Letter By The Lake Closed

Caitlyn watched the slight ripples of the lake as the wind passed. Never in her life had she seen a lake this beautiful. Granted, the only lake she had seen was full of sticks and toilet paper, but it was still wondrous. She breathed in, relishing the fresh air, before releasing it with a sigh of relief. After searching around her bag, she finally found what she was looking for. "My dearest Caitlyn," she could almost hear her mother's voice through the letter. "Even if it has only been several days, I am still missing you dearly." Caitlyn smiled, as she always did when others had love in their hearts. "Everything's fine at home. Your brother's having a bit of a struggle with some friend, but I'm sure they'll make up." Of course he will, Caitlyn thought to herself. This always happened at home and she always knew whether or not they'd make up. Call it...intuition. "Don't forget to reply! Lots of love, Mummy xoxo." Caitlyn, letter still in hand, slumped down onto the ground, sighing. Despite the excitement of Hogwarts, she was still missing everyone back home. She looked back at the letter, her mother's elegant handwriting bold on the snow-white paper. "Love you, Mum," she whispered to herself before putting the letter back in her pocket and staring out at the magnificent waters that continued to slowly ripple...
@Ellis Burke (you don't have to roleplay if you don't want to).

It was a beautiful night, and Ellis was wondering to the lake. She wasn't going to get in, as that wasn't allowed, but she just needed some time to think. No one had been talking to her the whole day, and she was very surprised by this. Normally she was a very social person, and had a lot of friends. She put her hood on and started heading towards the lake. On her way there she was thinking if her parents would ever write to her this semester. Her father didn't even know that she was at Hogwarts, and her mum was very proud.. Maybe her mum has already told her father, or maybe she's planning on doing so..

As Ellis got closer to the lake she noticed someone was there, a girl. She hadn't seen her at all today, and wanted to make an interaction with her. "Hey.. What's up? It's a beautiful night out here", she said. As Ellis was saying this, she wondered if anyone was ever going to talk to her.. So, she had to make sure that she was making the moves from now on. She had to get herself involved, or else she would become the boring witch that nobody talks to. She had to create her own path.

Interacting with @Ellis Burke
As she looked out across the lake, she heard a small rolling of stones as someone stepped towards her. A female voice suddenly called out, "Hey.. what's up? It's a beautiful night out here," Caitlyn looked around and saw a Gryffindor, looking like she was as deprived of social interaction as herself. However, Caitlyn didn't respond straight away, wondering what to say. She didn't really want to blabber on too much, but she also didn't want to seem uninterested in the conversation alltogether. "Well...nothing much, really, just having those feelings when you want to go see a lake. How about you?" Still feeling a bit flustered at the sudden arrival of the Gryffindor, she awkwardly patted a space next to her for the girl to sit down. Caitlyn curled up into a ball while she sat, suddenly feeling quite chilly. Maybe it wasn't that it was cold, just that she was scared of a bad first impression. "Well, anyway, I'm Caitlyn. What's your name?" After a few moments, Caitlyn realised that she had just been staring at the Gryffindor. She turned away, quite embarrassed. It wasn't like her to stare at potential friends. "Sorry.." She turned her attention back towards the lake, once again just watching the small ripples go up and down. Even if she felt tense at that moment, though, she was smiling on the inside.

She immediately regretted what she had said, and she even regretted coming to the lake in the first place. Yes, she wanted to makes friends, but she didn't imagine it at a lake where she wasn't supposed to be in the middle of the night.. "I'm just bored and looking for friends", she replied.. Ellis didn't want to seem too talkative.. She wanted to seem cool, but at the same time she wanted to leave.

Her first day at Hogwarts wasn't that great.. She wanted to do things she thought she could do, and have the freedom she wanted, but that didn't happen.. She wanted a lot of things, but she only got a couple of those things.

With Ellis being Ellis, she took a seat right next to the girl.. She didn't know what her name was.. "What's your name?", she asked. Again, she didn't want to seem to talkative, but she wanted to make a friend, or at least talk to someone. She sat down, and started gazing into the night sky.

She didn't know what was to come of this friendship, and she wasn't even sure if she wanted anything to come from it.. Granted she had just met this girl a couple seconds ago, she was already starting to get along with her.
