Finding a quiet place in this castle was nearly impossible, there always seemed to be someone hiding away in some obscure spot Elzabeth would have otherwise thought would be empty.

She clutched the report card that had been the main culprit of her bad mood, trying to pull herself together after a rather horrible encounter with a girl in the hall. Admittedly, she shouldn't have carried on and insulted the first year but after being pushed so far, she just couldn't resist.

It wasn't like her, to go around losing her temper at such a minor inconvenience. Elzabeth a year ago would have walked away without so much as a second thought. Elzabeth a year ago had a friend group and two supportive parents.

Now it felt like the opposite had occurred. Her support system had dwindled along with her relationship with her parents. She felt alone and angry with no one to talk to.

"Ugh!" Elzabeth stuffed the letter in her bookbag, then threw the bag on the floor, walling to the mirror. This place was disgusting. What the hell was she even doing here?

Without thinking, Elzabeth reached up to the cracked corner of the mirror, running her finger along the edge. Almost as if the universe had some sick sense of humor, the edge broke off and a large piece was sent to the floor, shattering at her feet.

Elzabeth paused, burying her face in her hands. "Good job Elzabeth." She let out a bitter laugh.

So much had changed since she had arrived at Hogwarts, and Tory didn’t know if she liked it or not. She had discovered very much about herself, like how much she enjoyed learning about dragons, and how much she loved potions. The Gryffindor had also learned that if she was provoked enough, she would go off like a bomb in your face. She had only lost her temper once, of course, but just one screaming match had ended up in earning herself an enemy for probably the rest of her Hogwarts years.

Anyways, if there was one thing that she had always known about herself, not just learned this year, it was that she adored being alone. Tory was friendly and nice, but she much more enjoyed being alone by herself than talking for hours on end. And so today, that’s what she did. Spent 2 hours alone by herself in the abandoned toilets. There wasn’t anything particularly upsetting the first year, she just wanted some free space to think, and as most mental breakdowns happened in the abandoned toilets but not too much noise or chatter, she thought it to be the correct place.

All evening she had just been sitting in a crickity-crackity broken stall on the ground, looking thoughtfully out of the large, half broken and very dirty window that lived on the wall of the stall. It had been almost pure silence these few hours she had been here, which she was soaking in gratefully. But then, while she was pondering the thought of a dragon-thestral baby while looking out at the Great Lake, she had heard the door crack open.

Tory hadn’t thought anything of it at first, but then heard footsteps echo in the puddles, an irritated, “Ugh!”, and a what sounded like a luggage or bag of some sorts fall to the floor. Ignoring the noise, Tory had just kept focusing on what she has been thinking about before. And then she heard the noise of glass falling to the ground. And then the same irritated voice as before saying, “Good job Elzabeth.” As well as a sour sounding laugh.

Yep, now her curiosity was taking over, she just had to find out what was going on. She stood up and creaked the stall door open, stepping out onto the cracked tile flooring. “Um, hi. Er- is everything alright here?” Tory asked, looking without much empathy into a blonde-haired Ravenclaw’s eyes.

Having spent the past year seeking serene and comfortable spots in the castle, Ana valued her alone time. She was an introvert at heart no matter how hard she tried to present herself as an extrovert. She required that time to recharge her social battery, else she ran the risk of blowing up in everyone's face. She admired the Ravenclaw common room but she couldn't find the isolation she wanted there. It's what drove her to find the abandoned bathrooms that were housed on the second floor.

The bathrooms were habitually her second choice of location, the Great Lake always came first on her list. It was such a vast space, she knew that there was no chance of her being disrupted. Ana frequently wondered if others knew of the bathrooms, they likely did, hence her reservations. She would wait and watch to ensure no one entered the bathrooms before she did. Today was different, and she was unsure what possessed her to enter the bathrooms without investigating, but she did.

Light footsteps led her through the doorway and inside the bathroom. It wasn't the most impressive area of the castle, but Ana appreciated it nonetheless. She could overlook that the bathrooms were revolting and that there frequently lingered a sickening smell. She could ignore the draft that would often numb her to the bone, leaving her trembling by the time she finally retreated to her class or the commons. It was her personal space, as grotesque as it was.

On her entrance to the bathroom, Ana caught herself gawking at the back of a girls head. “Merlin. You have to be kidding me.” Her speech hushed, Ana's tone was packed with dissatisfaction. Elzabeth was an inconvenience to her now. Ana considered her options, she could shift on her heel and travel back out into the building to search for a different space or she could linger in the bathroom and hope that she would leave quickly.

The former was the more appealing prospect, and Ana made a move to leave. The unexpected "ugh" from Elzabeth accompanied by the sound of the bookbag hitting the ground almost made her oblivious to the glass smashing on the ground behind her. Tory's voice was unexpected, as was her appearance from within one of the bathroom stalls. Ana relocated herself in the bathroom, a polished smile brightening up her features. ”You're lucky this is an unused bathroom or the Headmaster might have made you pay for that.” Ana commented, her interest taking over her desire to be alone.

[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]Suzuki was bored. Her ADHD was acting up (amasing!), probably a result of the hours she spent at a desk finishing up homework. That was her fault, though- the homework part. She probably shouldn't have signed up for so many classes.

Even better, her stuffy nose seemed to get even stuffier. She could barely breathe, even with the extra-strong nasal strips. Her stupid sleep schedule didn't help, either.

Neither did the cursed staircase.

What she would've liked more than anything else would've been a nice fight. She would've liked to drive her fist into someone's face, and watch as their nose spurted blood and as their tooth fell out. She would've liked to get punched in the shoulder or face herself.

To win or to lose.

The thrill of the fight was what she missed. Here, in Hogwarts, she could only go for jogs on the grounds, do homework, attend classes, and observe the beautiful Scottish highlands from a distance.

So boring.

Suzuki had been exploring Hogwarts ever since she'd arrived, and by now, was pretty sure that she'd seen all Hogwarts had to offer.

Apparently, she was wrong. After wandering the floors alone, she'd found a door. This door, she'd never met before. It was low-pitched, abandoned. She could hear the dusty fingerprints on its wooden surface.

It was abandoned- but she could see the colours radiating out from inside. Colours meant people. Voices. Sounds.

Not being able to help her curiosity, Suzuki pushed open the door. She was met with- three girls (was that Williamson?), one lonely bookbag, and a broken mirror.

The door fell shut behind her. No way out, now. *Scheiße

Curiosity really did kill the cat. She stepped towards.
Then sideways. Diagonally. The same expression still on her face.

The dry clap of boot sole against the cold concrete. Dark grey. Dusty, too. Everything about this place was dusty. Old.

She could see why.

The piece of glass on the floor. The cracked mirror. Suzuki's arm twitched, this time. She wanted to break the mirror. Watch satisfyingly as the mirror fell to pieces. Watch as the glass clattered to the ground.

Well... It was a bathroom. These places were great places to mess around. The mirror looked back at her with a funny look on its face.

But then again, it'd probably be vandalism if she shattered the whole mirror. It'd be fun though. Take away some of the twitching itchiness to fight.

Edging away from the three girls (yep, that was Williamson, all right), Suzuki couldn't help but ram her left fist into the brick wall. The satisfying pang of pain rang through her hand. When she pulled her fist away, the few bricks she'd drove her fist into were cracked. Dented, almost. In the shape of a fist.

To win or to lose, indeed.

Suzuki vs. a brick wall

Ha.

Reaching over, Suzuki picked up the shard of glass that had broken off and fallen on the floor. Probably the doing of one of the blondes. Rifling around in the metal case still gripped in her right hand, she pulled out some spellotape. And fixed the mirror.

Even though she wanted to destroy it, Suzuki fixed the mirror.

Life was just like that sometimes.

Peace and quiet.

That's all she wanted.

Was it so hard to expect some peace and quiet in a place literally known as abandoned?

Elzabeth jumped as the first girl stepped out of her spot, her hand flying to her chest. "I-" Elzabeth stopped short, her face turning red.

To top it off two other girls seemed to decide no of all times was the best moment to make their way into the abandoned toilets, one of them punching a wall which mildly confused Elzabeth but she was too scared to outwardly question it.

"W-what are you guys doing in here?" She asked, her eyes filtering to each of them. She didn't recognize any of the new visitors, which probably meant they were in a different year than she was.

"I thought they called this place abandoned for a reason." She mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. She leaned against one of the cracked sinks, flinching when it seemed to wobble unsteadily.

Maybe the universe really was out to get her, it seemed to keep throwing the punches without so much as a small break. Then again, it might be a good thing that there were other girls in here, maybe Elzabeth wasn't meant to be alone?

When the door creaked open for the first time, Tory's eyes quickly flickered over to the newcomer automatically. She would have introduced herself, but now wasn't exactly the best time to make new friends. The girl had blonde hair, and appeared to be a Ravenclaw. To Tory, she looked about 11 or 12, so the same age as the lion. ”You're lucky this is an unused bathroom or the Headmaster might have made you pay for that.” She commented, and Tory just nodded subtly.

Then the door creaked open for the second time, and Tory's eyes landed this time on a fellow Gryffindor. One with short, brown hair, and distant grey eyes. Looked like Suzuki, a girl she had met in the girl's dormitories late on night. The girl punched a wall and Tory just smiled internally. Yep, She thought, looking back to the first blonde Ravenclaw who came before the others, that's definetly Suzuki.

"W-what are you guys doing in here?" The older-looking of the two blonde Ravenclaws asked, looking at each of the other girls in the broken room. "I don't know. Maybe because your not the only one who thought to come here for some peace and quiet..." Said Tory, her tone still kind but now with a hint of bitterness. Older Blonde Ravenclaw Girl (Tory would now be calling her OBRG) Said something else, but the lion couldn't really hear it. OBRG crossed her arms over her chest , leaning back on a not-so-stable probably thousand year old sink.

Tory awkwardly casted glances at her peers, keeping her eyes on the OBRG before speaking again in that same, 3/4 sweet, 1/4 bitter voice,"Nice meeting you all here, huh? How's everyone doing on this" She moved her gaze from the OBRG to the ground, "..fine evening?"
