Kaede sucked on his lollipop as the wind gently blew the hair around his face. He weighed down with colouring supplies and a few school books so that he could work on some sort of homework and study in general, plus he also had different sweets to munch on too. He was pretty tired of being cooped up inside all the time and though it mightn’t of actually been a good idea to sit outside in the cold, but he was Irish, so he could handle it. God knows what he’d do if he wasn’t so used to that sort of thing. Kaede still practically died in the summer when there was a really bad heatwave, no that he couldn’t deal with at all. Before going outside he had wrapped himself up in a hat, scarf and a fleece lined grey coat. He also took a blanket with him in case he got cold or if someone joined him at some point.

Kaede found his favourite place by the lake and set up everything that he had with him. Considering how he had barely any friends at the school it was a lot harder for him to organise hangouts with the people around him. Sure, he liked being on his own and liked his own company but just for once, he’d like some sort of relationship. Kaede was going to try and make it his point to make new connections to people from now on.

((hoping this is still open, I need Summer to make some friends out of her House))

It was cold outside. That was Summer's main thought as she navigated her way through the grounds outside of Hogwarts. She hadn't seen the lake yet, but had heard it was the home of some Giant Squid. It was beautiful too, with shining water covered by a mysterious veil of mist and fog. 'The Black Lake', some older students had called it.

Besides all that, Summer had decided it was the perfect place to read in silence. Even a loud and extroverted soul like herself needed some time in a peaceful setting without hundreds of people. That ruled out the castle, and the few people spread around the lake seemed to be pretty calm.

Finally, I can relax. And maybe even write that letter back home.... She sighed. She had already put that off for a little bit. She knew her grand parents would be at least some what confused, possibly even angry, and she felt like somehow her sorting into Slytherin was going to be a disappointment to her father's pure Ravenclaw lineage.

So lost in her thoughts was the petite blonde that she sat down at a random spot. She put her books down and rubbed her hands together, trying to get them warm. It was when she was dusting off her dark green sweater that she noticed someone sitting near her.

"Oh, hello!" She greeted sheepishly, offering the boy a small wave. Summer also added a smile as an afterthought, hoping she didn't look like some sort of clumsy fool. Her American accent was also somewhat different, at least here in Europe. Without waiting for him to acknowledge her she continued. "Do you mind if I sit here, or....?"
