If one were to ask what Willie enjoyed most, other than books, of course, he'd say water. He didn't know the exact reason but he guessed it was because it was a lot like him in a way. Calm, gentle, excitable. It was serene and the ambiance created by the small waves that rippled about were like a lullaby for both the heart and body. It is because of this that he is here now and will continue to be here in the future.

Around him are a large assortment of books. Most relating to first-year spells but a few are of the second and even third-year category. Levitation. Burning. Jinxes. He had it all and more. His mother may not have taught him much but she instilled in him what most kids his age don't have. Perseverance.

"Incendio."

With the shout of the incantation, the block of wood burst into flames. Thinking fast he enacted another spell to prevent a fire.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

He slowly raised his wand with his left arm while the right kept it steady. The burning block of wood was now a floating black mess but he didn't pay much mind to it. As soon as the block was above the water he dropped his arm and let the piece fall into the lake. When it came back up it looked like a piece of coal instead of wood. Speaking the levitating incantation again, he directed the wood into a pile with all the others. Dozens of wood pieces all with different levels of burning. Some were scorched beyond the point of even calling them wood while others seem to only be a shade darker than normal. It's obvious he has been practicing for a while. Willie looked into his robe and pulled out a pen and notebook. Then, he proceeded to record his findings.

"Hypothesis: Differing levels of concentration seem to cause different levels of effects. Spells are not fixed to a specific level of usefulness. Will conduct further tests."

Willie dropped the book onto the ground revealing a mess of drawings and notes all on different spells and possibilities not yet tested. His hands had tiny cuts from handling the wood and he had a makeshift bandage around his head from a knockback spell he misused.

"Next up: Severing charm."
