Mermaid, huh?
All Hogwarts students had to pass all through seven years before they could graduate and became a fine wizard and witch. Seven years was a long period of time but Lars felt it still wouldn't be enough for him to visit every corner of the castle. It was true being a new student of the school, he barely knew anything about the castle, coupled with his lack of motivation to read the book -- Hogwarts, A History consisted of one thousand pages and he almost wanted to give up after he arrived at the part where it explained about the four founders. But, Lars was never a quitter, once he started something he would definitely finished it. That was just how determinant and ambitious he is.
The information from the book was, of course, useful. Now he knew how to anticipate the moving staircases even though he still tripped over a step here and there and the fact that the students and the professors weren't the only residents in the school as there were some magical creatures living in the ground as well.
Curious, he made his way towards the lake as he read there was merpeople lived inside it. Merpeople was always considered as a myth in muggle world and to know if it really was real in wizarding world, of course he was more than excited.
Will it look like a mermaid in muggle cartoon? He couldn't help but having great expectation.
So he sat down by the lake, throwing stones every twenty seconds, hoping it was enough to call the merpeople to show up.

Mermaid, huh?
The first day of school can be exciting for some and scary for others, but for Aeri, it was a mixture of both. She was excited about the things that she would be learning here at Hogwarts, but she was slightly worried that she may not be able to make friends in Slytherin since her only friend here was put in Gryffindor. Slytherin and Gryffindor wasn't known for being friends in the past, but Aeri hoped that things would change. Wanting to get things off of her mind, she decided to go to the Grounds to get some fresh air.
Holding onto her Hogwarts, A History book, she went towards the Great Lake. She could always rely on books to focus on something else. Aeri always seemed to struggle with History in Muggle schools, but she was determined to make sure that would change here at Hogwarts. She thought that if she read ahead some, she could be better prepared for class.
Upon reaching the lake, she noticed a fellow Slytherin was sitting by it and throwing rocks. Aeri wondered if she should go somewhere else to read, but maybe this was her chance to try and make a friend. She slowly approached him and cleared her throat a bit to announce her presence before shyly looking down. "E-excuse me, I'm sorry to disturb you. But is it alright if I join you?"

Mermaid, huh?
In his mind, Lars was already imagining the surprised expression of his mother once he told him he met a mermaid at school. It just too bad that he didn't have anything to commemorate the creature if it showed itself as he didn't bring his camera -- or any other muggle technology for that matter, not even his music player which actually started to drive him mad -- with him because he didn't think it would be allowed npr he thought it might work here because his mobile phone just went off when he visted Diagon Alley. He overheard about the existence of magical camera but since he just know that, he didn't have any chance to see whether or not a shop sold it in Diagon Alley. His mother wouldn't ask for any proof but he just wanted to show him.
After a while, Lars began to think if the book was lying or perhaps not up-to-date, because after fifteen minutes throwing pebbles at the lake, nothing came his sight, not even a movement of a fish on the surface. This was disappointing and he actually considered to jump into the lake but noticing he barely see anything below the surface, he shoved the idea away. Yeah, he wasn't an idiot.
Still throwing the pebbles, he was distracted by a voice and when he looked up, he saw a girl, another Slytherin, with Asian look and a book in her hand. "Hey! No, you don't disturb me at all. Feel free to join. Are you planning to see the merpeople as well?" asked him in a friendly manner.
