Early Mornings at the Lake
Chloe had woken up early that morning, and decided she wanted to go down to the Great Lake and relax. She made her way down the large hill, carrying a couple books and a parchment and quill in the bag on her back. Her long, dark hair was pulled into a low, loose ponytail, strands of hair falling around her face.
She loved when she woke up early, because the lake was one of her favorite spots on the grounds. She loved the serenity of the lake early in the morning or when it got late. She loved watching the sunrise come up over the lake.
Finally, after a long walk from the Hufflepuff common room, she saw the lake coming into view. She scanned the shore quickly, looking for a good spot. She didn't notice anyone else at the lake, but she had always been bad at noticing things.
"Finally." Chloe whispered to herself as she made her way to the shore. She stepped over several rocks, trying not to trip. She had also always been very clumsy, and tripped every single time she went to the lake. It was slightly embarrassing to her, but she was always okay.
Chloe successfully avoided all of the rocks and smiled smugly to herself... just a moment too soon. She didn't see the large tree root in front of her. She went flying, her hands in front of her trying to catch herself.
OOF
Chloe hit the ground and groaned as she looked around. She noticed all of her books and parchment on the ground. She had bruises from other times she had fallen, now she could add a few more to the collection. Chloe fixed her hair from where it fell out of the ponytail and around her face.

Early Mornings at the Lake
Marco had always been an outside kid. Though, not in the sense that he was messy. He's actually quite a clean boy. It's more that he prefers to take his indoors activities outside. His sister used to think he was crazy for going out and reading in winter. He never saw why.
Right now, Marco is sitting by a tree, a light blanket draped over his shoulders, and his nose in a book. Next to him sat a small notebook filled to the brim with writing, but it all looked like it was in some foreign language. But what exactly? Well, it's Russian. Definitely not common around here, but it's his first language. He speaks it much better than English though, that's for sure.
Marco's head popped up when he heard a small crack of some sticks, seeing another girl trying to navigate her way around the rocks. She looked so triumphant. Though, he noticed she didn't spot the tree root. His eyes widened a bit, calling out to her--
But thus, it was too late, she had already tripped. Quickly, he set his book aside and got to his feet, dashing over to her. "H-hello? Are you alright?" He asked nervously, looking down at her. He squatted down, starting to gather her books and parchment. "That was bad fall, yeah? You should be more careful."

Chloe looked up at the boy who came running to help her. She nodded, smiling slightly. "I'm okay."She took the books out of his hand and puts them back in her bag. She brushed the dirt and sticks off of her legs and examines the new bruise that she was getting. She sat on the ground and sighed
"I've always been super clumsy... I usually trip over the rocks. I guess I got smug too quickly." She laughed slightly and sighed. "I didn't see anyone else out here. I like to come out here in the morning."
She leaned her back against the tree she had tipped over and closed her eyes. She didn't mean to interrupt his reading. She always hated interrupting people. She opened her eyes again and looked back at him shyly.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt your reading..." She looked down, slightly disappointed in herself. She had yet to not embarrass herself and scare away people before they were able to be her friends. She was bad at making friends. “I'm Chloe, by the way...." She waited, hoping that he would want to be friends, and wouldn't take off running because of how embarrassing she is.

He sat down in front of her offering a warm smile. "I like reading outside too. It is... peaceful." That's a word he learned from Charles. He likes how it sounds. As the other apologized and spoke his name, he simply offered a small giggle. "It is fine! Don't worry about it. I do not get company out here often. It's nice to see new face. I'm Marco." He said kindly, offering a hand for the other to shake. What are you, Marco, twenty? Other eleven-year-olds don't do handshakes. Weird boy. Realizing his mistake, he awkwardly pulled his hand up to attempt a smooth recovery by moving his hair out of his face, which was now turning redder the more he spoke. Smooth, Marco, very smooth.
Clearing his throat, he spoke. "Would you like to come read with me over there? I have blanket." He stated, half gesturing to where his books and his blanket was. "I-I mean! You not have to if you don't want to. It is okay. Er-- sorry." He let out a defeated chuckle, looking anywhere but Chloe's face. His sentences were broken and strange. How awkward of him. It seems Chole is clumsy with her movement, Marco is clumsy with his words.

Early Mornings at the Lake
Chloe laughed, watching Marco attempting to talk but stumble over his words. She nodded as she looked out at the lake. "I love it. I like watching the sunrise over the lake while I'm reading."She laughed slightly as she watched him pull his hand away awkwardly. She giggled softly a little bit and brushed her own hair out of her eyes. She liked the fact that he didn't run off, weirded out by her. She couldn’t decide if he just had more patience with her, or if she wasn’t being too weird yet. All she knew was that she liked it. Maybe they would actually be able to become good friends.
She smiled warmly to let him know that it's okay that he was stumbling and being awkward, she was very welcoming. She liked it. He was normal. He didn’t try to be perfect. "I'd love to read over there with you..." She felt her cheeks turning red, a very noticeable trait on her fair skin. She looked down to pick up her bag of books, hoping he didn't notice her cheeks blushing. She stood up and slung her bag over her back carefully. She offered him a hand up, smiling again.

Early Mornings at the Lake
Cecily smiled as she walked down from Ravenclaw Tower to the Lake carrying her wand and a couple of books. Cecily always loved to study or read near the lake. There usually weren't very many people there, so it would always be very quiet. Cecily always loved to go down in the mornings especially, since the sunrise was so pretty, and the weather was very nice and cool. Cecily, excited to enjoy this quiet little reading time, started jogging down to a tree nearby the Great Lake. Cecily always loved to sit there. However, she saw two people, a boy, and a girl, who seemed to be talking together. Cecily felt the urge to go talk with them, but they looked like they were content talking together, so Cecily decided not to bother them, although she did want to meet them. Cecily slowly sat down on the tree, and started reading one of her favorite books, Fantasic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander. As she read, she became distracted and kept glancing at the boy and the girl.
Go introduce yourself, Cecily thought to herself. But Cecily, like always, was very shy and nervous around other people, and decided to focus on her book, wishing she wasn't nervous like she always was.

He nodded. "Same! It's so magical, the water so clear that it reflects whole sky. это красиво...(you/it is beautiful...)" He said with a quick nod, before realizing the other probably didn't understand. "AH! That means 'You are beautiful'. Thh-the sky! The sky is beautiful, I mean. Term also это mmm-means 'you' or 'it'." He's trying really hard to save himself here, face turning beat red. How awkward of you, Marco.
The idea of being friends with someone new always made Marco smile. He's not one to easily make friends due to the language barrier. If someone were to talk to him too fast or use big words, he probably wouldn't understand well. It makes him nervous.
Gratefully, he took the others hand, standing to his feet, and leading her over to where he had been reading, all the while not letting go until they were there. He allowed her to sit down before taking the blanket and draping it around her shoulders. "Comfy, yeah-- oh." He looked up, close by, another girl sat, her own book in her hands, catching her catch a glance at them. He offered a small wave to the girl. "Hello." He said nervously before quickly sitting down next to Chloe. Once he started reading again, though, it seemed that Marco faced the same problem as Cecily, as in not being able to focus on his book, occasionally sneaking a glance at her from where he sat. He felt tempted to ask the girl to come to sit with them but ultimately felt too nervous to do so.

Early Mornings at the Lake
Reducio
Hi, sorry for the long delay. on vacation and was at six flags all day yesterday.
Chloe blushed slightly as he said "You are beautiful" and looked down, realizing he was talking about the sky. She thought he was talking about her. She nodded, agreeing, then noticed he was speaking a new language. It was different and she wanted to know where he was from. She looked at him curiously. "What language is that?" She was fascinated by it, whatever it was. She found him very interesting. She was enjoying talking to him, and getting to know him.
Chloe blushed again as he held her hand all the way over to the blanket where he had been sitting. She grinned to herself as she looked down at their hands. She smiled comfortably as he placed the blanket on her shoulders. She picked up her book, then looked over at their new guest. She smiled shyly at the girl and waved. "Hi.." She said, hoping the girl heard her. She wanted to go invite the girl to read with them too. She glanced at Marco, then back at Cecily, before setting her book down. She beckoned for the girl to come sit with them, smiling. She made sure there was room on the blanket for her.

Early Mornings at the Lake
Cecily nervously remained seated, glancing at the two from time to time. The two both greeted Cecily, a little nervously. Cecily knew they were also shy around other people, which made Cecily feel more comfortable.
The girl signaled her to come over to them, so Cecily willingly did.
"Hi, I'm Cecily Queen. I'm from Ravenclaw."
Cecily observed the girl. She was very pretty. She had her hair up in a long ponytail, but Cecily thought it would look better down.
"You are really pretty, by the way," Cecily commented, turning to the girl. "Your hair is so long, why do you have it in a ponytail? I think it would look much better down," Cecily said dreamily, wishing she had hair as pretty as that.
Cecily was about to say something else, but caught herself, as she knew she could ramble on and on and on.
"Sorry, if I'm a little... awkward. I don't do too well around people. Then when they say something to me I find myself talking for five minutes straight. I don't know why. I've always been shy around people though, because I don't have very many friends. Mostly because I'm too busy doing school," Cecily explained, hoping they weren't weirded out by her. Cecily was beginning to think she shouldn't tell her personality to them. Cecily stopped talking, and decided to let them talk. She smiled, and folded her hands together.

As the other asked about his language, he perked up a bit. "Ah, it is Russian. I'm from Russia." He answered. "Not very common round here, yeah?" He offered a soft chuckle like he was trying to joke or something, though it didn't sound very much like a joke. How incredibly awkward.
"I am Marco, this is Chloe. We are both Hufflepuff." Marco spoke for the other. He probably shouldn't have, Chloe should be able to speak for herself. How rude of you, Marco. Tsk.
At the other's explanation of herself, Marco simply chuckled, trying to defuse the nervousness that had blanketed over all of them, though it showed through a bit when he started playing with a few long locks of hair, a thing he only does when anxious.. "A-ah, I guess I can say we are similar then, yeah? I am always very shy about my voice, my accent very strong. It make me nervous to speak, and I stumble over words lots." His English was very broken, but hopefully, it was understandable enough to the two girls. He scooted over closer to Chloe so there was enough blanket room for all three of them. "Would you like to read with us?" He asked nervously, unsure if it was the right move to make.
