An Odd Place for Books
After being at Hogwarts for a while, Lucy quickly realized the extensiveness of the work she would be presented with in each of her classes. She wasn't the best student to begin with and struggled in some subjects, but she could always push through her classes and come out towards the top of her class. She had homework in several of her classes and due to prior experience, she knew that she ad to find some crazy place to do her work, or else it won't get done. When she was 9, she tried to complete her work while sitting on her bed; however, this was an awful idea as she fell asleep quickly. Since turning 11, her favorite place to do work was in the middle of her willow tree back home. She would climb up the trunk, which was quite short, and in the center, the branches sprouted out in all directions and left this large open area in the middle of them all, where she was able to sit and complete all her school work. Lucy understood that there was a willow tree on the grounds of Hogwarts as well; however, she had heard insane rumors about that tree and decided to stay far away from it, but she still needed to find the perfect study spot.

An Odd Place for Books
When Lucy had first arrived at Hogwarts, she took a week to survey the grounds for a place that was adequate for her studying needs. On the sixth day, she believed that she had found the perfect spot. Near the Great Lake, there were several trees, but there was one tree that quickly caught her eye. A very large oak tree, nearly 100 years old, sat very close to the edge of the lake, where there was a little part of land that jutted out into the lake unlike the rest of the surrounding area. It didn't seem too high up and it had the most wonderful view of the lake.
Admiring the view, she began to climb the tree to discover what lay on the flat surface between the branches. Reaching the landing, she sat there with her legs crossed together and looked around, taking in the environment. She sat there for more than 30 minutes before she was taken out of her daze by movement in the water. Seeing a magical creature for the first time was always an exciting experience, but seeing it in such a magnificent place, made it much more special. Waiting for a bit, nothing arose from the water, but this didn't disappoint Lucy to the slightest extent. She had found the most perfect spot for her to study and she was claiming it as her own spot, and it may just become one of her favorite spots.
