Friend or Foe?
The snow was blowing hard outside. Most of the students were spending most of their time indoors, keeping warm from the cold, cold weather. Bloom assumed that most of the students would either be in the study, the library, and in the common room. Whenever there was hardly time to adventure in the outside, most tend to study or hang out in the common room in her house. She was not in the mood to go and socialize too much.
Realistically, Bloom was getting over an embarrassing moment that happened the day before. She had gone on an adventure with Reid Kovacs to try and find the Room of Requirement in the Potions Room and it had backfired. While they were looking around, a bottle had dropped and the sweet aroma was in Bloom's airspace, making her take in the potion's effects. Fortunately, it was only by smell as it had only lasted about twenty minutes, but it was enough to be extremely touchy and forceful to Reid. She could not believe that she had done that-- even if it wasn't her own will.
Wanting to be alone, Bloom decided to spend time in the Small Hall by the fireplace. She wanted to keep warm as well as replay scenes in her mind. What if she didn't knock over the potion? Would things have been different? Sitting in front of the fire, she stared at the dancing flames burning the multiple logs on the rack. Shaking her head, she began to think more on the situation.
Although it was not her words, she still had some lingering feelings for Reid. She truly did like Ben, though. Ben was a sweetheart. Bloom just felt as though she was in her own personal love triangle. Starring into the fire, she battled her feelings about the two and tried to figure out what was right or wrong.

Friend or Foe?
Gosh, writing for the Gryffindor newspaper was getting tiring. Most people wouldn't expect first years to be writing the school newspaper, but alas, here they were. She didn't mind it, though. Actually, she took on a lot more than she thought she was able to handle with it all, but now that she was losing motivation and inspiration to finish off her few articles that she had left, she needed a change of scenery. The newspaper office and her dormitory were just not good enough. It was a shame, but she assumed the Small Hall would be an alright place to be for now. It was cozy, and reminded her of home. She could remember how it felt to sit there in front of the fireplace from when she was sitting with her best friend there. It was a welcoming feeling.
Sabrina turned down the Small Hallway, and made her way to the end. It was the afternoon now, and from what Sabrina could tell, it was still snowing just as hard as it was the day before. It was truly a surprise considering it had been snowfall-free when she walked around the lake with Reid. Scotland's weather seemed to change faster than England's, and that was saying something. The girl clutched her red and gold notebook and her plain black enchanted quill that her dad had lent her to her chest. Her chin hugged the top of it, and her gaze was aimed at her shoes. This could be why she didn't notice another girl sitting by the fire until she approached.
It was actually the slight movement that the brunette girl made that caught the redhead's attention. She pushed a piece of hair behind her ear as she looked at the other seat. Well, thank god that it was open. She sat down, and sighed quietly, glancing over to the other girl, "Hope you don't mind," She mentioned, holding up her notebook with the Gryffindor crest etched into the cover, "Needed a change of scenery."
Her eyes trailed over the other girl, and she quirked an eyebrow at her. From what she could tell, this was the Ravenclaw prefect, judging by the prefect badge on her robe. There was only one Ravenclaw girl prefect, and that was Bloom Silverton. And with Sabrina's best guess, that was the same Bloom that had gotten intoxicated with a love potion and proclaimed her love to Reid. This made Sabrina rather... intrigued. Who exactly was Bloom Silverton, and should Sabrina be worried for her friend? At least a little bit? If Sabrina wasn't good with handling other females, she couldn't imagine Reid trying to do so.
"I'm Sabrina." She introduced herself, going ahead and making a good first impression (hopefully) at least. She leaned over the armrest of her seat and stuck out her hand that wasn't holding her quill. This one also wasn't covered in ink, which was probably a good idea, no matter how amusing it would be to pull a prank like that on someone - especially if they hadn't noticed. To be all too honest, though, Sabrina wasn't one to pull pranks. She was only able to see the harm in them, and so even though she plotted them, she never pulled them off. She felt way too guilty otherwise.

Friend or Foe?
Bloom was deep in her mind. She did not know what to think anymore. She was going through a conundrum of figuring out what was right: her heart or her mind. She was unable to differentiate from the two and it bothered her so much.
Stuck in her mind, she did not see that there was a Gryffindor girl that sat next to her until she decided to state her presence. Bloom shrugged her shoulders, showing body language to tell her that she did not care that she was joining her in front of the fireplace. The girl was holding a journal with a Gryffindor crest on it. She probably writes in diaries, she thought to herself. Bloom used to write in diaries growing up, but with everything happening so far in the year, her hand would probably cramp.
Sitting in silence, the girl spoke to her, introducing herself. Bloom looked up at the red head and gave a small smile. "Nice to meet you, I'm Bloom Silverton," she outstretched her arm, awaiting a handshake from the girl.
"Are you a writer?" she asked, wondering for the journal she was carrying. Although she believed it to be a diary, it could just be a journal for list making or writing something else. Who knew? And since this Gryffindor is sharing her space, she might as well get to know her.

Friend or Foe?
"Nice to meet you, I'm Bloom Silverton."
A smile spread across Sabrina's face, eventually pulling up into a grin. So, she had been right on her guess. It was Bloom, after all. She couldn't help but feel a little sense of pride - she had never been too good with remembering names in the first place, unless they were insignificant. So in a way, Bloom was significant. It was probably because she had something to do with Reid, and the fiery redhead was more than protective of her best friend.
Pulling her hand away, she sat more comfortably in her chair, twirling her quill between her fingers. She wouldn't be able to stay in the Small Hall past curfew like she had hoped, but she was sure the view from the Gryffindor Dorms couldn't be that bad for inspiration. Perhaps if she looked out of her window long enough, she could muster up the inspiration to write about the stars and comets. As if. She'll probably fall asleep the moment she entered her dormitory.
"Are you a writer?"
Sabrina was pulled out of her thoughts about her future plans then, and she found her eyes focused on the fire now. She turned her attention back onto the Ravenclaw prefect, and nodded her head, "Yeah!" She agreed, tapping the Gryffindor crest on her notebook. It was a little worn out, the book, now but she still used it for just about all of her ideas. Even though the first issue of GryffPost hadn't been released yet, she had plenty of ideas for future issues. She hoped that she would be able to use them. "I write for the GryffPost. What about you? Do you write?" She asked curiously, tilting her head to the side a bit.
If she was honest, this wasn't what she wanted to know. She wanted to know what this girl thought about Reid, what her intentions were. She didn't want some total creep going after her friend. She didn't know Bloom well at all, so she had no opinion on her so far. All she knew was that her heart was beating hard against her chest, and she almost felt as nervous as she did speaking to Reid sometimes. Hogwarts had changed her, she decided, and she wasn't sure if it was for the better. Definitely not if this was what she got in return.
"Hey, you're friends with Reid Kovacs, aren't you?" Sabrina ended up blurting out before she could even stop herself. She played it off cool, though, trying her best to act as casual as possible along with it.

Friend or Foe?
There was something odd about the Gryffindor girl. Although she seemed very friendly, Bloom was able to tell that there was a lot on her mind. Perhaps she was a planner along with being a writer. So far, the two seemed to have a lot in common. Bloom wondered what else they would have in common.
"I write for the Ravenclaw Newspaper," she said, smiling. It was nice to meet another writer. A thought crossed her mind for a split second: are they newspaper rivals? No, that would not be the case because other houses could not reason their newspaper. Why was Bloom thinking about rivalry anyway? If anything, it was very unique to end up sitting with another writer. "What columns do you write for the paper?" she asked, wondering what she did with the GryffPost.
Still sitting on the carpet on the ground, Bloom could feel the warmth of the fire against her face. It felt relaxing. She closed her eyes as her body was warming up from the heat. It was what she needed after long days of a cold, cold winter.
Eyes opened quickly at the mention of Reid Kovacs. Why did his name always seem to come up to Bloom? Was this a sign?
"Yeah, I know him. He's one of my best friends here," she said, smiling. She was happy to call him her best friend-- despite all that has happened in their friendship from day one. Bloom looked back at the fire, eyeing the dancing flames.
What does she want to know about him? she thought to herself, what has she heard?

Friend or Foe?
Upon finding out the Bloom wrote for the Ravenclaw Newspaper, Sabrina got a little jolt of excitement. Maybe they could also talk about columns at some point, if Sabrina's interrogation period didn't ruin the chances of the two being friends. Sometimes, Sabrina felt like she was an older sibling to Reid. But she wasn't, she was simply his best friend. She grinned widely, "That's cool! I write on the celebrities of the wizarding world," She replied, nestling into her seat. She wasn't sure why the other girl preferred the carpeted flooring to the other cushioned seat, but every one to their own. "What about you?" It was only kind of Sabrina to ask. Common courtesy, as her mother called it. And in Sabrina's mind, she was a courteous person in the long run.
"Yeah, I know him. He's one of my best friends here,"
Sabrina's interest peaked, and she leaned forwards slightly. Her heart felt a pang of something relative to worry, but she pushed it away. This was no time to get anxious over Reid having other friends than her. And even if Reid was Bloom's best friend, it didn't mean that she was Reid's. A rude thought? Most likely. But it wasn't like she's let anyone in on it other than herself. "Oh, cool! Yeah, Reid and I have been friends for as long as I can remember, he's a pretty cool guy. What do you think about him?" She inquired. She assumed she was being kind of casual about it, but starting a conversation about someone that she knew the girl used to have a crush on wasn't too casual of her.
Regardless of her own decisions, she brushed off the doubt that she might not have been so smooth with letting Bloom know that she wanted to hear more about her relationship with Reid. Sabrina was more focused on making sure the Hufflepuff boy in questioning wouldn't get hurt in a sticky situation of sorts. Even when he cried over scraping his knee, Sabrina felt at least a little guilty that she couldn't help out much. Seeing him cry over a person was even worse.

Friend or Foe?
Perhaps the Gryffindor was not so bad. She had never been friends with a Gryffindor yet. So far, she ran into Slytherins, liked Hufflepuffs, and spent the majority of her time with Ravenclaws. Now, weeks into the school year, she finally meets a Gryffindor. Mentioning that she worked on the celebrity column, Bloom was confused. The Ravenclaw Newspaper did not have anything about celebrities, should they? She shrugged the thought to herself -- knowing that there was only a couple days of article writing before the issue was to be published and she could not pick up another quill at the moment as she wrote three articles already.
"I write an advice column as well as the news around Hogwarts," she answered, smiling at the fact that she met not only another Gryffindor, but a writer for her house's newspaper, too. It truly did lighten her up just a little bit. Bloom wanted to talk more about their papers as writers but it was not likely. Now that Reid is in the picture of their conversation.
How long have they known each other? she asked herself. Would it be pushy if I asked that?
Bloom did not want to open up any doors just yet. She wanted to know more about this Gryffindor and why she brought up Reid of all people. Bloom and Ben were an item and the whole school knew it, and yet, here she was asking about Reid... The boy who broke her heart and yet they were the best of friends.
"Um," she said, not knowing what to say about him. Should she tell her how she felt about Reid? No... She knows him too well... Maybe I should ask how they met...
"How did you two meet? In class?" she asked, wondering if she was dramatic and it was only since the beginning of the school year. Now to say something about Reid... What could she say? I have a lot to say... she thought.
"He's really kind and easy to get along with," she said, her eyes shimmering ever so slightly, talking about Reid. "What about you?" she asked, giving her back her questions.
