One of the things Cade loved doing during the weekend was walking around the Great Lake. The cold air helped clear his mind. Not to mention the beautiful Scottish highland scenery. The late morning light basked the castle in a bright yellow glow. Cade almost wished he'd brought his sketchbook. He would have sat on one of the rocks and started sketching the north tower. Alas, he would have to do something else today. The cold October air was a little more forgiving this morning, so Cade was encouraged to go closer to the water.
He noticed how still the water was and had a sudden urge to see it ripple. At least a little. He searched the stones beneath his feet and plucked a smooth blue one. Playing with the stone a little he surveyed the black water. He heard from some upperclassmen that there was merfolk living deep in the depths. He wasn't quite sure he believed it... He was then reminded of the freak accident with the Giant Squid his first night at school. Two students had fallen into the lake as the first years were entering in their boats. Cade chuckled. He'd been so frightened he thought the squid would kill the two students. He now knew that the creature was actually friendly. If something of that size could be gentle, Cade assumed the merfolk, if they were truly there, wouldn't be any different.
Cade chucked the stone into the lake. It gave a loud PLOP as it connected with the surface of the water. Large ripples spread across the lake. Cade smiled as he had an idea. He'd never tried skipping stones before, should be fun getting in a bit of practice. Cade checked behind him, the path in the trees was clear. He was seemingly alone... Why not? He thought. He collected another stone from the ground. It was flatter than the first and broader. He calculated the best stance to throw it for a time, then chucked it as far as he could. It made two skips then sunk into the water. Not the best job.
Unbeknownst to Cade, he was not alone. Someone was watching him.

Fresh air was what Melissa needed she wanted to escape all the drama that had been happening and go down to the lake. As Melissa sat down near a tree she saw a young boy about the same age as her she assumed but Melissa did not think he was in her house as she had never really seen him around. The young boy was trying to skim stones along the water. Melissa knew the boy was throwing the stone wrong he needed to do it with more power from the arm but she couldn't say that to him after all it looked like he had just learned how to do it.
Melissa had an idea she would show him how to do it. So Melissa walked up to the young boy. knelt down and picked up a stone. Melissa leaned forward to get the best throw and threw it into the clear water. Melissa was shocked she had never done such a good throw before it made five skips and then sunk into the water with a little splash . She looked at the boy waiting to see what he would do next.

@Melissa LandCade jumped a little in surprise when he saw the girl come up next to him out of nowhere. She gave him a knowing look before executing a perfect throw. Her rock jumping the surface a grand total of five times. His mouth fell open and he looked at her with admiration. She looked at him expectantly. Rising to the obvious challenge, Cade selected yet another stone and tried to mimic the stance she used. He was a little anxious now that he had an audience. He hoped he could pull off the next throw.
Deciding not to put much strategy into it, with a swing of his arm he threw the stone. It flew in the air and quickly sunk into the water. No skips in sight.
"Aww no!" Cade groaned. His ears growing pink in embarrassment. He looked at the girl then picked up a second stone and threw it with the same sloppiness. "Oh, bloody hell!" His embarrassment turned to frustration rather quickly. He stormed away from the water then turned and looked at the girl. "How is it you're so good? What is it that you do differently?"

The young boy seemed quit ticked after Melissa showed him her skills he asked her how she got so good. 'Practice is what I did to get better you should try it you need it.' Melissa let out a little laugh but she did not want to embarrass the boy any more so Melissa said 'Lean forward more and loosen up you look so stiff have fun!' Melissa had learned from home that fun is the key to everything and if its not fun don't do it as there no point of doing something boring or unpleasing.
The boy looked very pale he was not the pleasantest person Melissa had ever seen but she would still give him a chance. He looked rather angry maybe it was because he couldn't skim as well as Melissa but that shouldn't make him get angry its part of life. Melissa thought in her head that this boy needed to grow up and learn that life isn't fair but she couldn't say that to his face can she it would just be cruel. ' By the way Im Melissa and you are.'Melissa turned on her heal and crossed her arms waiting for the young boy to respond to her.

@Melissa LandCade sighed trying to calm down. This wasn't exactly how he pictured his walk to go. He was getting completely owned by a mysterious girl. Granted she had introduced herself so she wasn't too mysterious. Cade decided to be half decent and give an introduction. She was only trying to be friendly after all. She was trying to teach him. And he had already embarrassed himself in front of her more than once. He didn't want to make it any worse than it already was. He walked slowly back to her and tried to look friendly.
"Cade Darkbound." He didn't offer his hand, it was too wet, and dirtied with fine sand. Something told him she wasn't the type to take it anyway. Internally, he was still annoyed with himself for acting the way he did. And annoyed at Melissa for putting him in his place. But he had to be as professional as an eleven-year-old boy could be. And that was to be polite to her. Cade wasn't sure how long that would last, for his frustration was clearly taking over his head. "This is my first time," He admitted trying to stay calm. "I didn't expect to be marked."
Cade watched her for a moment, trying to figure her out. Based on the fact that her advice was for him to have fun, she seemed like a carefree sort of person. Maybe Cade was too quick to get angry.

The boy said his name was cade which was a name she hadn't heard much of. He also said It was his first time skimming stones so it was harsh for Melissa to have judged him to soon. Melissa had a plan instead of throwing rocks she wanted to have more fun. She reached her hands into the water and threw it at Cade making him a bit wet. Melissa was trying to make him loosen up and make him have fun!
' This will help you loosen up!' She said giving a little smirk. From the way Cade spoke she could tell he was quit shy and much more polite then Melissa. However she was quit nervous for him to reply as he seemed to get quit angry after she told him how to skim them properly. Melissa felt bad for judging him to quick and for beating him at his own game but it wasn't her fault she was better then him at skimming. As Melissa waited for him to reply or join in with her fun she knelt down to tie her laces of her shoes which had come undone when she knelt down.

@Melissa LandCade felt completely gullible, Melissa had told him what he needed to loosen up. He was going to look closer, eager to see what she had for him. But was frozen, aghast when she splashed him with lake water. The freezing crisp water put Cade on alert immediately. It seeped into his wool sweater, holding onto the fabric for dear life. Cade's skin automatically reacted with goose-pimples. He let out a gasp in surprise.
"Oi! It's cold!" Cade barely knew this girl but she was acting very playful towards him. He wasn't sure what he expected. But splashing was not one of them. Cade considered what to do. Quit and leave the area, or engage and ruin her day. A mischievous smile tugged at his lips. He needed to show her just who she was messing with. With a sudden drop, Cade waded into the water just to where the surface kissed his knees. He put his hands in and with as much strength he could muster, crafted a big wave of water that would bathe Melissa head to toe. It was easier than he expected because she had knelt down to tie her shoe at the last second. "Oh no..." Cade gasped again, he didn't mean to get her soaked. He instantly felt bad.

Wet and cold was what Melissa felt she expected him to throw some water back but not as much as he did. Melissa felt quit ticked of about what cade did but didn't want to show it. She could tell he wanted to prove a point that he was not boring and needed to loosen up but Melissa couldn't just let him win could she.
'Okay you have proven your point' Melissa said whilst rolling her eyes. But Melissa wasn't done with the young boy yet. She stood up from doing her shoe laces and took her wet jumper of. She walked over to the boy with a big wide smirk. 'karma!'Melissa said whilst squeezing the water from her jumper into his hair. She felt quit bad after, she was tempted to say sorry but she that wouldn't undo what she did. 'Sorry i guess..' She said and turned back to the spot she was in before. Melissa didn't think the boy would retaliate as he didn't look like the kind that wanted to cause trouble or get into trouble. Melissa waited to see what would happen next on this so called walk.

@Melissa LandCade's mouth fell agape when she squeezed her jumper out over his head. His hair clung to his forehead completely drenched. An unpleasant trail of water fell down his back. As she stepped back, Cade shook his head like a dog, shaking the excess water off of him. He then proceeded to glare at her.
"One step too far," Cade backed away far too calm. He walked past her back onto the shore and picked up another stone. He lost all incentive to be a polite gentleman. Melissa truly angered him and he was about to show her what he did with bullies. He turned and threw the stone at her. "Stop toying with me!" He didn't wait to see if he actually hit her or not. Instead, he ran back towards the castle. He was cold and miserable. He didn't want to let her see that there were tears welling in his eyes.
All he wanted to do was go to the Ravenclaw common room and sit by the fire. How did this even escalate so far? One moment Cade was minding his own business trying to skim rocks, and the next he was being toyed with by a random girl. What did he do to deserve such treatment? Cade wondered if she was trying to make friends. But he knew this was not the way of doing it. Cade decided he didn't like Melissa. Not one bit.

'Ow!' Melissa said whilst the stone hit her. She knew she went to far with the jumper thing but get a rock thrown at you is very painful. Melissa wasn't mad just hurt she started it of as a joke but it turned into something much worst and we both got hurt in the end. Melissa didn't cry as that was a sign of weakness. She felt bad for the young boy however he did need to control his anger a bit.amara-amara-amara-amara-amara
Melissa walked slowly whilst holding her hand near her head hoping she would fined Katherine somewhere and hoping she could fix this. Her head was hurt and was bleeding quit literally but she tried to relax and stay calm as she knew if she got panicked it would just get worst. Katherine was the best person Melissa knew to go to as she was the only friend Melissa really trusted at this moment in time. Melissa ran to where she thought Katherine would be she guessed the court yard or in the corridors as that's where Katherine spends most of her time Melissa thought and ran over to the court yard.
