An hour after the last lesson of the day

The first of April embarked many things. Some of them being of high importance. Be it from Mr Stackstir’s night piano performance - that served no purpose whatsoever - Euphaustus’ lovely neighbour back in Manchester, to the birthday of his great-great-great-great… great-grandma, who was long gone - but definitely (and clearly) not forgotten. But the most important part of this miraculous day was the endless lollygagging goofy wizards and witches enjoyed.

From gummy cockroaches somehow finding themselves in between someone’s bread slices to the girl’s toilet room being invaded by boys. The funny, enjoyable jokes were endless. But what was the point of pulling a prank if neither parties both cried and laughed at the same time? Of course, some very specific plans had to be set in order to accomplish such mischief.

Euphaustus himself was feeling rather empty that afternoon. Nothing special had taken place to count as an activity relevant to the day. Except for the gossiping and the ever-bashing Boomerang that had interrupted the morning class, thrown by a, quite frankly, bold Gryffindor, who was now probably already serving his punishment: One-month detention writing some boring line for a thousand times.

But what he had in mind was far more grave - and that was precisely why he liked it. With a loud, booming grin across his face, the boy, alongside his closest friend, trotted around the hallway until he found the perfect corner and location, to properly pull off what he had worked on diligently.

The past Christmas, Euphaustus had received a bag of tiny crystal balls for his mother. They were copies of the regular-sized crystal balls used in Divination. Although he couldn’t take up the subject just yet, the interest was still, quite obviously, there. What the function actually was for these little spheres was unknown to him, hence why he hadn’t actually made use of them at all. But anything could come in handy with just a tiny bit of creativity. And with an extra pair of hands, the mission could easily be accomplished.

The hallway to the horribly odious abandoned toilets was surprisingly clear. The couple of students only needed one victim, so everything was running smoothly up until now.
“Everything’s clear, yeah?” Euphaustus whispered to his fellow friend, cackling, as the words he sputtered sounded funny.
“All we need is a fool or two, one of use will lure them in, and boom! These bad boys,” he juggled the velvet blue bag that held the small marble-like balls with the palm of his right hand, “will do all the work. We just need an idea of how they’ll be lured.”

The black-haired lad eyed Jamie, who was standing just right next to him, as a grin found itself sitting on his face again - it was meant to express a thousand ideas.

Then Euphaustus burst into laughter.

“There’s a Kraken in the toilet!” He didn’t yell it out just yet, he was simply plotting out ideas, “wouldn’t that be crazy?”
