Soaked to the Bone | Part 2
@Aurelia Roberts
Aurelia acted alright with Scarlett practically jabbering away. Scarlett generally talked a bit fast when she was talking normally - her words seemed a bit rushed to the average person, but her friends could decipher what she was saying. Today Scarlett talked a bit slower, like at average pace, just so Aurelia (Auri, she called herself) could understand what she was saying. Scarlett was a bit talkative, especially about herself. Hopefully Auri, or Aurelia - Scarlett couldn't decided what to call her, didn't mind too much. Scarlett had, after all, asked her a few questions about herself so she could speak as well. It seemed they were getting a bit in-depth, but that didn't matter. In-depth was good, right?
As Scarlett asked a bit about who she was, Aurelia stopped for a second, looking like the question was sinking in. Now that she thought about it, the question could be viewed in a philosophical manner - perhaps Aurelia was a future philosopher? The thought left her head as quickly as it came. From what Scarlett had seen of the girl - and, yes, she was quick to judge - Aurelia seemed more fit for something like a career as an Auror.
Auri (Scarlett had firmly decided with that name) had said she liked Quidditch and pranks and adventures and hanging out with friends and some me-time every so often. That was cool - the two were quite alike. Auri asked afterwards the same question - who was she? Then she added a quick summer camp question; apparently Auri was excited to see Durmstrang play.
"Well I guess I'm the same as you," laughed Scarlett, straight-away. That was who she had always been; the redheaded, extroverted, adventurous, Quidditch-loving Gryffindor prankster. Sometimes though...she wished she could be something more. Something not like a living cliche. "And yes, I'm going to go to summer camp. Who are your tentmates?"
As an afterthought, she added, "Oh yeah, Durmstrang! They seem alright; a bit mysterious and stuff, but Viktor Krum was taught there! That's just, er, epic?"
She stumbled for words a bit. Really, Scarlett would need to expand her vocabulary than that of 'epic'.

@Scarlett AdenSummer camp... ah yes, Auri was very excited. It was sure to be busy and full of activities. "And yes, I'm going to go to summer camp. Who are your tentmates?", Scarlett said. "That's great! We should hang out there... my tentmates... well I'm going with one of my friends Rose Moon and some other people I don't know... What about you?" It was quite funny that they were so similar in the things they like, but it would surely make for great hang-outs. They could pull a nice prank... watch a quidditch match. The possibilities were endless. "Hey, do you want to pull a prank sometime? Maybe prank the teachers with some nose-biting teacups? Or set some fanged frisbees out in the corridors"
Aurelia was confused with herself when she thought too much about Scarlett's question from before, she usually wasn't so... think-y. Scarlett just wanted to know who she was, why did her brain go that deep? Maybe it was her brother's letters that were rubbing off on her... Once again, she overlooked the water and tried to shake off that weird feeling. Quietly, she took off her shoes and dipped her toes into the water. Arghh! The cold nibbled at her bones, and she instantly pulled her feet out. "The water is cold", she stated. How stupid did she sound?! Of course it was cold, summer had just begun! But Aurelia was sure about one thing, she did not want to fall into the water.

@Aurelia Roberts
Sorry for the incredibly late reply '^~^

Aurelia seemed quite nice. Scarlett thought this as they had their little conversation, her dark-brown eyes, so like her father's, ocassionally drifting out towards the inky Great Lake.
"That's cool! Scarlett tilted her head as Aurelia described her tentmates briefly. A girl called Rose and a few other friends of Aurelia's. Scarlett hadn't even sorted out who her tentmates were going to be, for Merlin's sake.
Aurelia seemed incredibly similar to Scarlett. She liked Quidditch. She liked pranks. And, no doubt about it, there were probably numerous other things the two spunky Gryffindor girls shared in common.
Word of a prank snapped Scarlett to full-on reality. The redhead grinned.
"Fanged frisbees sounds awesome," said Scarlett, her round eyes sparkling with the prospect of mischief. "You have surprisingly good ideas!"
Now, Scarlett said this in a friendly manner, but later on she would realise it sounded a tad arrogant, obnoxious and bratty. However, Scarlett in her first-year was oblivious to all of this, not knowing what a slightly self-centered jerk she was, and could've been had not something...interesting happened in her later life - only this summer, in fact.
Aurelia dipped her toe in the water, remarking about how cold it was. Scarlett gave a small giggle, coming to Aurelia's side and also dipping her toe in just to see for herself the temperature.
And BAM.
She didn't know how it had happened. But one moment, she was on dry solid land, and the next, in the ethereal waters of the Great Lake.

This girl... gosh, they really were incredibly similar.
Aurelia smiled at the compliment Scarlett gave her, only to realize that it was backhanded. Wha- who... The first-year was bewildered. Gee, the nerve of this girl. They had just met for Merlin's sake! She was still staring at the water, now too afraid to look back, in case her annoyance was visible on her face. Suddenly the ripples seemed threatening.
Deep breath in... out. She calmed herself down. She surely couldn't have meant it poorly, right? What if she had? What if she turned around now only to see the girl smirking? What would she do then?
Push her... right into that goddamn lake
Aurelia spun around. Her brows furrowed and her arms ready for action. She would show this girl not to mess with her. But before she could push her, it seemed as though the deed had already been done for her.
She just-
fell?!
Her anger vanished, as she stared. She knew the water was freezing, she had put her toes in before. And wasn't there a giant squid living in here?!
Without hesitating for a second longer, the brunette stuck out her hand. "Here- take my hand!" Aurelia's body was shivering. Not only from the cold but also from, fear. She hated having fear with all her might, it always led to something bad.
Yet, what if this was her fault?! What if this was like the things she did when she was younger... where her magic burst out without control?
"Sorry Scarlett", she whispered, "sorry..."

────── ☆ ───────JUNE 3RD 2019
@Aurelia Roberts
She couldn't hear anything, she couldn't see anything-
God. She couldn't feel anything.
The water was cold. Incredibly cold. So cold that it numbed her senses, her arms and legs waving wildly to try and keep herself from drowning. The lake was so dark. There was no faint luminescent glow. It was simply and uncontrollably pitch-black. Scarlett needed air. She had fallen too deep for her lungs' liking, and the water pressure really was a phenomenon in itself. Scarlett had never learnt to swim, but it looked like if she madly waved her limbs around, she was shooting upwards. Pushing herself upwards. She saw a glimmer of light now - like a beacon of life. Good God, she was dramatic indeed.
Scarlett caught a glimpse of sparkling eyes - wide, sparkling eyes - that peered at her intently as she crashed to the surface, gasping air and still blindly waving her arms and kicking her legs. That was the Giant Squid! A part of Scarlett wanted to swim down and meet it properly, but another part of her screamed 'Get out of here you flipping idiot!'. Obviously, she followed the latter part.
She grabbed Aurelia's arm. The girl appeared to be saying something, but Scarlett couldn't hear what with the water in her ears.
"I'm alive! she gasped. "I'm alive! T - thanks Aur - Aurelia. Auri, if you may."
Her teeth had started to chatter. No matter how refreshed she felt after a cold dunk in the lake, it was still cold. "I should go...g-go and change. Ar-are you s - staying here? Y - you don't have - have to come with m-me."
Her teeth were chattering badly now. She was cold and wet. Auri would have to answer quickly, it seemed.────── ☆ ───────
