Hello Again!
September 24th 2021
Fridays. The best day of the week, by far, that feeling of having the whole weekend ahead of you and knowing that there was a full two days before you had to go through another Monday, which was the worst day of the week.
Scarlet had decided that was going to free up her weekend by doing her Astronomy homework today, of course there were the obvious benefits to getting it done early, like not forgetting it exists, but she would have like it would all be worth it if it were one of her favourite subjects. It's not like she wasn't any good at it, she had gotten O's consistently in her subjects last year, it just didn't grab her attention like Defense Against the Dark Arts or Potions.
After returning to her dorm following the last lesson of the day, Scarlet emptied the contents of her khaki backpack onto her bed, she didn't bother putting them neatly away as she was well aware of the unpredictable Scottish weather and so wanted to take advantage of the dry spell whilst it lasted. She replaced the items with her things from the Astronomy class, and after leaving the castle, made her way down to the lake.
Considering that not many students would choose to jump into homework immediately after finishing classes for the day, and those that did wouldn't immediately think to do so by the Black Lake, she wasn't surprised to encounter very few students there.
Even though it was a relatively sunny day, despite the time of the year, it felt much cooler by the lake, the gentle winds becoming a great deal more noticeable there, as she walked by the lake's edge, she scanned the nearby ground for a good spot to sit. Opting to keep off the grass, Scarlet settled for a low rock, or boulder considering its large size. She took a seat facing the lake, and retrieved her work from her bag, star charts, diagrams of the solar system, notes from the class itself, and of course the homework, she hadn't actually looked over it yet so just brought everything that she could possibly need to work through it.
Securing the charts under her bag so they wouldn't be picked up a sudden gust of wind, she had a read through the questions, she sighed and slid the work under her bag with the rest, just enough so that she could still see the questions. 'Why can't I find this as interesting as the cool classroom we actually have the classes in?!' she thought, picturing the the evening's spent in the Astronomy tower, the walls of windows and impressive mechanical equipment.
The first question had looked straight forward enough, and short, which was more important, she opened her notebook to a new page and wrote out a few sentences of an answer, 'now that wasn't too bad,' she thought, she hadn't stopped to doodle or stare out into the Lake for the whole minute it took her to write it. She looked over again at the questions, and back to her notebook, before flipping to the back of the book and starting to doodle.

Hello Again!
Classes ended and Henry walked the path toward the slytherin common room, even through he enjoyed spending time with friends there were still moments that the third year enjoyed to be by himself and read or study.
Henry walked through the common room to the snape dormitory to his bunk room that he shared with Avery. Henry dropped his backpack on his bottom bunk and changed out of his uniform into more casual clothes, deciding to finish his muggle studies assignment early. The class was a mixture of easy and difficult, seeing how many muggle items it talked about from the past still Henry was able to keep his straight O's that year, however Divination was threatening his perfect O's.
The teen grabbed his muggle studies textbook and ancient ruins textbook, shoving both into his backpack before slipping the straps over his left shoulder only. Henry then smiled toward his orange feline; Loki who gave a short meow and walked over to him, climbing his leg and jumping up toward his right shoulder. The feline would sit on his owner's right shoulder, flickering his tail slightly.
The teen smiled toward his feline before leaving the dormitory and common room. It took a whole but eventually he managed to find his way outside in the grounds, taking a breath the blue eyes teen looked around. It felt good to be back outside.
Henry starting to walk toward the great lake, looking for a spot when he spotted a oddly familiar face and decided to go over toward her.
The third year approached the second year, softly smiling toward her as he spoke" Hello," Henry smiled softly and waved a little toward Scarlet unsure what to do for a moment until he asked" would you mind if I joined you in studying?"

Hello Again!
In all fairness, the doodles had begun to resemble something that could be seen as planetary arrangements or a collection of stars, if maybe you squinted at the paper at least and filled in the gaps, so she wasn’t entirely distracted from the subject.
"Hello," came a gentle voice from beside her, she looked up from her notebook and towards the source of the greeting. Henry Knight was standing in front of her, wearing a bag similar to her own, and on his shoulder sat what must be his pet cat, it's vivid ginger fur making it stand out from the greys and blacks of Henry's outfit. 'Should've gotten changed,' she thought to herself, considering Henry's change of clothes, yes her uniform was comfortable, but when she had the choice nothing beat her own clothes.
"Not at all," she said in response to his question, "and who is your friend, I don't think we've been properly introduced," she added, Scarlet had encountered a whole range of pets in the Slytherin common room and her dormitory, and she thought this little cat, or kitten judging by it's size, looked a bit familiar, though she hadn't known he belonged to Henry. The cat actually reminded her of her mother's cat back home, though of course many years ago.
Scarlet shuffled left along the rock, moving closer to her stuff placed next to her, and making more room for Henry to join her. She was glad for the company whilst she studied, she often would choose to study with friends anyway, it tended to keep her focussed on the work, well sometimes.
"Do you study outside often?" she asked, wondering if the lake was one of his usual spots to take up. Scarlet herself would often choose study outside, when the weather allowed it, so long as there was a dry place to sit and she was warm enough to write, it beat working inside. Taking into account the temperatures up in Scotland though, it wasn't often that this happened in winter or the new year, the common room was always a good number two though, she'd comfortably find a place on one of the large sofas, somewhere near the fire if there happened to be space.
If Henry moved closer to take up the seat next to her, Scarlet would say, "it's not the most comfortable of places, but I think it means you just end up working faster," with a small laugh, "or else, you'll probably just get numb to it, literally."

Hello Again!
Henry smiled toward Scarlet's response as he looked over the notebook and noticed that she was doing astronomy. The teen couldn't help himself but notice since the class happened to be one of his favorite as he looked into Scarlet's brown eyes with a soft smile and spoke" Thanks, Rouge Savior," the teen remembered the nickname that he gave her during the first full moon back at Hogwarts that was merely a few days ago. Rouge meant red in french and Henry thought it was fitting since the fellow werewolf name is Scarlet a common name for red.
The teen smiled as he kneel on the ground, allowing Loki to jump of him and walk over to Scarlet. Sniffing the girl before giving a approval meow, the feline them lightly pawed at the girl asking her to pet him as Henry spoke" this is Loki, he's a one year old Red Mackerel Tabby and has some trust issues but likes you," the teen smiled at the fellow werewolf. The third year e Jones talking to Scarlet, he always wanted to become closer friends with her and the fact that they both were werewolves motivated him only more to become better friends with her.
Henry took off his back pack and placed it on his side, taking a seat next to Scarlet while Loki say between them still looking toward the girl for attention. The third year usually preferred to be alone with his thoughts or a good book but as he spent more time at Hogwarts, the teen was started to see how much he enjoyed studying with friends.
"It's my favorite place to study, do you often study out here?" Henry replied with a smile toward Scarlet. The third year was now sitting next to Scarlet in front of the rippling waters of the great lake, the teen had to turn his head so he could look at Scarlet's brown eyes as be listened to her words.
"I agree with you, Scarlet and also studying outside just seems more peaceful or calm than other places if that makes sense," Henry replied softly smiling toward Scarlet but feeling that he just made a mistake speaking so he decided to change the subject. The third year lifted his left hand and pointed toward Scarlet's notebook for a moment as he asked" do you enjoy astronomy?"

Hello Again!
Scarlet smiled at the mention of the newly found nickname, she was glad she had made the decision to get to know her fellow wolves better that night in the shack. Scarlet watched as Henry allowed the cat the jump down from his shoulder, before walking towards her. She extended an arm towards him, allowing the kitten to smell her hand, to which he responded to with a gently meow.
"Awww, aren't you the cutest!" she said to the cat, giving him a gently stroke on the head after he reached out to her with his paw. "Oooh cool, like the Greek god?!" she then said to Henry, the cat definitely looked like a Loki, it might have been just the look of a playful kitten but she thought he looked a bit mischievous.
After briefly pausing her stroking of Loki, she soon resumed after seeing the young cat's bright eyes staring back at her, this time giving him a gentle scratch under the chin. "Yeah, I'll try to study outside whenever I can, so whenever it's not pouring with rain or too cold for comfort," she said in reply to Henry's question. "You know the group of really tall, wide trees on the way down to the entrance to the Forbidden Forest? Well I usually like to sit at the base, or sometimes on the higher up branches, of one of them - depending on my mood!" Scarlet said with a little laugh.
With Henry's next question bringing her attention back towards the notebook sat open on her lap, Scarlet flicked back to the page with the partially completed homework, "well despite whatever enthusiasm for the subject my astronomical doodles might show, I'm not the biggest fan, no," she confessed to him. "It doesn't hold my attention like some of the other subjects," she explained, "no, I much prefer Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions, they're my favourite, what about you - don't tell me I've just insulted your favourite!" she asked, admittedly forgetting the possibility that it could indeed be one of Henry's favourite. "My aunt would kill me for having dismissed it so quickly though back in first year," she said jokingly, "it was one of her favourites at school," she added.
"What have you got with you?" she asked, nodding towards Henry's bag, she wondered if he had anything more interesting, he was a third year after all so she'd probably find any of the higher level stuff interesting. "You know you've got quite the reputation as a straight-O student," she said, questioning whether it was too forward of her to bring up grades, she knew the topic was often a hit or miss topic depending on the type of person. "what do you do with a subject you can't find the motivation to study for?" she enquired, keen to achieve a similar kind of academic success.

Hello Again!
As usual, Loki didn't purr but he did enjoy the attention and affection that he was getting. Loki would inch closer to Scarlet, rubbing his head in her arm and pawing her leg along with a short meow asking the girl to continued giving him attention.
Henry softly smiled at his feline as he nodded toward Scarlet's question, replying" close, after the norse god of illusion and mischief," the teen smiled toward his ornage feline who stretched out and laid between the two students. The feline would move his amber eyes between the two as the conversation went on.
The teen listened to Scarlett's words with smile, nodding toward them as the topic of studying outside lingered around. The teen would glance his blue eyes toward the area that she was referring to, nodding toward them as he remembered days where he imagined sneaking in and exploring the forbidden forest.
The third year would move his eyes from the edge of the forest to the brown eyes girl as he spoke" that's a nice spot, surrounded by trees and the possibility of seeing a creature," Henry would then look across the lake and point with his left index finger to a large tree with its branches hanging over the water's edge as he continued" I usually study underneath that tree there, the sound of the water is soothing and occasionally I would climb the branches to."
Retreating his arm down again to his side as he took a seat besides Scarlet on the ground, turning his head to look at the girl as he listened to her words as the topic changed to what they were studying and favorite classes.
"Potions and Defense against the the dark arts are wicked, your probably brilliant at them to," Henry replied smiling a little toward Scarlet before turning his blue gaze to his feline who sat between them as he thought for a moment before answering, " astronomy isn't for everyone so I understand and your aunt has to also," the teen paused for a moment and would look toward Scarlet with a playful grin as he continued" especially since her niece is a prodigal potions and defense against the dark arts student."
The teen smiled a little toward her, he was glad that he was getting to know how fellow werewolves better at Hogwarts. The wolves should look out for each other and care for each other after all right? They were a pack.
"My favorite classes are between charms, potions, astronomy, ancient ruins, and care of magical creatures," Henry explained and would look toward Scarlet a little adding a soft laugh as he added, " it's a bit, I know so go ahead and make fun," the teen knew he could be a bit of a nerd or know it all at times but he was trying to change toward. Trying is the key word.
"I could help you with your astronomy if you want or look over your answers," Henry offered with a soft smile before looking toward his bag when he heard Scarlet's question on what it contained. The third year felt his mind pounding for a moment, worried about the scar hidden on his shoulder or another secret coming out however the third year took a deep breath and grabbed his bag.
Pulling it between the two of them as be unbuckled the top and pulled it open. If Scarlet took a look inside the bag then she would see the bag contained 5 books, 2 journals, a photo album, a old fashion muggle camera, a box of every flavor beans, 3 chocolate bars, and a bag of Loki's treats.
"Not much, you can take a look if you want," Henry spoke holding his bag on his lap as he took a bar of hogsmeade classic chocolate from his bag and handed it to the girl as he asked" do you want it?" The teen wild smile toward the girl and if she took the chocolate or not, he would eye her own quite similar bag and ask" and what do you have in there?"
The teen closed his bag and buckled it again placing it next to him and out of their way as he smiled a little, aiming his head downward a little a but ashamed when Scarlet mentioned his grades. The teen never meant to be a straight-O student but he studied and read multiple books before Hogwarts, preparing for the classes that he couldn't exactly help it.
"I guess I do but I might have heard from around the common room that you have high grades as well," Henry spoke smiling softly toward Scarlet listening to her question, it took him a moment to think over before answering, " I usually read ahead in all the classes so I'm both ahead in the class and also don't run out of motivation," that wasn't a good answer and instantly Henry begun to worried about it as he quickly added" when I don't have motivation to study for a class then I set a target for myself, for example if I study for a hour then I could read my book. Or I find friend and study with them, either normal studying or we test each other and make a game out of it."

Hello Again!
While the little cat remained by her side, coaxing her for more attention attention, Scarlet was more than happy to oblige, and though her mind was focussed on the ongoing conversation with Henry, she continued to stroke Loki.
"Of course!" she said, Loki wasn't one of the Greek, "Greek Gods, Roman Gods, zodiacs, that's all Astronomy stuff," she said remembering the lesson she had done last year in the class covering those topics, "not surprised I'd trip up there." She really needed to set aside her prejudice about the subject so as not to fall behind with her grades in it this year, she managed to get by fine first year, but it was only going to get harder this time round.
"Yeah that's my secondary motive for that being my regular study spot," she said, following his gaze to the trees she was by now very familiar with, "not seen anything yet thought, and believe me, I've tried." Looking further out to the tips of the taller, darkened trees that marked the area belonging to the Forbidden Forest.
She looked then towards the large tree positioned right by the lake which Henry was pointing at, it looked calm and tranquil, she was impressed with his choice, unlike other views in the ground, one could imagine that beyond the edge of the lake stretched boundless countryside, maybe rolling hills or steep mountainsides. Everywhere else was in a way enclosed, naturally by trees, but still shut off from whatever was behind them. "It's a nice place, I'll be sure to pass by it whenever I'm studying outside in the future, see if you're there," she said with a friendly smile.
Scarlet laughed when Henry referred to her as a 'a prodigal potions and defense against the dark arts student,' she was flattered but didn't know if she was quite deserving of the title yet, sure she was getting the grades, but she wasn't exactly pushing herself to go beyond the expected, but hopefully she would this year. "Well, not sure if I'm all the way there yet, but would love for that to be true in the future."
With each addition to Henry's list of favourite subjects she expected him to stop, and still another followed, "sure you don't want to include the last couple remaining subjects?" Scarlet asked jokingly. She was thankful for the offer of help with the homework, "thanks! I'll get something written down for the rest of the questions, then we can go through it if that's okay," she said, taking a glance at the remaining questions of the homework.
Scarlet peeked down into Henry's bag as he brought it between them and began rifling through it, it was pretty full, some usual things she had expected to see like books, but also more uncommon items like cat food, which made sense she thought, and also what looked like a photo album. She guessed Henry was probably quite sentimental, which was nice, it explained his caring nature.
"Thanks!" she said as she gratefully accepted the chocolate, she turned over the bar in her hand, reading the label, "I can't wait to visit Hogsmeade! And try some of the famous butterbeer!" she said excitedly, the trips to the village was the reason she was most looking forward to getting to third year.
"I'll show you!" she said following Henry's own enquiries as to the contents of her bag, turning to reach the bag to the left of her whilst she brought up Henry's grades. Giving a quick glance back to him when he began speaking again, she noticed his changed expression and left her bag for the time being, "well it's clearly worked for you, and you should be proud of what you've achieved, I don't think many people could do the same," she said reassuringly. "And I'll always be happy to study with you in the future, even if I'm just quizzing you from your notes because I have no idea what you're learning about," she said, laughing a little.
"I've got the perfect thing to go with the chocolates," she said, turning remembering the conversation about bags and the couple of juice bottles she had in her bag. Reaching to the left of her, she pulled around her bag, resting it on her lap, it was as she felt for the small zip that she caught sight of several sheets of paper flying past her from the side towards the lake. Pages of the various star and planet charts, the homework itself, as well as the parchment handout of the notes from the class were all suddenly caught up in a gust of wind and sent flying towards the water.
"Nooo!! Wait!" she said as if pleading with the papers to drop to the ground. She pushed her bag back on the rock and quickly gave chase after the papers, she needed to get to them before they flew too far out over the lake, she didn't mind the inconvenience of getting her feet a tad wet to get them, but she wasn't about to get attacked by a giant squid over some Astronomy charts.

Hello Again!
"Hopefully we'll spot a few," Henry replied to her comment on not seeing any magic creatures yet, the teen had a unusual passion for animals and magical creatures. The third year tries to read every book that is written on them and now that he's taking, Care of Magical Creatures is determined to get as much hands on experience with them as he can. The third year was thinking about a career as a magzoologist but wasn't sure...
Henry turned to Scarlet, smiling a little sad he listened to her a bit glad that he showed her his usual spot as he replied" I'll be on the lookout for you then," a playful smile shown over his lips for a moment with a slight nudge to her shoulder before his usual soft son's took its place again and all other emotions went back to hiding behind the 'barrier'.
"That's fair but you are already wicked intelligent," Henry replied to her comment as the topic changed to school work and the third year turned his blue gaze toward Scarlet's astronomy papers, studying them for a moment or two before looking up and nodding toward her as he replied playful, " I know, I'm a nerd go ahead have your fun," the teen laughed a little toward Scarlet for a moment before going back to smiling ad he spoke" alright," nodding to Scarlet about her finishing up her assignment then them going through it.
The teen set his bag to the side again as he nodded, smiling toward Scarlet response about the chocolate looking at her when she mentioned hogsmeade. The third year remembered that she was a year younger and couldn't legally go to hogsmeade yet as he spoke" well next year, I'll personally show you around hogsmeade," the teen smiled softly toward the girl as he leaned in a little to her and spoke in a lower voice, "including a few spots you can see the shrieking shack and sneak in or out of it," the third year smiled toward her never having experienced a full moon outside of the shrieking shack at Hogwarts yet.
The third year leaned back, eyeing Scarlet's bag softly smiling toward her when he heard her words. The teen listened to them and nodded toward them, the third hear wasn't one to tell others about his achievements or bring up his grades naturally so the thought sounded odd to him. Not to mention he mainly only tried to keep straight O's because his elder brother graduated from Hogwarts with straight O's, his father to. So the teen felt pressure to do the same...
"I'll love to study with you to, Scarlet and I can even quiz you," Henry replied toward studying together, the teen enjoyed studying with friends and never had a friend in slytherin to study with before or wanted to study to began with. So the third year was smiling at the chance to be able to study Henry a fellow werewolf and slytherin.
There was a awkward moment. Luckily, Scarlet fixed it as she mentioned something going good with the chocolate. The third year watched ad she searched through her bag, Loki giving a short meow toward him as for attention.
Henry starched his feline between the ears for a moment when something caught his eye, looking up at the teen saw Scarlet's notes, charts, and assignment blowing in the wind toward the great lake.
The third years jumped up after her and stretched his hand in attempted to grab it as he missed and watched them fly dangerously close to the water and giant squid.
"Bloody hell!" Henry cried as he ran after the papers behind Scarlet, jumping in the air in attempts to catch the papers before they would take a turn and head toward the great lake that was the home for the giant squid.

Hello Again!
Sure, Scarlet had been aware of the breeze, that like most days, moved through the grounds, it was nothing out of the ordinary considering how far north the school was, but the force with which the sudden gust had quickly blown all her papers out of reach, surpassed any she had felt so far. She made a few failed attempts at jumping and trying to grab a couple of the sheets, but they had been blown too high for her to reach. Keeping an eye up to the papers, she followed their path from the ground, eagerly waiting for them to drop to a position more accessible.
She caught sight of Henry jumping up trying to help her, but like her, the papers were too high for even him to reach. She saw their window of opportunity approaching as the papers began to float downwards, but as they did, they still continued move in the direction of the lake.
"There!" Scarlet said to Henry, pointing at what looked to be a couple of her charts starting to lose altitude above Henry's head, "try get to those over there if you can," she said, hopefully it would get low enough for him to get without him getting his feet wet.
Scarlet turned her attention to the papers above her own head, so much so, that she soon heard the splashing of water beneath her feet, she looked down to see that she had walked into the shallows of the lake, 'only shallow,' she thought before looking back up. She could definitely reach that, maybe with a bit of extra effort. Scarlet jumped up, stretching her hand out to meet the papers, smiling when she managed to pull one of them to her.
Quickly, she jumped back up, before the second sheet had time to rise up again, and again had the luck of catching it first time. This time though, she lost her footing as she landed on the partially hidden floor beneath the dark waters, and although she managed to stop herself before falling face first into the water, she couldn't prevent the large splash from going up her left side as she did so.
Scarlet looked back to Henry, wondering if he had been as lucky with the few papers around him, and if he had managed to stay dry, "this water's freezing!" she said to him, she wasn't even deep enough for the water to pass her knees, but it was more than enough for her to feel the full extent of it's icy temperatures, at least on her feet.
With the papers in hand, and luckily only lightly splashed following her stumble, she began to make her way back to dry ground. Scarlet examined Henry's clothes, she couldn't quite tell if he had managed to stay dry, but whether he had or not, the idea popped into her head regardless, "I don't think you fully appreciate how cold this water is," she joked, and whilst she did, quickly skimmed her hand through the water and brought it up in the direction of Henry. "Hopefully you don't mind the water as much as I suppose Loki does!" Scarlet said laughing, assuming that like many cats, Loki wasn't the biggest fan of water.

Hello Again!
Henry jumped, reaching in the air for the astronomy charts but coming off short of them as he looked over at Scarlet who seemed to have the same luck as him.
The third year only wanted to grab them before they blew furthered out toward the great lake where they would be ruined and Scarlet probably won't look good in the eyes of the professor.
"I'll try," Henry replied as he watched the charts float over his head, bending his knees a bit the boy jumped up and grasped at the charts only to grab air as the charts were blowed by a rather large gust of air.
The boy splashed into the shallow part if the great lake, his shoes slicing into the freezing water as he jumped and grabbed the charts holding them well above his head and water since when he landed drops of waters covered his pants.
The teen smiled, relieved to have grabbed them before they landed in the water as he turned to Scarlet feeling his smile widen when he noticed that she caught her as well. The teen handed back her charts to her as he laughed a bit to her joke and playfully replied" it almost compares to the temperature of the common room at Christmas," remembering how cold the common room got in the fall and winter months.
The teen followed her out of the water, luckily either of them got to wet as he listened her comment and looked over at Loki who gave a low warning growl to the two about getting water on him as smile and replied" actually that was refreshing, really wakes you up uh?"
