something really awesome, Alexis would see how brilliant of an idea this all was, and would be more enthusiastic about the whole thing. People always came around to fun things.
It looked like they'd found the place, but it was rather hard to tell. It all just looked like toilets. "Wait, you have a map and you're just bringing it up now?" she asked the other girl, grinning. But really, that would be useful. "Does it say anything about what we're supposed to find here? Because that other jerk in class just said it was something cool, but wouldn't say what it was?" And as fun as surprises could be at times, Rowan generally preferred to know just what she was getting herself into. She glanced at the doors to the toilets, trying to see if anything about them stood out or looked any different than any other toilets she'd ever seen. But there was nothing. "I guess we should go in?"

Lexi laughed, shrugging as she unclasped her bag. "I didn't think there would be anything in it. It's very informative, but it doesn't show hidden passages or the like." Still, she propped the book open and balanced it on her left arm, flipping through it with her other hand. Finally, she came across the section with detailed maps of each floor, and held the book out to Rowan. "Either way, I guess it's worth a look? You never know with these things."
She examined the map carefully, placing her finger on the area labeled 'Toilets'. "That'll be it. I guess they weren't abandoned when the book was written." She then traced a circle around the area, her head tilted thoughtfully. "I don't think there's anything here after all. See, there's just the corridor." With a disappointed sigh, she closed the book shut and dropped it back into her back, which jerked her down slightly as the heavy book fell into it.
"I guess there's nothing else to do but go in now." She turned back to Rowan. "Do you remember if he said anything specific about where it was? I don't think he said anything about what, because I'm pretty sure I'd remember that. It'd give us a clue as to where it's at. But it can't anything too impressive, because then it'd probably be something a lot of the students know about. Still, it's probably worth looking at."
