The room, although open, felt more crowded than it had moments before. Persephone stood by the table dedicated to refreshments, eyeing each of her peers as they participated in their individual conversations, everyone seemingly in their own world. The young blonde was considering leaving, as there was no further reason for her to stay. She’d done her time and earned her points for Slytherin. To any outsider, Persy was free to leave.

Except, she wasn’t going to.

Though she tried, Persephone was unable to will herself to leave the happy students behind. It wasn’t that she thought she would miss something, or perhaps that someone would miss her, in fact, quite the opposite. Persephone was acutely aware that no one would notice that she’d gone, simply carrying on their conversations, never knowing she had stood with them. Among these clueless peers were some of her fellow Slytherins, and to them she was nothing but another carbon copy of a blonde girl with green eyes. And that just wasn’t a Slytherin’s legacy. As a dedicated serpent, she would have to make her mark.

Perhaps to an outsider, she looked as if she were enjoying herself. Persy leaned casually against the table, her hands supporting her minute weight. A few more students were arriving, and her green eyes were met with people who had- for some odd reason- dressed nicely for this event. The Slytherin herself very rarely wore dresses, finding herself more comfortable in casual attire, looking more like an edgy pre-teen than anything else. But, this usually embarrassing level of under-dressing didn’t bother Persy, if anything, it made her feel rather unique. Not that she needed help with that.

Beside her, a couple of students were fetching refreshments, and for the first time, she turned to acknowledge the admittedly impressive assortment. There were a few different foods, primarily biscuits, but the number of different flavors of tea greeted her with surprise. Who drank this stuff? A warm beverage seemed to defeat the point of being refreshing, however it was apparent that at least somebody enjoyed the drink. They had to, to come up with an impressive 15 flavors, give or take.

The blonde picked up one and brought it to her nose, as if detecting it for poison. No poison here, she thought, just a disgusting drink. A chill pressed against the back of her neck, causing her to sharply turn around, the drink splashing in its peculiar, pink cup. She could’ve sworn someone’s gaze had been piercing her skin, looking into her soul. It wasn’t like sniffing the tea was that odd- there were drugged candies scurrying around all over the Hogwarts grounds. If anything, it had been an act of self preservation.

Persephone scanned the room again, wary of anyone who even faced her general direction. Her eyes settled, at last, on a red-headed girl, who seemed to be conversing with a certain red-headed boy. She bit the inside of her cheek, a little harder than she’d meant to, and attentively watched as the girl got up to leave, red-faced. Her eyes immediately darted back down to her hands, where her knuckles were white.

Although she fought it with everything she had, she glanced up again, her chin high as she chewed distractedly on her tongue. The red-headed girl had turned around to face him again, her back exposed to Persy. This girl, whose name or house Persy didn’t know, had an aura about her that made her uneasy. There was ill intent somewhere about.

Persephone didn’t realize she was crossing a line until it was in her rearview mirror; the hot tea that she had been harshly squeezing was poured over the top of the girl’s auburn hair, drenching it in the scolding beverage. The tea cup fell to the floor and shattered with a piercing noise, the pieces scattering as far as a foot away from where she had initially dropped it. Her hands shook as she crouched down to clean the mess with her bare fingers.

Cupping the remnants in her hands, she sat them on the table the red-head had been standing in front of, occupied by the red-headed boy still. She avoided his eyes, instead focusing on the broken glass. In her recent lesson of Charms, she learned the mending spell. After considering it for a moment, however, she left the pieces alone, instead turning to face her drenched victim, her expression unchanged.

Their eyes met, green to blue-grey. The girl had rather pretty eyes, Persephone believed. Perhaps she would mention that sometime, because something told her now was not a moment for compliments. With an untimely grin, she handed the girl a napkin.

If John was being honest with himself he had absolutely no clue as to why he had even considered coming to this event one of the Professor's was hosting. Something about the tea had appealed to a softer spot deep deep down in the Gryffindor. Very. Deep. Originally he had overheard some others in one of his classes talking about attending and he brushed it aside until the mention of house points drew him in. So far his interaction with his house mates had been next to nothing. His whole first year he had thrust himself into classwork and studying... He didn't dare mention the event in his owls home. At least not until he had attended and it was all over with. His mother would at least appreciate a full update on how things went. Especially if it involved other Pureblood families or..... girls.

A large knot forced its way up into his throat. Girls. Would he have to chat with any of them? How Valentine's-y was a Valentine's Tea Party... Beads of sweat started forming on John's forehead as he slowly walked towards his destination. Tucking in his pocket square and straightening his jacket, John fussed with his outfit before rounding the corner into the Small Hall. Taking a deep breath he tried to clear his emotions. His father would expect him to be civil and sociable with everyone in attendance, not that his father's expectations made it any easier to be... cordial.

The sound of pleasant conversations quietly chittering away in the hall welcomed John as he scanned the layout before him. Pleasantly decorated, although quite pink... as to be expected from the theme but also his understanding of the Professor. It still was set up in quite good taste though John thought as he walked further into the grouping of his peers. Grateful for having the constant reminder from his mother to dress more formally, John studied the others in the room. Some rather formal while others.... He grimaced at a boy who appeared to be wearing a mock tuxedo... 'How tacky..' John's green eyes glazed over the boy briefly before turning his attention to a handful of the girl's who had on rather pretty outfits... although one of them-

"Great.." John murmured under his breath. That girl from his Charms class was here. How wonderful... hopefully he would be able to keep his distance. Something about her constantly got under his skin and he was in no mood to deal with her smart remarks today. She seemed busy with some other boy thankfully. Skirting behind a couple of others and out of sight he slid his way over to the refreshments.

Katrina was still a bit red from the awkward tea incident. Before he arrived, she spotted Piérre walking over. He was bearing a huge grin and Katrina somewhat wondered if the expression was about her. He greeted her by using her pet-name 'Kat'. It was nice to have the familiarity from her late household still with her.

Piérre and Katrina had met during, ironically, a tea party in the Gryffindor Common Room. Without meaning to, they both shared a lot about their past. Piérre and Katrina met once more when she gave him a Christmas letter and candy cane. A few times off and on they would bump into each other, and Katrina grew a bit fond of his mischievous personality. (As much as she wouldn't admit it.)

She perked up from the book, "Hey Piérre. The place is a little too pink for my liking, but I suppose there was a bit of thought in it all," she spoke meanwhile her brain was screaming 'IT'S TOO PINK!!!!!'. Katrina slipped the book away as Piérre poured himself a glass of-- Earl Grey? Her late father used to drink that tea after a busy day at work.

Piérre looked around the room and his eyes settled on someone across the room. A tiny pinch of annoyance darkened Kat's features for a split-second. Instead, she hid a blush as he pointed out another boy whom he had allegedly met at the caretakers office.

"I haven't met him. Did you two get in trouble?" Katrina dared ask while sliding out of the chair and standing beside Piérre. He certainly seemed like the Gryffindor to go asking for trouble. His mischievous nature would sure be a magnet for detention. A sly smile slipped over her face as she gestured to walk on.

She had an incident in the Caretakers Office a little while back as well. Her mischievous kitten, Boomerang, was stubborn to follow her around. He would be locked in Katrina's dorm and by second period would be strolling through the halls. After an eventful morning, he had snuck into the Office and caused a meeting with another boy pining to get her in trouble. Katrina shook herself from the memories and looked back at Piérre.

"Let's go meet the 'Caretaker's Office boy'" Katrina teased him for not saying his name and followed Piérre over to the table.

"Hey, you!"

Sola jumped when she heard a voice call out in her direction, dropping two of her three biscuits, the third still in her mouth. She hesitantly turned around to see a girl not too far away looking at her.

Sola quickly removed the biscuit still held in her mouth and quickly stooped to collect the ones she'd dropped. "M-me?" she asked.

"Yes, you over there," the girl repeated, smiling. "Care to join us?"

Sola couldn't have asked for anything else in this entire party. She made her way over, but on the way, she noticed the boy from earlier, @Piérre Marchonné. They made eye contact and she pursed her lips, looking away. Maybe she had lost her nerve in talking to him too quickly. She shouldn't have backed down so soon. She would have to apologize later.

She joined the other two at the table and put down her biscuits and tea, which had been held rather awkwardly in her arms. Both girls were her age, one with long black hair and wearing a lavender dress. The other one had red hair tied back and was wearing a white dress. Sola suddenly felt quite silly wearing her pink dress with the bows tied into her hair.

"H-hi," she said. "I'm... I'm Sola."

Teiki jumped slightly from the sudden shout as well. She glanced towards where the redhead had shouted, noticing a girl. Of course, they were plenty of girls in this room, but she was carrying some tea and biscuits. Also, she had no one else to talk to. And that was all the information Teiki needed before she started beckoning the girl over, a happy smile on her face. More people to talk to!

Teiki, finally, took a seat. The seat itself quivered slightly from the small bouncing that the girl was doing. Her hair was bound to be unraveling slightly, tufts starting to escape their confines. But Teiki simply had the idea of meeting someone else. After all, she needed to catch up on 9 years of socialization. And- well. She wasn't sure what. But it was deep, so the Hufflepuff ignored it for now. Deep generally meant not as happy.

She thought the bow added a nice touch to the dress. Admittedly, the room already had enough pink to last a lifetime, but Teiki thought the dress looked nice. Teiki glanced at the girl for a moment, attempting to decipher the emotions. Nervous, she supposed. Well, Teiki could understand that emotion.

"Hello! I'm Teiki. Nice to meet you. Say, I didn't expect it to be so popular." Teiki blushed slightly, a small smile always on her face. She almost wanted to hide in the comforts of the Hufflepuff scarf. Well- it wasn't that bad. She didn't really know what she was getting worked up over. Except it seemed the pink room had transferred a decent amount of its pink to the cheeks of others here. So, at least, Teiki wasn't the only one.

"Touchy, touchy."

"Yeah, well...you would be too, if you were in my shoes," Jack grumbled at Evelynn's comment on his behavior and subsequent chuckle. He knew very well just what kind of satisfaction she was getting out of this because he relished it as well when he was on her side of the situation. At the moment, however, he was too on-edge to properly keep his composure. His anxiety was spilling into his words and actions in the form of irritation.

It wasn't Evelynn's fault, though. If she wasn't there to expose him, there was no reason to take out his nerves on her. She probably had no idea what he was worried about or just how much. Not that he wanted her to know. He just hoped she would hurry up and tell him what she wanted with him so he could get out of there as soon as possible. He was fairly sure he had already stayed long enough to qualify for the promised house point reward.

"Anti-Valentine's Day?" she repeated with a raised brow. "Not really. I don't mind people having their fun or using it as an excuse for going out or whatever it is that people do. I just don't really participate."

"Mmm...just gray and black weren't exactly the colors I pictured being festive for the occasion. Hopefully you don't get docked points for it," he added with a small smirk of his own that suggested he wouldn't have minded if she did.

With a heavy sigh, he put his shades back on and peered over the tops of them at the gradually growing population of students surrounding them. There was Ruka sitting with Opeila...and was that a Gryffindor they were inviting over? Jack didn't think he recognized the guy. Speaking of Gryffindors, though, the sight of Rafael D'Spacito chatting with Wren Caster and a familiar-looking Slytherin caused Jack to immediately retreat back behind the saftey of his plush pink seat. He sunk down as low as he could behind the backrest cushion as if it were a trench behind which he could hide from enemy gunfire.

Interestingly enough, when Jack looked over at Evelynn, he noticed that she, too, seemed to have spotted someone she hadn't really wanted to see. He had to smile to himself at the way her features abandoned all amusement and her sharp eyes focused on one individual in particular. Not that he dared try to reposition himself in order to see who it was, but it comforted him somewhat to know he wasn't the only one there attempting to avoid certain people.

"See someone you don't like?" he murmured with a tiny sneer, leaning toward her across the table and keeping his head low. But by the time she turned her attention back to him, something had seemed to unsettle her enough to make her want to get up. A realization of sorts, perhaps?

"Yeh...I uh...I'm going to go get something to eat, I think."

Mouth slightly ajar in disbelief, he squinted his eyes slightly at her, shook his head the slightest bit, and gestured with a palm out, as if to wordlessly ask her what in the world she thought she was doing. But the Gryffindor girl didn't exactly seem to know herself. It was a stark contrast to the Evelynn who had walked over to seat herself at his table all full of purpose only a few minutes ago. Was she so easily distracted? Or had she become concerned about something, as he was - about someone?

It struck him when he glanced back over at the other tables. Ruka and Opeila,
It occured to him then that she might have been embarrased to be seen with him. Perhaps not even him specifically, but having seen Ruka sitting with Opeila and Rafael with Wren at their own table suddenly made Jack all too aware how he and Evelynn must have looked. In truth, he guessed that the pair of Ruka and Opeila as well as Rafael and Wren were likely no more romantic than he and Evelynn were, but that didn't matter to the random onlooker. To be seen in such a compromising position was enough probable cause for anyone to assume the worst about them - especially Erin Ryan.

"Did you want something?" the redheaded girl was asking him awkwardly. "From the table..?"

Jack suppressed a shudder as he pushed himself out of his own chair.

"You know what, how about I go with you? We can just be two people getting food. I don't really fancy sitting around staring at all this pink, anyway..." he began to babble nervously. So nervous was he, in fact, that he didn't even see his house mate come from seemingly out of nowhere only to appear right behind Evelynn to pour scalding hot tea right over the top of her head.

A few seconds later, the newly emptied teacup shattered on the floor with an attention-grabbing noise, yanking Jack out of his shock. Persephone stood there grinning as she held out a single napkin to the Gryffindor girl. The Slytherin boy gaped at her.

"Barret!" he gasped, not trusting himself to use more voice than breath for fear he would yell and draw more attention to them than had already been gathered. "What is the matter with you? That was completely uncalled for!" He rushed to grab as many napkins off nearby tables as he could and dab them along Evelynn's garments.

Well...I guess it's a good thing they were black and gray after all. Tea stains probably won't show up as badly.

"Decipio, are you alright? Are you hurt?" He hadn't liked the look of how hot that liquid was when it had been poured.

Utterly unamused with the idleness she had created for herself by sitting down at a table without a word and uninterested with continuing to mindlessly run the rim of an empty teacup, Astrea strode gracefully toward the refreshment tables, her light sundress making a satisfying swishing with every step and swirling around thin knees like snakes. Surveying the selection of teas carefully without pause, one could almost think that she was alone in the room if not for the low chatter and deliberate decor.

Once there, Astrea delicately poured herself a cup of barley tea before heading back, the steam coming up in thick curls of white that trailed behind her across the room before disappearing back into the air with a lingering scent of earthiness. Her first sip was heavenly, drawing her eyes to a close as she savoured it- a smooth, somewhat bitter nutty flavour that drew Astrea back to sunny afternoons at the manor when her parents' scheduled family time aligned and the small family spent the time in the portrait rooms in front of the windows. When set back down to her plate, the plain china made a clear clink, white against white, burnished amber liquid sloshing lightly before stilling.

A very familiarly accented voice interrupted her, a tall lightly freckled brunette with alluring grey-blue eyes. Undeniably a beautiful other, the pureblood was instantly entranced. Perhaps this is what her nanny had remarked upon many moons ago on the many variants of a perfect aristocratic heiress.

"Astrea, I trust that you enjoyed last week’s game?"

Aurelia, S.W.A.G game leader and founder, and fellow aristocrat. The Neptune-Chou was not opposed to such company.

”The game was quite fun Aurelia, thank you for hosting the event.” Her tone was neutral and pleasantly polite, an edge of genuineness tinging an accent, not unlike that of her newfound companion, smooth and crisp with the distinct control of a high upbringing.

“I doubt you are here for a date. Our kind, aren’t obligated for... such concessions. If you understand what I mean that is."

A slight smile graced Astrea's face, the corners of pink lips quirking up just slightly as if indulging in a secret before they met at the lip of her cup to take another sip. And a secret it did seem, a shared upbringing that drove the Sparkless-blooded into confusion and indignation. “In regards to the dating aspect of this event- such a privilege is unheard of, I’m pleased that you can understand.” A bright spark of veiled intrigue flashed in her upturned eyes, a micro-contrast to the dull boredom that hung heavy on her form before she had retrieved her tea.

As careful as many a good aristocratic pureblood family was to keep the family line pure from both muggle blood and incest, it was growing harder as the time passed. Their kind had been declining in number over the years, and the Lady Chou had lamented considerably on the manner over tea with her calling ladies for years before Astrea ever step foot on the Hogwarts Express. Many of the Four Bloodlines’ associates and allies were overseas and therefore hadn’t the distance required to send to Hogwarts together. Without the approval of an unknown student body, the risks of associating too closely with Sparkless without any good influence were too high. Such were the woes of high pureblood culture, there was no true stability in these times.

“My attendance is solely for the points. And tea. You?"

“Likewise. The arrangement in itself is-“ Her attention flicked toward the rest of the party with a scrutinising gaze, lingering meaningfully on the sickening decorations and disregarding many of the other children. “Questionable, to say the least. If it not for the rewards, as small as they are, I would have taken my leave. Though- your arrival has evened the weaknesses of the event slightly. Please, have a seat. Professor Bercergeay is to arrive sometime soon I'm sure.”

The third year was glad that he did not have to stand around anymore, looking like a complete fool without knowing what was going on. Now that he sat down, the Gryffindor took a few seconds to look around and the amount of pink in the room was appalling. However now that he actually stopped being so confused and nervous, he could actually make out some known faces in the mass of other students. Such as the tall Hufflepuff, who was also one of his friends, Quinn and some other people. He noticed a girl that he had not seen around in quite a while, which he recognized as Nice, or the Penny girl, as his mind had stored her.

He also saw a few students that he had briefly met and recognized from being part of the S.W.A.G club, whereas other students he had never seen before. One kid seemed to be dressed with big shades that covered the students eyes, while a fancy hat was tipped forward on their head to cover part of the face with a shadow. It looked like the student did not want to be noticed or maybe that was just the way the student liked to dress? Alan disregarded the thought and moved on, his mind already focusing on thousand other things. For example whether they had different flavors of tea and how they could put a potion into the tea, if the students were making the tea themselves. Something in the water maybe? But where was the sense to put something into it? He had heard the murmurs.

As soon as the girl he just joined at the table mentioned a love potion being put into the tea, he felt his body tense. Now who would do such a thing? Alan could not understand why people were so amused by the thought of doing that to others. As someone who had suffered from the consequences of being under the influence of such a potion, he could not wish that fate upon anyone else. A sigh of relief escaped past his lips, as the tension dropped, when the boy mentioned that he tried the tea and was doing fine. He wondered whether the boy had been careless to try the tea or whether he was just confident, but whatever it was, Alan was glad that the other kid was fine. After all being poisoned in whatever way, was usually not fun. Especially if you did stuff that you would later regret.

Alan had heard rumors that one of the professors had been poisoned with one of those potions at one of the balls, but it was never truly confirmed and therefore Alan was not sure whether he could actually trust that information. It did seem like it was false though, because why would a professor be poisoned like that? It made no sense, since they were adults and adults where supposed to talk about all the feelings stuff. It was a riddle for the Gryffindor, but one that he did not want to solve at this very moment... or at all really. Sometimes he probably was better off not knowing all the details and answers to each of his questions. He would have a lot to worry about, if he knew that much and he already has so much to worry. He probably should be thankful that he had not to worry like adults had to, that is why it is fun to still be young. Especially since adults were boring.

"I will avoid the biscuits then... I think", he muttered as he gnawed on his lower lip, something he apparently did occasionally, when he was feeling nervous. Alan's cheeks took over a darker shade of red as the blush seemed to reach even the tip of his ears. "N-no, i-it's not like that... I just heard that people are meeting h-here and got curious why", he explained, embarrassed by the accusation. The other boy was right, even if he had a date or someone he liked, he would never bring them here, especially not under the watch of that professor. But now he was here anyway, so he might as well stay for a bit; the two kids at his table seemed nice!

They introduced themselves, Opeila and Ruka. Those names were easy enough to remember, at least that is what Alan hoped. He certainly wished that he at one point would stop struggling to remember everything. "I'm Alan, pleasure to meet you", he introduced himself, a smile tugging at his mouth, when he glanced at the both of them. Sure he was still nervous, since talking to other people, especially if he did not know them, was and probably will never be his forte, but he felt comfortable, knowing that the both of them seemed okay. He wondered whether they had known another for a while, they seemed to be very comfortable when talking with another, as if they had been friends for a while. But maybe they were just extroverts, who kind of found another and just got along in an instant. That did happen sometimes, so Alan would not be surprised by that either. Especially since the boy, Ruka, had no problem with calling him, a student he never talked to, over at their table to sit with them.

Note: There is a scream audible likely to everyone.

Interacting with @Logan Baird, @Persephone Barret, and @Jack Burnett
The sudden awkwardness that Evelynn had been feeling with the realization that outside perspectives could have grossly misinterpreted her little chat with Jack dissipated almost immediately with his response. In truth, she had expected a snappy comeback. A haughty dismissal to her offer, or perhaps ─ given his attire, and the way he had been sinking even further into the overstuffed chair as though it were a mimic consuming a meal ─ a sullen "no", relieved to use the opportunity to finally be left alone.

Instead, he shot up nearly as quickly as she did. Followed quickly by her brows as her expression shifted from utmost self-consciousness to bemusement.

"You'll... what?" She heard herself say, despite not having really been cognizant of speaking.

Did he really just say he would join her? Like... accompany her to go get tea and food? Together? We can just be two people getting food, his words replayed in her thoughts, which had suddenly slowed to a level of consistency like molasses in winter. Did he not realize that would only make it worse? That anyone looking on who had any misconception of what was going on would like only think there actually was something going on between the two of them? He couldn't possibly be that daft. Right? Sure, he hadn't exactly demonstrated himself to be the sharpest tack in the shed during their earlier encounter, but she'd witnessed a sharp wit and steely defiance. It was sorely lacking now.
"I hope I am not interfering. I was wondering─"

"It's not what it looks like!" Evelynn replied in minor panic without thinking.

The pink that had been slowly climbing her neck like a serpent coiling up a tree was now making an appearance across her nose and cheeks. The sudden speak of a female voice had come as rather a surprise. The redhead was generally one to take quick and thorough stock of her surroundings and was not one easily sneaked up upon. Her mere entrance to this Valentine's festivity had already left Evelynn's mind all out of sorts. The weird turn of affair with Jack had twisted it further. Thus, Logan's appearance and subsequent request to interact and join the former two had been grossly misinterpreted as her inquiring about....things.

Naturally, all of this quickly caught up to Evelynn, and she realized her err a split second after her denial of accusation had slipped from her lips. "I mean...Yes...If you like..." She tried to recover, even going so far as to lightly clear her throat as though that would somehow reset this whole charade.

If only life had a reset button. And quick-saves. There was magic now, why wasn't there those two things? In an effort to properly recover her composure, Evelynn brought herself up to her full height of four feet eleven inches, lifted her chin and squared her shoulders. Grey eyes scanned the brunette newcomer, noting her attire, features, and the way she carried herself. At once, Evelynn recognized her as a first year Hufflepuff. And not any Hufflepuff, but one that had stumbled upon a certain meeting.

"You were at the Liberation meeting," Evelynn acknowledged. "I never got your na-AEEEEEHHH!"

Pain.

Any thought. Any planned comment. Any invitation to join herself and Jack for tea and biscuits and an inquiry into a certain famous someone... went right out the entrance to the cold beyond. Evelynn's words were taken from her in an instance to be replaced with a sharp cry of pain as something liquid poured over her head and down her face and neck, burning and searing as it went. There was no composure here. No chance to prepare for the impact of pain. Only a million nerve-endings all screaming out in agony. Instinct took over with the choked scream and onlookers would see the cub snapping hands up protectively over her head as knees buckled, tears welled in her eyes, and the rest of her ducked down and forward to flee from her immediate attacker.

Wild eyes rimmed with tears wheeled upon her rearview to take stock of what had just happened. She saw a girl. A girl with blonde hair cupping what looked like shards. It was hard to make out details; they all seemed to swim together as though painted by Edvard Munch upon a rose canvas. Then the girl turned to Evelynn. And smiled. Evelynn didn't even register the napkin in her hand. Nor the way that Jack had jumped to her defense questioning the sudden assault in his accusatory tone. For those seconds, all she saw was the girl's eyes. Those forest green eyes to either side of that button nose. They were the colour of weeds. Of a serpent. Of poison. Toxic.

Of course, it didn't help that as much as the acute surprise had subsided, the pain had not. It was still there, clutching to those patches of skin that had been scalded. Throbbing, burning. It made it hard to think. The continued press of her palms against her head and neck helped a little bit, but only a little. Evelynn couldn't understand. Try as she might, she just couldn't wrap her head around what had happened. What the heck? Why? As her peripherals starting to take in details again, she noticed the napkin. Had it been an accident? But then...why was she smiling? Why did she look so pleased? Why was there no apology, and why did Jack seem angry?

Why?

What had she done to deserve this? A prank was one thing when it was harmless. But not to a stranger. Evelynn didn't even know her. And not to cause actual pain. That was sadism.
"Decipio, are you alright? Are you hurt?"

Until now, she hadn't dared pull her gaze away from the girl. Hadn't chanced a glance to see how much unwanted attention had been drawn or the look on Jack's face. But she couldn't help it this time. His question was just so...sincere. Her gaze flickered reflexively. It only met his for a second, but she wished it hadn't. In that brief moment before she'd forced it away, she knew she wouldn't be able to explain away the tears beading her lashes, or the way her lids quivered with the effort not to cry. Out of pain, out of humiliation, she wasn't even sure which at this point.

Without another look back to the strange girl, Evelynn swallowed hard. "I'm fine," she said, trying to clip her tone, trying to speak with the same confidence that usually came so easily to her. She didn't want to give the girl the satisfaction of knowing how much it had hurt. How much it was still hurting. How badly Evelynn wanted to run out of there, to flee, to hide her head in a pillow and scream. Still clutching at her head, as much to hide her tears from onlookers at this point as to compress away the throbbing burn, the cub turned slowly to towards the exit.

"I... I'd best change, though..." She tried to laugh it off. What she needed now was something cold. And a burn salve.
Evelynn looks as though she intends to make a furtive exit from the Small Hall.

With every passing second spent in the younger girl’s presence, the unnerving feeling in her gut only grew. A dhampir’s aura was not unfamiliar to the little Monster Hunter, but this girl was far from one. Sure, she had pale skin but other than her visage, did not have any more resemblance to the race. The terrible sentiment that emanated from the twelve year old only kindled the Gryffindor’s curiosity.
In regards to the dating aspect of this event- such a privilege is unheard of, I’m pleased that you can understand.
Not many could understand the aristocratic pureblood practices. To the eyes of many, these traditions were controversial. The populations of the wizarding world was only multiplying each year with the entrance of new wizards and witches and those of muggleblood, born with the exceptionally rare gift of magic. This was however detrimental to the already dwindling numbers of the purebred. The extents to which her family — and likely Astrea’s — to preserve blood purity was only necessary.
Likewise. The arrangement in itself is questionable, to say the least.
Much like Astrea’s the girl’s blue-grey pupils surveyed their surroundings. A single eye brown quirked upwards only subtly at the sight of boy, his disguise hiding his identity, was curled up behind the pink chair not too far away evidently trying to conceal himself. As from who he was hiding from, it was none too much of the third years concern.

Aurelia barely gotten the next few words the Neptune heir spoke as a loud alarming shatter resonated through the room. Instinctively, the brunette’s head whipped to the source of the commotion to see a familiar first year drenched wet and a blonde girl standing next to her. Evelynn. The liquid on the Gryffindor was still steaming. A sharp gasp left the older year’s lips as she quickly came to realise what the situation was. “Excuse me, Astrea. It seems like one from the club requires my help.” With that, Aurelia strode towards where Evelynn and the aggressor stood. The boy in sunglasses who had been cowering behind a pink throw pillow moments ago was already in the scene.

She placed herself protectively in front of the younger Gryffindor. To be honest, Aurelia was not entirely sure if the incident had been all but an accident. It surely didn’t look like it. Nevertheless, the Monster Hunter would assume the worst. Held by her side was the piece of cherry wood wand just in case the blonde girl decided to do anything reckless. Evelynn was part of her club, Aurelia believed she held some responsibility over her members — that and the slight authority that came with it as well. “Evelynn, should I need to heal you? Are you alright?” Although her question targetted at the little lion, her eyes were still fixated on the blonde girl, a ravenous fire burning within them.

But what was more concerning was that despite the deafening shatter, the others in the room seemed to be not at all bothered by the whole situation. This clearly aggravated the ex-prefect at she very much passive-aggressively called upon the third year prefects, “Quinn. Xailah. it would be appreciated if you kindly put down your tea cups and do your jobs by dealing with this situation.
